Public Storage venice beach location - stay away!

If I could I would not put any stars at all. From day one MAJOR red flags. Broken entry and exit gates, irregular hours, terrible customer service (lack of) on site, broken elevators, homeless individuals living in hallways etc, I don't feel safe going alone. Yesterday my son went to pick up his bed out of my storage, both elevators (the only access to the 3rd floor besides stairs) were broken (I was told this has been the case for over a week!). The guy in office already had a post-it note ready with district manager's phone number (who by the way doesn't answer his phone ever, or return calls). Please take the time to read all of the negative reviews already posted, I only wish I had done this. Literally everything you read I have seen or personally experienced. I can't impress on you how important it is that you find another storage property. I called a number of folks at corporate and spoke to on site and customer service seeking a reasonable response to the issue of BROKEN ELEVATORS at a STORAGE FACILITY (no brainer) before resorting to yelp and social media - they showed zero concern or explanation. Trust me, PUBLIC STORAGE does NOT care one bit about their customers.

Public Storage auctioned off storage unit

Rented storage in June or July as of November 2018. I sent payment for December rental when it wasn't post on checking account I call Public Storage that'swhen I was told Unit has been auctioned off. While still accepted payment for December. I filed a police report. Police spoke with Leslie at the storage comoany he indicated check for November rent was NCF . I was told a email was sent I don't think that the proper way for a Company to inform everyone.

Public Storage huge price increase after 3 months!

I rented a 10x15 unit, and told them I wanted it for 2years. They knew I was going to be out of state. On the 3rd month, they increased my monthly rate by $45.00 higher. This is so wrong! I've rented from them several other times over the years, and this has never happened. I just looked on line, and a 10x 15 storage is being offered for $174.00, and it says the regular price is $208.00!
Why did they increase me to $245.00 for the same unit!

Public Storage storage

I called in with questions concerning removing my insurance due to me only having 3 small boxes left in the storage unit. On last friday, the rep that I spoke with forgot to take the telephone off speaker after thinking that she ended my call. Your 2 reps working that day could be heard for 10 min speaking about myself the customer stating that "dang she cant afford $13 for insurance" the other rep replying "right" what's up with that lady. As I sat on the phone your store reps continued to talk about me as if they new my situation. Not only that you had a yard care person that came in at the same time and once again when the guy left your reps can be heard talking about how hell would freeze over if she went outside to open the gate for him to examine the property to offer his services to your company. As a military family I have rented several storages over the 20 years my husband has served and by far this is the worst customer service. Your reps were rude and when I phoned tracy the manager on today 1/7/2019, to make her aware she seemed to not care about the issue. I will be informing others about this location.

Public Storage bait &, switch, rate increases not following thru with promises.

Renters Beware
I recently moved to the Portland area (May - 2018)
I got online to find a storage unit for my belongings. I was in luck Public storage @ 2190 NW Burnside Gresham Oregon [protected] had a 10'x20' Unit available for $83.00 a month. I called the Manager and she told me the Unit was available, when she asked how long I need the unit I advised her long-term she said she could only guarantee the $83.00 (Advertised online) was available for 12 Months we agreed on this.
When we arrived my friends and family started unloading my unit I went to sign the papers and get the keys. I noticed the lot and Restroom was dirty and cluttered.
When we were completing the paperwork the manager said the computer wouldn't allow her to complete the paperwork for the advertised price. She said it wanted to charge me 133.00 month I showed her on the web page and she agreed but said she would have to get it cleared thru the district manager. She assured me the web price was right and he would honor this price. 2 days later the manager called me and said the district manager wound not honor the advertised price. She said he stated it was a "Old Promotion" that they failed to remove. And I have only be in the unit almost 6 Months, now I'm told the price is going up to $160.00 with only 10 days' notice.
BTW I've attempted to speak with the district manager 3x the answering service says he's not available and wont put me thru to his extension…. Isn't that great customer service…? Right?
This is unethical. My attorney is looking into liability.
I call this Bait & Switch!
Then when I was talking to the manager I told her I wanted to store my Harley Davidson in the unit for the winter, and I would need to plug in my trickle charger in she agreed.

When I took my Harley there, there was NO Electric not even lights (She said they made her turn the power off to the units) I advised her that we agreed on the use of power she said yes, but they do this stuff to customers once they get them in and under contract.
I don't even have access to over head lights to see to go thru my stuff. This is an unethical practice I believe. My attorney is looking into this as you read this.
I'm saying Renters beware!
More to follow - BTW If the storage unit removes this it will be reposted daily and when we decide to file on this, it will be updated

Public Storage complaining about bad business with public storage on reims road and charlotte north carolina

It is a very sad day when I have a bad injury at one of the locations in Charlotte North Carolina the first Saturday in December and I have not received a phone call as I have requested multiple times from the district or Superior. I'm contacted constantly of them wanting to auction off my goods on the 27th but I need to have a conversation because I was treated unjustly and I'm fairly no one has checked on me regarding my injuries and I deserve better I've been a customer for a long time with the location here in Charlotte North Carolina and I deserve a phone call before I go public with this information [protected] my name is Torri Massey.

Public Storage jones ferry road carrboro location

To Whom It May Concern,

I hope this message finds you exceptionally well. Moreover, I've been advised to contact you regarding a booking error/discrepancy made by the Public Storage representative that initiated my reservation. She explicitly quoted and confirmed that if I initiate the contract on December 4, 2018 that I would be good through January 4, 2019 to qualify for the $1 promotion for the first month of service without incurring the full monthly fee ($202.40) effective January 5, 2019. However, I'm kindly requesting that the 12/4/28-1/4/19 $1 monthly promotion please be honored in light of her error.

Lastly, I'd like to report that the main entry gate has been inoperable since my occupancy, constituting myself and other patrons to use the exit gate for entry which is a potential hazard to vehicles should the exit gate close upon entry. Casen point it's an automotive claim/disaster waiting to unfold. Please expedite/repair and rectify the matter. In addition, I'd like to kindly request an inconvenience credit/concession in lieu of the aforementioned issues. I will also be vacating the storage unit prior to the billing if the second month next week. Approximately January 2nd or 3rd, yet I'd like to receive the courtesy of being granted until January 4, 2019 given that it had been quoted to be by the booking reservationist in error.

Public Storage front desk

My unit along with 9 other units were broken into and we got a call on 12/10/2018. I arrived at 3:10 p.m. and made a police report and waited for CSI to finish dusting for prints. when CSI was finished at 6:15 p.m. I noticed door handle had been broken off and even if I were to put my lock on it my unt still would not lock. The manager and emloyee had left befoe the cops and CSI were finished because their "Shift" was over. I was not able to get another lock from the front desk to secure my lock. I called this morning 12/11/18 9:53 a.m. and spoke with Diana to have them put another lock on my unit. she said she is not aware of what happened but can have management call me back because management was on the property but no at the front desk at the moment. I called agin at 10:54 a.m., 11:04 a.m., and 11:11 a.m leaving a message explaining I needed to speak with management. Diana called me at 11:17 a.m. stating ther was someone there to fix the doors and she needed me to go to the storage and remove my lock. I said I cant at the moment as I am at work and if they can just add another lock on my unit until I am able to go at 4:00 p.m. after work. she said ' i dont know if he can fix your door while the lock is on there" i said, ' i am not telling you to fix it i am telling you t just add another lock on it until I am able to go after work and remove my lock. what are you not understanding?" as I was trying to explain to her what she should do she was talking while I was talking and being rude and repeating to me what she said when I told her "im not telling you o fix it" hse said "ok ma'am I will write that down in your file" I said "just add another lock so I know its locked until I can go after work!" " let me speak with your manager" she cut me off when I said that and said "have a nice day" and hung up. It is stressful enough to have to go through this whole situation of being burglarized and violated. I dont need the damn staff to be rude and act as if they know what they are doing and not give a crap about the situation. This lady said it her self she doesnt know what happened so why is she even talking to me? I cant even get a hold of the damn manager! I have my police report and I will be pressing charges for whoever is responsible and Public Storage will have a lawsuit on their hands because I pay money to rent a place I am hoping is safe. Yet 10 units get broken into and no one hears a thing. Does the manager not live on-site? what they did to those doors and locks was not quiet. My lock was not broken my door was! I a one pissed off customer at what happened bu more at the damn disrespectful staff Public Storage hires to represent them. Diana should definitely not be working there.

Public Storage dishonest district manager sylvia chrzanowski

We had a horrible experience at the public storage on e. Boughton road bolingbrook location and would recommend everyone avoid it to protect their property and for the incredibly poor customer service. The doors are thin. The thieves can easily break the cheap doors. They don't lock up the buildings at night and leave main storage units open all the time where the crooks could jump the fences at night to enter the open buildings.
Inside storage unit, smell like urine and mod...
There are no cameras inside the storage units.
At beginning, they try rip you off to make you buy their lock... And insurance etc... Front desk man name craig always ask you provide the best google review... I now know why and glad not to provide five stars review for a very reason... This place does not deserve one stars! Period!
They increase the rent without letting you know... Instead blame on us because apparently they "sent email a while ago"...? When I called district manage sylvia chrzanowski.. She replied and left voicemail indicate she will issue refund for us and will call in a few days... Instead ask craig to call and left message saying no refund? What a lie from district manager who represent this company!
Two days before moving out this crappy place, met craig.. Told him I will file a formal complaint to bbb.. He said "what if we refund you and hope you don't complaint.. We are just the small business.."

We are sick and tired of their dishonest!
For those of you in same situation, raise hell and complain to bbb, yelp, state dept of consumer affairs. These guys are crooks!

I had my car in storage at the Bolingbrook location across the street from Menard's on Rt. 53. At first, they offered me a deal whereby the first month was free and, for a few months, life was good. But then, like all CHEATS, they realized that they "had" me abd started raising my monthly rates. I complained to the front desk folks who works there and was told that the local head lady, Sylvia Chrzanowski, was behind all the increases. She gave the OK to raise the monthly rates I paid. With a car in storage, she had me over a barrel because it wasn't easy to snap you fingers & move it to another unit. When I checked with the front desk staff, I found out that it would be less expensive to cancel my contract & move to another unit. Not practical for me. Yes, I had to buy "their" lock. Being a Senior & getting screwed by these guys, I asked for some type of discount, since I wasn't made of $$$$. I reached out to Sylvia 6 times asking for some sort of discount - all never answered. So, I reached pout to her Boss - he took his sweet time responding after I showed him all of my E-mails to this self-centered beauty queen. I was told excuse after excuse but he lowered my monthly rate a few pennies so I pulled my car out of there & said goodbye. The front desk people are awesome; Sylvia Chrzanowski & her Boss & the Storage Company are all crooks. Stay away from this Storage Unit. But, do take a few seconds and look up Sylvia's facebook page to see how absolutely beautiful she thinks she is. Ha Ha!

Public Storage rent increase

Public Storage had a sale around last June, 2018. The rate was half price at $147.00 per month. I asked the manager if this was a promotion for a limited time and she said NO. She told me that the $147/mo would be my rate for as long as I continued to rent.

After a few months I get a letter from Public Storage that they are raising my rent over 27%, $40.00, due to increased expenses. I called the new manager and she told me that the rent increase was covered in the "fine print" of the lease agreement.

Two things wrong here. First, the original manager lied to me about the duration of my payments. In addition a 27% increase due to "increased expenses" is an outrageous amount of increase. Surely, increased expenses couldn't amount to over 5% in six months.

This is clearly a "bait and switch" operation.

Public Storage public storage at 3700 nw 29th ave

Every time I come to this storage place to pay my storage bill the guy isn't in the office. I'll be standing outside waiting for someone to come for almost 15 mins. This just happened and the guy came back after almost 20 mins of me standing outside in the sun. I asked him how can I contact the manager because this happens every time. He say he's the manager and there is no one I can talk to over him. I looked at his name tag and his name is Albert. I need someone that's over him that I can talk to.

Public Storage theft and staff threats

I need someone to call me about a theft and ongoing abusive situation I am experiencing from the property mger and staff. My confidential phone number is [protected]... Not to be shared.
I am being verbally abuse / discriminated against & unauthorized money taken out of my bank acct.
I will not have my property stolen from me. I ha e been in your facility less than a month.
Your staff is awful & threatening. I have asked for the district manager to call me almost a month. Her name is thelma mitchell. She refuses to call me and address my issues.
The staff has caused me great emotional and financial hardship that lead to me moving myself afternoon my workers due to ms. Mitchell's refusal to call me back to return my money back to me on demand.
I will not be put under anymore fear, intimidation or threats. You know you have the worse customer service. Read your reviews.
I will take this matter to court before I am discriminated against again and viciously mistreated by your staff.
This is my last attempted to request you pay attention and investigate my complaint.
I have called your corporate number, I have emailed ms. Mitchell and I have called your corporate office repeatedly. There is no way that I should have to be discriminated against & be abused by your staff to use what you advertise is available to the public.
You staff violated my u.S. Constitutional rights to be safe in my persons & property. Your staff stole my money and went into my account twice in one day.
You have used up your 24 to 48 hours to contact me. I have been waiting from the 1st moment I signed the contract. Your staff violated the contract. I demand justice and that your staff stop their illegal verbal abuse & threats.
Call by 10/25/2018 before 4:00 pm central time... Or on 10/26/18 thereafter I hire me an attorney.

Public Storage non compliance

I wanted to pick up my backpack that was left at the storage on northeast Sandy boulevard and 16th In Portland Oregon and person at the Customer service desk was very rude and refused to help me retrieve it. If you hoped to get my business at some point in the future that is not a way to do so. My request wasn't that elaborate. When finally got the code from my friend I helped move in He followed me around like I was a criminal And he could have just Just made thing simple and got what I needed.

Public Storage property manager discrimination

On October 17, 2018 @ 851 Knights Rd, Hollywood, FL 33021, property store manager Shay accused me of putting a bed frame on the wall because I previously on Monday placed a bed on the wall. When she called me to remove the bed because she saw me on the camera put it there, I came the next day and removed it. When I was leaving my unit there was another guy walking up stairs. She said I couldn't have been the other person because the guy only places small boxes into his unit. It could have been him. When she first spoke to me she said that she only saw my car parked there but when I stated that it was another car parked behind me she was shocked. She also accused me of put another bed on the same wall months back. I've only heard of this today. We got into a heated argument after I spoke to the property owner. She came from behind her desk and was going to fight me while I had my baby in my hand. She told me to give the baby to her colleague so that we could fight. She then called back her manager and told him that she's not going to sit behind her desk and stand for what's going on. She then told me to come back after 6 p.m. so that we can fight. Shay accuse me of putting a bed frame under the stairwell when I was only in my unit for no more than 20 minutes and there was no camera evidence that I put it there but just because the other guy didn't fit the profile it had to have been me. Such disrespect and unprofessionalism should not be acceptable. I have never encountered that in the two years I've had my unit from any employee there. She needs to be fired.

I got a call from the LA storage site on Grand, threatening to send my account to collection agency.
I'm completely baffled. We moved out on Aug 18. I contacted you on Aug 25 to confirm all was closed and I didn't owe you anything further. Now I was told you system said someone used the gate code and hence charging me. We never went back after the 19th.

Could you please investigate this issue and get my account cleared. This is very concerning that it should happen like this. I was also told to contact

Public Storage storage rental.

I live in Charlotte, NC. I rented a storage from public storage from East W T Harris. I payed my bill by phone. Rented the space for all my and my childrens belongings that I had left in the world, on July 27th 2018. I became very sick and had to stay in the hospital for a month. I paid $270 on September 19, 2018 via phone from my checking account. After being released under doctors orders, I discovered the money was never taken out of my account. I called the public storages left messages. I was never called back. I finally spoke with someone at this location. She assured me my payment went thru and my storage was fine. 2 days later I was notified via phone that my storage was sold. The more questions I asked the angrier the employee got. I do not know what to do. Honestly there was no communication that my storage was up for auction at all.

I rented a storage unit from public storage paid my bill September 19, 2018. I was never notified that the payment didn't go thru. Long story short I called left messages finally spoke with someone who assured me my payment went thru. Then 2 days later was left a voicemail stating my storage unit was sold.. is this accurate.

Yes the same happen to us we live in the DC area. Public Storage sets their own rules and it hard to get help or good customer service. It’s the worst storage ever. People are left in the cold without nothing. I paid half my balance on Oct 1, and they auction my things on Oct 4, 2018. My balance was $230 and my things was over 15, 000. I was over 60 days late but they took a payment and didn’t tell us that the things were going up for auction. I only want my pictures, certificates and passport but can not in touch with the district manager. My storage unit was on Central Ave in District a Heights Maryland.

Public Storage I was kicked out my own storage I pay rent for!

Was kicked out before 9pm and Threatened by a family that stays there! I rent a storage here and always pay my bill on time and have a right to use the storage I rented as long as I'm out by 9pm! VERY GHETTO AFRICAN AMERICANS LIVE ON THE PREMISES! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL & I SHOULD RECIEVE A REFUND! I WILL BE LEAVING AFTER THIS MONTH! I'VE BEEN PAYING FOR A SERVICE THAT I CANT USE!

Public Storage service

I recently rented a storage unit with public storage. I have already contacted the better business bureau with this matter. I rented a storage unit with public storage the price they gave me was wrong. I called they said there was nothing they could do about it. I'm currently homeless and just had a newborn baby and told them I couldn't afford the price they gave me which was wrong in the first place.I tried to make partial payments and they wouldn't accept it. I tried to at least get me and my 4 children's clothes which they wouldn't allow. Now they have sold my unit and I literally have nothing. Something needs to be done regarding this matter. They can't say it's one price then it goes up and I can't afford it and I tell them they can't just up the price when it's suppose to be a set price already. I've talked to property managers and supervisors no one seems to care that you all messed up and now I've lost everything I had left. The people were rude and didn't want to hear me out. I feel something should have been done you cannot give someone a price then change it when you feel like it.

I have a storage unit in Eatontown, NJ I'm in the middle of a divorce, this place came highly recommended to me, I ran into some financial trouble and then I was hospitalized now this girl breanna who is so unprofessional had called me and said my unit contents will be auctioned off on the 18th she was laughing when I asked why they were including October in the amount to be paid off, how can you have a manager that's not willing to go the extra mile and work with someone that needs done help, I asked for the district managers number she told me there isn't one ? What kind of place is this ? What kind of company does this to someone ? I'm so mad and disappointed I'm going to post on yelp and any other review I can get my hands on, I might even go to social media so nobody has to be treated. Like this agsin

Public Storage property manager

She was very unprofessional smells like alcohol an smoke always has slick comments about me an my workers who are working on the property have guys hanging around smoking marijuana i ask serveral times for things for the bathroom never in there I just feel as if u can't do your job to the best of your ability then you shouldn't come to work I just think she needs a little more professional training an work on her people skills
