Shell / gasoline

At approximately 12:00am on March 19th, I went to get gas from the Shell at 895 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, NY and within three blocks of putting its gas into my tank, the car failed and broke down. My tank was empty upon arrival and the car had consistently been driving perfectly fine, so the source of the contaminated fuel is clear. The estimate for repair is $1, 500 and the problem, as the dealership said, is contaminated fuel. I did absolutely nothing wrong and think it is obvious that the gas station should be financially responsible for selling defective, damaging gas.
