To whom it may concern,
I am writing to report an unresolved issue regarding a laptop I purchased from your Currys store in Oxford (details shown on the attached receipt). I bought the device only two days ago, and it has clear defects: it overheats under normal use, and the display shows uneven, incorrect colours. These problems were present from the very beginning and make the laptop unreliable.
When I returned to the store today to request a refund or an exchange, I was refused by the staff member at the returns desk (name: Laurise). I was told that the laptop cannot be accepted back simply because it was opened. This is unreasonable, as faults can only be discovered after opening and testing the device.
I was also told that because the purchase was made through FlexPay finance, the store “cannot do anything.” After contacting Customer Service, I was told the opposite — that the store must handle the issue. I am now being passed around with no solution, despite having received a faulty product.
I am requesting a proper resolution: either a refund or a replacement with a different model, because this specific model is known to have issues, and other customers have reported similar overheating problems. I do not want the same model again.
