order fulfillment
On 06/07 by costco.com I had ordered a little rug, which meant to be a birthday present for a friend of mine. To avoid any payment discrepancies, I paid with a prepaid visa card. The payment went through with the delivery supposedly in 3 days.
Ten days later I found out, that not only it was not delivered, the order was cancelled. When I call, the customer care rep said it's because I used my initials instead of full name. (however, it did not prevent from withdraw money from my card!)
The same item with the same form of payment. Had been re-ordered
(order #[protected] on 06/17). And cancelled again.
This time the supervisor of the fulfillment department (malissa ph 5094541257) said that she is unable to verify first and last name on the lease of the apartment (!)
The addressee, friend of mine, for almost two years lives in highly secured rental property, where mail delivery never been a problem. It is a nonsense to say, that someone like malissa has an authority to verify names on the lease of hundreds of units. Obviously, it's done for some fishing purposes.
Everywhere cosco guarantees 100% satisfaction.in my case, so far, my order had not been filled, a present to a friend has not been shipped, and with all of that I was robbed time and money
the attitude/manner of a cashier named julio
My name is Kelvin Vong and I have been a Costco member for over 20 years. My membership no. is [protected]. I shop at Costco almost every week. Long time ago, I noticed that Costco cashiers arranged items in shopping carts with barcodes facing upward so that items could be quickly scanned and purchases completed faster. I was sometimes told to do that. I agreed with this measure as it will save both the time of Costco cashiers, myself and shoppers in the line. Therefore, I always try my best to arrange items in my shopping cart in this way. I have never encountered any problem.
But, last Saturday, June 9, 2018, When I went to the Costco located at 1600 El Camino Real, So. San Francisco and arranged my items in my shopping with barcodes facing upward ( 3 items on the transfer belt ), a cashier, named Julio, told me ( in a rude ordering tone ) to move my items from the cart to the belt. I asked him why he required to do that. He then said in a very rude tone " this is my way of doing business " and picked my items from my cart and threw them on the belt.
I was upset and asked to talk to his manager. He said " go ahead " and, pointing to a lady not far away, and told me: She is the manager. I talked and complained the lady whose name is Mechelle and she is an assistance manager. But, she seems not too care about my complaint and said you need to place small items on the belt, not in the cart. When I stressed that Julio could tell me in a polite way, but he was very rude (many customers were present at that time). And, I told her I will file a complaint to your corporate office. She then said " I will talk to him"
The transaction ID no. on my receipt is [protected], Seq# 11028, time : 13:58.
With my 22 years' shopping experiences at Costco, this is the second time I need to file a complaint. As far as I can remember, I complained about a member service desk staff when I tried to return a small item (seems to be a small heater worth around $50.00).
As an Asian Chinese, I personally observe that, although discrimination is not legal, it still prevails in U.S. Many of Costco employees are very helpful and friendly. But, few of them might not be
And, I would say that these two unpleasant shopping experiences were mainly due to racial discrimination. Should I be a native American, I wouldn't have been treated so impolitely.
costco optical service
This evening, I went into Costco Optical in Orem UT to purchase glasses and received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Kathy in Optical service treated me like a dirt. Very unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. From her facial appearance to the way she spoke. I don't know if she was having a who-knows-what bad day, but you can't treat a customer like that. Oh and that fake smile at the end when she actually noticed my feelings, it will be remembered for a good chunk of time. I really hated myself afterwards purchasing something from there.
purchaser of food
I have been a member of Costco quite frankly as long as I can remember. Lately, I have been underwhelmed with the selections of products you are carrying. I can no longer get Johnsonville brats they have been replaced with "kirkland." I can no longer purchase beef ribs as you no longer carry them. The quality of the lettuce in the store is very poor. The romaine hearts are not even green just yellow and white. We are strongly reevaluating our membership with Costco. Unfortunate.
gun safes
I was at the Albany, Oregon location yesterday to look at a gun safe that my father saw on display a couple weeks prior to my visit. I found where the safes were located, but they were all in boxes on the floor level. I asked an employee if there was a display, as seeing it before purchase is a criteria of mine to ensure quality of design. Gun safes are a personal item and cannot be purchased without looking at them, just like a car or motorcycle. The employee called in to management on the radio and was informed that corporate won't allow gun safes to be on display anymore due to children climbing inside. (Children climbing inside isn't the safe's fault, it is the staffs' fault for not keeping it locked at all times unless they unlock it for a serious buyer while supervising the inspection of the safe, by the way). I talked to two managers. I explained that I really want to buy the safe, but I have to inspect it first. I asked for a solution and they kept repeating themselves, "Corporate doesn't want safes on display." They told me I can purchase one and if I don't like it I can return it later. Except I live on a third story apartment and do not want to haul it up, only to haul it down later. I would like to purchase one time. As I gave up on the stupidity, I walked back over to the safes. I saw out of the corner of my eye a different safe that was huge on display! Just sitting there, about 100 feet away from the safes that I was looking at (this one was a different make/model). I walked back over to the managers and asked how they can have a huge safe on display after telling me that corporate won't allow this. They literally told me "That one falls into a different category." I was stunned at the hypocrisy, the lack of authority, and the stupidity that these managers have, as well as corporate (if in fact they are the ones who won't allow displays). I won't waist my time on Costco anymore. Customers cannot be helped anymore now days. Businesses used to go above and beyond to make a sale, not anymore. I am extremely disappointed in Costco!
cumberland mall atlanta ga
Now I been going to Costco for many years and never had a problem but today. I was unable to buy lunch like I normally do. When I ask to speak to the manager he was rude and disrespectful. The man is clearly not professional I am a manager myself and I don't ever talk to a customer like that. Fix the issues please. He need to learn how to be more professional.
roasted chicken
This Elizabeth Sabulao. I would like to make a formal complaint regarding the roasted chicken that we bought at Costco Stockton on Thursday, June 7, 2018 for our dinner. That was the only meal that we had that time with rice. At about 2am, June 8 I began throwing up. Almost every hour I throw up. At about 6am, I started to have diarrhea. My 3 children when they woke up started complaining stomach cramping. One of my boys threw up in the bed because he cannot hold it anymore. They had diarrhea and nausea. It lasted until Saturday, June 9, 2018. I am sure the chicken that we had was infected with salmonella. It was not well done. It still has red parts on thighs and other parts of the chicken. Until I still feel stomach cramping. I did not call 911 because of the hassle of having the entire family in the hospital. I know the bacteria is still in our body because we can still feel the stomach cramping and we still have diarrhea. I hope that you will take into account of this because 4 of our family members got infected.
customer service
This evening, I went into Costco in Missoula, and I received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have over 8 years of Professional customer service experience and I honestly have never experienced anything like this. The cashier Sarah N, did not even acknowledge me, she did not even look at me, she did not say hello, in fact she said absolutely nothing to me. As she was scanning my items, she was talking to the cashier assistant the entire time. As a professional... I was applaud. Absolutely, no one should be treated that way. Not a customer, let alone a human being.
membership
Hi there,
I am writing today to express my frustration after visiting your store here in Wilmington NC. Yesterday, 6/5/18 around 12-1pm my parents and I made a trip to check out the store and with plans to purchase a membership. We had already decided that we wanted to first ask for a visitor pass to look around and just get a feel for your store, as many of our friends did this, and all ended up purchasing a membership after doing a walk through. We approached the customer service counter, a woman maybe mid 40's was working. My mother asked very nicely to the lady working for a daily pass and the she rushed my mom off several times. After this occurred, my dad said, "wait wait wait we have some questions." My dad then asked the lady about the different memberships and in a very nasty manner, she just pointed behind her on the wall where the prices were listed and told him, "they prefer to talk to people about memberships when they're ready to buy one." Well after this we all kind of looked at each other and turned around and walked away. We still walked around for a bit, but did not end up going back to purchase a membership in the very end although we wanted too. The whole incident and interaction that we had with this lady working at that counter made us not even want to buy a membership. Anyway, I am writing you today because this has bothered me since yesterday. Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.
Katie
food services
How come Costco doesn't sell pepperoni and sausage pizza at the food court? You guys would make a KILLING if you served that instead of only cheese, pepperoni, and the combo pizzas. No one really loves olives! I ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pizza for my team of colleagues and we all fell IN LOVE. Please consider in making this another option of pizzas to choose from. TEAM PEPPERONI AND SAUSAGE!
management
I was at my local Costco (400 Costco Dr #150, Tukwila, WA 98188) getting gas which I do almost every day being an UBER driver. I am a Executive member. I went in to pick up a chicken. I saw they were burnt to various degrees. I wanted another to pick up that was not burnt. I was told the burnt ones had to be sold before they would put more out. I went to get a manager. This took a VERY long time when I ran into someone to help me find a manager. Apparently in the meantime the employees knew I was getting a manager and took the worst of the burnt ones off of display. Still burnt ones there when I got back with a manager. People behind counter smirking when I got back with manager. Even though you could still see chicken with black on it manager kept on saying that is the way they have to look to be sold.
Manager did not offer to get me another chicken that was not burnt. Manager kept on saying chickens were not black although I was looking at them. Manager did not ask of people behind counter if chickens were removed. He just basically blamed the Executive Member for having eyes and seeing black chickens and trying to get me through repetition of saying they were not black to take a burnt chicken. Being a business owner myself I know a manager should try to please the customer even if they do not agree with them. It would have been easy to say that he wants me to be a happy customer and he would make sure to get me a chicken I am happy with. He did not do this. Because of his insistence that they were good I was basically being insulted like I could not see the black chicken skins. Again very bad customer service by a manager. He defended his employee but insults members by his action. He needs customer service training. He is the type of manager who wishes to be his employees buddy at all costs rather than also being a manager. He would rather be a bad customer service person than risk not being his employees buddy and friend.
service
Well my husband and myself have been members of Costco for some time now approx. 10 years give or take. recently we opened our own business and we have always travel to Kalispell from our home town which is about 2 hours away for our product in a half a year we spent quite a bit of money at Costco each time we check out its a question on the individuals we check out with because we are treated differently at different times. today we went in for our usual product run for the week. Well we are both on the same account our mail that comes from Costco comes in my husbands name proof he is the main card holder, when we go to check out we used my card because his was left at home no big deal so we thought since we are on the same account we both pay for the same exact account our credit cards are in our names together. Any way when we were checking out we used my card but my husband had the cash in his wallet as I didn't take my purse and we were told that we can no longer do this if he is paying he has to use his card if I am paying I have to use my card which is completely a stupid rule. I don't know if we are treated different because of our race since we are natives but there have been many times we come in and are treated very unfriendly but then there are times when we are treated very well too. This is why I say when we are checking out we have to make sure we watch out for the individuals at the cash register because of treatment, we spend lots of money for our business and would like to be able to just go in shop in peace and check out in peace with nobody telling us how to shop or pay for our product we pay our card membership which is $120 each year that is on the same account. We pay the same way every time but there are certain individuals that want to start giving us new rules. If this is such a problem then why are we on the same account whats the point of having two cards for a husband and wife what difference does it make whos card we are using mine or his when we are both there checking out together and why does it make a difference who is paying when we are both there checking out together? It is very irritating when different individuals have their own rules I have always liked Costco regardless of the treatment but I tend to go to great falls to Sams Club because we are treated better it doesn't matter who is paying and who is holding the card as we have our accounts there as well. when walking in the doors of sams you don't even have to show your card until you are checking out. When your points are added up through the year you don't have to wait for a check in the mail that looks like junk mail its right there electronically asking if you would like to use your points I mean we are in the 20th century who uses check anymore anyway, We are very friendly and easy to get along with individuals so it is very frustrating to be treat with such disrespect and treated like we are lying or cheating on something we pay for
cashier
I was at the Sudbury Ontario location. On Sunday June 3 was looking for a product. I asked the guy that was working on the floor. He told me to ask the cashier and they would be able to find out for me from the computer check invetory. I get to the cashier to pay from my items I kindly ask the Male cashier if they had that item I was looking for. His comment to me was "does it look like I know? Do you see a computer here"? I'll tell you where you will have a computer then says over there .. than proceeds to yell item check. Not sure if he was having a bad day but I was a customer kindly doing what I was told. I didn't appreciate the way he responded to me. I never had a bad experience at costco until this day. I don't want to have to worry if I asked something will I be given attitude. I know there are ways of responding to customers and that was not professional.. I can understand if a customer was rude...but I kindly asked him. I don't want to have to worry if I will be snapped at for requesting information. Otherwise I find costco a great place.
citi credit card
I have canceled my Costco Citi credit card when I found out that Citi is initiating their own form of gun control. I find that Citi goes against what I believe in. I thought that you might want to hear it from and Executive member of Costco. I would like to still be a member of Costco but if your corporate policy follows that of Citi then i will need to cancel my membership. It is too bad when companies force their political beliefs and biases on everyone.
very bad customer experience from a cashier at one store
The incident happen on June 2, 2018.
My client # is [protected] Elvin E Santiago Flores.
At the location 363 at East Bayamon PR.
Cashier # 99 name Denisse.
Today I bought $490, this includes 10 shirts, the cashier was scanning the products very fast and I told her that looks like she made a mistake charging over one Tommy Hilfiger shirt, she count them with the coworker and seems to be confusion between them, I told her that seems she charged over one shirt and she said that it was ok, and no mistake happen.
when I arrive at my car I check and see that she charge 3 T. Hilfiger 18.99 instead of 2 and didn't charge a $9.97 shirt.
I return to her station and told her, she try to verify the situation over the checkout and I told her that it was wet and it will affect the shirts, she turn, give me her back and start with the next customer, ignoring me and without talking to me. I went to the counter and talk to Lewis, the supervisor, and explain to him the situation, he ask me who was the cashier and I point her, then she start waiving her arms saying "it was me", she did that in front of her supervisors, coworkers and other customers, you can review the security cameras. The supervisor give me his apology and told me that he will talk to her in private immediately. He proceed with the credit and charge me the correct shirt, he was very polite.
I'm a loyal customer to Costco, personnel is very friendly, but now I have to avoid that cashier, considering her attitude, I'm afraid she will try to revenge over me trying to overcharge me.
I hope this feedback is useful to retrain your personnel that required so, so they can show respect to the customer and people around them.
This situation was very shameful for me, I just went to buy my merchandise as I do every week, I don't visit Costco to have a bad time.
meat
I recently purchased a $47 package of NY Strips steaks from your store in Wilmington, NC.in the package they looked fine, although of different sizes. However, once I opened the package I found that the steaks had been cut on a bias. One ranged from 2.2"on one side down to less that 1" and that was along the shorter length. The longer length the cut was also unevenly. It is impossible to grill a steak properly when cut so poorly.
Maybe I can cut it up and use it for stew meat.

delivery service
I purchased a refrigerator online through Costco. As part of the delivery they were to set up the refrigerator and take the old one with them. They gave themselves a 14 hour window on the day of delivery. They dropped off the new refrigerator without set up or removing packaging. We were told they were not suppose to pick up the old refrigerator and left. I called Costco and after being on hold over 30 minutes they said they were sending out a team to set up the new refrigerator and take away the old refrigerator the next day. After waiting at home all day they were a no show. I contacted Costco once again (and was on hold for an hour) and were told they would have someone at my house by 5:45pm. 5:45 came and went so I called again. They are saying they can't send someone until June 2nd. I have been on hold trying to talk with a supervisor for over 1 1/2 hours.
Just want Costco to honor the service that I paid for.
costco concierge warranty
Costco Case # 9618947, Supervisor Badge # 3675191
I purchased an Acer Switch 12 on 09/27/2016. It came with a one year manufacturer warranty and a one year Costco Concierge extension. On 05/28/2018, I began having trouble with my battery. I called Costco Concierge and explained that after 1/2 hour of use, the battery became too hot to touch, and that the unit died after an average of 1 hour 40 minutes. The product page says that the battery should last 5-6 hours. Additionally, the unit is taking in excess of 3 hours to fully charge.
When I contacted support on 05/29/2018, they told me that they were not responsible for the unit because it still had 112 days left of the manufacturers warranty and that Acer must have made an exception and extended the manufacturer's warranty for another year because it was purchased through Costco. I contacted the manufacturer both by phone, as well as looked up the serial number on the site, and it clearly says that the warranty expired on 08/25/2017 (I'm guessing when the unit was originally shipped to the warehouse).
Now I am in a position where I should have coverage, but Costco is saying it's not their problem, and Acer is saying it's out of warranty. Acer actually cares about their customers, and is agreeing to service the unit because it is a safety issue (which Costco doesn't seem to care about), but I refuse to pay for shipping when this is covered by Costco. The fact that your company refuses to resolve this problem and actually contact Acer or let me send the documentation from Acer is ridiculous. The response I got was, "If we need to send you something, we'll email you, but you can't send anything to us."
I am disgusted with Costco's disregard for its customers. Costco needs to take responsibility, and the refusal to do so is unacceptable.
If necessary, I will submit a demand letter and file a small claims dispute for the amount that I will have to lay out for shipping; it's the principle of the thing, and yes, I am aware that the cost to file the case would be the disputed amount, but Costco needs to understand that, especially when safety issues are involved, sometimes you need to do more than just believe your computer system regardless of other available information.
The company remedied the situation
cashier
On may 29, around 5:40pm, my brother who is a member and I walked into the simi valley costco (2665 park center dr) to buy the $13 puma sandals. When my brother was looking at the sandals he realized he forgot his wallet and didn't have any cash on him so, I was like i'll pay with my debit card since we didn't want to waste any time going back home and coming back to costco later since we have a busy schedule. We get in line and the blonde cashier is like you cant pay with your card since he is the member not you. And I responded but he forgot his wallet and they are $13 sandals. And she is being rude and giving attitude and is like well I am going to call my super. So the super comes over and is like you can't pay with your card you have to use cash. And im like I only have my debit and credit card I don't have cash, but my debit card is basically cash because it's my money, plus it's just $13. Can't I just pay with my card. And he is was like well if you want we can hold these sandals for you when you come back later at night with his card. Something I have always loved about costco is their customer service and today I didn't not receive it. I understand if I was buying the product for my use or I was buying hundreds of dollars of groceries for myself then okay I shouldn't be able to use costco service since I am not a member but the sandals were my brothers and he is a member who just happened to forget his wallet. Like why couldn't I just pay using my card. It's not like we were stealing the item. And what irritated me more was just the attitude and rudeness from the blonde cashier and then the super. Seriously, individuals from thie location need to b retrained on how to deal with customers. Had they both been nice about it then we had moved on, but I can't deal with the rudeness.
upcoming new spokane store
We have shopped at the Costco Division street store since it opened in 1992. Over the years I have spent alot in the photo dept. & was recently told that when the new store will open in July there will NOT be a photo dept. - I cant imagine why you would be taking this service away from us. The dept is always busy & it is so convenient to get one or many photo prints in just minutes. And the employees are so helpful. I'm sure you will say that it all can be done online, but I know from alot of people that the online printing is confusing & No one wants to use it. Please tell me this isnt so & that you are including a "Photo Dept" in the new store. There is no where else to go & I need to print photos on a weekly basis. Thank you for listening ...Vicky P
Hello!
I LOVE so many things about Costco! I also think it's great that there is a mini restaurant to enjoy after shopping. My suggestion is to include a couple vegetarian/vegan options for this growing segment of the population. It's always appreciated when establishments like Costco are thoughtful and inclusive ...and realize that people with this regimen shop at Costco. Trust me, they appreciate and
r e m e m b e r businesses that are thoughtful and inclusive.
thanks!
