We purchased an Electrolux front load washer and dryer at the end of December of 2024. It was delivered in January of 2025. Two problems arose after the use of them.
The first was with the dryer which would damage clothes with small nicks in them and ruined some sheets and two shirts of ours. A call was made to request a service tech out to check on the problem. Odell, the service tech, could not locate anything until I mentioned that there were only two potential areas that this could be coming from. He looked into it further and found one of the parts that had a small bur on it and said he would order the part to get it replaced. I followed up on the order and got varying messages from the order was made and would be sent to my home which never happened. I called again and was told that they could not see that the order had been placed and that they would order it and then and send it out to me. This never happened. After a year of the lack of customer service and follow-up, I had no choice but to remove the bur myself and since then have not had any more issues .
The second problem which has been worse and again after a year still has not been resolved was with the washer which had a drastic vibration and made a loud noise when in use. The same tech, Odell, that came out for the dryer was told about this and he said that this was normal and that it would settle down in time with use which was never the case. I called for another tech to come out and service the washer problem as it never got better. The tech Daniel came out and said the problem was because we were using a generic universal pedestal and that the project I was working on with regrouting the floor tiles was what was causing the problem. He never opened the machine or investigated anything and just said he was 1,000% sure that this was the problem and as I was questioning him, he walked out.
I spent the money and bought the approved pedestal for the washer and the problem persisted. I called for another tech to come out to check it with the new and approved pedestal and the grouting project being completed and I asked to make sure not to send Daniel out due to the lack of professionalism and incompetence that he demonstrated. Daniel was again sent out and when we met at the door and I told him what I had done (new pedestals and floor work done) he just recalled the previous situation we had with him and he said he could not come in to service it and walked away. His report that he submitted this second time was the same report previously and he did not bother to come in to see the changes that had been made but instead lied about what he found on this second service call.
I called in again and asked for a third-party vendor tech that they use to come out and service the machine as I no longer felt their techs were competent enough to resolve this issue. An Affordable Appliance Repair (AAR) tech was assigned to come out to investigate the problem we have been having with the washer. He looked at it running and said that there was definitely a problem and he started investigating the different parts of the machine as he took the covers off. Right away several things were noted that were causing the problem. Some plastic support parts around the drum had stressed cracks from the severe vibration and he found that the main concrete covering around the drum was cracked and broken off. It was noted that it was something that had occurred probably during the manufacture and assembly. He called it in and spoke to the parts department and they agreed on what needed to be ordered and it was submitted late November.
I called in to AAR on several occasions to check on the status since it had been a couple months. They said they had followed up with Electrolux and got no help on the status of the order or what the ETA would be. Here we are going into the third month and they still have not received any update on this order.
I followed up with Electrolux again and asked about this order and one time was told that they had the parts and the tech just needed to put in the order. I mentioned this had been done 2 months ago. I was getting no where with this call so I hung up and called a few days later and asked that the machine be replaced. They looked into it and said that since they only had two of the six parts and could not get the other parts that they would submit this request for replacement to their review committee. I followed up again to check on the status of the review committee’s decision and was told that they had 4 of the six parts now and were just waiting for the other 2 and that they had sent these 4 parts to the vendor AAR. I was also told that my request for replacement was denied. I called AAR and they said they have not heard back from Electrolux and had not received any parts.
I am totally frustrated with the lies and incompetence of the folks at Electrolux and am again requesting that this machine be replaced with a new one as I am just waiting for it to explode and totally stop working. I am going to the Better Business Bureau and to the media to report all of this as I don’t seem to be getting anywhere with Electrolux and AAR who has been great continues to apologize for this inconvenience and realizes that their hands are also tied because of Electrolux and they should also not be put into this situation.
HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP.
Desired outcome: Replace this washer with a new one
