I bought a ge washer and dryer from Home Depot. I paid for HD’s installation of both appliances. Both units were going into a rental property I own. After much frustration, run around from HD’s contract installation team, I gave up on the ‘attempted’ installation. I complained to HD. All HD did was to refund my money on the installation attempt. I installed the washer and dryer, not hard but as a ‘senior’ I need help. The washer is heavy. When the washer is turned on, there is no water dispensing into the washer. Fumbled for 20-25 minutes on the internet until I find a number to call. I get through and talk to a real person. However, before ge rep talks about a repair/claim for service, I am grilled by ge warranty rep. ge rep has me check water lines, press buttons on the washer, etc. ge warranty rep concludes, on the phone, that I am to blame for a ‘bad’ washer installation. ge rep insists that I hire a professional installer to do what is already done. I add that I have always been a pretty good handyman. I can attach two water hoses to a washer, then attach them to the hot and cold water valves on the wall. I can run/attach the drain line to the wall drain pipe. I can plug in the washer into the wall for power. For me, these are not hard things to do, to figure out. The ge rep said the problem with the washer was a ‘bad installation’! Really? I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ge APPLIANCE, EVER AGAIN! People of America, run away, DO NOT BUY, ge appliances. ge will not honor their factory warranty!
Recommendation: Don’t buy ge products.
