I purchased a brand new washer and dryer in 2021. After less than 3 years, the dryer broke - it ran continuously unless you left the door open. I paid 2/3 the cost of the unit to have it repaired.
Now, after less than 5 years, the washer is broken - the power button will not operate, rendering the unit completely inoperable. The repairman said it is a common failure, and that a new button would cost the SAME as a new washer, with no guarantee that the same failure would occur again.
This set of appliances are complete lemons, and I will never purchase a Kenmore Elite product again.
Claimed loss: I paid $1200 for the original purchase, $450 to repair the dryer, and $100 to diagnose the washer (still not repaired), for a total of $1750. Received less than 5 years of service.
Desired outcome: Replacement, or repair (at no cost) with a warranty on the repair.
