OMG! This place is a RIP OFF! What a bunch of liars! I just graduated and my first interviewer told me that they usually NEVER hire Everest graduates! They have a "deal" with the school to at least interview us. What are you guys getting a buck for everyone of us who gets through the door?!
When this place sees an Everest resume, they just tear them up!

I graduated in 2003 with my Associates degree in Business Administration. The reps told me I could transfer all my credits to any university well I went to University of LaVerne and they only accepted 24 credits. I got a loan for almost $8, 000 just for an AA. They are complete liars. I remember the teachers would constantly be replaced. I wanted to quit in the middle of school but they told me I made an agreement with them. Anyway. I got my bachelors degree at ULV. Im embarrased to put Everest College in my resume. I regret it completely. I wish I can get my money back. A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY...

is anyone taking action against this school? I am. Or at least I'm lookin into it. From absolute negligence in dealing with death threats made in the classroom, to the absolute disregard the administartive faculty has for classroom environment. Everest College is a scam and has destryed the dreams of once ambitious students.
The students are dropped off like children at a babysitter by their teachers at other classrooms where they are ignored and left uninvolved in that days lab. Questions are answered with sarcastic "don't bother me" type responses from teachers. My GF actually left the calssroom after being publicly humiliated by the teacher for asking her to go slower when she listed the material to be covered in the next test.
I am intending to cause waves, not ripples for this school when i throw this stone.

I live in Canada and would love to take action after the school, I was threaten by other students put in a complaint to the teacher first then the dean of the school, I also was threaten by the teacher and the dean, We were not dropped off in other classrooms but left in a classroom without a teacher several times, so if we had a problem we were stuck, and if the work was not done by the time the teacher came back we got a zero mark. I am a single mother who is totally disable which the school got a letter from my doctor stating this yet told that the course LAW ENFORCEMENT would be the best course for me? I would like to no if you could please help me and tell me how I might be able to take action on the school too! I am now stuck paying back O.S.A.P 16 thousand dollars and I am on a fixed income. Disability will not help me pay back this loan and I am getting bugged already for money when I was suppose to finish the course in July but due to medical reasons which I brought in to show that I was at the hospital, but they did not care because I missed more then 2 day and I am not talking a lot of extra days missed like 1/2 a day the failed me from the class even though my mark was a pass? I just went back on Nov 17, 2008 the day the dean told me to come back to school to do one of the classes, I asked her more then once is the date going to change because with the school your class date or time in which it could start changes all the time. I sat down in class the teacher, I will say a really great teacher asked if he was in the wrong class I state what the class was he said know right class. I sat there the whole day because the dean did not come in that day until 1pm only to find out that the class had started a week earlier, I asked well what am I suppose to do now, the dean told me I had to wait now until 2010 and come back and compete the class then, even though I had the teacher standing behind me saying that he would take me in the class and work extra hours on his time to get me caught up and so I can pass the class now instead of coming back, the dean would not agree. I would be great full if you could send me any information on how to go about causing major waves with the school, maybe even sue them for all the pain and suffering I had to go through. I would be very great full my email address is temley@persona.ca and my name is Melissa. Thank you kindly

I just disenrolled with them. What a waste of time and money. I was originally told (on paper, in writing) that my program for Criminal Investigations was going to be $11k. I just learned that by the time I finish a 2 year degree (which I was orginally LIED to that it could be done in 18 months) it will cost me $38k! Each credit is $404 - you need 96 credits to complete an Associates degree.

Because the degree doesn't count for crap anywhere else, this means I would have to have completed my Bachelors with them costing me at least $80K! From doing research, most people think this school is a joke anyway so that much money for a degree no one will recognize credibly is RIDICULOUS!

I currently disenrolled from that crap school also. I went there for 13 days and they charged me $1700 and some changes. I left because I was pregnant and was put on bed rest for my pregnancy and they did not offer online courses or anything because it is a crap school. I told my friend I felt like I was on the movie Excepted because that college is such a joke. The represenatives act like they are all caring when you enroll but, when you leave they don't care and then six months later you get a call from collections. I have been fighting the issue since October of 07. I m going to sue them so bad for the lies they told me and for trying to rip me off in making pay over a month worth of tution when I only went there for less that 2 weeks

Some lessons Ive learned after having been screwed by a "business/career/trade" college.
1)If the school is Private, stay away from it
2)If the school is for-profit, stay away from it
3)If the school offers people the ability to finish a course offered at a public college or university in less that half the time it normally takes, stay away from it
4)Do the credits transfer to other PUBLIC colleges and Provincially funded universities? if not, stay away from it
5)are there multiple posts about the institution on educational forums and on the internet in general that are negative in nature, if so, stay away from it
6)Does the school offer job placement assistance, guaranteed high paying jobs after graduation, scouts/employers from companies that come to the school to look for grads, a 70-90% graduate employment rate and a whole bunch of other really over-the-top gurantees?!, if so, stay away from it
7)Does the school have multiple "campuses" spread out all over the country?if so, stay away from it
8)Is the school on the third floor of a scummy building? if so, stay away from it
9)Does the school seem to change names every couple of years? If so, stay away from it
10)Does the school go through a constant change of instructors and management? If so, stay away from it
11)Does the school employ ex-grads as teachers?, if so, stay away from it
12)DO they advertise on tv, have a 1-800 number and do they have glossy print ads? If so, stay away from it
-If I wouldve had a list similar to this before I enrolled in that institution, I wouldve thought twice about making said decision

Just because a business calls itself a "university" does not mean it is a UNIVERSITY, and their "diplomaz" are not really DIPLOMAS...get my drift...of should I say, Get my Drift...bro?
Bottom line:DO YOUR RESEARCH!

Curtis
IT is NOT the equivalent of a traditional degree or diploma...in the eyes of employers and most of the public it is a useless piece of paper. No employer respects those things. Read my list and try to understand what I am trying to say. Tell your friends...We only have our precious time and money to waste! Remember, if it sounds to good to be true, it most likely is!

I am in the process of looking into suing Everest. I attended a campus in Miami and after 1 year into my program while on my externship they informed me that they would not accept my high school diploma. They would return my student loans, financial aid, grants and everything else. O would have to pay $ 21, 000 out of my pocket. With that being said I was already 95% done with my program. If I would have stopped there I would have to still pay back what I owed for the education they alreay provided. They told me go get a GED. Well why would I have to do that?! I graduated from high school and I have a high school diploma. A few weeks later they asked me to apply for a leave of absence. I was involved in a custody battle and they couldn't allow me to take atleast one day off a month to go to court. Now is the same school that says we'll work with you? The day they asked me to come in to complete the paper work was actually the drop date for me. They denied my LOA and dropped me. They told me of I wanted to return I will have to just pay the program difference in tuition and they will enroll me. Ha! What a joke. I needed a LOA for a family matter Relatin to court, which I was ordered to apperception, and I was not approved but the girl at my externiship site was able to take a few months off to plan her wedding. Words were exchanged with the dean who is down right disrespectful. He cursed at me and said he doesn't care what problems I have because they are not his problems. I grew furious and we both exchanged harsh words. He exspelled me and months later after tryin to enroll in another campus, which he told me to do because he didn't want me back at his campus, I was denied re entry. I was recieving calls non stop and letters in the mail to finish my program but every time I tried to speak with someone they said no! I recently recieved a letter saying I owe $18, 824. They wi not work with me to get back in school and finish at any campus. They constantly hang up on me and tell me have my lawyer call them because they don't want to speak with me. For anyone who has or is going through something with Everest, I feel your pain. I was once passionate about working in the OR as a surgical tech and following my dreams of becoming a RN. I feel like my hopes and dreams
are squashed and I don't even want to step foot in another school or even a hospital.

I had graduated Everest College back in 2008 and never lucked up on a job in the past to years in the field that I majored in. I was told in the beginning of my registration by a financial aid representative that I had a grant that would cover most of my expenses and only had to pay around $2, 000. A few months later I got a letter from a loan agency saying that I owe $8, 000 for a student loan. The people who suppose to help graduate student to find a job have terrible methods they didn't give me any recommendations and they are to nonchalant when trying to help students to find a job like they don't care if you get a job or not. I hope very soon that Everest goes out of business and the people who attended the school and have the same problem as I have can get refunded.

Yeah, so maybe they did okay with you...but there are far more of us that got screwed by them. Consider yourself lucky Mark. I will gladly go toe to toe with you on this issue. I'm sticking with the mass majority so sticking up for them might not be a good thing. I'd keep my mouth shut if I were you. I and so many other single moms are outraged watching the debt flood in and nothing from their Alma Mater be creditable. It is a scam and your just a lucky survivor of their "bull s**t.

Jay, I have more info that proves we're just a few of thousands upon thousands...and rising. This and other schools (FOR-PROFIT COLLEGES) like them are leading to a huge reason why the debt of our nation is increasing at scary alarming rates. So far my Everest College Education has equalled to $80, 000 debt over the last 4 years dealing with them. How many do you know that can pay that off on 12$-15$
per hour. NONE...especially if your a single parent barely making it as it is. I am interested in what happened to you and everyone else at this college because I feel justice is deserved and I'm working on making it happen here in Utah. It takes 1 person to get pissed enough to make stuff happen.

Dude...I took their "business administration" course too and it is a joke. It should be called "Secretarial Training" or something. Try the same program at a tradiational 4 year University and notice the night and day difference between the two. I took it off my resume as well as the public is not fooled. It is embarassing to have that crap on my resume.

I'm glad I read this, I was about to start their massage therapy course tomorrow, and was like I'm going to check this school out outside their halls and websites; after all, it seemed ridiculous how much they were claiming to do for you, find you a job, "oh we have campuses nationwide, you can go to Honolulu" and basically painting a fairytale picture of what your future dream is, apparently the school is a succubus trying to steal your money and crush your dreams. Many thanks for saving me 17, 000 dollars, my heart goes out to all of you, good luck in your endeavors.

Sincerely,
A Man Named Chris.

I've heard lots of bad things about this school and been told that they have one of the highest student loan default rates in the country for students three years after graduation. These lawyers seem to specialize in cases against tradeschools and maybe can help. http://www.kcrlegal.com/helping-victims-of-trade-school-scams.aspx

They did nothing to help me find a job. NOTHING! The majority(if not all) of my class did not find adequate employment in their field of study. Employers do not respect for-profit institutions(I will not call them schools) as their reputation is getting worse and worse. News programs are running stories on their fraudulent practices and employers are writing them off. They are turning post-secondary education into a fast-food industry. I think that REAl, publically funded schools should get their act together and do something as there will eventually be a bleed over and REAL schools will start to pay the price.

I am curious why people are not reporting them to the BBB? I have checked and they have A+ and B+ ratings with very little complaints. And by very little I mean less then 20... Also, why are you not reporting them to the Attorney Generals office, or even the US Dept. of Education? If they are so bad, then why not report them? They would get shut down if you did...

Ouch! ARe you serious?! I hope that as I apply for jobs in Canada that I am not shunned because of my Everest affiliation. I guess I'll have to ride on my other college credentials; it is just that Everest is the most recent.
Hmmm, I wonder if employers in Canada feel the same way as their American counterparts.
IF any potential employers in Canada read this and feel that attending Everest will not open any doors, replying as such would be helpful to others thinking of embarking on careers through Everest. It would be nice if you'd give them forewarning before they invest in excess of $10, 000.00 on a school/program that is going to prove of no value or discernible worth.

I just graduated from Everest but I don't look to my Everest Degree to open doors for me; I look to the GOD I serve who is GOD Almighty to open doors and I believe that regardless of what anyone says about Everest the The LORD has signed His seal of approval along with favor on my degree and He will use it to take me places some have not any gotten with a PH.D or Doctrine. That is the kind of GOD I serve. I suggest stop depending upon your degree and depend on GOD and believe that He can use the degree to open doors for you. Bottom line...This degree is not my source, The Most High GOD is my Source and it is because of Him that I am moving forward!
