Double charges
Every so often this happens. They double charge you. I'm not talking about the hold amount. They actually double charge you for the entire purchase. I chatted online and got nowhere. Ended up in limbo waiting for a manager. I believe they do this to inflate their numbers. We need to file a class action lawsuit against bad practices. Large companies, like this will do nothing to change. It is obviously an issue with them. To hold people's money hostage for x number of days shouldn't happen. You shouldn't be double charged period and it needs to stop. Join me in filing a class action lawsuit.
Recommendation: Use KROGER not this shitty company.
No delivery and they think giving me a credit and making me reorder is acceptable - just awful customer service!
I like shopping at Costco but not going into the store. Instacart is a good alternative except when they don't deliver my stuff but charge may anyway. Customer service is a total joke! Their attitude is that if they give me a credit or make me wait a week for a refund, I should be happy. I'm not!
The warehouse is open another 1.5 hours and they should go get my stuff and deliver today! But nope! Again, their attitude is that they are doing me a favor giving me a credit. Now I've got to reorder and the stuff won't arrive until tomorrow.
And asking for a manager? That results in getting put on hold and the call is never picked up!

I placed a Costco order for delivery today from 6-8 pm. I get home and the delivery at 6:19 was never made! I've been on the phone with Instacart customer service since 6:45 and they won't fix the problem. Their only solution is to give me a credit or make me wait a week for a refund. Since the warehouse is open another 1.5 hours, they should go get my purchase and deliver today. But no! Customer service won't do that! They also won't let me talk with a manager. I've tried twice now. I get put on hold and the call is never answered. Truly awful customer service!

It's not very smart to use Instacart
The shoppers forget items in the store or offer poor replacements or just refund you without offering you an option to chose a replacement.If you complaint too many times about missing items they will block your account.You can still make purchases and pay Instacart monthly subscription but no refunds will be issued to you regardless of what took place.They have been sending shoppers lately who speak zero English making the delivery process extremely stressful.Ive been using them since the 2020 pandemic hit .I am disabled and it was convenient but now the service has gone extremely down hill.I will not.longer use them

I did Instacart the favor of paying for a customer's order when the app crashed and their credit card was declined. The app wouldn't give me the option to contact support, either, and I ended up having to delete it and redownload it to use it again. I got a request from customer_experience@instacart.com for a copy of the receipt and details, since I couldn't get the "request reimbursement" option to work. I sent the information back to them a month ago and again last week and have not received a response or reimbursement. There is no phone number or email support for shoppers - the only option is to use their "chat support," which has gotten me nowhere. I've been told the same thing by four different agents - that they would escalate my case - and that has done absolutely nothing for me. How do they get away with this? What kind of operation are they running?

Instacart expects shoppers to spend a half-hour shopping - or more - and then drive 30 miles round-trip for the delivery, and doesn't even pay $1 per mile for the 15 mile drive to the customer! Impossible to profit with this company unless you luck out and get a high tip from a customer. On top of that, they have nothing except chat support with agents in some foreign country, which is basically useless. I don't know how they keep any shoppers. Terrible company.
Instacart's high fees for customers and low pay for shoppers is why they profited $457 million in 2024. Customers and Shoppers: Stop lining their corporate pockets when all you get in return is high fees, poor service, low pay, and poor support!

The charges that you pay for if they use long distance for your order
If you place an order it’s placed with local store not further away like Walmart. I can see if I placed order for a store that is further away to get charged but not knowing that it will come from another store further away is misleading. We dont know this till it’s on its way. Also on one of my orders the tip was changed without me changing it. Also not sure what this in the photo all this additional charges

I called customer service the guy didn't speak English. He looked at my old accounts which I had asked to close. He wasn't understanding and it was frustrating so I hung up the phone.
815pm I called and got another girl. She said the same thing, but my account is not closed because I used it Sunday night so nobody can find the credit.
To be honest, I wanted to use the services again and maybe even sign up. I had signed up during surgery and it was very helpful.
If someone could get to the bottom of it and find out where the Credit was, I was happy to use it tonight.

MISTREATED, DEGRADED AND DISRESPECTFUL. I had a terrible experience with Instacart. I paid a delivery fee for $4 and service fee of $8. 30% of my order was not fulfilled. Many of the items were either missing or rotten. When I raised a complaint against it, Instacart blacklisted my account that I can't get a refund anymore. This is against the costumer violation and disrespectful. There are better services available outside. Don't use their service.

Instacart delivery
I have an annual Instacart membership. I place an order for Basha's grocery store at 5am on Sunday and chose a delivery range of 10am-1pm. A shopper was assigned to my order around 11:30and she started to shop it, making 2 refunds for out of stock items, as shopped.
By about 12:30pm she abandoned the order. I can not tell when a replacement shopper picked it up but my order was not delivered until about 3:30pm.
I was also told half the items in my order were out of stock. I wonder if the shopper went to a different Basha's. The amount of time I had to stay home waiting for the delivery was vastly unacceptable.
Not only was I stuck at hoe for almost 6 hours, but I now have to go to a grocery store to get the items that were supposedly out of stock in my order.
The customer service rep I called told me he could only credit me 5.00 because that was policy. I complained to the BBB and stated I wanted the entire order refunded and that I had only received a 5.00 credit.
An Instacart rep responded to the BBB complaint and told me I got a 5.00 credit that was all I would get.
I realize Instacart does not care about their image or their customers, but allowing shoppers to drop your order after hours and then making people wait for close to 6 hours for a delivery is not what I signed up for.
I rely on this service, as a person with trouble walking, and I found the responses of Instacart despicable.
I want a full refund of my order minus the 5.00 credit they gave me, so I want 15.00.

Instacart shopper ignored my request & unable to resolve with customer service
I ordered pickup with Aldi using instacart and my shopper stated that the family pack of chicken was unavailable so they got me one pack of regular chicken. I asked them how many were in a pack and they replied right away “6”. I then immediately responded please get 2 packages (we are a large family of 6). Then 10 minutes later without a reply the shopper checked out without getting the extra package of chicken. I then called the provided number for instacart and the representative basically said they cannot help me and I would have to get the package myself. I have 4 kids and one of the kids is a newborn and that is why I did not want to go inside the store. I am very disappointed in the customer service response and also the shopper ignoring my request. This will be my last time using instacart or pick up.

Locked my account and took my money!
December 22, 2023 I purchased an Instacart gift card, set up an IC account and used it to purchase a gift to be delivered to a friend. The shoppoer reached out to me and told me the gift I wanted was no longer available and the other option was $100 more. I texted back "No, that's too much". But before she could tell me next option, she made the more expensive option, and attempted to deliver the item. My friend never received it! I made an online complaint about the whole situation. Instacart refunded me $112 out of $150 BUT! they then locked my account because they needed to see my credit card and drivers license. I was skeptical about doing that bc I didn't use my credit card with them at all! I used a gift card that was purchased from a 3rd party retailer. I finally agreed to submit the info, and did so on 3 different occassions. The account was never unlocked! I spent 4 weeks back and fourth arguing with the company abt the issue, and finally received the notice below:Hello,

Unable to reactivate account
I am soon to be 82 years old.
About three weeks ago, my account was mysteriously cancelled after I had the secondary delivery address before checking out at which time, the order and account were both cancelled. I submitted and resubmitted the requested copies of credit card and driver's license. Despite ongoing email exchanges, I am still not able to reactivate my account as I am unable to confirm an order that I supposedly made at the end of April 2023. I've endeavoured to deal with the security folks at [protected]@instacart.com to no avail as I am unable to locate that particular order although I can identify a host of other ones subsequent to that date.
I am sure any questions can be resolved by way of a telephone conversation, but I have no response on that suggestion.
What can I do to reactivate my account as this experience has been a total an absolute nightmare tying both myself and my assistant's time up to no avail.
Please reactivate my account so that I couldn't continue purchasing much-needed meals.

Ordering from Costco through Instacart

I am trying to place a same day Costco order, thinking it would be simpler than going to Costco with my toddler on a rainy Saturday. Using the Costco site, I am unable to log into Instacart. So I go to instacart directly and attempt to log in. I try an old account but then remember they locked that account for “fraud” back in 2020 and I vowed to never use the site again….until now when it sounds WAY more convenient…which is supposed to be the point of the company….
I sign up for a new account using a different email address, place my order, and then receive a text stating my order has been cancelled. After a little digging I see that I failed to confirm my email address for the new account. So I attempt to sign up with my work email and this time, successfully confirm my email address. I place my order and immediately click the link to share photos of my ID and CC to prove I am who I say I am. Before I can finish this process, I get another text stating my order is cancelled. What a racket. I’m doing everything I can to be their customer. I’m done now. How are they still in business?!

Hello back around 8/7/23 I recieved a giftcard in the amount of $57.50 for Instacart, I opened an account under the email address [protected]@outlook.com and proceeded to shop and buy things that was needed for my home from the Family Dollar store I not only used the entire gift card but also used money from my own Bank to pay the remainder amount due on my bill, immediately after I placed the order my order was canceled which I tried again and got the same results I decided to contact customer service to ask why and they immediately started saying g my account was shutdown and I can not use their service and told me that I could not recieve my money back that my account was locked and they can't access my funds. Instacart+ Subscription
I purchased an Instacart+ subscription on Dec 26th. After purchasing it and my first grocery order I was unable to access my account. This is not due to a forgotten password or incorrect email. Typically when I sign into Instacart I'm given the option to choose between my personal profile or my business profile. This was no longer the case. My business profile has completely disappeared. That is the profile that holds my instacart+ subscription. I contacted the help line via phone and the chat option online, several times. I was referred to the technical support team..Twice. Once I explain my issue to anyone at Instacart I get radio silence. No responses. One member of the support team just told me there was nothing I could do and to purchase another membership. I was charged $111.87 on Dec 26th and I have been unable to access my account since nor have I received any assistance from anyone at Instacart to help rectify the situation.

Delivery order never received but was charged
I placed a delivery order through Kroger.com on 1.05.24 @11:30am. I received a text message stating that the delivery time would be between 12:15-1:15pm. I then received a text advising that my shopper (Alissa R.) had started working on my order. Next message was telling me she'd checked out, and I got a receipt way before the order was delivered. The order time was updated to 2:30pm. My delivery instructions state: Please ring the doorbell when delivered, and I am fine with the groceries being left in front of my door. It also includes the building number and apartment number. I got a text from the driver @2:29pm that included a picture of an apartment building that was clearly not mines, and there were absolutely no groceries in the picture. She not only charged my card for the groceries, but she also got her shoppers tip, and used all of my rewards that I cannot get back from the store to use on an order I would actually receive. This is the second time one of your drivers have done this to me. You may want to screen the individuals thoroughly so that these types of situations do not end in a lawsuit.

a spoiled duck i purchased wouldn't give me refund
I am complaining about a spoiled duck i purchased and they wouldn't give me a refund. Because i have request several refund because i have been getting out of dated items and defected. I think i am entitled to my refund because store are not supposed to be selling rotten meat. That is the law but if you don't return my refund i am taking you to court
