Here is a revised and professional complaint email you can send to Jiffy Lube and Atlantic Coast Enterprises LLC:
Subject: Demand for Refund and Notice of Small Claims Court Filing
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Vickie Phillips, and I reside at 6463 Overbrook Shortcut Road, Nichols, SC 29581.
I am writing to formally request a refund for the brake work performed on my 2013 Dodge Journey at Jiffy Lube Store #3341, located at 1711 Church Street, Conway, SC 29526, which is operated by Atlantic Coast Enterprises LLC.
On September 5, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., I brought my vehicle to your Conway location for an oil change and to have the front passenger-side brakes repaired. I was not informed that Jiffy Lube would replace multiple brake components instead of only the brake pads. I was charged for the following items:
Brake pads/shoes: $274.99
Rotor: $274.99
Brake caliper: $164.00
Brake line: $45.25
Shop supplies: $49.97
The total amount charged was $713.98.
I believe I was overcharged for the services performed, and I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of the repair work. Following the brake service, my vehicle has experienced ongoing problems with the front passenger-side wheel. Specifically, the brake caliper continues to stick when the brakes become hot, causing the wheel and braking system to malfunction.
As a result of these issues, I was forced to take my vehicle to another automotive repair shop to have the brakes corrected. Additionally, I returned the brake caliper provided by Jiffy Lube because I informed your staff that it was the wrong caliper for my vehicle. Despite returning the part, I did not receive any refund or credit.
Furthermore, Jiffy Lube kept my vehicle overnight from Saturday, September 5, 2026, until Sunday, September 6, 2026, requiring me to arrange transportation home and back to the shop. I was able to pick up my vehicle only around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Based on the circumstances outlined above, I am requesting a full refund of the charges related to the brake repair. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I intend to file a claim in South Carolina Small Claims Court seeking reimbursement for the repair costs, additional expenses incurred, and any other damages permitted by law.
Please ensure that this email is provided to the appropriate representatives of both Jiffy Lube Store #3341 and Atlantic Coast Enterprises LLC. I would appreciate a written response regarding this matter as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Vickie Phillips
