We don't know much about how IHOP handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. IHOP discriminatory service

On Sunday, December 24 I was at the IHOP at Dallas Fort Worth international Airport terminal E. the manager on duty at 12 noon that day, told me that I could have breakfast at the bar when I went to the bar the bartender told me that they did not serve breakfast and that I had to go back to the tables. When I went back and told the manager the manager did not Nothing. Absolutely nothing. . I have been a pAtron of IHOP for over 40 years. This type of service is not acceptable able. And discriminatory.

IHOP entire ihop experience

There is a new IHOP at 99th Ave & Happy Valley rd which opened the end of November. I have tried numerous IHOPs over the years and decided due to poor customer service that I would boycott them. There is a new one in our neighborhood and My daughter called in an order tonight 12-20-17 and I picked it up. When I got there the woman asked if she could help and I explained I was there to pick up an order for Becky. She came back out and said there wasn't one so I called my daughter to see if she called the right store. THe young man just got off the phone and I asked if it was for Becky. He said yes uh do you still want it? I said well I am here to pick it up. He had problems inputting into the register and a girl named JoJo helped him thank goodness. So I am sitting waiting for my order and finally it comes. It was $34.18 which I paid. Due to dealing with the incompetent person at the front I checked to make sure it was there. No pancakes so I told him and he then went to the kitchen and got them. No pancake syrup. NO Silverware. when I got home everyone was so disappointed. THe confetti pancakes tasted really bad, the egg was overcooked and the bacon was not cooked thoroughly. The sausage was disgusting and didn't have a good taste to it. The stuffed French toast (strawberry) was not like it shows on TV and tasted crappy. the Omelet was OK. I called the store and spoke with a person named David who said he was the manager (which I really doubted). he apologized and I was really shocked he didn't offer to replace the food that was bad. How disappointing was this but IHOP has lived up to it's name for HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will spread the word about this new store and tell my horror story to all that will listen plus put it on social media. I am also going to file a complaint with the health department about the bacon not being cooked thoroughly. No wonder this establishment didn't have many customer's. I am so disgusted right now that our dinner was ruined, the lack of service I received and the poor service that was provided. Is it a requirement to provide crappy service when you go to an IHOP as there have been numerous ones where the same stuff happens. When you dine in they give you the silverware after your food has been delivered and then it's cold by the time they give it to you. IHOP IS RATED #1 IN POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

IHOP unprofessional management

Me and my Husband visited the IHOP on Dysart and Van Buren. During the visit we exposed to what appeared to be a hostile work environment. The manager was openly yelling at a cook and as well as reprimanding 2 servers within ear shot and all of this was followed up by a restaurant wide meeting that caused our food to take 50 Minutes For a table of 2. When my order finally came my order was wrong and had to wait an additional 5 minutes. The manager, Ellie, then did not apologize or even acknowledge the 2 other patrons in the establishment which included me and my husband and another table of 5. I will not be returning to this location.

IHOP service

I walked into the IHOP on 3130 S memorial in Tulsa... waited to be seated... No waitresses walk up us... we wait and then another couple walked in and everyone came to the front and said that couple... so we wait there still... about 3 guest where seated before we where helped... All those guess where white and race... Me and my wife are black couple from Miami Florida... I feel it shouldn't matter what color just to be seated to eat breakfast... I will not return at all

IHOP I got terminated for no reason

on Dec 10 I was choked by an IHOP employee and they fired me for whatever reason I hv no idea, but tha employee that choked me was rehired, but got fired for hitting another employee wit a plate in his face, my thing is if it's company policy how did he get rehired, and all so the manager was out there fighting and she still got her job, I don't feel like I was treated fairly because if like I said it's company policy then neither of them should have been there, all I'm saying is right is right and wrong is wrong, cause if proper portalcal had been handled they would not have even been there and I would still have my job, I was good at my job I loved wat I did for this company but I lost my job because of the misjudgment or mishandling of paper work and going by the books

IHOP manager and server

the i hope resturant on hamond lousiana the service so bad with atotut and when we aske for the manger they said the service his girle frind her name nure and the manger nathin and one of the server she said he is druge delar and sle druges of the property we felt so bad for the owner but we well never go back its so bad for your company to have manger with crimnal recourd and we well never go to any ihop any more weekend friday 8 2017 night shift manger

IHOP customer service and food

We went to IHOP last night with a group of 12. We were told the food wouldn't be too long and we were seated at 11:15. After that, our food was not brought to our table until 1:05 with the people telling us consistently that the food was either almost done or ready but it still never came. Then when it finally did. Half of our plates were cold, bacon was dropped on the ground and then no new prices were brought. Some meals weren't even eaten because they were soggy for being ready for so long and not brought to the table. By the time we got our food, we were just wanting to leave and not even eat or pay. This experience was absolutely horrible and we will probably never go back. Never have I been to a restaurant that took almost 2 hours to get food from the time we ordered to it being on the table.

IHOP truck stop ihops

If you're going to take up space in truck stops, these are places truckers CAN park, HAVE BEEN GOING TO FOR YEARS, and depend upon IN AND OUT service! Having to wait in long lines to eat when we are on schedules is NOT a warm fuzzy! If it weren't for truckers, please tell me how IHOP would operate without truckers delivering the foodstuffs you serve?!

IHOP poor customer service & unsatisfied customers

We came to eat and my friend ordered a sand which that came with rye bread( he didn't want the rye bread), well we asked for the bread to be took off and replaced with other bread not only did they take the bread off but they also took almost all of the meat and then told us that we will be charged extra for the meat to be put back on the sandwhich! We asked to talk to the manager she comes over and tells us that because the rye bread was thicker and bigger that is why all of the meat was on the sandwhich like that but because they changed the bread they had to take the meat away, but we where still gonna be charged for the same sandwhich plus charged extra because they have to put meat back on the sandwhich that was already on it! Because we didn't want to pay for meat that was already on a sandwhich they took off in the first place the manager brings us a ticket for the drinks and takes both our meals off the table and tells us we can pay at the front. Very disrespectful and she (the manager) didn't care to resolve our issue. Whitney Ruff and Kaitlin Jeffers was who we dealt with and I'm disgusted!

IHOP sausage

Ihop off Forest lane in Dallas TX
I asked for sausage links well done.
Lazy [censor] cook deep fried them.
Waiter actually brought them out to me.
Looked in the kitchen for someone to tell n there is lazy [censor] cook w hands in pockets.
Mngr did have them recooked.
The time it took for me to get mngr to voice the complaint eggs were cold.
Sucky start to someones day.

IHOP service - poor

Tonight my family went to IHOP in Sulphur Springs to eat. My husband ordered 2 eggs over easy, he got one hard cooked egg. Bacon was missing. He asked for it and it arrived at the end of the meal. My children requested ketchup and Picanto sauce which arrived at the end of the meal also. My son asked for gravy which he never got. The waitress came by with the check. My husband gave her $60 for a $41 bill and we never saw her again. If this were the first or only time it would be one thing but this is every single time we eat there. This restaurant has the poorest service ever.

IHOP service

Me and my five year old daughter went to eat lunch. The waitress was very short with me. Whereas the college students that were a different color were met with a smile courtesy and willingness to serve them and keep them happy with her service.She introduced herself to the other customers but never to me. She never came to offer refills. I am a African American and I work hard and my money and time is as important as anyone else's. But due to this experience this was the first and the last time we will ever go to this restaurant.

IHOP service

I visited ihop in franklin tn on Dec 5 2017. When we were seated the table was dirty after being seated we waited 20 mins! And not a single person came to our table and asked us about drinks or greeted us. The waitress walked past us 4 time and never spoke a word. She also brought the people beside us food and drinks (which were messed up) and still never spoke a word. We got up and left and still noone cared to loose business. I will definitely tell people this place is a joke and a waste of money. I will never return to ihop again id rather go to waffle house.

IHOP managers

Went to eat at ihop in clovis nm december 2 around 10:30pm, I overheard a tall slim hispanic male being a rude to one of his servers that was helping the other servers, she was taking people their food and went to the front where the food is kept to grab more and the manager told her "when you get here you need to check peoples [censor]" the young server told him nothing was filled up and she will do it which she did do, when the manager walked off I heard him say a rude comment about the young lady. This namager straight up called the young girl a [censor]. She seemed like she wanted to cry. You could tell just by looking at the young lady. This manager needs to get fired or something. That is no way to talk to you employees especially when they were helping someone else out!

IHOP customer service

On Friday, 24 November, my family of 8 went to visit IHOP and arrived at 11:30am. At 11:35, we were told it will be a 20 minute wait. After 30 minutes, I asked how much longer? Kylee acted like she forgot and said another 10 minutes. At 12:20, it was really upsetting to continue waiting. I had asked Kylee could she not had put two tables together to accommodate my family, especially since two of my nieces are 6 months pregnant? She said, "I am not allowed to do that and there is another IHOP down the street." Now, I am furious! I asked to see the manager who's name is Miguel. Normally, I am pretty patient. Being in the military, I always look at every angle and see if there is a solution. After explaining to Miguel that we have been waiting almost an hour and Kylee indirectly told us to go to another IHOP, I was really upset. His response was, "So what do you want me to do?" This is a manager? I'm sorry, but IHOP needs to train their employees better and send their managers to managerial training.

IHOP food and service

Our server was rude and didn't serve us very well we ordered food and I made a mistake and she looked at me rudely while proceeding to write it down. She asked if I would like my plate split with the other person with me and when she brought us out our food it was cold and there wasn't much at all I compared it to the last few times we split it and it seemed as if they took some away from our plates

IHOP horrible and racially motivated poor service

My family and I arrived at 10:30 am to restaurant for breakfast in good spirits. After being seated in 15 Minutes, we arrived at our table. A middle age blond hair Caucasian waitress took our order. This was after walking by our table back and forth 4 times. We gave our drink order (coffees and water). She brought those back in about 7-10 Minutes.

A whopping 60 minutes later (according to my phones timer), she attempted to bring our breakfast making excuses the whole time blaming the kitchen, whereas the same kitchen had prepared and sent our at least 3 other tables that we observed that was seated after us.

It appears that we were the victims this morning of outright and blatant discrimination due to our ethnic background. We are African-American, and we observe the waitress serving other tables of patrons of a different races and them getting much more attentive service.

My husband asked to see the manager who apparently didn't value our customer complaint and did not bother to come to our table to address the issue. Instead the manager sent a host who said to us that the manager was on the phone.

Their behavior is totally unresponsive leaving us no choice but to contact our attorney; however I wanted to inform corporate of how badly we had been treated at iHop Restaurant in Southaven, MS. We are outraged by this incident.

IHOP management

We visited your Ihop store in the villages on Wednesday the 15th of November and started out with our server being Jessica and then ended up with a server named Erica which also did a lot of other tables. We all looked at each and observed the server Jessica just walk off and leave the restaurant while she was serving us. Overheard our new server Erica and a older lady with short blonde hair say that this is like the 9-10th time that she has walked off in the middle of her shift, that it seems to be a once a month thing and nothing is ever done to her because she happens to be the bosses girlfriend and how it won't effect her because he still pays her minimum wage until she decides to come back. My table and a couple of other tables all looked at each other like come back she left us and she can come back? This is normal? Well we aren't used to this kind of normal and Jessica ended up being rude and having bad attitude and if she didn't think that her customers were watching then she was wrong! This is all wrong and we just got in from Connecticut and this is usually our breakfast spot but not if this is gonna keep on happening. Just thought I would pass on our experience on to you! Thank You!

Did you ask for a supervisor? It might not result in anything, but hearing from customers would probably resonate more strongly with management than hearing from employees (sadly).

IHOP long wait and bad customer service

On Sunday, November 19, 2017 around 11:45AM, I left IHOP due to the long wait and lack professionalism among the staff. When I arrived to meet my father at 11:20AM, who had been waiting for 25 minutes prior to my arrival, there were no hosts or cashiers to greet me or the 8 people that were standing near the podium when I arrived. There were over 30 people in the waiting area and some families left. During this time no one came to check on us or explain why the wait to be seated was taking so long. I noticed that as families who finished eating were leaving and tables were being cleans off no one was coming to seat us. Even the person bringing to go orders did not acknowledge anyone waiting but the person receiving food. After 10 minutes a waitress walked up to the host booth, peeked at the list and walked back without saying anything to us waiting. After another 10 minutes an employee (not a manager) came to look at the list of people waiting when approached by a customer to see when people would be seated. The employee had an attitude and complained that they were going to leave because they couldn't take this. When the customer stated that there were tables and they should be seated the employee replied, "I don't know how many times I have to tell y'all for y'all to understand that the cook is not producing orders fast enough and if I seat you all then you will be waiting for your food for over an hour." The employee was still talking to the customer with the same attitude and tone when I left.

This is just one of the incidents that I've encountered. Many times I've witnessed people walk out due to the wait or the hosts or cashier would be complaining in front of customers.I've seen customers be seated and then forgotten about after they've waited for 30 minutes to be seated. Also, I've never seen a manager come to alleviate any of the waiting conflicts or help speed things up. The waitresses typically do not help out and ignore customers in the waiting area.

The wait is understandable, but none of the employees seem to know how to diffuse angry customers or talk with empathy to customers.

My resolution recommendation: I would like for IHOP headquarters to send uncover managers or directors to dine at this IHOP location and evaluate it. I believe IHOP directors and officers need to revamp the entire staff at this location to make the dining experience more pleasant. Perhaps customer training workshops or seminars. If that cannot happen then that location should be closed since it is starting to receive a bad reputation. I will no longer eat that the Laburnum IHOP location.
