1&1 Ionos review: Ionos 1&1 are a rippoff and a highly unethical company

Ionos 1&1 are unethical thieves!

I was a customer of Ionos 1&1 for 10 years. I had registered about a dozen domain names with them but this year, I prompted ChatGPT as to which webhosting /domain name registrar has the cheapest yearly renewal rates and the best reputation and ChatGPT gave me PorkBun. I immediately researched the price to renew a domain name on PorkBun and it was less than half the price of Ionos. Ionos was ripping me off for 10 years charging me $23.00 USD to renew a domain name registration and Porkbun charged me $11.00 USD to renew a domain name registration. So as my domain names were on the Ionos platform as they were coming up for renewal, I transferred them out of Ionos and onto the Porkbun platform. However back in April as I transferred 2 of my domain names from Ionos to Porkbun, Ionos sent me an invoice of $46.00 USD saying I owed them this $46.00 USD even after I had transferred these 2 domain names over to Porkbun. But wait it even gets worse, these Ionos unethical thieves went so far as to hire a collection agency to come after me for the $46.00 USD. It was at this point that I got very angry and called Ionos and said WTF? How can Ionos say I owed them $46.00 USD for 2 of the domain names I had already transferred over to Porkbun before the due expiry dates. To make sure Ionos would never debit my USD visa credit card again, I called my bank and asked them to cancel my then USD visa credit card and issue me a new one with different numbers. Yet Ionos kept hounding me for the new updated credit card but I didn't give it to them because I had no intention of doing business with these unethical Ionos thieves again. Bottom line I wish I would have discovered Porkbun years ago, I would have saved myself hundreds of dollars in what the Ionos thieves charged me to renew my domain names.
