My steam boiler stopped working on a Sunday night when we were at 4 degrees outside, with a forecast of the same or colder in the next two days. I called Four Seasons and they schedule a diagnostic visit for the next evening. All windows they give are 4 hours windows. A technician came and said that the problem was probably the glass gauge (it was clearly leaking, so the boiler couldn't keep the water level needed). But he said he was not an expert in boilers so he was going to request a second opinion. He scheduled somebody for Tuesday morning. The second technician came and confirmed that that was the issue. He ordered the part, which I paid (when I saw the invoice later, that part is no more the $100 and I was change over 900 for it, plus labor totaling almost 1100, and that included a "discount", according to the technician. The part would arrive to my house the next day and a technician will come again from 4 to 8 to install it. THe next day I was waiting and even called twice to be sure that the technician was coming and boht times I was told he was (my last call to confirm was at 7:45pm) 20m later i received a call to tell me that my appointment had been reschedule for the next morning. I was offered to waive my first diagnotic fee ($85) and they will credit 50 to the final cost. This is already 12 hours of wating. The next day the technician shows and replaces the part (the original glass was broken but he had an extra one in his van). He leaves 10m later. THe boiler was running. 20m later the boiler stops running. I call again and schedule another technician. They tell me that I was not going to be charged to the next visit (I had already paid and the problem was not resolved). Another technician comes that evening and check and clean the boiler. I told him about the water feeder not looking good because it was overfeeding (it was set before and never gave me an issue) He leaves and 45 m later the boiler stops again because it has too much water.
My first and last time with Four Season. At this point I didn't call them again. I texted the last technician with the problem and told me it was probably the feeder. Ridiculous that they charge during an emergency those outrageous prices for part that are worth 10 times less. 20 hours waiting, 4 different people (some without nobody showing up), three day frezing in my house, and yes, I have a part that usually costs 300 all included for $1100, but my boiler is still not working properly.
