I received a call from this company stating that my credit card had been used by accident to sign up for some promotions offered by their company. This agent, Arron Butler, claimed he was a supervisor and was giving me a courtesy call in order to get the charges stopped before they reached my account. He told me it gets hectic in this telemarketing environment and the agent that was at fault was to go back into training. As a token of their apology for this inconvenience, they were to send me a letter along with several gift cards.

What ended up happening was that I got tricked into enrolling into these programs myself. He told me I needed to verify that I wanted to cancel, when in fact I was signing up. They only recorded portions of the conversation, not all of the fraudulent things he said to mislead me. After I did not receive a letter or gift cards, I spoke with my bank to see if I had any charges. I did not know how there could be since I never gave them my credit card number. Somehow this person had my name, phone number and credit card number without me giving him any of it.

I then received the membership packages in the mail, which I called and canceled immediately, however I was told I could not recover the shipping and handling charges. I spoke with someone at the company and told them of the deplorable actions of their employee Arron Butler. The agent I spoke with had received other calls about him and he was reported to management. But she was afraid I could not get those charges credited back to me.

BE AWARE of this company, do not even listen if they call you. If they are employing people like Arron Butler they must be criminals. He probably learned this sales technique from this company.

I just had the same thing happen to me, and my debit card was charged as well. I had to file a report with the police department against this company and their "sister" company, Road 2 Wealth.
Had to cancel my deit cards, and had a fraud alert placedon my account. Nightmare! Too, I know my conversation with these people was recorded, and I know what I sais. Just wonder how much of the recorded conversation was edited out for their benefit!

YES! i just talked to them they have been calling me for days now and they woke me up this morning so i was pissed off enough to answer the phone. I was on the phone with them for a good 2 hours arguing about these programs i had supposedly signed up for and why I had to verify information that they supposedly already had. I kept getting into a fight with one guy then I was transferred over to another they wouldn't even let me talk and I kept saying what poor customer service you have. They have indian accents and will say that you won a package of some sort. The first time they called me they said i won a 100 gift card to wal-mart a 300 gas card and a 2 night 3 day stay at a golf resort and spa. This morning they guy just said that it was a 200 walmart gift card and a 200 gas card. I have only 2 cards my debit bank card and my citi card that i earn cash back on so i asked what card did i win these packages on because they were talking about a point system and they said my visa card. I don't own a visa card and said that he got very upset and wasn't sure if it was visa because i hadn't verified my card yet and he needed to make sure it was correct some mumbo jumbo i couldn't even understand them half the time. Then he said if i didn't verify my card number and information on the recording line that they wanted to transfer me to that i would be charged a monthly memebership fee of 25.95 every month for signing up for the programs and to cancel i needed to get the verification number and in order to do that i needed to give my card number. So i asked him what would i become a member of (no clear answer) then i asked him how many months i would be charged if i refused to give my card number in the verification and get this...he said it goes on and on and on and on! i said what? so your saying for the rest of my life im going to be charged a memebership fee that i don't even know what im a member of? so i was like you make no sense if goes on and on and on? he said you signed up for the programs a couple of weeks ago and gave the women your card number and i never gave any women my card number and i talked to her just a few days ago in your records when does it say i signed up for these programs? after saying it would take to much time and to trust that my information goes into a safe system that gets automatically deleted he said feb. 29th is when i signed up for the programs which isn't even a real date so i hung up and cancelled my 2 cards just to be safe. He said one of the programs is somethign called Financial Exchange and i couldn't understand the rest of what he said. THANK YOU to whomever wrote the previous 2 comments because when i asked them their company and address i wasn't able to find the address and only a few articles about scams THANK YOU u guys helped a bunch!

Sadly I have just been suckered into this scam. My family & I are having a tough time making ends meet right now... so I fell for it when they called. I was told I won a $200 wal-mart card and all they needed was the $3.95 for shipping & processing. I was sure to ask several times if that would be the only thing I would be charged and that I was not interested in anything else because my family could not affort it. I was assured that it would be a one time fee taken out of my credit card and nothing more. To my horror I had three other charges posted to my credit card. I was able to call & get 2 charges removed. The women told me that because there was a 10 day trial period that I did not cancel within that there was nothing I could do & would now be charged $39.95 for the next 24 months. How is this possible?! I am doing my best to clean up my credit & make ends meet & now I have this! Sadly my credit card is what gets me by till pay day so now I know I've got to get it cancelled... but what else can be done?

I am in the same situation - Ironically, I was lead into a free trial program for financial education materials "Road to Wealth" when all I was really getting was scammed out of $800 of magazines I told the sales person "I DID NOT WANT - FREE OR NOT" because I do not ever have time to read magazines.

I am taking legal steps in this matter as follows ...
1) Contacting my bank about letting my visa bank card number (actually the one my husband's name is on) be so
easily accessed and charged
2) Contacting a lawyer
3) Reporting this to the Better Business Bureau
4) Calling the magazines that we received (none of which I would ever subscribe to) to report that they are going to
have their name publicly brought into this SCAM!
5) Reporting this to my local news channels (and possibly - because I do not know how to get the story covered -
contact the news shows on network channels including ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. ) to make this scam public

At this point it is not just about the money they scammed (tricked)me out of but also the principle of matter. I think that I am an intelligent individual that got tricked out of money that I never would have agreed to had their "Verification Process" - you know, the one that they say so quickly that you would need a degree in auctioneering to ever understand or hear all the details, had not been so quickly stated. This is how they got me. The original scammer (Brian - ext. 267) got mad at me and had to start the recording over 2-3 times because I kept interrupting him about the free magazines.

As of right now, I have been scammed. My money and bank account have been stolen/jeopardized, And I am about to spend some passionate time taking steps to make sure that this does not happen to others. I can not even imagine the money that people without the will, energy, or know-how get taken for by this "company".

Stick to your guns and take steps to make this as public as you can - there is power in numbers!

Yes, something similar happened to my son. Discover Enterprise called him on his cell phone a nd said they wanted to send him a "gas discount card" as a reward for being such a good customer. They ended up sending him several magazines that he did not ask for instead and are now threatening him to get money they say he owes them. We've cancelled all our cards and plan to file complaints with the BBB, county prosocutor and state attorney generals office.

This company text me and said that i won a 200.00 walmart gift certifacate. So i called them and spoke with some telemarkerter that had a funny name. He told me that all i had to do was to pay 9.99 for shipping and handleing when asked if i could send a money order or money gram to cover that fee he stated that their system was not set up for that and that i would have to use a debit or credit card. I asked why he said that they wanted to verify that i was the card holder and they would only charge 1.00 and then i mail the shipping and handling fee this made no sense to me. Why do they need my bank card if im going to be sending them the fee in the mail. So i hung up and looked them up online and found this page im so glad! People please be careful. If it sounds to good to be true then its not true! BE CAREFUL

If anyone has any problems with this company - write to them. I got a test message claiming that I could "claim" my "free" $200 Walmark Gift Card Voucher. Sound familiar? I called a representative and asked to be taken off the "text" list as I have to pay for those and she said okay and hung up BEFORE getting my info. So, I called back and spoke with another representative.

Their address is:
Discovery Enterprises
101 41st St.
Phoenix, AZ 83846

Upon information and belief, I believe this is an actual address - but you never know with telemarketers! Good luck to all.

My name is Esmael Tijerina. I was just made aware about this companies fraudulent and criminal behavior when they scammed me. Today is March 18, 2010. I beleive I was scammed on 3/15/2010. My room-mate, Kim, was not welcoming the idea of me giving Discovery Enterprizes her credit card number, due to her past experiences. She went along for me. I was told that I would receive a $200.00 walmart gift card, and a $500.00 groceries voucher. All that was required for me to pay was $4.95 each charge. I was told that I would be charged for two (2) charges of $4.95, totaling to $9.90 from our credit account. I looked up this Discovery Enterprizes on the internet, and WOW! I was severely shocked at what I found out about this company. If they are known to commit these fraudulent crimes against people, then why is the law enforcement agencies not getting involved? This does not make any sence to me. They need to close down this business, and prosecute everyone involed in this scam. If anyone ever decides to file a class-action lawsuit against this company, I will be a witness to this type of injustice. You can reach me at jamesbalboa1@gmail.com. Or, give me a call at [protected]. If we do not get together in unity to stop these criminals, they will continue their spree.

This company is a total scam and bull %$#^. December 2009 I was offered the $200 gift card from Walmart, for a mere $4.95. I never received the gift card, the $4.95 was taken out of my account, as well as 19.95 and $49.95. I am fighting right now to get this money back into my account. I filed a complaint with the bank which my credit card is through. I have never received anything from this company...NOR DO I WANT ANYTHING EXCEPT MY MONEY BACK. The people at the Discover Enterprise company are ALL VERY RUDE AND SARCASTIC. They told me since I cancelled my credit card, that I am now being turned over to collections, since i now owe over $200 for these magazines I NEVER ORDERED! PEOPLE BEWARD OF THIS COMPANY...DON'T GET INVOLVED! These people are crazy and they STILL call me looking for their money...YA GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! DISCOVER WHAT A SCAM DISCOVER ENTERPRISE IS!

March 25th i seen something on my computer about a 200 dollar wal mart gift card and a 500 dollar grocery voucher. When i called to inquire the rep told me all i had to do was pay shipping of 4.95 and as long as I cancelled within 30 days nothing would be charged to my account. I repeatedly axsked him that 4.95 was all that was going to be charged and I would receive my voucher. He told me to wait one week for the voucher. Two weeks go by and no voucher and a nice 250 dollar transaction on my credit card from these lunatics and some bull ### magazine with crappy coupons. I was irate and called they said no refund on the money and the guy told me 7 days to cancel. i was persistent about the 30 days and they said they would listen to the tape. They called the next day and let me listen to the recording and conveniently it was after i gave him my credit card information and the whole discussion about the voucher and the 30 days was not there. I am seriously considering getting a lawyer but the money for him is more than the 250 they took from me guess im stuck between a rock and a hard place. Also I still haven't got my voucher whats that all about. Just bold face lies to make sales. This has got to be against the law. Also everyone I talked to was sarcastic smart ###. I figured this had to be based in California, they really know how to scam you there.

There are a myriad of complaints against Discover Enterprises, Inc. on this site, and ALL of them are similar to my experience. I received a marketing call from them. They somehow already had my credit card information. They promised a $200 gas card. Then, they told me of a trial for coupons that would offer savings off of lots of daily purchases. They never mentioned magazines. They only said that if I failed to cancel with in 10 days, I would be under contract with them and would have to pay a "small penalty" for canceling later.

First of all, I never got a gas card. Second, I only received a letter in the mail that said I would be subject to a price adjustment if I didn't cancel in 10 days. Finally, they listed a bunch of magazines I didn't want and said they would be coming in the mail unless I called to change to order. I tried to call three times and was left on hold for more than 15 minutes each time. Obviously, they do this so that you get frustrated and hang up instead of waiting to cancel. Well, I made the mistake of hanging up each time, and forgot about it four a couple weeks. Then, I start seeing $49.96 charges on my credit card. Two months later, I had $100 worth of charges, NO gas card and NO magazines!

So, I finally call and wait for almost 30 minutes on hold to speak to someone. When I do, they say that it's too late. I am locked into a 60-month contract that will cost – get this – $1, 498! I freaked out. They guy then tells me the only way out is to pay a $498 penalty. I ask to speak to a supervisor, etc., and long story short, they were rude, condescending and unrelenting.

So, I paid the $498 and then promptly reported them to the Better Business Bureau. The first response through the BBB from the company was another "too bad" statement, saying that I agreed to all this and they weren't going to refund. Then, I went back on, said I didn't accept their response and mentioned that I found numerous references to Discover Enterprises, Inc. as being a fraudulent company and a "scam."

Well, that did the trick because five days later, I got a response through the BBB that "all monies have been refunded to the account." A couple days after that, and a full credit showed up on my credit card statement. I am not in the process of having that credit card number shut down and a new one established to avoid future scams.

My advice to all of you: If it's not too late: DON'T purchase anything from this company. They are total snakes. If you have already fallen for it as I did, persist with the BBB and your credit card company to have the charges reversed. My representative at Chase said they have had numerous complaints about this company and when the credit card company or the BBB push the issue, they almost always refund the money because they don't want to deal with you.

So don't give up! I didn't, and it was relatively easy to get my money back. If what these people are doing was legal and fair, they wouldn't give in so easily!

wow! I'm sorry to hear all of this, to the ones who got tricked. I almost fell for this. Today I received this same call why I was online. The salesperson or scammer gave me the name of the company, discover enterprises and I just google it. I found this. I was on the verge of giving them my credit card information, but God worked for me. I eventually just hung up the phone and they called back like four times and I ignored all of the calls. It is sad that people thrive on others, but it is life. For those who had their money taken, I do advise to seek legal advice for this matter.

i am so mad and disgusted about all of this it makes me sick! last week i kept getting calls from this # and initially kept ignoring them but their persistance paid off, because i made the mistake of answering. the chick i spoke to said i was chosen by my credit card company or some crap (she was hard to understand, thick indian accent) as a preferred customer because of good credit history to recieve a free complimentary gift from them of $500 worth of grocery vouchers to be used at any grocery store and the only fee i had to pay was the 3.95 shipping once i recieved the vouchers in the mail and it would be taken off my card. she claimed they needed the card # and expiration date and when i said i was not comfortable with that she explained that it was just so they would know i had a valid card to pay the s&h fee. i knew better, my gut told me not to, but she was very convincincing of their authenticity, even giving me her name 'charlotte williams' (doesnt sound indian at all, does it) and employee id #. she kept repeating herself over and over too (im guessing now it was probably to manipulate my responses on recording). i tend to consider myself a fairly intelligent person and i really am irritated that i was dumb enough to fall for this huge bs of a scam but as a single mother of 2 with my youngest dealing with heart disease and transplant looming in the near future for him $500 of groceries wouldve been really nice. i know nothing is free, i dont know why i let myself be so easily manipulated because of money. anyway, after giving my card # i was transferred to some guy, also thick indian accent, who said i was almost ready to recieve my confirmation # which i would later need to activate the vouchers, all i had to do is say 'yes' at the prompts and ignore what the prompts are saying, its nothing id be charged, just advertisements. that was when i had enough. id already been on the phone a good 45 mins and realized this was nothing but [censor] so i hung up before answering any prompts or what ever it was. they IMMEDIATELY called be back a godd 5 or 6 times in a row, which ignored, and continued to call with #s showing up from california, nebraska i believe and one other state right up til midnight that night. after i had hung up on the guy i immediately got online to check it out and found all this info of others who had also been scammed so i called my bank right away and explained the situation, they told me they already had a pending charge just taking place from this unkown company for a dollar something. my card was cancelled right away and and they told me if the charge went through i would be contacted to come to the bank and file a fraud claim. the next morning i continued getting calls from these scam artists to the point i was so ticked off that i answered, told they guy that i knew about their scam, was filing fraud against them, and was disgusted by them and demanded them to stop harassing me and hung up. right away they had the nerve to try calling back! its been a week and a half and the calls still continue. im waiting to see if i get anything in the mail saying i owe them money or something as it seems they are trying to make it look like people are purchasing magazines that they knew nothing about. i honestly dont know how these people live at night preying on people like this and as far as im concerned, i agree with what someone above stated, THEY CAN ALL ROT IN HELL!

Iam in the same boat as everyone else. They scammed me over a year ago. I canceled my card at that time. They even played a tape back that was so obvious they cut parts out. And today (year later) i received a letter for a settlement offer. (they've got some nerve) I called the number on the letter and spoke to some woman and after a few word that i can't repeat Here I hung up on her. These people should be put in jail! What can be done to stop them?

i am in the same boat as everyone else. im 19 and living on my own and talked to many others who though that paying only like four dollars for shipping is a good deal for a 500 dollar wal mart gift card, then i started getting statements that i owe them this huge amount of money for shat i never ordered or got, the reason for these statements is bc i cancled my debit card since large amounts of money went missing, and since they cant get there money they are billing me. i really need help in knowing what to do

I am unfortunately in the same boat as everyone else that fell for this scam. I was contacted by a female stating that her name was Jennifer Smith agent# 14107, supposedly i had won a Walmart gift card for $500 and i only had to pay $1.00 now and later i would be charged $4.95 for shipping and handling. I was also told that if i wanted to cancel that i had 30 days to do so with no additional charges to me. "Jennifer" kept assuring me that this was NOT a scam and i repeatedly let her know that i am on a fixed income with a handicapped child and i am handicapped as well and in need of a kidney transplant. My gut tried to let me know that i shouldnt fall for this but of course i didnt listen. I gave them my info and i thought i got all their info, but the next day i googled them and came across this info no charges had been made to the card yet so i reported the card stolen im still waiting to see whats going to happen regarding this situation. We need to inform everyone not to fall for this scam because it is everywhere. There are even pop-ups on the internet that say you won a gift card from Walmart. This company is taking advantage of thousands of elderly and low income people.

I have went to the better business bureau and filed a complaint on this company. If we all do this maybe we can get this resolved. Just go to bbb.com. answer the questions, and they take control from there. I received a response from the bbb today. The company tried to tell them they have never spoken to me. I responed and now waiting on another response from bbb. I won't let this go. when you file your complaint put this address:

Discover Enterprise
561 Ketstone Ave. PMB 299
Reno, Nevada 89503

Put the person you were contacted by: Liz Robinson

Phone # [protected]
Fax # [protected]

They will refer you to bbb in Oakland CA 94607. They will send your complaint to them though. You just have to file the complaint with the nearest bbb. They will ask for your zip code. Don't delay. Let's get our money back and stop this company from scamming other people.

It’s like there was no effort made to be funny. Please have the writers do better if he is going to be back next here. Tracy Morgan is better than this.

There is a political commercial running on tv that claims republicans are the cause of the riots and chaos in this country even going so far as to call republicans traitors. You obviously have forgotten that the democrats are the party of slavery, civil war, war against the native Americans, segregation and murdering their children.

Discovery plus plays this trick, they won’t let you cancel until the exact date of monthly renewal and then when you do get to cancel they still put it through for another month.

Just so you know, every time that traitorous [censored] Mike Lindell comes on with a My Pillow commercial, I change the channel.

Peddle his [censored]ty product (and insurrectionist dick-nosed face) at your peril.

We non liberal people know that climate change is absolute nonsense. Why does your channel even entertain the fasad? The is no scientific proof of climate change, only a liberal agenda. Do better, God is watching.

Kiki whatever are we there yet. Most annoying ad ever especially when watching an adult show like Gold Rush, these ads seem focused for a 5 year old! Gold Rush is more adult focused.

Expedition X is awful!

Please show Expedition Unknown only!

Josh Gates is much better!

Show more of his shows and delete Expedition X!

Who ever came up with Expedition needs to go back to the drawing board!

I had rather watch year old reruns of Expedition Unknown than watch one minute of Expedition X!

Please take Expedition off the air!

I disagree 1000% .! Josh Gates is great, and has split his interests into separate shows, which was a fabulous idea, as some people, I for one, prefer the paranormal aspects of "X".

Really shocked by contestants targeting and killing the rattlesnake completely unprovoked. This was animal cruelty and shouldn’t be done, let alone encouraged or endorsed on this programme. This was not about survival it was animal cruelty and murder for entertainment and to show off.

The commercial with Jason Mamoa with 2 people on the beach is offensive. He makes a comment about mating when a man is proposing marriage and then makes a thrusting hip gesture and grunts. It's an insult to compare marriage to mating. It's also not appropriate to have those kinds of gestures on prime TV where kids can see it.
