Dear David Weekley Homes Corporate Customer Care / Warranty Department,
I am writing to formally escalate my concerns regarding workmanship and warranty service at my home.
I have reported multiple issues that I believe require proper inspection and correction by the builder. Unfortunately, I do not feel that the warranty process has adequately addressed the problems or provided a lasting solution.
The two main concerns are:
1. Yard drainage problem
There is a drainage issue in my yard that I have reported to the warranty team. Although I understand that work has been scheduled to address the drainage, I am concerned that the underlying problem has not been properly evaluated and resolved. I expect the builder to correct the drainage issue properly rather than provide a temporary or incomplete solution.
2. Opening/gap at the soffit/roof area
There is an opening/gap around the soffit and roof area of my home. This appears to provide a potential entry point into the attic. I have had a problem with mice getting into the attic, and I am concerned that this opening may be one of the ways they are entering the house.
The warranty response to this issue has not been satisfactory. I do not believe simply addressing the mice after they enter the attic is an adequate solution. The potential entry point needs to be properly inspected and sealed as part of correcting the construction/workmanship issue.
I purchased my home expecting it to be properly constructed and for legitimate construction and warranty issues to be addressed appropriately. I am disappointed that I have had to repeatedly follow up without receiving a satisfactory resolution.
I am requesting that this matter be escalated to a corporate representative and that David Weekley Homes arrange for an appropriate inspection of both issues. I would also like a clear written explanation of what will be done to permanently correct the problems and when the repairs will be completed.
Please do not close the warranty request until the underlying issues have been properly inspected and resolved.
I would appreciate a prompt response from someone at the corporate level who can take responsibility for coordinating the resolution of these issues.
Thank you for your attention. I look forward to receiving a response and a clear plan for the necessary repairs.
Sincerely,
Jennie Dao
