KIA Motors review: Poor service
I booked my Mitsubishi Triton in with the dealer for a mechanical issue that had already been identified and subsequently confirmed by the dealership.
After completing the repair, I received a call advising that the vehicle was ready for collection. However, the following day I noticed a fluid leak beneath the vehicle. Upon inspection, I found that the leak originated from the engine compartment.
When I opened the bonnet, I discovered that a coolant hose had been disconnected. I also noticed that several parts removed during the repair process had been left inside the vehicle.
I immediately contacted the dealership, and fortunately they dispatched the mechanic who had worked on the vehicle. The mechanic reconnected the coolant hose and removed the old belt that had been left in the engine compartment.
At the time, the mechanic explained that the fan belt had pushed against the coolant hose, causing it to become disconnected. While the issue was rectified, I remain concerned that the vehicle was returned to me in this condition, as the disconnected coolant hose could have resulted in engine overheating and serious mechanical damage had the problem not been detected promptly.
Furthermore, the fact that removed parts were left in the vehicle raises concerns regarding the quality of workmanship and the final inspection process before the vehicle was released to me.
This experience raises concerns about the level of supervision and technical training provided to technicians. The fact that a previously confirmed fault was not properly resolved before the vehicle was returned suggests possible shortcomings in workmanship, quality assurance, or management oversight within the service department.
Claimed loss: I did not claim for any loss
Desired outcome: Improved checks on quality service
