Altierus Career College / Everest Institute - Rip Off

OMG! This place is a RIP OFF! What a bunch of liars! I just graduated and my first interviewer told me that they usually NEVER hire Everest graduates! They have a "deal" with the school to at least interview us. What are you guys getting a buck for everyone of us who gets through the door?!
When this place sees an Everest resume, they just tear them up!

I just graduated from Everest but I don't look to my Everest Degree to open doors for me; I look to the GOD I serve who is GOD Almighty to open doors and I believe that regardless of what anyone says about Everest the The LORD has signed His seal of approval along with favor on my degree and He will use it to take me places some have not any gotten with a PH.D or Doctrine. That is the kind of GOD I serve. I suggest stop depending upon your degree and depend on GOD and believe that He can use the degree to open doors for you. Bottom line...This degree is not my source, The Most High GOD is my Source and it is because of Him that I am moving forward!

I graduated in 2003 with my Associates degree in Business Administration. The reps told me I could transfer all my credits to any university well I went to University of LaVerne and they only accepted 24 credits. I got a loan for almost $8, 000 just for an AA. They are complete liars. I remember the teachers would constantly be replaced. I wanted to quit in the middle of school but they told me I made an agreement with them. Anyway. I got my bachelors degree at ULV. Im embarrased to put Everest College in my resume. I regret it completely. I wish I can get my money back. A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY...

I had graduated Everest College back in 2008 and never lucked up on a job in the past to years in the field that I majored in. I was told in the beginning of my registration by a financial aid representative that I had a grant that would cover most of my expenses and only had to pay around $2, 000. A few months later I got a letter from a loan agency saying that I owe $8, 000 for a student loan. The people who suppose to help graduate student to find a job have terrible methods they didn't give me any recommendations and they are to nonchalant when trying to help students to find a job like they don't care if you get a job or not. I hope very soon that Everest goes out of business and the people who attended the school and have the same problem as I have can get refunded.

Ouch! ARe you serious?! I hope that as I apply for jobs in Canada that I am not shunned because of my Everest affiliation. I guess I'll have to ride on my other college credentials; it is just that Everest is the most recent.
Hmmm, I wonder if employers in Canada feel the same way as their American counterparts.
IF any potential employers in Canada read this and feel that attending Everest will not open any doors, replying as such would be helpful to others thinking of embarking on careers through Everest. It would be nice if you'd give them forewarning before they invest in excess of $10, 000.00 on a school/program that is going to prove of no value or discernible worth.

I am curious why people are not reporting them to the BBB? I have checked and they have A+ and B+ ratings with very little complaints. And by very little I mean less then 20... Also, why are you not reporting them to the Attorney Generals office, or even the US Dept. of Education? If they are so bad, then why not report them? They would get shut down if you did...

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute - Rip Off Scam

All the Everest Colleges are a joke. I have two other friends that have graduated from other CA Everests and, compared to community college grads, we don't know a thing. It costs 10, 000 MORE than the community college too. It's an embarrassment to have "Everest College" on my resume and even the instructors say that employers usually "rip up" the resumes once they see the name Everest. The instructors are nice people, but hardly qualified to teach in a classroom environment and most of them will admit that they have never taught.
The campus president walks around with a fake smile plastered on her face telling you whatever you want to hear and most of its baloney. These people have no idea what they are doing and its clear to all of us...students call this place a "train wreck", so that sums it up. They want our Financial Aid! That's it! Once enrolled, you can never fail this place. There are no standards - fake ones maybe, but no one is ever thrown out and even the students failing still pass! You certificate is a worthless piece of paper and employers know it. Go to real school. Save yourself a bundle. You can get financial aid there and graduate with a real diploma..something that will help you acheive your goals. I'm off to Santa Ana College starting in September after a disasterous year at Everest where I learned nothing that cost me 15 grand.

All I have to say is how stupid were you not to drop out and find a different school once you realized it was a "train wreck"? I mean really, you spent the money and didn't decide to quit and go to another college or university when there are a million choices out there! People switch colleges everyday. I can't believe it took you a year to drop out, anyone with a lick of knowledge would know that you should have quit sooner and saved your money!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute - Incompentency

This school targets the minimally educated, low-income student who chooses a school depending on how easy it is to obtain Financial Aid. Most students have learning disabilities which have steered them away from traditional college. These students are being set up for failure in the "real working world" as they are "pushed" through this school with an easy "A". It is nearly impossible for a student to fail, even though they may be told they will, they will only be forced to continue attending (while financial aid is charged over and over) until the student finally meets the very very low requirements (of attendance) or drops. Once the student graduates, the majority will soon realize that they will not be able to secure employment since they are missing key components of hire-ability. Most employers do not hire everests students because of the poor quality of education and poor skills/ presentation of the applicant/student. This is a school that only cares about your money (or the governments money). Once the money is secured, they only thing Everest cares about is not letting you drop until they secure the full amount of your tuition. It doesn't matter if you are sick or dying or have a drug or alcohol problem, no one leaves Everest. No one in management knows whats going on and no one cares. Once you graduate and find that you can't get a job in your field, you will get pissed, want to file a class action lawsuit (with your fellow students against Everest since most of you are not working in the field) and you will be saving your paychecks from Safeway to pay off your massive student loans which have now accumulated enormous interest..a loan that will follow you for the rest of your life.

This decision could ruin your life..as it has ruined the life of many. There are actual attorneys that focus their business on filing lawsuits against colleges like Everest, that is how corrupt this school is.
Everest will only last another 5 or 7 years or so..they are already suffering financially and the schools forecasted to open have been slashed to 1/4 for this year. Close them sooner by boycotting them.
Put your money into traditional community colleges. You can get financial aid there, tutoring by real tutors, attention from people who care, counseling by teachers with Masters Degrees..any vocational program that you are taking at any FOR PROFIT college can be taken at community college for 1/10th of the tuition. Do yourself a favor - I wish I someone had told me this soon.

Let me guess, you couldnt keep up with the education, or didnt attend faithfully, Or, failed to complete your homework. OR, maybe you were dismissed from the program for your attitude. I too am an Everest College Graduate, and I am currently working in a Hospital, and climbing the corporate ladder. Its ME that did it, with the HELP of a diploma to get my foot in the door, Cause without it, I wouldn't have even gotten the interview. So, maybe you should not bash the school, but fix your OWN issues. Good luck in your future. :)

I'm sorry you had to learn all this the hard way, but you sound like an intelligent woman who has all of the qualities you need to get where you want in life once you get on the right track and with the right people.

However, Everest and ### like it will always be around. Everest used to be Bryman, and before that it was something else. Every time its sleazy reputation finally gets the best of it, it'll change its name yet again.

You want a rude awakening, check this site alone, much less the entire Internet, for Everest (enter it in the search without the Santa Ana part; you'll see all of the complaints that way).

I worked in the medical field for many years, and most high-quality, ethical practices would literally rather hire someone right off the street with zero education than one from Bryman, that's how awful it is.

Best of luck with your future, and please, always, always, ALWAYS check out any school, company, agency, etc. before signing your name or committing your money. Same with buying a car (or hopefully a home one day), accepting a job, etc.
Google the organization with terms like fraud, or lawsuit, or scam, or complaints.
