I have a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, we purchased it in 01/30/2021 with about 67000 miles on it. At 85487 The ad to replace the engine due to an engine issue that they are aware of with these engine. There was no issue with the repairs. At around 115985 the engine failed again with the same issues. Loss of power, engine would not go over 2000 RPMs. When brought it in Hyundai asked for miniatous records to show that oil changes were made. I do my own work and they refused to change the engine because I couldn't provide the records at the time the decision was made. There is no way the engine should have failed with only 30498 mile on it after the change out. When they changed the engine back at 85487 I asked if the issue was fixed and was assured that it was. I then asked "if this happens again is it covered." The response was we will have to see. Should have know better and should have sold the car. I have also found out that some of their engines are now having issue with burning oil. that they are well aware of. Corporate is making the dealerships change the oil, have the owner drive the vehicle for a 1000 miles. Then bring it back to the dealership for them to test and see if it is actually burning oil and them make a decision about any repairs. I can say that i will never purchase another Hyundai or Kia again. The reason for the Kia comment is they are affiliated with Hyundai and use the same engines. If you have one best of luck with it.
Recommendation: Don't purchase a car from them
