UPS repeated misdelivery

The third or fourth misdelivery by a subdriver: NOW I'm irritated! The first time it was funny; now it's undesirable.

I live in a duplex. A duplex is a single contiguous building on one
property divided into two dwellings. There is a walkway that extends in front of my neighbor's side, which quite obviously continues down to the porch on my side. The regular drivers (called
jobbers) know this, or were able to figure it out logically (not difficult if one is not in rush, or anxious); with them I have only
joy. However, a year ago, and now three days in a row recently, a
subdriver couldn't find the address, and said it didn't exist! EVen though it was their responsibility (after all, they were paid) to deliver, it took 4 additional work days to deliver a package of medical supplies which were time sensitive. After asking a supervisor to call me on two occasions to discuss this matter, and being jilted twice, I'm irritated and frustrated because I need
care, respect and being heard. I also care about the level of training for the subdrivers, which at this writing, appears insufficient. Thank you for reading.

UPS refuses to deliver packages to walk-ups

The UPS driver for my particular area (Mulberry Street, Elizabeth Street, Spring Street, Kenmare Street, Mott Street, etc.) will not deliver packages to customers in walk-ups!

During a community meeting, certain residents have said they have made complaints to UPS customer service but nothing was ever done about it. This leaves me wondering if his refusal to do his job fully is part of his union contract.

My building is not equipped with a buzzer, and I have asked the driver to call the number in front of the my package so I can come down for my package. He said "no" because he doesn't have a phone.

UPS drivers are not required to use their personal cell phones to call customers. Drivers are required to leave pkgs out of site and weather. The driver is also not allowed to driver release packages to apts without a signature. If they have no access to your front door they will not leave a package. It is up to you to provide the access so your driver can make a secure delivery. If the package is lost or stolen it comes back on the driver. The union has nothing to do with company rules such as driver releases.

UPS 15 days delay to delivery, negligence, worst service

I am completely frustrated with the poorest and worst service from United Parcel Service (UPS). I don't know whether I sue this company for negligence of my parcel documents, which is pending for delivery since 19 days. I don't know whether they will deliver it soon or not, but if the documents were not reached as soon as possible, my business will be seriously jeopardized.

Well, I packaged the shipment by myself. It was the immigration application package for 15 of my overseas clients. The documents had deadline with Canadian High Commission - New Delhi by 23 June 2009. Since UPS had shown this date as their scheduled delivery date, I trusted their so-called promise date, and dropped the package to them. It was really a large shipment with huge parcel cost.

I hoped that the documents was delivered on time, and just remained silent. BUT, when I reviewed the online tracking on June 26, I got then fully surprised that my documents were on holding in New Delhi Custom. It now started the worst scenario for me, because there is no way I could extend the deadline for submitting the immigration file to High Commission.

I immediately telephoned the UPS and talked to them. They said they will look over, and the next two days were holidays. Well, I thought it would be ok by Monday. On the other hand, my clients also knew that the documents were not submitted to High Commission, and they all started troubling me. On Monday, I telephoned them, they responded they would look over. Tuesday also the same thing, no good response. Wednesday was July 1 - Canada day. I hoped there wouldn't be Canada day in New Delhi, and so thought it would be delivered. Next day, I called to UPS, but they said they were still looking over the case. After whole week gone, today, July 6, at 5:00 AM, I checked the online tracking, but it still shows no information of delivery. I just tried to fax a request to UPS - New Delhi office taking their fax number from their web site, the New Delhi telephone system told me that the fax number is not registered. What a surprised... ohh my god...

As I already said, the parcel carries the dreams and life of 15 of my overseas clients, who had put faith upon me to work in their immigration case. And now, everybody is emailing me everyday asking for confirmation, whether it was submitted or not. I have already written to High Commission Program Manager about it, and he informed me that the visa offier might look the file sooner after deadline of submission.

I am now in big dilema. Today is monday morning, and I am thinking to telephone to UPS at morning. BUT, I am not sure whether they will even see my package or not. I don't know whether they will deliver my documents or not. I am not sure whether they even have the documents or not, or is it already lost?

Several questions are coming up in mind. I am now thinking if UPS did not deliver what will be my next action? What will be the dreams of all those 15 overseas clients if their applications are refused based on that?

Your problem is this, "that my documents were on holding in New Delhi Custom".
UPS has no control over the Government or Customs of another country. If Customs won't release it, there is nothing UPS can do other than return the package to you. You didn't state a reason for New Delhi's Customs to hold the packages. Your best bet is calling New Delhi's Customs and find out why they will not release your documents so USPS can deliver them.
Again, this is a Government issue. UPS cannot do anything about it.

UPS terrible company

I was to receive a package on December 17 (5 day ground). Today, it is the 23rd of December and the online tracking says "in transit." I called and asked why it is taking so long, after being patient the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and now 5th day of the package being overdue. Yes, the weather was bad last week but the weather has gotten better and the streets have been cleared considerably. I see a UPS 8 blocks away from where I live but I haven't gotten my package. Yesterday (12/22/08) I asked that the UPS agent on the phone have somebody contact me on 12/23/08 to inform me about the status of my package since I cannot accept this EXTREMELY DELAYED DEADLINE. Not surprisingly, no one called me. I called again on 12/23/08 and talked to a UPS agent by the name of PETE BUENO. I asked him to look into this matter and have someone call me. Again, no reply. The whole day, I checked online 25 times thinking today is the day but to no avail. Now, at 11:15pm on 12/23/08, it says that it is now rescheduled to be delivered on 12/24/08. This is absolutely unacceptable. I NEED THAT PACKAGE TODAY! I will do everything in my power to let others know of your poor service.

We are in Portland, OR and the weather has been poor. I paid for 2-day delivery with guaranteed arrival today, December 24.

Through the online tracking service, I was able to see that both purchases arrived at UPS Portland at noon yesterday, December 23. It is now after 5p on guaranteed delivery date, December 24, and nothing. I rechecked the UPS tracking site and my delivery has now been moved to two days from now, the day AFTER Christmas!

I understand that weather is bad, however, FedEx and the U.S. Post Office (USPS) have been making deliveries since yesterday, and USPS is even making deliveries on Christmas Day to make sure everyone gets their deliveries in time. If FedEx and USPS have found a way to meet their delivery promises, then why isn’t it important enough to UPS to find a way to do the same?!

UPS left a "1st Delivery Attempt Notification" on my Business door on Friday, October 17th, 2008 with boxes checked stating that a "2nd Delivery Attempt" would be made on Monday, October 20th, 2008 between the hours of 2pm and 5pm. By 5:30 pm, on Monday, October the 20th, no delivery attempt has been made. This has cost my business $$$$ to sit and wait for the supposed delivery to take place. A telephone call to UPS Customer Service was made and I was thereby told they would look into the matter and telephone me back. I received a callback from their office at 7:28 pm informing me that they could not find my parcel anywhere. I was then informed that "you take a chance" that your parcel will be delivered. I was then placed on hold whereby my call was dropped and never returned. Is this what "UPS" calls "Customer Service". Will my parcel ever arrive? I guess you "take a chance".

I was to receive a parcel via UPS that required signature. They tried to deliver twice early morning. I contacted them asking for afternoon delivery. I was told that delivery time is between 7am and 7pm every day, and the actual time depends on the driver's whim exclusively. This is the most ridiculous attitude toward their customers. Do they expect us to sit at home all day to wait when his/her excellency of the UPS driver feels that it is time to deliver our package? This company has totally lost their focus on their customers and no one in his right mind should use their services. I will tell every store I buy from on the web that I will stop buying from them unless they dump UPS as their delivery service.

UPS 2nd day delivery not received on 5th day

I was supposed to receive small package ( A/C part )from PA on 26th June 2009 - 2nd Day Air -
They routed my package to go to MA., instead of Tx.
on calling UPS, they said they are sorry but package will not arrive till 29th June 2009
on 29th june I called UPS at 2pm since I still did not have package..I called again..
Answer...they will deliver before 7 pm. ...I hope so?
that means you can not leave the home untill 7 pm otherwise you may miss the delivery person
and have to repeat the whole thing next day.. considering this
I think U.S.P.S. looks a lot better because I received my invoice by U.S.postal service faster than
part I ordered 2nd day Air from UPS. ...so next time use FedEx or USPS. instead

UPS does suck. I ordered a computer from Amazon for a Christmas present. I was hving it sent 2nd day air to be sure to get it on time. It left Nevada on the 17th a Thursday. On the 19th, Saturday, the tracking said it was in Des Moines Iowa. Why Iowa I can't say. I called UPS and was told it was logistics but they assurred me it would be deliverd on Monday the 21st, which was 2 day as weekends do not count. On Sunday the 20th it left Des Moines, I assumed for Denver. Wrong!, it went to Rockville Illinois. I called UPS and they said it had been miss routed, I think Iowa was a miss route, anyway they said it still would be delivered on the 21st. That was a fat out lie, it instead was sent from the air hub to the ground hub and then put on some truck for delivery, to where I have no idea. It has spent all day on the 21st riding on some UPS truck. It is now back at the ground facility. They now say it will not be delivered until the 23rd. That makes 5 whole buisness days. According to the UPS transit times, Ground takes 3 business days from Nevada to Denver. I guess 2nd day air takes longer. What a Joke UPS is. I have no confidence that it wil make it before Christmas. I was originally going out of town for Christmas but have cancelled those plans so I can get the Computer. The package as of this writing is still at the ground facility, not the air facility, in Rockville Illinois. At 10 pm Central time. I have my doubts as it making it to Denver for Delivery on the 23rd. I also have my doubts as to the condition of the computer once it arrives.

Made an appointment to pick up packages between 8-8:30 P.M. Found the place, sign on door said closed at 6 P.M. - confused to say the least. There was a UPS guy inside so we knocked on the door glass to ask if this was the right place. The UPS guy inside went around and came out behind us and went ape angry on us. Got in our faces and was yelling, waving...

UPS where's my package???

Don't you love it when you get a package but don't know who has it? UPS delivered a package that required a signature but since I wasn't home, got a stranger to sign and take the package. Then the driver didn't tell me where the package was only left a tracking number. So tracking the package I found out the day it was delivered and the name signed but no further information. I live in a high-rise with hundreds of condos so it could be anywhere! I have been round and round with UPS people who keep telling me they don't know where it is either.

Here's a thought, maybe the freaking driver might have a clue.

They are very frustrating to deal with and have sucked any common sense out of their employeers so customers are left to deal with mindless, clueless "workers". Honestly, I would love to see companies run like UPS go out of business.

UPS damaged telescope

Recently in May 2009 I had a Meade Starfinder Equatorial telescope shipped to a buyer in New York. The optical tube was shipped in a custom wood crate. When the crate arrived the outside trim along the lid was ripped off, the side wall was broken away from the crates frame, both optical mirrors were shattered, viewfinder ripped off, and the motor drive cover was shattered. The reciever took pictures of the damages and emailed them to me. I then filed a claim through UPS for damages and was told no insurance was put on the telescope. Which I understand is my fault. Reguardless if any insurance was put on the telescope UPS should take better care of peoples packages. When the telescope finally arrived at the UPS store I was told all they would give me is $100 when it was valued at $494. There excuse was is that it had no additional insurance on the package. I will never ship anything through these ###s. My next step is taking them to small claims court where I live

For one thing you apparently dont know ### about telescopes. This isn't your Wal-Mart brand that you may buy. I sold the telescope for $494 first off. The company stopped making this model years ago and so therefore parts are readily not avaiable. The guy I sold it to got the replacement price for one mirror that was broken and was going to cost over $350 to replace just that one mirror alone. The secondary 4 vane mirror that was broken costs over $200 to replace. So add that up and we are up to $550, The optical tube would have to be replaced at the cost of about $100 - 150. So now we are at $650 - 700. Then the viewfinder would have to be replaced and thats another $75-100. See I have to do the math for you because you are apparently that stupid. So take your ### ### comments and go bark up someone elses tree. Your not the one out $494. From the pictures you can see the damage was caused by careless handleing not backing. Ripped trim and broken sides off the box don't result from packageing. Argueing with you is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win your still ###ed.

Update by Muirhead82
Jun 04, 2009 9:46 pm EDT

I know it costs more to ship by freight, it was over $300 I think. The fact is is that UPS needs to handle there freight more carefully. They wouldn't want me to grab there packages and toss them around. If I had bought the insurance they wouldn't have paid the claim out anyway. Insurance companies will try to do anything to deny a claim and put the blame on the consumer. For most companies its all about money and not customer service. People put there trust in these companies only to be let down. To me this is not a insurance issue. My biggest complaint is the way packages are handled through UPS. People ship items that cannot be replaced, just like this telescope. The cost to replace the items would be over $700. I just have a problem with companies that have no respect for other peoples property. Of course this is a government ran company, which explains the dishonesty.

Update by Muirhead82
Jun 04, 2009 4:06 pm EDT

I understand that. Its just the fact that the box was mishandled causeing the damage as seen to the outside of the box from the missing trim to the sidewall being ripped off from the frame. Plus the guy at UPS told me that shipping wooden containers like that is prohibited, this is after the fact they had already shipped it. Also one employee from the UPS Store packed part of the item which was the first to arrive damaged. If wooden containers aren't allowed to be shipped then why did they ship it anyway? Insurance doesn't guarrantee it will arrive there safe. Its just something people buy for personal assurance. Maybe UPS need to come up with a new strategy on shipping large and fragile items, instead of craming it all on one truck. They should have shipped it by freight, not by a regular route truck.

Update by Muirhead82
Jun 04, 2009 1:25 pm EDT

I'm sorry you must work for UPS. They don't give a ### about anybodys stuff, because its not theres. Anyway the owner of the store told me even if I purchased insurance he would almost guarranty they would deny the claim. So insurance therefore would be a joke.

Update by Muirhead82
Jun 04, 2009 1:10 pm EDT

Insurance wouldn't have helped save this telescope. I've purchased insurance before and got screwed on that. So don't call people a tight wad or whatever. Here are additional pics of the damage.

UPS package left on a sidewalk

Ok, I had my fair share of bad times with UPS(all involved missed deliveries and claiming I was not at home) but nothing like that before. I only use UPS when it's the only option that online seller offers you.
I was waiting for a delivery which was suposed to come from 10 am - 2 pm. Having not received anything I decided to come downstairs to see if they slapped a note on the door again claiming that I wasn't at home (I live in a condo with an intercom). So it turned out the intercom was broken that day which I wasn't aware of. I found my package lying near the entrance of my condo! It was practically on the sidewalk. Any random person could have picked it up and it was worth 140$ of computer equipment. I don't understand how they could just drop a package that REQUIRES a signature. I always provide both cell and home numbers but they never call like Fed Ex or DHL do (if there's a problem with delivery). I'm glad I was lucky that it was still there when I came down. It's a mistery to me why so many online sellers use UPS as an only option.

UPS ups is the worst

I worked for UPS for three years, two and half as a supervisor (Upstate New York). They break every labor law imaginable. I had to file a sexual harassment suit when my boss called me on a vacation week. 3 times in 24 hours, two of which were at 1am and 3am and he called me a "f-in cu*t". They have such uneducated package handlers working for them that they don't think anyone knows the law, and that they can treat people like dirt. And it's sad that they get away with it.
They've got so much money to brainwash people with advertising that surprise, it works! Advertising and brainwashing is the name of the game now'a'days. Not laws.
I would NEVER ship or support this company in ANY way.
To prove a point managers would throw dell computers around the warehouse. They would scream that they would f***ing kill employees every single night. They would talk about f***ing females in front of the 10 females in the entire warehouse.
Seriously, it is the grossest company I have ever known of.
If any employee brought in a camera, or if anyone actually did a real audit of UPS in upstate NY, they would be shut down without a doubt.
I would testify in anyway I could be of assistance.

Oh yeah, and concerning customers. They refused to give out a number. I worked in the office sometimes with clerks, and seriously customers are an annoyance and joke to them.

I don't think it matters what state you work in for UPS. I worked for UPS in So. Minnesota. I swear all the UPS drivers are as* h*l*s! In my time working for UPS, I have never felt so discriminated against in any job as I did them. I was the new person hired and ok I expected to be on a job no one else wants and I was fine with that- but what they did was place me in the semi trailer and I had to fill it with all the packages coming down the conveyer. They have you stacking boxes so fast, I don't know how anyone could keep up with it. Boxes were crushing all over the place, falling off the conveyer. It was absolutely horrible. They worked me so hard I had to bring barf bags with me to work just in case. I don't mind a good workout but this was beyond anything I had ever dealt with in the workplace. I just couldn't keep up and no one would jump in the trailer to help, they just stand around and watch the packages fall all over the floor. Alot of rude people working there.

Christmas time there was a big sign posted on the bulletin board that they were not to give me a Christmas gift, that to was not very nice. I don't mind if I am low man on the totem pole and not supposed to get a gift but did they really have to post a sign? Then when I was done there ( they ran out of work) you never hear from them again. It bothered me so much I wanted to sue UPS. Never did, I am not the type of person to sue companies or anyone for that matter but I certainly felt discrimination while working for this company. I have since moved on to bigger and better things running my own successful company but still notice nothing has changed when they have to deliver my packages I still have to deal with the bunch of as* ho*es!

I made the mistake of working for UPS during winter break from college one year. They were eager to hire me because I was a female, and they needed driver helpers. They made me call in every morning, and pretty much laughed and said that they didn't need me to come in.

The one day that they told me to come in, there was ice everywhere and I didn't think that I would be able to make it in, but I went anyway. I went with the driver and we drove around delivering things, and he told me that i wasn't going fast enough. At the beginning of the shift, he told me never to exit the truck without having 3 points of contact, but towards the end, he was telling me to jump out. In my effort to hurry up and avoid being yelled at, I twisted my knee very badly. This left me unable to return to working as a driver helper, and they didn't have any other positions available.

I informed them of this, and they didn't seem to care. I still had my uniform, and was supposedly not going to be paid until I returned it. When I went to pick up my check, they gave it to me, and told me to bring my uniform in later. I started working night shift somewhere else, and my younger sister woke me up one morning very upset because a man had been at the front door, in a black shirt, and his own private vehicle leaving a 'card' for me. She picked up the card and brought it to me, and in the time being, the manager that had left it, called the sheriff's dept. and told them that I was 'avoiding him and hadn't returned any calls, and had stolen a uniform.' On the card he left, he wrote on the back in big black letters.."IF WE DON'T HEAR FROM YOU IN 48 HOURS, WE WILL PRESS CHARGES FOR THEFT."

So, the sheriffs deputy shows up at the front door to 'mediate.' Instead, he patronizes me, and high fives the district manager from UPS. He tells me to 'give the uniform back.' Sure, no problem. I give it to him, and he stands on the front porch of my parent's house BS-ing with the Deputy.

The fact that I never got a call (I don't live particularly close to a UPS store, and the one that I do live close to has odd hours, and in order to actually contact someone in management, you have to be able to get 'in' to the facility.) and this man shows up in his private vehicle and unmarked clothes that look NOTHING like what someone from UPS would wear, and then proceeds to park across the street from the house and watch to see if anyone is going in or out still drives me nuts. This was about two years ago, and I cannot stand UPS. I don't even like to buy things online that are shipped UPS.

Their unusual business practices didn't go unnoticed, my mom has been a manager for over 20 years for a well known company. She gave them a call, and I haven't heard from them since that time.

UPS lairs, deceitful business practices

I bought a Mac laptop from Club Mac. They use UPS (unfortunately) to deliver it. I received a call last Thursday from an automated UPS voice system that stated that between 8 AM and 7 PM that same day the delivery would be made to my home. I rescheduled my day to accommodate UPS, in order to be home to sign for the package. Early in the evening I checked the tracking number on-line and it stated that it was going to be delivered the following day. I was upset and called UPS. They transferred me to their Roswell, GA delivery depot. I was put on hold while they checked for my package which I decided to pick up at this location. I was on hold for over 20 minutes and when no one came back on the line I drove over to their building. The people I initially dealt with there looked around but could not find my package. The snotty-nosed female supervisor came out and told me it was still at their Atlanta depot. She was smug and did not care that I had lost my day because of her company. Even though they delivered the following day, which luckily I was home for, I hope that others planning to ship using UPS will select another courier service. UPS is a disgusting, pompous company who, like Circuit City, will hopefully go out of business soon.

My 3yr. old ., 65lb. Boxer was killed this afternoon in his own driveway. This was witnessed by my husband. The driver was pulling up our driveway and said he saw my dog run to the side of the truck and he thought my dog had run on around to the back, so he sped up. My dog was still at the side of the truck and his head was crushed by the rear wheel tire a...

UPS missing package

I ordered a power cord for my laptop from DiscountElectronics.com. An attempted delivery was made to my home address, and I changed the delivery address to my work address.
The package was delivered, but UPS did not change the address and the person who signed for the package returned it, since it was thought that it had been delivered incorrectly. UPS did not change the address, or give any indication that there was a change to the delivery address.
Now the package has disappeared, they do not know where it is or are not willing to investigate any further.
I'm without the package that I paid for and they are expecting me to try and track it down.
Pam at UPS was not very helpful, she can be contacted on [protected].

UPS delivered to wrong address

I own a small computer store in which I build, sell and repair computers. I orderd some LED lights
and an LED light headset from a company in Nevada. The assured me that they would ship the
items the same day and we calculated that using UPS ground, the shipment would arrive by
Friday May 9th even with delays. According to UPS tracking, the shipment was due to be
delivered on Friday May 9th and it was sent in two boxes, both to be deliverd on the same day.
Some of the parts were for a custom built gaming computer that a customer ordered for his
son's birthday on Sunday May 11th. It is a $2100.00 computer. I received the box from UPS
with the LED light headset but not the box with the important parts for the computer.
According to the tracking number, my box was delivered somewhere else and signed for
by someone named Mary. We don't have a Mary working here. I called UPS and they told
me that I had to contact the business that I originally ordered the parts from to initiate an
investigation. I did and they said they would contact UPS which they did because UPS called
later that day. You would think that they would make the driver go out and try to find my
shipment but I guess not. Here it is Saturday, the customer was nice about the computer
but canceled the order because it won't be finished by Sunday so I lost a $21oo.oo sale. Does
UPS care? I think not. I want to thank the idiots of UPS for my lost sale and a computer that
will sit in my store for who knows how long because gaming computers are a niche market.
I'm going to look into taking UPS to small claims court to try and recoup some of the lost
sale. The customer told me that if I get a court date that he can work around he will
appear with me. Pretty nice, huh? Even though he has to scramble to get his son something
else for Sunday.

i had a similar experience. my package was an important gift for one of the kids. UPS insisted it had been delivered and signed for and that there was nothing they could do. nearly a week later, my neighbor from across the street and a couple houses down brought over a package he said had been sitting on his dining room table for the past week! Actually though i was angrier at the neighbor for not bringing it over sooner...But that being said, i have never had a problem with Fedex. its just that with a lot of places online, they only offer UPS. i also notice when i send things, there are a lot more UPS points than other methods.

UPS item stolen

I recently ordered a piece of jewelry which was sent to me via UPS. The package arrived on time. When I opened it, all the paperwork was in there, but there wasn't any jewelry. An inspection of the package revealed that the postage had been ripped off of the original package and taped onto the package I received. I called the shipper who confirmed my suspicions; the original package was sent in one of those stretchy plastic white envelopes and the package I received was in a document envelope. My package had been opened, the jewelry stolen, and the rest of the contents re-packaged. A claim was filed with UPS. I would like to say that this was a rare instance, but when the UPS guy came to pick up the package as part of their internal investigation he said that this was "typical UPS ###". I won't ship with UPS anymore.

UPS arrogant and unprofessional #

I am sick of hanging around all morning, waiting for a delivery, and then the guy comes and doesn't knock loud, as i've repeatedly requested, and never ever ever frickin' waits for me to answer!

I don't hear 100% and I am also physically disabled. I have repeatedly posted notices asking these jerks to knock loud and wait a decent length of time for me to answer — they never do. How is it, I can hear everyone else knock on everyone else's door — include the neighbour's door, and I can hear strangers knocking on my door, looking for someone... But never the stinking ups guy?

And there is no contact person available at ups. I am going to have to go to my disability advocate, and see if I can take legal action against ups. I'm fed up.

Do not use ups if you are disabled! They are arrogant unprofessional #.

The post office is a monopoly and they know it. Once they start getting laid off because of bad business practices, maybe they will learn.

People fail to realize, we get laid off because business is bad. That bad business is because of us, the people that worked there. Don't look at the economy or management; look at the individual actions that force customers away.

Most unsatisfied customers never complain, they just don't come back.

UPS worst delivery service in the world

UPS is the worst carrier in America! The level of incompetence at every turn--from the deliverers to customer service--is so great that it is a miracle that UPS continues to function as a company! In the past year, only one of ten packages has arrived at my house on schedule! One overnight package was "lost" and arrived two weeks late! Its too bad that so many companies choose to ship via UPS. This company needs to fail! May its stock plummet!

It is a shame that the BBB or other watch groups can not step in and start imposing monetary fines against UPS! The wallet is where you hit these ###s! I would love to see them all unemployed! America is growing weeker by the day, there is no pride in works any more. UPS is just one of many american companies that have gone to @#%$^ in a hand bag! I am very saddened to be growing older with ###s in charge...

UPS shipping damage

A very expensive amplifier was damaged in transit by UPS and they just don't care. The package was insured for $3, 000 and was left in the rain uncovered. It does not matter if the item is insured, they have failed to make contact to arrange the required inspection and refuse to issue a claim number. It has been two weeks now and nothing has happen. They offer no local phone number to contact the people who investigate claims. I suppose this will end up in court, the insurance is worthless if they won't even acknoledge the claim. Do not ship anything of value by UPS because they just don't care about you or your merchandise.

I'm continually getting damaged shipments from UPS. Today being one of them. I ordered canned fruit and it arrived as a ripped up box and damaged cans that leaked all over everything else that I ordered. I can't return it to the company that I bought it from but I get it replaced. I'm getting tired of filing damaged claims with the company that I purchase products. I personally will never use UPS to ship anything.

I shipped a flat screen TV through the Ups packaging store and when received it was damaged. A UPS rep came out the investigate the damage and reported it back to UPS. The TV was insured and Packaged by them. They responded that they were not responsible because it was not packaged properly. I responded back and told them they packaged it and i was told they were not responsible because the UPS store is a support entity to them and I must refer my complaint to them I forward this information to the BBB and they said no one would respond to their inquiry. Paying for insurance for your protection is a SCAM and someone need to do something about this. THERE are too many complaints and nothing is being done.

Yes, here's another UPS complaint. I just received a computer, bought on line and shipped from Tennessee. The original shipper verifies that the box was in pristine condition. When I received the computer, it wouldn't boot up to Windows. After some lengthy work on my part, I discovered that the hard drive was damaged, which happens when rough handling occurs. How can that be proven to be the fault of UPS? Well, for starters, the box had a two -in gouge on one side, that went all the way through, and a 1 inch gouge on the other side. This was the original Compaq shipping box. How can that kind of damage occur to a 10 lb box? Thankfully, but with a lot of wait time, Compaq has cheerfully honored the warranty, and I"m getting the replacement parts, but I still don't have a working computer until I install the recovery discs, then I have to hope everything recovers. The same driver apparently delivered the box with the hard drive, but he rang the doorbell and then left without getting a signature from me. He knew what he was delivering and probably was not prepared for a confrontation from me, which I was quite prepared to do. I will NEVER knowingly use UPS again. See picture(s)

The same thing happened to me when I shipped some dishes that I had sold on Craigslist. I purposely used USPS (from a UPS store) to make sure that they were handlec with the utmost care; in fact, I paid an additional $30. in shipping costs to do this... I packed them with more bubble wrap than was really needed and insured each box. The dishes in two of the boxes were broken and when I filed a claim to compensate the buyer, they gave me a runaround and then declined my claim with no explanation.

While I don't necessarily have control of what shipper is used when I purchase something being mailed to me, I do have control of who I personally use and I will not be using UPS in the future.

UPS lost package and ups claims they never got it

Sent a package via UPS back to Sony using a sony box and prepaid label. UPS has no record of the package being scanned into their system and refuse responsibility. The package was picked up in a UPS pickup box at my place of business by the local UPS driver where pick-ups are done daily. UPS would not give me the time or day. their response was it was not scanned so they are not responsible. Beware! No sympathy, nothing. Of coarse Sony will not give me the time nor day either, stating its UPS's issue. When I call UPS to initiate a complaint they point me back to SONY since they are the ones that printed the label, and of coarse Sony says they have no involvement since they have not received the package, call UPS. I have been going through this back and forth game for nearly 2 months now. The package got lost somewhere between the driver and the UPS warehouse yet it's my issue because it was not scanned.

UPS delivery problem

I ordered two living room chairs, which were scheduled for delivery to my residence via UPS. On 3/10/09, the initial attempt for delivery was made; however, no one was at the residence at the time. After the initial attempt, no further attempts were made, so I called the 800 UPS number to check the status of the order on 3/18/09. I was advised the order had been placed on hold for pickup at the local center. I vehemently denied making this request as the chairs are large and I have no means of adequately transporting the chairs; thus the need for delivery to the residence. The representative advised she would send a request to the local office because the order was scheduled for returned to shipper. As advised by the representative I spoke with on the 800 number, someone from the local office called me and advised there was some kind of mix-up with the address and the order had been inadvertently been placed on hold. The local representative offered to put it out for delivery to my residence for 3/19/09; however, I was not certain anyone would be available at the residence on that date, so I requested delivery for 3/23/09. The representative then advised she would put the order in for delivery on 3/20/09 and, if delivery was not possible on the 20th, another attempt would be made on 3/23/09. Indeed a second attempt was made on 3/20/09, but, again, no one was at the residence. To ensure the third attempt would not be missed, I personally stayed at the residence ALL morning. I made arrangements to have someone relieve me when the packages had not arrived by noon as I had already called in to my job and advised I would arrive later that afternoon. When I returned to the residence around 6 PM, I called the 800 number because the packages still had not been delivered. The representative apologized for the inconvenience and advised your service delivered until 7 or 7:30 PM. NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE – NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP ON 3/23/09! After arriving home on 3/24/09, there was a notice advising the third attempt had been made. I promptly called the 800 number, explained how the packages should have been delivered on 3/23/09 and how the website indicated “out for delivery” on 3/23/09, but was never attempted. The representative apologized profusely and offered to provide a future delivery due to the inconvenience I endured from 3/23/09. I was advised the delivery could be made for any date up to 10 business days from 3/24/09. I arranged to have the delivery made on 4/3/09. I checked the website and felt assured my request was scheduled because at 3:33 PM on 3/24/09, the website was updated to reflect “a delivery change request for this package will be processed/the package is being held for future delivery. UPS will attempt delivery on the date requested.” On 4/2/09, I called to confirm the delivery and learned the packages had been returned to the shipper on 3/26/09.

I have attempted to resolve this situation on the local level; however, I have been advised that the local manager will not approve the shipping refund because the order was placed on hold. As I indicated previously, I DID NOT request a hold. I specifically needed delivery to the residence due to the size and weight of the order. I would appreciate any assistance possible as I paid over $150.00 for shipping and, had the delivery attempt been made on 3/23/09, none of this would have been an issue. This is NOT my error and I refuse to endure the financial loss due to UPS negligence.

NAO, obviously you did not completely ready the compliant as it CLEARLY indicates the problem occured because the company "inadvertently" placed the order on hold - when the customer did NOT want that at all. Did it ever occur to you that, if the company had bothered to deliver around 3/11/09 or 3/12/09, someone may have been available? Maybe you need to gather your facts before commenting on something you obviously know little next to NOTHING about!

They made 3 delivery attempts at your home, two of them before you decided to actually stay home to accept the delivery.
Maybe you shouldn't be ordering things for delivery if you do not plan on being home to receive them.
