I ordered a hamburger, fries and a drink, plus an order of onion rings and another order of fries, and 3 strawberry shakes for my friend’s 73rd. birthday.

I placed my order in the early afternoon, but I wanted it sidelined betweeen 4;50 and 5:10.

We live in an assisted living facility in Dallas, TX, and our dinner starts at 5pm. Being in an assisted living facility means that the facility takes our entire monthly income and only gives us residents a tiny percentage to live on.

So $30 might seem like a very small sum of money, but when one only receives about $60 per month, $30 is a huge amount of money: half of one’s monthly allowance.

Anyway,

We had told the kitchen that we didn’t want what they were serving because we had ordered from Wataburger.

I received a text from a driver named Terri, and it included a picture of our entire order sitting on the front porch of a home I had just moved out of.

I was very careful about making sure I was having it sent to the proper address.

I double checked and I answered questions like :was there a door code; no. And where should it be delivered, and I replied that we would be waiting in the dining room.

So when I was texted the photo of our order sitting on the from porch of the house I just moved out of, I was shocked and disappointed!

And Terri even included a statement saying that our order was delivered the transaction was complete, and she hoped we’d enjoy our food.

When I texted her back that she’d delivered our order to the wrong address, she didn’t text back.

So I tracked down the phone number of DoorDash, customer service, and I called and explained what happened and asked if they could just replace our order and deliver it to us. We still had some time left at “dinner”. And we hadn’t eaten any dinner because we were waiting on our order from Wataburger order that we were excited about receiving and then eating.

The woman who answered the phone was not nice or helpful and ended up hanging up on me. I called back, and I think the same woman answered again. I went over my situation again, and she put me on hold for a long time to apparently get permission from her manager to remedy my issue.

She came back on the phone and offered me $7.95. I replied that her offer was unacceptable. It was NOT my fault that the food was delivered to my old address, and I expected to either have our meal replaced or my money refunded.

We went back and forth a bit, and she hung up on me again.

I was so stressed at this point that we decided to give up and go back up to our rooms.

I took a break and re-approached the situation.

Also, it was more practical for me to delve deeper into what to do to get my money back. Also, I had my spiral in which to take notes in my room as well.

I found a customer service number for DoorDash that was different from the one I’d been calling.

I called that number, and the woman who answered that number sounded like the one who had answered the previous times.

I went over my complaint again, and she put me on hold for a long time, and when she came back she offered to refund the entire amount: $31. and change.

She said she wasn’t able to “turn the order over..or around”,or something and have them replace our meal, but she could return the entire amount that I’d lost dealing with DoorDash.

I then asked how long would it take for the refund to post to my Venmo debit card, and she replied:less than 3 hours. I said, Okay, and thanks!

I checked my balance on my Venmo card several times that night: NO REFULD!

I checked it on Tuesday. Still NO REFUND!

I was getting very discouraged, but I checked periodically throughout the week. Can you guess? Still NO REFUND!

I was very busy all week, I’m still unpacking from my move and trying to get settled, so I didn’t investigate what a proper next step should be for me to take, from a legal perspective: considering that I had been promised a refund within 3 hours of my phone call with your company on Monday, 8.14.23.

I was hoping/praying that your company would be reasonable and refund my money.

It sure would save both of us a lot of stress and wasted time for DoorDash to just refund my money. It might save you many headaches and an ulcer or two. Please, just do what’s right!

I’m only 54, and I don’t plan on leaving this world or my life anytime soon. It’s up to you how you will handle this.

Thanks for “listening” to me. I appreciate your time and consideration. Laura Nell Jacobie: 3922 Simpson Street, #508, Dallas, TX 75246: 214.916.0918: [protected]@yahoo.com.⭐️

Desired outcome: Full refund!
