Shut lane after I'd unloaded my groceries
Once I unloaded my basket, the clerk came, closed her lane and told me to go to the next checker, but then reopened her lane to wait on the next customer. When I got to the 2nd checker, and asked who that was, she said it was the store manager. She was so extremely RUDE. [protected] at Volga SD. Store #15455

The incident happened on March 21, 2020. The store was in Pinnacle North Carolina. The store number is 16792. The person I am coplaining about is the manager of the store, his name is Bob. I went in the Dollar General on Saturday March 21, 2020. I told the clerck I had brought some clothes back on March 19 to exchange with my reciept. I had left a schick intuition razor in the bag that I had bought on the 18th. The manager heard us talking, he was coming from back area of the store. He ask what do you want, with a hateful tone. I told him about the razor and I aslo told him I need to exchange some clothes. He said with a very hateful tone; you was just in here on March 19 to exchange clothes. I told him I had bought clothes on March 18 and 19th. I told him I just got different sizes and thats all I want. He said, go ahead. I was back there looking for the size I needed and heard him talking about me to all the customers. He said, she brings stuff back all the time. I then walked up and said, I do bring things back a lot but I spend thousands of dollars in that store. I just live 2 minutes from the store. I was so embarrassed. He had no reason to talk to me that way. I was only wanting to get the right size of clothes. I told him I didn;t deserve the way he treated me. He said, very hateful, I am sorry, have a good day. He didn;t even put my stuff in the bag. I hear him talk to others like their thieves. It's unreal how he treats people. I really don't think he should get by with treating people bad. I will leave it up to you how to resolve the matter. Please do something.

A manager, a red head with glasses and skirts, used to be very friendly. I now encounter her being rude every time she waits on me. She works in the Lagrange Indiana location as well. I don't spend good money to be talked down to. She has no problem being nice and joking around with fellow employees but she has no problem being rude to me. Not haopy!

I visited the Dollar General on Two Notch Rd, in Columbia SC on today. Due to the unfortunate circumstances, I went in to purchase some Lysol, and cleaning products. When I got to the section for cleaning a guy asked me "What I was Looking For?" and I responded with Lysol, and he began to show me that everything was still in boxes in the store. Before I could respond an employee who claims she was "Off for today", took it upon herself to say to me "and if you open the box, my manager said she will put you out the store and call the cops!" ...Confused b/c i never once acted in a way to make her think that I would even do this in the first place. I laughed in her face, and asked her, What are they going to do, get me for stealing something that would be paid for (should I have been thinking to go into the box)and that should have already made it to the shelf? Dollar General tighten up your employees and your professionalism!
Store not stocked and/or dirty.
I live in rural south central Pennsylvania and I have seven or eight Dollar Generals within 35 miles of my house. I love them! But I like one store in particular and have been using it (closest to my rural home) for many years. Right after Christmas (three days, no more) I noticed that the store was rather disheveled and dirty. And it didn't get any better by the end of February. Often shelves are bare - and this has nothing to do with the current virus-fueled problems. The floors are always dirty with trash around. I commented on this to one of the staff (the people that work there are really great and always helpful) and they said that right after Christmas their hours had been cut and they were lucky to even have time to unload the trucks, much less stock and clean. I was kind of shocked when it was obvious that they really needed more hours (and WANT THEM) and more people. I know it's tough to work retail and have every empathy for retail workers. But, honestly, this is a situation where more personnel and more hours would be the solution. And it's so simple - they really WANT to work. It is quite an economically depressed area (Bedford County) and people are happy to have jobs. I'd even work there, but, wow, they aren't hiring. The store is the only one in Hyndman, PA, address listed on your locator site as 4064 Center Street, Hyndman, PA 15545. I even know and like the manager, so I don't understand why there aren't more people working there and more hours for those that do. Thanks for listening! The store
This store is the worst chaotic place I have tried to shop at. I have been there several times especially at Holidays, the aisles are full of boxes some you cannot go down. The products on the shelves are always close to empty and disarray. Most of the time the cashier is not available. The store itself is filthy. The Manager is either out front smoking or...

that’s all on you. if a rock hit your windshield then you didn’t have a safe following distance behind the truck. can’t blame someone else just because you were tailgating.
the entire store
After several years of trying to overlook the madness, I've finally had enough. The store smells like [censored] and there is NEVER anything put away. If you want anything in that store you have to dig for it and or move carts out of the way. We are a small community and are very grateful for this convenience, however, it's worth the drive to go to a different...
Read full complaintCondition of the store
It saddens me to see the store I once worked in many years ago in such horrific shape. It's truly disgusting. This is the very store that I managed and poured myself into. Lots of hard work, sweat, and even tears. I did so for 3 years and won awards for top sales, reduced shrink, and most recovered. Back then it was hard, and I still see the struggle today with cut payroll hours and less people in store to assist, clean, stock, etc. We had hourly recovery, accident prevention, customer service in the forefront of our minds ( and yes sales being top priority). I was proud of my store, and my customers noticed. It made them proud to shop there. I can tell you I have stopped shopping both of the DG's near me, because of the absolute filth. Most dig stores are cleaner! What a shame! My daughter recently purchased a home in Mt. Pleasant. (I have not been in this store for years. When people seen me that knew I had worked there, they would tell me had bad it had gotten again. I couldn't stand the idea of seeing it in that shape again after the work and sacrifice it took to get it out of that shape before. ) I had to pick up a few cleaning supplies. Unfortunately, this was the closet location. It will be worth the drive to elsewhere next time. The shelves nearly empty and the condition of the store was HEARTBREAKING! The store is intolerable and it angers me that this company doesn't show more respect for the community it is supposed to serve. Our communities deserve better! Please take notice and please clean up your stores. We deserve better! Your goal (even back when I was an employee) was to have a store every 10 mins or so. You are reaching your goal, but at what cost to the consumer and community in which you build? What kind of customer are you trying to attract? What will your success look like it your brand only becomes known as filth?
I have recently noticed this with several local stores. They are disheveled and dirty with bare shelves. I'm not talking about during this virus thing either. This has been the last six months or so. When I asked an associate (and there are only four that I know about) at the store I most frequent, they told me that their hours had been cut. The solution is simple (more hours, more people) but corporate isn't policing this. How can they? They've grown so rapidly there's no way to keep up. I guess the fat-cats at the top that make all the money from the thousands of stores are fine with things. But it really sucks. I used to love the store closest to my house (rural PA) but don't even like to go there anymore as it is always out of sorts, and usually only two people manning the place. Maybe it will all catch up and be nice again. But it's hard to see. I feel you! jh
Manager of the store Regina West & employee Annie Vann
Regina West the manager of the store is allowing an employee Annie Vann smoke marijuana while at work, she smokes it in the bathroom & goes behind the store on her breaks & smokes it.The front of the store has a very heavy smell of it.I addressed my concerns to the manager Regina but was told she didn't care what she did "because she can run a whole truck". I thought Dollar General was a drug free work place but apparently not at this one!
