dishwasher and refrigerator
Date today: December 5, 2017
We bought three major Kitchenaid appliances in mid-October of this year, not even two months ago, a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a range. Before this, we never owned any major Kitchenaid appliances.
After the delivery of these appliances, they were not installed until two weeks after because of the kitchen renovation at that time. It is a fact that one of these appliances, the dishwasher (Model No. KDTE204ESS) has been defective and inoperable right off the bat and as of today's date has never worked! The refrigerator (Model No. KRFC300ESS) has a mind of its own as the freezer temperature goes up (above 0 degree) and down on its own, without any manual adjustment whatsoever.
We called the Kitchenaid C.S. and the first technician attended at the premises and after checking the dishwasher he was able to determine that the motor of the dishwasher was shot/broken. We were told that the motor needed to be replaced and a new one ordered and that there could be a wait (we are still waiting). Go figure, a brand new appliance which was delivered in a defective state and has never worked because of a broken motor.
I called the Kitchenaid Customer Service again and requested that the dishwasher be replaced with a new one since it had already been defective before delivery and that this could be an indication that it is a defective appliance, which could spell more problems in the future . The dishwasher has not even been at the house for two months and we were told that we called in too late and that we should have called within one week after delivery. We certainly did not expect it to be a defective appliance on delivery!
As for the brand new refrigerator, we were told by a second technician that a control panel needs to be replaced. It certainly blows our minds, that buying very expensive appliances and being given a song and dance that these are among the best on the market and claiming to have them at home as well, that Kitchenaid refuses to replace the dishwasher.
I can say with all certainty that there will be no second purchase on our part of another Kitchenaid appliance.

stovetop, gas 32"
With all 4 burners in use, stovetop suddenly burst into a major fire.
After quelling with an extinguisher, we were left with melted and charred rear
control knobs which are fused in place and cannot be removed or rotated. Additionally, there is fire damage to the overlying cabinets.
Unsafe and frankly life threatening, had we not been immediately present, we would likely be faced with a house of ashes as well.
Attached are photos of remaining damage after cleanup.

dishwasher and refrigerator
Today: December 5, 2017.
We bought three kitchenaid appliances, namely in mid-October of this year, barely two months ago (we have never owned any Kitchenaid major appliances before). After delivery they were not installed until two weeks after because of the kitchen renovations. One of these appliances, the dishwasher (model #KDTE204ESS) has been broken off the bat, and as of today's date has never worked! The refrigerator (model #KRFC300ESS) has a mind of its own, freezer temperature goes up (above 0 degree) and down on its own without any manual adjustment.
Called the kitchenaid C. S. and technician attended at the premises and after checking the dishwasher he was able to determine that the motor of the dishwasher was shot/broken. We were told that the motor needs to be replaced and apparently the part has to come from China and there would be a wait. Go figure, a brand new appliance, which had never worked because it was already defective/broken on delivery!
I called the Kitchenaid customer service again and requested that the dishwasher be replaced since it was already broken on delivery and that it could be an indication that it was a defective appliance, which could spell more problems in the future. The dishwasher has not even been at the house for TWO months and we were told that we called in too late and that we should have called within one week after delivery. We certainly did not expect that it was already broken on delivery!
As for the brand new refrigerator, we were told that a control panel needs to be replaced.
It certainly blows our mind, buying expensive appliances and being given a song and dance that these are among the best appliances on the market by the sales person, claiming to have them in their home and that Kitchenaid refuses to replace the dishwasher.
I can guarantee you and Kitchenaid one thing and that is that I will never again whatsoever buy any one of their appliances and will most definitely NOT EVER recommend them to anyone.

Any appliances can have issues. Just because they do, doesn't make them bad or the entire product line poor. Although it's not as common to have two end up with issues right out of the starting gate.
To me, the issue is not the manufacturer, but the retailer you a dealing through. If the problem really was detected within a couple of weeks after delivery, there should have been no reason that they didn't take back the problematic appliances and exchange them for you. They can, in turn, get R.A. (return authorization) numbers from the manufacturer, sending the defective units back.
Have you contacted the retailer about an exchange?

We are very disappointed with this Kitchen Aid Refrigerator. The inconvenience that this give us not to mention that my son had a food poisoning as we did not realize that fridge was not working and fed him with a meat that was cooked a night before.
Noise coming from Refrigerator area and not cooling. We had same problem in Mar 2017 and you guys ended up replacing the fan assembly that is in the refrigerator area at the back as ice was building up and causing the fan to be noisy.
Special Instructions:
My fridge delivery date was Dec 20, 2016. I had ordered and waited 2 to 3 months for shipment as this new model was not available yet in Canada.
We are told that they cannot replace as it is not covered by the warranty.
We are requesting that this fridge should be replaced..

refrigerator
I bought all brand new appliances to go in my new home I just built and thus far the oven didn't work out of the box and now a month in the refrigerator quit working. Parts to fix the refrigerator are on factory back order and I can't get this resolved cause it either takes too long to get customer service on the phone or when you finally do get someone their system is down. I would rather spend time enjoying my new home rather than getting all my brand new appliances fixed. Y'all need better customer service and apparently need to step up your game on quality.

Hi Matt.
Whereas the appliances are so recent, have you spoken to the retailer you purchased them through? You'd be surprised as to what they can do. Many times they can simply exchange the unit and then work on getting an R.A. (return authorization).
my mixer head seems to be coming off.
I purchased several kitchen aid mixers for myself and my family members as they get married. I have never had any issues until now. My red 5 quart 90 year anniversary mixer when simply mixing on slow speed that pin in the back that holds the head on the stand keeps coming out as I am mixing. I have to continuously hammer it back in. This should not being this. As stated before I have purchased at least 10 mixers in my life time as gifts and for my own use as well. Never have I ever had this issue. Please I need my mixer fixed with the holidays coming up.

faulty oven, new range.
I have a gas range less than a year old (house was finished less than 6 months ago, range sat in factory box for about 4 months until install after it was delivered). The model number is KSGG700ESS1. I have receipt for proof of purchase and date. The Kitchenaid website froze up when we tried to register the appliances months ago. The oven stopped functioning and displays F2E0 error. We are very disappointed in the quality of the appliance. I've recently heard of others having issues with this series of range (I'm a Home inspector by trade). The Customer service numbers to Kitchenaid do not work. They have not responded back to multiple emails submitted to the website. The online "Chat" function does not work. I purchased the appliances from Lowes and they said they have not had any luck getting in touch with Kitchenaid. I need some help getting this resolved and am also worried about the quality of the other kitchenaid appliances I purchased.
Wound up contacting KitchenAid through their FaceBook page. They responded quickly. Had a local repair tech come out yesterday and we are back to using the oven. Thank you KitchenAid for the help.
Thanks, will post an update. Kitchenaid sent out a local repair tech and fixed everything. Thank you for writing on here. I would suggest maybe updating the customer support number and email on the Kitchenaid website. I never did hear back on the emails and the phone calls never would go through. I was able to get in touch with Kitchenaid through the facebook page and they responded pretty quickly that way.
I wanted to clarify that one of the previous kitchenaid ranges that our company observed malfunctioning was an electric top (not gas like mine). It did have what appears to be the same control panel. I do not recall the error code but the broiler function did not appear to work properly. The other appeared to the same as ours and had an issue with the convection/fan function. To be fair, both had seen some use so I don't know if they were abused before hand (best I can recall it was late 2015 to mid 2016 timeline). I don't know if kitchenaid or the buyers home warranty wound up fixing them. I know Lowes was selling a lot of them because it seemed to be a popular model to the sales associate.
Thanks for the encouraging words. I truly hope the rest of the appliances are good. This particular range seems to have issues. It appears to be a popular model. I've seen two others that were malfunctioning during inspections and the model has not been out very long. It seems to be related to the placement of the control panel (front of unit, above the oven). I would imagine the control panel gets very hot where it is located
I tried to contact Lowes. The Lowes in our area was not as helpful as I had hoped. They wound up forwarding me over to their extended warranty department, but no one picked up and I did not have time to sit on hold. It would be great if Kitchenaid would answer their phones or respond to my direct communications.

ordering parts
Tried to order a part for my KitchenAid microwave oven - Face Plate -
Parts department / Customer Service would not let me purchase the part - some weird Whirlpool Policy -
But, on the parts website, the part has a skill level of 2 wrenches which they define as a "Do-It-Yourself"
But then they say they can't sell it to me - I already have it off on on my work bench - just need this part!
Not sure what the policy is all about when they don't want to sell the part - isn't the definition of a policy to promote the goal of the company - and the goal of a company is ultimately, to "Make Money" -
The last time I had a service technician to fix an appliance, they ordered the wrong part.
Sell me the part, that's all I ask.
I guess I will buy a different brand other than WhirlPool / KitchenAid from here on out - Bosch - LG - here I come.

kitchen aid ykfid500ess induction range with dual ovens
KitchenAid ovens are sold and delivered in an unclean state, with loose metal parts and enamel-coated shards inside.
While cleaning surfaces of the newly delivered oven, we noticed repeated defects:
- Ceramic enamel blue shards were snagged inside a seam in the lower oven, and floating loose within the ovens. One shard sliced open my wife's finger, and embedded itself under her skin. Many smaller shards have been collected upon dampened paper towels to clean out debris from blowing around.
- Loose metal self-tapping screw for broiler element attachment plates was found in the oven - a factory leftover.
- Convection fan blade was binding and grinding against ventilation opening, got seized and fan stopped running altogether. 3 fan attachment screws were not factory-installed, as diagnosed, corrected, and reported. REF. Kitchen Aid Service Bench ticket SWCKAG1XHC-1 to address grinding "noise from convection fan". Fan controls did not catch fire due to locked-rotor condition upon being seized. It is unknown if there was any smoke/overheating when I did the first day BAKE MODE burn-in to eliminate off-gassing nor the 900ºF SELF-CLEAN mode.
- The cowling plate of the convection fan inside the oven has a 3 cm x 1 cm long section of enamel chipped off.
There are no visual cues to show that factory cleaning has occurred prior to shipment.
There are no OK - INSPECTED markings on the appliance.
STEIN APPLIANCES technician has filed a report, and come to my home to diagnose loose/seized fan missing 3 fasteners.
Also, oven door corners have poor finishing, leaving a rough sharp edge inline with the door, which poses a safety hazard when cleaning surfaces.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

(order no. H440788)
the Kitchen-aid Refrigerator, gas stove (which was supposed to be gas top; electric oven!) and Dishwasher.
refrigerator; they are coming for the 3rd time to replace it! the dishwasher; have had problems since day 1; but due to the store sending someone to look at it; it surpassed the 7 days; and the oven as well, there are some buttons that don't work well.
the worst part is whenI called many times at the whirlpool office; my complaint just seems to go in limbo! even when I asked to speak to a supervisor; I don't think I was actually talking to one!) that is the worst customer service I have run into. they say American Made is the best! don't know about that!I keep getting the brush off from everyone! (store sales manager- still waiting for an answer!) I will let everyone know what customer service there is! very disappointed; we have to run around to try and talk to people; but the invoice to pay comes in and they just say that I still have to just pay. Nobody, (not whirlpool) or the store have yet to offer any rebate etc, for the troubles! Only a 6 months warranty extended for the dishwasher!

rebate process
I ordered a Stand Up Mixer and was to get a free Spiralizer as a rebate. I filled out the paperwork, verified the UPC was in the envelope and mailed it. - I even verified the cardboard UPC was in the envelope 2 or 3 times. Keep in mind they do not accept copies so when they said I didn't turn in the UPC but I did provide everything else. They had no options to the lost UPC so Nope don't get the rebate. Funny how that happens, saved them some money I guess and they were rude about it as well as if I was trying to scam them. People scam them for spiralizers that only fit their mixer?
I am complaining about kitchenaid fridge model# krmf706ess01 serial # k64116439
Hello,
We have purchased a brand new fridge from billa appliance ltd. Invoice # m51271 dated 09/29/2016 delivery date 12th november, 2016 including manufacturing warranty.
Our fridge was not working properly and our complaint is related to frosting and/or condensation in freezer from last may 2017. Till date it is reviewed by service technician by 5 times. We have also garbage frozen foods including children foods. Also due to frosting my kitchen cabinet is damaged. After 5 months of review by various technicians still we are waiting for replacement.
We have a very bad experience with kitchen aid fridge and we would like it to replace with other fridge or money back as we are struggling for freezer from last may 2017. If it is not done I am going for legal action.
Please review this case and provide us your update. We will also go for product complaint against kitchen aid if it is not resolved asap.. We hope you understand our situation (i. E after paying for cad 5099 we are struggling for good product from kitchen aid).
Thanking you in advance for your help.

master service agreement/ no lemon guarantee
2017 - Kitchenaid Icemaker. Less than year old.
Stopped working less than six months in.
Four months of run around with Sears including:
6 calls to Sears service desk (including one call over 2 hours)
Nine technician visits (plus two no shows) = 11 days waiting at home
Four parts replaced
Over Four months still no ice
Sears says it still doesn't qualify as a lemon under they policy. They want another service call and repair try and then they will review to consider it. Seriously? Nine onsite tech visits without repair and still not lemon under your policy? Seriously?

dishwasher
Dishwasher is almost a year old and not cleaning over 50% of the dishes. We've tried emptying filter, buying several dishwasher cleaner products, shop vaccing the drain, and different soap products. Nothing seems to help. We have to hand wash every load. Pictures are from last load. Food residue plus a grit over everything. Even soap doesn't wash off door. Purchased from lowes. Please advise!

refrigerator
We purchased a new Kitchen Aid refrigerator on Jan 29 2017. In June it began to have issues and stopped making ice. I started calling the customer service line after researching on the internet what the problem might be, ie. frozen line, poor water pressure...etc. None of these seem to work to resolve the issue so I called the customer service line. The first call seemed to work okay, they were going to contact their closest appliance repair shop and have them come take a look. Later that day the repair shop contacted me and said they wouldn't fix our appliance because we purchased it from Bray and Scarff. So i call the customer support line again letting them know we were make to square one. They were surprised by the appliance repair store making such a bold statement. That's were the problems started they refused to contact another store, saying they had no one in the area... wanted to know if we lived in a remote region. We actually live 20-25 minutes from Washington DC. Weeks have passed and I was still calling to ask the status for our repair, they continue to tell me they were unable to locate anyone to come to our house because it is so remote. Again, we live 20-25 minutes outside of Washington DC. When I requested they replace my refrigerator they actually said to me... "if we do that who will repair that one? we won't keep replacing your refrigerator" I asked again how i can get my fridge repaired and their response was to ask me if I have contacted anyone. They would reimburse me $150 for repairs...I was flabbergasted They said they'd made multiple calls and are unable to find anyone that would come to such a remote location... again we're not remote, less that 30 minutes to multiple city areas. So 6 weeks later I'm still without ice and no closer to any resolution and so frustrated.
microwave
When building my home three years ago, I selected all KitchenAid appliances for my kitchen and Whirlpool appliances for my laundry. I have been very disappointed in the quality of the products. I have had issues with the stovetop and refrigerator. Those where fixed as they were under warranty. I then had issues with the washing machine and was not covered and had to pay for the repair. The microwave was having issues immediately, but started working properly, so I didn't submit a call about the microwave the first year. It would intermittently have issues. Fast forward to a month ago, it completely died. I called a reputable (Kichenaid approved repairman) and $90 later, he said it was not repairable and that is was a manufacture defect. As you can seen in the picture below, the wires were not tight and were loose from the beginning. Thus explaining the on and off again performance. I immediately called KitchenAid after he left and was told to send an email and picture. Which I did. Had to followup and was told it was never received. At that point was told that don't bother because it won't be covered as they don't care about microwaves..? I guess they are considered "disposable" items. How offending is that? I could have bought a cheap one at Walmart if that was the attitude of the product...unreal. I was told to call the retail outlet that I purchased the appliances from. So I called Factory Direct Appliances in Omaha NE and they were no help either. So another frustrating dead end. So today I feel I have no choice but to purchase a new microwave. You can be assured it won't be a KitchenAid or Whirlpool. I will never again purchase any items from these two brands. I will also be telling this story to all my friends and family. I don't want them to go through this. This has probably been one of my top worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
upon your request, I immediately sent the above information, but haven't heard anything back...not even an acknowledgement of receiving my email...?

customer ticket # [protected]
I bought my KitchenAid refrigerator March 2017 and the refrigerator has not worked from the day I bought it. I have had several technicians come to service the refrigerator and numerous parts have been ordered for the appliance, but so far the refrigerator has not been fixed.
Today (Aug. 7, 2017) I called [protected] and referenced the above ticket and after some discussion the representative whom I talked to hung up on me after I requested to speak to someone else (supervisor).
rebate scam - stand up mixer
I purchased a KitchenAid Mixer from Kohl's in December 2016, in large part due to the $50 rebate offered. I submitted all required information. The KitchenAid rebate center shows they rec'd everything on 1/16/17 (well within the established rebate window). They are denying the rebate because "the request did not contain a postmark date or it was illegible." Clearly, it was rec'd into their system prior to the rebate cutoff date, so what difference does the postmark make? In addition, how am I to insure that the USPS postmark is clear once it gets to KitchenAid? KitchenAid says they mailed me a notice regarding this, as if i could somehow produce another postmark anyway, but i never got such a letter. And now, when i finally remember i never got my rebate, it's too late, the rebate offer is closed. RIDICULOUS!
mixer pack 1 with grinder and food processor
I have twice used the grinder attachment and twice it has worked like it was the dullest most useless grinder in the world. I tried to grind ham. alright I thought when it didn't work well, I will remove the skin, this is a processed ham by the way not really the ham with a bone in it, although the first time was that kind of ham and it didn't work either. It plugs, it spits the ham across the room if you try to put a little pressure on it or if you are standing in the way it spits it on you when it does come through. The internal grinder does not grind and then the meat gets stuck in the outer blade which also does not cut the meat. This is the worst attachment ever. I love my mixer and was so happy to receive this pack for Christmas last year, now I don't even want to take it out of the box.
