non refund of unauthorised £125 from account
my grandmother was viewing a supposedly free dating site and was shocked to learn that global personals had deducted £125 from her account. She then had the misfortune of becoming ill and was admitted to hospital. Upon her telling me what had happened, she asked if i could contact them to request a refund as she was worried she would not be able to cover her bills being on a pension, adding to the huge amount of stress she was already under. I spoke with a lady at global, who at first denied all knowledge of the money being charged, was explained the situation and referred me to her colleague. The second lady then assured me that under the circumstances i need not worry as she had refunded the total amount and said that the money would go back into my grandmothers account instantly. A week later and still no refund! STAY AWAY FROM GLOBAL PERSONALS AND ALL THEIR ASSOCIATES - SCAMMERS! - Emma
Huskies56: If you have been the victim of card fraud we suggest you immediately contact your bank who with our help will investigate the transaction. When a card fraud like this happens we are as much a victim as you are so we will assist with any prosecution that is brought. Information on how to identify our transactions, what they are for and how to deal with card fraud can be found here: www.gpl-cc.com. support@globalpersonals.co.uk
I had NEVER EVER heard of Global Personals until I saw a payment to them taken by a debit card from my account which at the time the payment was taken was locked away in my safe ! I was outraged and want to know how the hell this company have mnanaged to debit a card when I have never transacted with them in my life. I use my card very rarely as I am on a very low income. I looked up this company on the internet and was horrified to see that it is a dating site, Clearly I have been skimmed or whatever the modern day terminology is but how can that happen when the card was locked away and not used for ages and ages anywhere ? My bank have been very helpful about this but that is NOT the point. I would love to get hold of the alleged "Dater" who has stolen my card details and they would be listening to a few very non lovey dovey words from me to say the least !
All card transactions are verified through the bank screening services and we rely on them to validate card authenticity. If you are unsure of the reason why we appear on your credit card statement go to this website www.gpl-cc.com, it will explain who we are, why you have been billed and what you should do about it if you think you have been the genuine victim of card fraud. It also has copies of our Terms and Conditions for you to read. When you subscribe to one of our sites, you are informed that it is a repeat billing subscription which can be cancelled at any time by following the instructions on the website.
To Emma (emh85): In order to subscribe and for us to deduct any payments from your grandmother's card she would have had to select the upgrade option and then enter all her credit or debit card details and possibly her 3DSecure bank authorisation details before her bank would allows us to draw funds. Any refunds we authorise would take between 3 to 5 working days to arrive depending on your bank, so 'a week later' may not have been enough time.
To 'Unauthorisedrefunds': This practice would be impossible for us to do because the card handling authorities would not allow us the means to do so, however you may have been the victim of genuine card fraud. We cannot report that to the issuing bank only the card holder can. By telling you to report this to the bank we are not only following the correct banking instructions on your behalf, but we are also following the correct banking instructions for avoiding you being accused of money laundering. Once reported to the bank they will investigate how the fraud has occurred, prevent your card from being re-used in this way and if upheld would refund the payments. We fully co-operate with the banks in identifying card fraud as it ultimately hurts us too. I'm sorry that you have expressed your opinion this way but obviously no company could get banking or credit card handling facilities if this was really the way they operated.

I was charged by Global Personals Ltd. Two separate amounts, within a few days of each other.
I have never joined a dating site. I do not subscribe to any of their publications. When I noticed the charges, I contacted them and they said that my details do not match what they have linked to may card. I asked them to refund, they refused and said for me to make my bank do a chargeback. So what did they do after I complained about the first two debits?
They then charged four new random amounts.
This is because they then knew that the random account number that they had phished was active.
This is fraud perpetrated by Global Personals as they are the only unauthorised transactions I have ever had on my credit card. No other transactions have been made, so that then proves that the one organisation responsible for fraudulent activity on my card is the debiting organisation, Global Personals.
From this, is would seem the case that Global Personals has a policy of skimming random credit card numbers hoping that people do not notice the billing, get their bank to do a random refund so that Global Personals gets to keep the cash, or that customers just let them keep it as they are not sure if they subscribed to one of their sites or not.
Global Personals have proven themselves to be credit scammers, and operate by illegally and fraudulently phishing credit card accounts.
Cancellation of Subscription
After cancelling a subscription I was stunned to have £29.95 taken from my Paypal account for membership free. It seems that with this company when you telephone in your cancellation request it only lasts until just before the next payment is due to be taken. Beware - check your messages on the site and if you open them you are not entitled to a refund. I will be taking this further, any bad press for this company will not go amiss. Dreadful customer service, patronising, and disrespectful. I advise go elsewhere for online dating.

Unauthorize debits from my credit card
Back in June of this year i rang Global Personals to cancel a subscription with them. To my surprise in October i get a call from my banks security department asking i new anything about a transaction of £60 between myself and Global Personals. I didn't and as a precaution i cancelled my card. I emailed the company who told me that without certain details they couldn't help. While i looked for these i tested the website by putting in my email to see if it recognised it, lo and behold 'no account is attached to this email address' flagged up. So it was clear i didn't have an account and that i had cancelled. Eventually, after i had given them the details needed, i was informed that " this is a repeat payment for your membership, " and was provided with a membership number. I was also told that i could cancel this between the hours of blah blah blah. I checked this number by requesting to my change password and was told an email had been sent. Again, this email never arrived, this was all wrong. Today i called them up and spoke to 'Brian' I asked him to check this membership number and he confirmed my name and email address. When I mentioned that my email wasnt recognised by the site as having an account 'Brian' told me to contact my email provider and find out why they were not getting through, LOL. Top class customer service, its the email providers fault! When i mentioned i had cancelled the service in June he asked ridiculous questions like "What date and time was that?" as if i could remember, also the had "no record of such a call". Apparently im supposed to keep records 6 months after cancelling just to be sure it's done? Eventually i got him to cancel this number, i asked for a cancellation number and was told "there is no such thing". He told me an email has been sent confirming this. GUESS WHAT? NO EMAIL HAS ARRIVED! This time i have written down the date and time and who i spoke to, because if this happens again its a legal matter. The only advice i can give is when you cancel, any emails they send confirming, keep. it's clear they don't so they can deny it later.
I have been charged the sum of £14.99 through Paypal and I cannot find out what this is for

Taking money
Dating website supposed to take a months money of £19 and then takes 3 months money £79.95 without authority. I have complained to them but they wouldnt give me a refund. These sites leave a lot to be desired. Don't use them
I have been trying for the last 6 weeks or so to cancel my subscription from this site and keep getting an error message that there is a problem with my password (necessary to confirm the cancellation of subscription) BUT it is the same password that I use to login to the website, I smell a huge scam.
I have sent several e-mails to the support desk and get an electronic (generic) response. I have also resorted to sending a registered letter to the 'mother' company in the UK and to date I have had no response electronic or otherwise
Global personals have been deducting Money from my account still Three months after i cancelled my subscription.
I cancelled as they list people in South Africa and same people are all over the world at the same time .
This whole dating game is a scam.
i sent them a request all of their website being a scam, i want my money back .
they cancelled my subscription but still taking my money this morning again (now four months after being cancelled.
Global personals have a lot of dating sites all scamming money
I joined this dating agency around May, 2017, was only on there for about a month and then cancelled as I got back together with my boyfriend.I had cancelled the dating site but have still been getting charged 99.95 AUD and $3.00 transaction fee. I have been paying it as I don't want a black mark against my name. I have tried on numerous occasions to have this payment stopped. I cancelled my credit card on 7/4/14, thinking that would stop the payments until I received another statement with the payment yesterday.
Please help me to have this cancelled and the payments stop. I am very angry that I have become part of this scam and that they can get away with it.
I have attached my statements as proof.
I hope to hear from you ASAP.
Thank you
Leonie Dunn
I was horrified when I noticed that the sum R495 had been withdrawn from my account. I do not and have not belonged to a dating website for the last six months and at that time cancelled all memberships. I have no idea who whitelabeldating is and on whose or what authority they withdrew funds from my account. This pure unadulterated stealing!
I am expecting a full apology and return of monies withdrawn.
This unlawful and unconstitutional to behave in such a manner should not be allowed and an investigation should be undertaken by the relevant authorities.
I believe I am within my legal rights to demand a refund of monies stolen from my account.
Very disgruntled!
i have had a bank statement and on the 18 jul 2017, , global personal took £59.95 out, , , i dont now what site it is for ?, , i had not been told it was being taken out of my account, , , i did not want it going out of my account at all if i had been notified i would have cancelled it, , , , my email ie a-osborne1@hotmail.co.uk
How on earth have they got my bank information? Let alone anything else... FRAUD! I want £29.95 refunded immediately!
GLOBAL PERSONALS IS DEDUCTING MONEY FOM MY CREDIT ACCOUNT ILLEGALLY. I HAVE CHANGED MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND THIS IS STILL HAPPENING. SUBSEQUENTLY I HAVE CONTACTED MY CREDIT PROVIDOR YET AGAIN AND NOTIFIED THE AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE.
I consider Global Personal conditions are unfair pursuant to The Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 for the following reasons:
-the existence of an automatic renewal clause
-The numerous blockages that are imposed to make cancellation as difficult as possible. I encountered my email instructing cancellation being ignored; not being able to cancel the subscription from the site itself (although payment can be made online), very long waiting times for the telephone number given to be answered, and when one did speak to an advisor they refused to cancel. This last one happened to me three times.
-A £65 fine is excessive damages for breaching the contract's arbitrary conditions by 3 days, especially when I was abroad for those days and the five weeks previously.
If you are having problems with your password or with cancelling your subscription, email us at the address below making sure that you give us your membership id or the email address you used to subscribe and one of our agents will deal with it for you. Our customer care policy is to respond with 48 hours, but normally we will respond quicker than that.

credit card charges
a charge of R285 was charged by GLOBAL PERSONALS LTD WINDSOR to my credit card, I want to know for what reason, I want a refund or I will be taken legal action
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have also been charged for a membership of $59.95 and I have never been on a dating website ever! When I called the customer service team they tried to insinuate that it might be my husband! We have never been on these sites ! It's a major scam !
Global personals are criminals. they rip everyone off and the only way to stop the money being taken is to stop your cre3dit card.
I am going to stir as much trouble for these criminal ### as possible
The Australian government should have a body to deal with such fraudulent behaviour.

Global Personals,
As I have unsubscribed from your Fling site over a year ago, and informed you of my no longer requiring your services, I have decided to take legal action against your company. Your continued monthly withdrawal of the amount of $39.95 from my account is without my permission, and therefore fraud and theft.
My legal council in both the UK and Australia have advised me that they will be contacting you in the near future. Previous attempts by myself to contact you regarding this matter have gone ignored. I will not simply ignore this matter even if the funds are returned and withdrawals stopped, but will press the issue in Court due to your blatant disregard of myself and many others in this matter.
Contact me immediately on browneye_mate@hotmail.com and my response will be by way of legal action. Provide me with a telephone number by which my lawyers may contact you as previous attempts have been unsuccessful.
Tom.

How to get your money back from Global Personals / White Label Dating
Who to contact first
You can't usually report a trader directly to Trading Standards. This is because not all local offices offer a public service. However, Trading Standards has an agreement with Citizens Advice to help you report the problem. You can contact either:
the Citizens Advice consumer service, or
your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
Experienced advisers will assess your problem and work out whether to pass it on to Trading Standards. However, they won’t be able to make a decision about whether Trading Standards will take on your case.
If the problem is passed on it is called a referral. When Trading Standards have received the referral, they decide whether they are able to help you and may contact you directly.
Some local Trading Standards offices do offer a drop-in service for the public. You can check whether there is one in your area by contacting your local authority or the Citizens Advice consumer helpline.
What information do you need to report a problem
Before you contact Citizens Advice, gather as much information as you can to support your problem. This will help the adviser decide if your problem can be passed on to Trading Standards.
Try to give details of:
what the problem is
what you know about the trader
paperwork, including bills, invoices, quotes and estimates or contracts
notes of any conversations you've already had with the trader, including dates
witnesses who can confirm what you're saying
photos or video evidence of the problem.
What happens if Trading Standards take on your problem?
If Trading Standards take on your case, it’s important to know what may happen next.
The information you give Trading Standards may be passed on to other bodies with the power to take action against the trader. For example:
the Office of Fair Trading
the police
the courts service.
If there is a prosecution, you may be asked to give evidence against the trader in court.
However, not all cases end up in court. Trading Standards doesn’t have to prosecute a trader even when it's clear that a criminal offence has been committed and the trader is likely to be convicted. They can choose to take no action or to give the trader a warning.
If a trader is found guilty, the court has the power to award compensation of up to £5, 000 in cases where money has been lost. However, even if a trader is successfully prosecuted, you may not get your money back as the court doesn’t have to do this, particularly if the trader can’t afford to pay.
If you are awarded compensation, it can’t be any more than the value of the goods or services that you’ve lost. You usually can’t claim for distress or additional losses that are hard to put a value on.
What to do if Trading Standards can’t help you
Sometimes Trading Standards won't be able to help you personally and you may have to take other action to solve your problem. You could:
complain directly to the trader
contact a trade association if the trader is a member
use alternative dispute resolution, for example the Ombudsman
take the trader to court.
Your Citizens Advice adviser will be able to tell you what else you can do to solve your problem.
Even if they don’t take your case on, Trading Standards may still collect evidence about the trader and may decide to take action at a later date.
Next steps
To report a problem to Trading Standards, you can:
call the Citizens Advice consumer helpline
visit your local Citizens Advice Bureau. To find details of your nearest CAB, see nearest CAB.

The same think has just happened to me. Does anyone know how i can recover my money?
Same thing happened to me in Australia. I've never signed up to any of their sites. And been charged $39 + $89 the same day.. I've contacted my bank to notify them of this fraud. Funny thing is I envy how much they're making from this scam. I think they gather credit card information, or even have a credit card generator and they use the random card generator to bill you. If you happen to be one of the unlucky one your credit card will be hit with this charge.. They make all these dating sites to give them an excuse for their purposes of fraud.. And to collect more credit card informations. Also they setup a call center to hide behind the fact that they're doing massive fraud.
SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME, THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED, SURELY THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW
I recently inspected my credit card statements and have noted that Global Personals Ltd have been deducting money from my credit card. Global Personals LTD have charged my account as of £19.99. I have recently signed up to your website as per the membership details above. I have already contacted your company to complaint as i believe the profiles on the website are fake and that the messages i have received are not replying to my questions in the emails. They look as if they are made by an answering machine.
As i am not satisfied with the service provided by your website, i wish to cancel the membership and receive a full refund.
Could you please do the necessary asap and let me know once you have refunded the full amount.

Global Personals
Please my profile not login.how please give me help.
Hi Weyland,
I’m sorry you feel that way. Please rest assured that all sites powered by Global Personals are legitimate. We take fraud extremely seriously. Please also know that we value customer feedback and take your comments on board.
In response to your enquiry, we offer two types of messaging; private messaging and Introductions messaging. Private messaging allows you to send 1:1 messages to individuals and Introductions messages allow you to contact a large number of members who meet your criteria all at once; after performing a customised search, members can send an Introductions message to all of the people who meet their search criteria.
Each member is permitted to send one Introductions message - members typically tend choose to do this when they’re new to the site. These messages are a great way to reach out to lots of other members in a short space of time when you’re new to a dating site.
When a customer sends an Introduction message, we explain how the feature works: ‘Send an Introduction to members within reach and receive hundreds more responses in even less time’ and label all ‘Introduction’ messages as such in the Inbox to help customers distinguish these from private messages. To learn more about how these messages work, please go to the FAQs section of the site.
To protect the safety of our members, our team of trained moderators screen all user-generated content to confirm profiles submitted are genuine. This involves analysing pictures, profiles, diary entries and every first private messages. Our moderation team work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure that any suspicious content is highlighted and removed from our sites to protect our members.
If you would like to cancel your subscription or delete your profile, you can do this online by simply logging in to the site, go to 'Account > Site membership > Cancel my account'. You can find more detailed instructions about how to cancel your account in the FAQs section of the site.
I hope this answers your questions.
Best wishes,
Michaela
Global Personals
It's disappointing that even after Channel 4 exposed this company back in 2012 that they have been allowed to continue doing what they are doing. The Government needs to do more to crush scam companies like this and stop them preying on peoples basic needs.
Your best option to recover your funds and make sure your bank details are safe is to contact your bank, I realise given the nature of the site some people might not want to speak to their bank, but I've worked for a bank and we dealt with stuff like this on a daily basis, they aren't going to judge you and they will generally do their best to put you at ease, their first concern is to make sure you the customer get back your money and feel secure.
If you don't want to explain the situation then a potentially grey area way of solving the issue is to simply report it as an unrecognised transaction, tell them you don't recognise the company and haven't used your card for anything like that, they will simply treat it as a fraudulent transaction and you should have your money refunded fairly swiftly, they will also issue a replacement card and may take other steps to make sure your account is secure, but this effectively solves both issues. Obviously this is slightly naughty but in fairness it's not like this company is playing by the rules either.
And lastly good luck in both this and finding someone special.
I wish i had know this, i have been scammed by one of their scam sites called 'over 50's dating only today. What you are saying is consistent with what i have just experienced, before i 'joined' and was just browsing, i was amazed to find started to recieve emails at a staggering rate, i think it was close to 70 in a an of hours, and as you said i clicked on one and suprise, led me straight to payment screen.
Did not sign up straight away, recieved indignant email 'did you have a problem making payment?' i contacted one of my 'contacts' ha! (1 message free) just to thank them for the interest and to explain i could not recieve messages as not full member. As i tried to send got an abrubt message telling me could not send as i was violating the rules! there was a long list, none of which applied to my innocent 'thanks for the message but as not full member i can't reply further' so got message saying my message would not be sent and again pushing me to sign up for membership. I gave in and signed up, money taken, was now having serious doubts, went to log back in and the membership number they sent did not work! tried emailing them asking to cancel membership withing 3 hours of joining came back(email given didn't work) i am so worried i just want to cancel and not have my details kept on their files or shared.

This company is absolutely a scam.
I was asked to investigate them by a media outlet I freelance for.
I'll explain exactly what they are doing and you can judge for yourselves. When you send a message on one of these sites it's sent to multiple recipients but only the person you send it to can reply, this stops the sender from becoming suspicious when they receive several replies to a private message. This is done to trick people who haven't paid into paying for a membership to read said erroneous messages, after all what better way to get someone to subscribe than to fill their message inbox with messages they have to pay to read.
It's a clever scam as it preys on human need, but it has obvious flaws as you can usually tell the messages aren't intended for you, especially when they are from a woman who is looking to meet other women and you're a man. The other flaw is one of plausible deniability as this couldn't possibly be perpetrated by someone at user level, the website would have to be coded specifically to behave that way which means the website is deliberately designed as a scam first and foremost.
You'll also note that if you try to mention any of this or question anything suspicious on your profile or via diary entries that other people can see they will delete it before it appears, also if you try to communicate it to anyone via PM it strangely never reaches the recipient which also raises the spectre of them reading and vetting private messages. The other obvious sign is that the majority of people who send you messages don't appear to have viewed your profile first, well they wouldn't have as they never intended for you to read a private message they sent to someone else.
In conclusion it's abundantly clear what's going on here and it's easy to prove and test for yourself. I'll be passing my findings on to the relevant authorities, I also write freelance for a few media outlets so I'll be publishing a piece on this fairly soon.
I've just noticed that Global Peronals Ltd GB has been deducting an amount of R115.00 from my credit card for the last 24 months! I have never subscribed to any of their services, so how did this happen? David Methven

stop deducting monies from my credit card as I have not given you permission to do so, I am now contacting the fraud department at my bank and am laying charges against your company for fraud and deception, when I signed up it was for 1 month only so you either reimburse my account for the money you have deducted without my permission or I will start legal proceedings

Please I want to close my MEMBERSHIP account, IMMEDIATELY! MY EMAIL ACCOUNT IS virg4giano@gmail.com or virg4giano@yahoo.com
It is a Standard Bank cheque account. From SOUTH AFRICA.
PLEASE PLEASE CLOSE THIS MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT AND STOP DEBITING MY ACCOUNT.
False log in never visited any site to do with global persons
I will like my account closed immediately please, , thank you...
Global personals are a horrible firm to deal with. The report by Channel 4 into their practices in 2012 is just one example of how this company scam you. There are thousands of fake profiles on this site, for example there's a village outside Skipton, North Yorkshire that has hundreds of profiles registered to it, the village doesn't contain that many people. They are still up to the same scams and it's all aimed at men.
Yesterday (25.01.15) and today, I tried to cancel my membership and complain because ...beat this ... GLOBAL PERSONALS, not me SET ME UP A PROFILE ON ANAL LOVERS, I only found out because I got an email saying I had registered. I hadn't and wouldn't, I've been so disillusioned with the site I have been looking for a way to cancel my membership.
Can you believe I cannot cancel my membership by email (yes I have found an email address), they are insisting that I cannot cancel any other way than by ringing them in working hours. The customer service agent (Brian - not likely his real name), refuses to cancel my membership and just keeps quoting terms and conditions at me.
So if you want to complain to global personals this is your email address - say Hi to Brian for me. support@globalpersonals.co.uk
I'd be happy if they'd just cancel my account but I suspect the one I did manage to remove (the anal lovers one) has charged me even though I didn't open it.
Totally frustrating, - customer service, quality of sites and experience are completely lacking.
Andy
The global personals site sucks. I only asked for a month and it has taken my money for 6 months and I am trying to get it removed from my account. It costed me a trip to USA, europe & much more things. What is it gonna take to make sure I never get an account with them?
I've been debited by your company, and would want a copy of what authorization I gave.
I will be reporting this to the police and fair trade ombudsman tomorrow the 19th of June 2014. I consider this theft and want the money credited back to my account immediately.
Every Google search has revealed you are a scam.
###
If I have to I will take the time to come to your Melbourne office, and trust me you will regret ripping me off.
Can you please unsubscribe me from sluttysheilers as I'm sick of getting email sent all the time thank you.
i will like my account closed immediately. Do not debit my account anymore.
I am so angry I cannot buy food>
I booked 3 months with this company eight months ago. They charged me for six months and would not repay money. I cancelled this account 4 months ago. I went away for 3 days and have come home to find out they have taken out another £90 of which i did not agree to, so I want my money back as I have nothing to live on for another week.
Fraudulent Charges
I had seven fraudulent transactions that appeared on my Bank of
America account. There were several companies listed, including Global
Personals LTD, listed as the description for a $107.54 transaction dated for
an authorization date as 8/14/09. My bank notified me today of the fraudulent
activity on my account. Since then, my account has been suspended and the
transaction for $107.54 is showing as a Pending-Decline. My bank is refunding me this money; however, I am concerned how someone obtained my credit card number to purchase this service. I am the only authorized used on my account and the only one which has access to this account. I have not used my card in about a month.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have an amount of R115.00 Zar coming of my account every month. How can I stop this?
David Methven
Global Personals Ltd. are taking R145.00 off my credit card account without authorization. I want it stopped & moneys that have been taken must be returned.
Money is being taken from my account wihout my consent

Dear Wyndham Davies,
We are an online dating services company based in Windsor, UK (the address listed in this post is not ours).
If you are unsure of the reason why we appear on your credit card statement go see www.gpl-cc.com, it will explain who we are, why you have been billed and what you should do if you think you have been the genuine victim of card fraud. All our card transactions are verified through the bank screening services and we rely on them to validate card authenticity.
If you would like to speak to our customer services team please contact support@globalpersonals.co.uk or freephone [protected].
I hope this helps,
Caroline, Global Personals.
Wow, the above comment from Global Personals Support doesn't seem automated at all.
This same thing happened to me. This morning I found a $124 charge from this company.
First, I've been in a committed relationship for 6 years, so I find it hard to believe that I accidentally had some kind of business or agreed to some kind of service or product from this company or any of it's affiliates.
Second, like the above comment, I am the only authorized user for the card charged, AND haven't been using it for weeks. So how there is a charge to it AT ALL this morning is beyond me.
Third, tried calling the US office, in New York, and it's closed. At 2pm... on a Tuesday... something is starting to reek...
I also found an article from the Channel 4 News (BBC) who discuss how Global Personals actively attempts to "trick customers into handing over more money"

The same thing has happened to me and many other people.
Have charges from SA for this company and do not subscribe to it.
As far as I am concerned this is a fraudulent scam.
Will be pressing charges and suing for damages.
Have you recently done business with anyone in Ithica, NY? I only ask because I had similar charges to my debit card recently. However, I opened my bank account this month and have only used it to make ONE purchase. So no one but myself, the bank, and an electronics store in Ithica, NY would have had my information.

I male date on widowsdatingonline.com started emailing a day ago. He sent me a lengthy message and I responded with a lengthy response as well. I sent it but a dialogue popped up to say "Your session is inactive." I was very disappointed after all that time of typing. I then started all over again, composed a long message, sent it but the same thing happened. I emailed widowsdatingonline support help but didn't get a response. Do I have I to wait for days for them to reply? By then, that male correspondent if he exists would think I was disinterested in him and would stop communicating. Then also, so often I get or maybe even the other subscribers get a message "Introduce yourself for free". Why would I do that when I'm already a member and I have about 4 more months membership. I'm getting a bit suspicious about the site. I'm now thinking it might be a scam and those people they post are not genuine. I tried contacting Melbourne based site but unsuccessful. I'm very disappointed and frustrated after all that money I paid. I should have just donated it to charity.
I have cancelled the subscription to this site months ago & today have found my Credit card has been debited $154. 45
because of global personals limited, i have had to cancel my mastercard, and am now forced to have a new card issued. bunch of thieving DOGS! I will be getting refunded. This isnt over. I WANT MY MONEY BACK you bunch of scammers!

Hi Rodney,
That doesn't sound right. So that we can resolve this for you, please could you contact us with the following details in an email to press@globalpersonals.co.uk?
- The email address that you registered to the site with
- Your member ID number (if you know it)
A senior member of our customer care team will then get in touch right away.

I can't understand why payments have still been taken out since cancelling membership approx January 2013. My mistake was in not realising who this payment was too for £29.95 each month and have only just found out with the help of my Bank. Can i get a refund on this as i was told at the time that it had been cancelled. I have now cancelled my credit card so that no further payments can be taken.
