SimpleFloors Customer service/ poor product knowledge

This company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. After the company made the wrong recommendation for underlayment for our radiant heat flooring, we lost significant heat in our home and contacted simplefloors.com by both telephone and email for two months numerous times before we were finally able to speak with someone. Not even 1call back or email from customer service within a two month time frame- we even asked the sales rep who sold us the floors if the was a bogus number/email address. Then of course we got the run around. We had emails proving that when we purchased the flooring the sales rep told us to buy foil backed underlayment for our radiant heat flooring which we went with to ensure the warranty was valid. The sales rep told us both by phone and email to purchase this underlayment as that was the company recommendation for this flooring type. We were forced to purchase on our own as they were sold out. After having significantly higher heating bills since install and speaking with several reputable builders in the area (including multimillion dollar luxery home builders), the consensus is the same... The high r-value of the foil recommended is blocking our heat. However, the company will not take ownership of this mistake. If you want horrible customer service, no return phone calls, and a sales staff that has no knowledge of the flooring industry then this is the way to go!

SimpleFloors Product Failure

This floor is absolute junk. I ordered 3k worth 2 yrs ago and it is coming unlocked in every room. Watch out for the 25% restocking fee they put on you. Customer service is awful. They take your money then don't answer you phone calls. Beware, Beware!
You will be sorry if you buy this floor. Buy local, so you can take it back if you don't like it! AWFUL locking system...

SimpleFloors Sample did not reflect Pattern

Purchased Warm Nutmeg wooden laminate flooring from SimpleFloors based upon a sample they provided us with. The actual product when laid had a recurring pattern with four white stripes in it that was not noticeable on the sample we had been provided. The majority of the recurring pattern is a beautiful brown with black markings. The actual product has the four white stripes ( best described as if someone had placed their four fingers on a stained floor and then lifted up your hand revealing four whitish marks). Based upon the cuts and selection of laminate boards from the box, it is possible for the four white stripes to be laid in a pattern where they can become grouped in a noticeable concentration that is very unappealing. Manufacturer and Simple Floors were of no assistance in rectifying this problem. We are stuck with a floor that we do not like and would not have picked if the sample had properly represented the actual pattern from the box. Word of Warning: Do not pick a laminate flooring from a sample. See what the actual flooring looks like in a room setting. Based on their lack of resolution to this problem, I would not recommend that anyone do business with SimpleFloors. Buyer Beware. I tried to post my complaint on their website and of course it has never appeared. I guess they only allow the positive ones to get posted.

SimpleFloors poor quality, bad customer service, deceptive business practice

purchased over $2k handscraped. a lot of bowing warping they will blame all the problems to you. the more you open your box the less chance of you recovering a big chunk of your money. was told of 20% restocking fee which is a news to me. owner told me i am the only one who have problems with their product, what a a big joke. run run run highway robbery.

SimpleFloors Buyer Beware

I purcashed an engineered floor in May 2010 and by October 2010 the finish was coming off anf the supposed knots in the wood were nothing more that some putty/plastic material that came up off the floor. Now I have a toom full of holes and pits. I contacted Simplefloors and they have given me the tun around everytime. They keep changing their policy although they supposedly are backed by a 25 year warranty byt CFS corporation who by the way happens to have an ownership stake in Simplefloors. They offered to send me replacement pieces but when I asked who was going to pay for the cost of ripping up the floor, they told me it wasn't covered. One of the reason I bough this flooring as they were supposedly shoen as a provider of Extreme makeover. I think that is a lie too. Buyer beware. Not worth your time or money.

SimpleFloors terrilbe service

I bought hardwood floor from Simple Floors and used their installer because they promised me they have qualified installation crew. However, they sent someone without license only delayed the completion of installation but also messed up my home. Their installation crew installed the wrong wood material for the stair noses, and then they painted over the stair noses to try and disguise the mismatched materials. They improperly re-installed our bathroom sink pedestal after completing the bathroom floor. They also damaged the bathroom wall while trying to fix the sink leaks they caused. They did not caulk around the toilet base when they reinstalled it after the bathroom floor was completed. The toilet has also had some flushing problems since they re-installed it. They did not properly re-install the wood floor baseboard. It was broken in places, it stuck out in another place, and there was a missing piece in one area. Your installation crew charged us an additional $ 650 to correct these mistakes.
They ignored my complain and billed my credit before the completing the wood floor installation at my house.
This is the worst service I have ever had. Don't ever work with company.

SimpleFloors Issues Resolved/July, 2010 Bamboo Floor Installation

Our issues regarding our bamboo floor have been resolved by Simple Floors customer management team. We are happy with the outcome and believe that any company does mistakes. To echo the other complaints, I had the same experience. The defective flooring was only "surpassed" by horrific customer service. Bottom line: If you have any problem whatsoever, you will be screwed over by this terrible company.

SimpleFloors Horrible company, money theft

horrible company. I bought 1000sqt of the Brazilian Teak and it turned out to be a horrible mistake.Every box has multiple different sizes and it's impossible to install. They told me to open it out so it can "absorb moisture" but it's just their trick. When I try to return it, they said the open boxes are not returnable. There are 25% restocking fee and only 15 days for return of unopened boxes.This company has only one sale person/boss. They have a small warehouse. Do not buy anything from them. If you plan to sue them, I'll be very interested to help you. forest48 at yahoo dot com

Take a look at all of Stephanies responses, they are all the same, she always wants to discuss your issue but never does. This company is a joke, they make a good product, but the customer service is the worst i have ever experienced. You are treated with more respect and customer service at mcdonalds when buying a .99 cheeseburger. BUYER BEWARE, read all of the posts. Dare you to find a good one.

SimpleFloors Poor quality, no refund!

Simplefloor.com - buyer BEWARE!

I purchased bamboo floor from this company. They advertise it 25yr finish warranty but when real floor arrived, I checked it to find it's veeeeery easy to get scratched. I returned ALL BY MY COST. But get no any refund by now. Total is more than $5000 and it has been more than 2 months.

No return emails or phones. Dishonest online place.

Wow! I had a superb experience with Simplefloors.

I ordered 1400 sf of the engineered Brazilian Teak handscrapped flooring to put over my new build radiant heat subfloor last year 2009 and had it sent to Fairbanks, Alaska.
It arrived a week ahead of time and the subcontractor said it was the nicest flooring he has seen in a long time and was very easy to install. I ordered the sample to see what it looked like and checked the quality and it exceeded my expectations. It's has a commercial rated sealer and we're very hard on floors here and the finish remains beautiful and so easy to clean.

I've recommend to all my friends. Even w/shipping, it added a dollar/sf for a total cost of $4.50 sf. comparable flooring here is $20.00 sf. I'm including a close up photo of the floor in the kitchen.

They treat their employees that same way...you work, work, work and then when you don't sell enough, they fire you and do not pay you for what you did sell. They are very dishonest and do not want to give money back to their customers even when they are in the wrong...How sorry is that.
It is disgusting that the only way you can make money is by screwing not only your customers but your employees. Not only would I not buy flooring from them, I would not sale for them. You have to lie in order to sell the product.

We went with the Steinway Cherry Artisan Laminate Flooring because it appeared to be beautiful and durable. How wrong we were! We have used laminate flooring in the past and it was a well-known, slightly more expensive brand. We should have stuck with what we knew and trusted but we wanted to save some money.

Nearly all of our flooring is defective. We purchased 1, 200 square feet of this product. When you install, the sides of the planks chip off showing the green underlayment. The topcoat chips off easily and forget the durability if you drop ANYTHING on it. In addition, it is not glueless. If you do not glue each strip together at the top, they pull apart within 24 hours, leaving wide gaps between planks. We discovered this after we installed a room full of it!

After these issues, I contacted Simple Floors because the product is supposed to have an AC3 wear rating and should not damage like this. I offered to drive back the defective planks and the unused product. According to their sales department, I have to PAY for one of THEIR inspectors to come verify that it is defective and the cost was $400! You tell me how neutral that inspector would have been.

We are now in the process of pulling up ALL of the flooring we have installed as it is useless. We have approximately 30 boxes of unopened product that we will be trashing because simpleFloors doesn't trust their own product enough to return it.

Bottom line---DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! These people are scam artists with a horrible product.

These folks ship fast, decent quality for your money, no surprises when the flooring arrives. The shippers are excellent no broken boxes etc.When I realized I fell short, they shot out the rest of what I needed within a day. If youve paid by credit card dispute the charge if you have a problem. When I call them they are very kind and I bought some beautiful flooring for half price of Home Depot and Lowes, I dont know what planet you folks live on but Im well satisfied. The only correction I would make is that most engineered products are made in China, always buy extra because you know a year down the road it will be discontinued.

I totally agree. Try avoiding Simplefloor.com by all means. I ordered bamboo from them and they said it'll arrive in 2 months. After a month or so, I happened to drop by their office to check on the order. They told me they no longer carry that particular product and suggested me to go with a cheaper kind. They didn't even bother to notify me at all and they don't really take care of their customer. What if I didn't stop by to check? I wouldn't find out until after 2 months! I was there the whole time while the sales rep was instant messaging with some friends over skype. How rude! On top of that, I also been doing some research for bamboo flooring and found that their bamboo is very soft and easily dented and scratched. I am comparing this with the ones carried by Homedepot and Lowes. Hence, try avoiding SimpleFloors.com.

Same problem as mine...

I bought laminate floor back in September of 2006. The quality is poor and could not be clicked together at all. I returned them but no any refund returned. I've been trying to make numerous phone calls without result...
