WinCo Foods customer unprofessional service

On July 22, 2016 at 22:29
The store wasn't as busy as usual and the cashier by the name of Maria decided to close her line as I approached to be checked out. I understood and moved to the next available cashier. After unloading my cart with 15 items I noticed that she allowed another customer to come after she closed her line. I approached her and let her know how upset I was and how her unethical Behavior needed to be reported to Management.

After speaking with the night Manager (Josh) he stated that he will report her to Management.

In my opinion, the customer Service at this Location need to be re trained and rewarded for excellent Customer Service

WinCo Foods lead clerk

I'm currently an employee at Winco in Garland I have a complaint against a Lead Clerk on the overnight crew I'm not sure what his name is, but he was rude to my fiance as I had got off work my fiance wasn't doing anything except waiting on me I didn't know my fiance couldn't stand and wait for me along side me when I clock out. It was the first time anyone said anything and the guy started causing a scene and other employees and customers were looking over at us like what the world is going on. I did not appreciate the guy acting the way he did. I love working with the company and this is the only complaint I have. He did not show good customer service at all.

That situation has absolutely nothing to do with customer service. Your fiance was not a customer. Your complaint also belongs to your store not the internet. You should have addressed it there.

I bought 2 lbs hamburger for my wife, and was told when she cooked it and ate it, it had hairs in it. Then week later, she asked my to buy more hamburger, but not Winco, so I went to Costco, and had to buy her a large portion, which was way too much for her, but she finally used that up, The she called and asked for more hamburger, and I bought another 2...

Nov. 2015: I am shopping at the Winco in Orangevale, CA, and as I am searching for onion buns, a Winco employee (dressed in the black win on polo shirt, walks right by me and says, "What, no fried chicken today?" he kept walking down the aisle all the way towards produce and entered into the employees only section. I stood there with my mouth open for a few...

Yesterday 5/19/14 I was shopping at this Winco with my family around 3pm Or so. I was looking for a specific item and had asked a number of employees where it was located and they all have me different answers. With that being said, I asked the manager Eli where the item was and he too did not know where it was. I had asked him if he was the store manager...

I used Winco Grocery Hemet for several years, and recently I had the horrible thing with them. I went to buy groceries and they refused to take my receipt. They told me that my name wasn’t the same as on the driver license. They asked to provide the proof and at the nest day I provided them different credit cards, but they again refused. WinCo Foods ground beef

1-22-14
We purchased low fat content 7% fat ground beef at nearly $ 5 a pound at winco. I made hand pressed hamburger patties and noticed how fatty the meat looked but went ahead and cooked anyway on grill. I got to say that this was the worst ground beef I ever tasted in my life. It was just aweful it was like chewing on leather. I will never buy any meat whatsoever from winco again. I usually buy all meat from SAMs club which is excellent quality meat. I shop at winco once a week for all my other groceries with no complaints. Bakery is very good and the prices overall are very reasonable. Just the meats are very low quality now. And I ve been shopping at winco since the early nineties and bought meats there in the past which was a little better quality then compared to now. Not ever any meat from winco again for me.

WinCo Foods mistreated

On 10/26/2013 19:15, I went into Winco on Ashlan Ave in Fresno. I happened to be driving on the street saw Winco and decided to make a quick stop since I have few coupons for any Armour products, which were about to expire in a few days. I don't even live in the area, I just happened to be in town. It was the biggest mistake of my whole entire shopping life. Along with my sister and my daughter. I was purchasing 3 boxes (18 count) of Armour Lunchmakers. The coupon stated, "$1 off any Armour Product". Along with that, I decided to get Clairol hair dye color. Coupon stated, "$5 off any two Clairol hair color". My sister and I went through a different check out lanes. My cashier 's name was Leticia. The Armour coupon wouldn't scan, so she had to call Bonnelle who was the Lead Clerk. I can hear Bonnelle telling my sister that the Armour coupon did not match the item she got and that she needs to get the one with juice with it. I also heard loudly over the next lane, "where did you guys get this coupon? we're gonna find out where these people are getting these coupons from", even the cashier told him from the newspaper inserts. When he came over to my lane, did not explain anything to me about the coupon or my transaction but instead, he was very rude, disrespectful, loudly started to say, "can't believe this", "holding up the whole store". He was also mumbling rude comments during the whole process. There were at least 7 registers open and only 3 customers behind me. Not only verbally but also his body language too was inappropriate. He kept shaking his head the whole time. I did not say 1 word. I was okay with the coupons not being accepted, but I was not okay with how he treated a customer. He got an attitude just because he had to walk over and void the transaction. His behavior was unprofessional and all that nonsense was not necessary. I felt that it was discrimination. I felt embarrassed because of his behavior. Bonnelle did not have to cause a scene. I have been in a health care for over 14 years. I have been a Lead Nurse for the past 8 years. The kind of behavior and attitude that he displayed today was inappropriate. If he was my staff, that would have call for immediate grounds for disciplinary actions. Once again, I understand if he was unable to accept the coupons, but it was unacceptable how he reacted. This needs to be addressed, and I hope this never happens to another customer. I will not be returning to any WinCo Foods.

WinCo Foods bulk bin dog treats

WinCo foods, Henderson has unsafe dog treats in their bulk bins. They will not take responsibility for selling these treat to pet owners. These treat killed my AKC Service dog, when my dog got kidney disease from two of their treats sold at their store and died. An accident report was made at this store in Feb. 2013, with no response. So with this in mind, I feel the public needs to know about their dog produces and that they do not stand behind what they sell to pet owners and if it will kill your dog or not.
We buy food and treats for our pet in the best intensions, to train and support our pet’s health, thinking that these products are fine and good, and that these stores will not sell you products for our pets which are bad. But these stores do sell us bad products. And the public needs to know and the stores needs to stand behind the products they sell and Win Co in Henderson did not for me and my service dog. Therefore you as a pet owner should not shop at Win co, Henderson for your pet treats or your pet may die.

What a bunch of crap! There's no way to clinically prove that those dog treats had anything to do with that dogs kidney failure. Chances are the dog had a problem already. This dog owners just trying to find a way to cut get compensated for his expensive trained dog. Shameful

It would be nice to know which treats this in reference to.
There are more bad treats than good ones on the store shelves.
Rawhide chews can cause intestinal issues and cost thousands of dollars for surgery to remove indigestible pieces that cause blockages.
It's up to the buyer to do their due diligence.

WinCo Foods stealing from shoplifters

Winco is making huge windfall profits off the misery of small time shoplifters. They catch someone taking a one or two dollar item and make them pay Winco a $250 fine plus the price of items taken. The shoplifter cannot take the items home, even though they are forced to pay for them.

This equates to $1, 000 per day per store if they do this only 4-times per day, which is probably a low number. Do the math and it reveals a profit of $365, 000 per year per store in free profit for selling absolutely nothing. Just ripping off people who take a small item from the store. How is this fair?

This means that for every 100 Winco stores, they are making more than 36-million dollars in free profit for selling nothing. I'm guessing that they are doing this more than 4-times per day per store, but only Winco knows for sure.

So, the bottom line is that Winco is NOT in the food business. Winco is in the business of EXTORTING money from petty shoplifters.

ummm, don't shoplift. Why should the shoplifter have the right to take it home after he paid for it? If he had the money to pay for it he shouldnt have tried to lift it.He is costing the business money and did something illegal.

WinCo Foods employment harrassment

Hi my name is Brady and I was an employee at winco foods in ogden Utah but I did post an personal ad looking for someone to be with yes I am gay but Winco Foods corporate had some complaints about my AD so management took me into the office and talked to me and put me on suspension for 3 days but they told me to take my ad down or take their companies name out of my ad so I took it down and Winco Foods got 4 more complaints after I took my Ad down so I got fired. I would think that to make it right was to put me on longer suspension instead of firing me.

WinCo Foods service dog

was shopping with my service dog & was told I could not...I was asked to remove him from my cart, as it was an 'oregon health law violation' attempted to resolve the conflict by showing my nationally recognized badge & explain that he is a service animal...was harassed throughout the store & as I was trying to pack my groceries & pay...I asked for names, so I could file a legal complaint...the manager would not stop harassing me, until I left the store...ADA LAWSUIT HERE I COME

I am surprised at some of the comments above...do you or do you not have a service animal for a disability? It is obvious who does & who doesn't...why even comment on a topic you know nothing about? Oregon does NOT have a law or regulation regarding shopping cart use! If it did, the carts would not be used for bottle & can returns, seeping goo on them, street people who not be allowed to use them, leaving all kinds of horrible germs on them & potty training/diapered children would be banned as well. The shopping cart thing is a COMPANY policy, which is illegal. My Bear is with me 24/7 & helps me integrate back into society, I was isolated for years because of my disabilities! He lets me know when I should take my meds, he is trained well & sits or lays quietly on his rug, with his service dog attire on & badge hanging in clear view, while I do my shopping. He is better behaved than most children. You would not even notice him in my cart, if I was not harassed & discriminated against, treated with disrespect by the employees at some of the stores I shop at. Winco was by far the worst, Costco comes in second & Bi-Mart third. I have demanded documentation for each of the stores, showing me where it says it is illegal for me to have Bear in a shopping cart...there is NO law, what I get is company policy. Costco actually gave me a copy of theirs! I will not be treated differently because I have disabilities!

If you need a service dog god bless you and the animal and some people have too much time on their hands a service dog generally is groomed if in a cart in often on a blanket. Same with most kids I always sanitize the handle. I worked in a store looks clean and spotless but there were roaches and rodents all over the food all the time it is rare if that is not the case due to doors being open etc... If you are worried about service dogs contaminating something it is a bit silly. All that food gets manufactured in mills and plants look up how much rodent hair and insects can be i each serving of food allowed by the FDA proper food preparation and hand washing are important for many reasons I doubt pet or service dog contamination is on the top 100 list.

It’s not the “contamination” it’s that most dogs are web site registered service animals and not trained for a specific task related the the persons disability. The majority of dogs are ESA and NOT trained for public use!

Your emotional companion animal isn't a service dog nor is the "nationally recognized badge " that you purchased from a website valid. Your dog isnt trained so get it out of the store.

I have a 9 lb yorkie and she is my therapy dog (with tag). When in stores and around food products, I hold her and quickly pick my items. When in part of store carrying non-food items, she walks on leash next to cart. She is taken to professional groomer regularly, is very calm, patient, and quiet. I try to be very respectful of others because I don't want to abuse or lose the privilege of bringing my little girl on shopping excursions.

Grocery carts are made for GROCERIES. I am neither for nor against children, nor am I for or against service dogs. I am against disruptive, unconstrained, misbehaving children and dogs. Allowing children to sit in a shopping cart is a COURTESY, not a reasonable accommodation; and it is not why the carts are provided. Additionally, older children with shoes are often in the 'food section' of grocery carts, which is completely unacceptable. There is a place for small children with a seat, leg holes and a safety belt. Children should not be allowed in any other area of the grocery cart. (Yet they are.) Older children walk.
As for Service Dogs, having them is not a 'courtesy' it is a medical necessity. The law provides for the presence of these dogs (and miniature pony's) as a Reasonable Accommodation. Like small children, small dogs walking about a store poses a safety hazard. Even the most well behaved little one can be over looked by another shopper causing an accident or be run over by a cart. They are not the ‘norm’. So, other shoppers don’t see them. Both small children and small service dogs are safer in the designated, seat belted, area of a grocery cart. And, the cart should be protected by some type of barrier. Older children and larger dogs walk.
Note: A 'barrier" (such as a blanket, towel, carrier, etc.) that separates the SERIVICE dog from the cart is acceptable by most local health codes. Frankly, the same should be required of children – a barrier between them and the cart. It’s only fair.
Consider: A service dog MUST accompany their handler. It is a health & safety issue to not have them present. Children don’t have to accompany their adult when they are grocery shopping.
One would be hard pressed to argue a small service dog, with a barrier, is not a reasonable accommodation when children (with their germs and contagious diseases), without a barrier, are allowed.
Note: Allergies are not a consideration, according to the ADA, when it comes to service dogs.

It is unreasonable that persons with disabilities are being asked to hold their dogs or make them walk. Parents are not being required to hold their children or make them walk.
Why can't we all get along? Be nice. Be courteous. Contain your children and your service dogs. Respect others. Appreciate our differences, even if we don't agree with them. And ask yourself before saying anything: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Peace, love and often.

Sitting in a cart, my service dog decreases my stress while shopping. He is sitting on my coat or a blanket or my recycle bags. He is not sitting on the metal mesh, He is only 13 lbs. and if he were walking next to me as he normally does, I worry about him being stepped on. This way he is safe, easy for me to interact with and does not bother anyone.

Service dog needs to be on the ground, as the next write stares, putting in the shopping caret is for you not your disability. This is exactly the reason people with legitimately trained service animals even seeing eye dogs are having more and more issues in public. Too many people are taking their ESA everywhere when they are NOT trained.

WinCo Foods thanks for awful customer service

I was at the seafood counter and questioned for three lobster tails. The sign read $3.98 ea, and I request they guy behind the counter to double check and he said they were. I had a hard time talking to him, because his friends kept talking over me, asking for "individually bagged shrimps" among other things, thinking they were amusing. When I was paying at the register I notice the price was over $14.00 DOLLARS for the lobster. I went to customer service immediately after being rung up to right the error. Chad S. went to check the price, that is when I found out they only wrapped TWO TAILS instead of three, and they charged me by the pound instead of by EACH tail. He then tried to tell me it was $9.96 for the two tails, I questioned him if he saw the sign that read #3.98 each and he said yes, then questioned me if I would like the difference from the $14.94 I was originally charged, I of course said yes. He gave me the difference between $9.98 and $14.94… not $7.96 ($3.98 twice) and the $14.94. When I said he over charged me again… he said "it's the tax"… THERE IS NO TAX ON LOBSTER TAILS, and even if there were, it would not equal $2.02! He then stormed away mad, refusing to give me the posted price, even though he saw the sign, and I had to request someone else to refund me completely, and left with no lobster… and mad myself. THANKS FOR THE FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE CHAD S… and the wonderful guy who ignores customers to talk to his friends behind the seafood counter!

Sorry you had a horrible experience. You should post this complaint on the Winco foods facebook. It sounds silly, but they actually take these kind of situations seriously. I have been taught that the customer is always right. I have had may instances were items were not marked properly and I had to the right thing. If its marked at that price you get it for that price. Again I'm sorry that we have failed you. Please don't let one employee's attitude affect your shopping. Let the managers know when you have been wronged. They will assist you in holding that person accountable. Hope that we haven't lost you as a customer and you continue to save money shopping at Winco.
