Meaningful Beauty / scam

United States Review updated:

THEY LIE...A LOT! I called to order the 30 day size of Meaningful Beauty and when it arrived one of the items was missing and the toner container had broke and was leaking out in the box. I called to report this and could never get through. I work too many hours a week to spend the amount of time I was spending on the phone trying to call and complain. In 30 days I ran out, whichwhat I expected. What I did not expect was when the charges kept appearing over and over on my credit card. I tryed to call again and after several more calls, and waiting over 15 to 20 minutes each time, I would hang up. I inally got through yesterday and they said SORRY you are past the 60 day money back guarantee. I explained that They were charging me more than the amount quoted and I was missing product. They told me that after 60 days they will not address ANY problems, including over charges. They ended up charging my credit card 3 TIMES the price of the original product and there were NEVER any additional shipments. My credit card company is looking in to it because Meaningful Beauty refuses to correct the mistake. IT IS A SCAM... IF YOU LOOK AT THIS PRODUCTS COMMENTS ON THE INTERNET YOU WILL FIND SEVERAL NEGATIVES and the product is not even good!!! Go to the drug store and buy your product - they all use the same ingredients!!!

Wow thanks for all the info. on the extremely bad service for this product and SHAME on Cindy Crawford because she had ME sold after seeing her TV commercial, which by the way Valerie Bertinelli also raved about the product. So for all of you that have taken the time to express your opinions about both the poor product as well as the customer service changed my mind and will NOT give them my business. What the heck are CINDY and VALERIE thinking by endorsing this product PLUS poor customer service. They MUST me desperate for money!!! Thanks so much for saving me both money and time on their SCAM.

These people will get your card information and charge you even when you have confirmation of a cancellation in order status! BUYER BEWARE of this company! I would like to see a class-action lawsuit against these types of practices...anyone interested? I've had it with these people!!!

I agree totally!!! I was under the understanding that I would be receiving a 30-day trial intro and got the 90-day plus the price tag that goes with it. When I called the company to tell them this, I got a woman that told me I must not have known how to speak English, that is why I got the full-size product. I was NOT told that that is what they were doing and you know what, they really don't give a care!! They made that obvious with the 2 phone calls I made to the company. Be aware if you are thinking of signing up for this product, it really is NOT any better than the store brands that are out there!!! I really wonder how the two celebrities that are endorsing this product can do it...are they aware of the fraud this company is promoting??? Very unhappy with this product and the company policy!!!

I ordered the Meaningful Beauty Products off a television ad that said the product was a mere $39.99 plus shipping and handling. I received installment charges to my credit card the first being $56.64 plus three more charges. Apparently the fine print was per month not for a three month supply. I returned the second shipment with a tracking number from the US postal service and I am still being charged for products I don't even have. I was forced to dispute and cancel the credit card but still have not received a refund from Meaningful Beauty for an additional $56.64 for products not received. I notified the company to cancel any further deliveries long ago but still got the run around that it takes 4 to 6 weeks to process. Well I am waiting for my refund check. Don't buy this product it is a scam. I also broke out in a rash when I first tried the product and they said money back guarantee. I guess they lied! I should know better then to buy junk off an info commercial. Live and learn the expensive way.

Good luck getting your money back and preventing future charges.

This showed up for my wife and I asked her WTF?

I already told her these are scams since I worked for Murad and they do the same thing.

They pretend to cancel your order, then keep shipping product, then make you ship the product back and claim they never received it and KEEP ON CHARGING!!!

Then when you call they pass you around and the employees say, 'Who wants to be a supervisor? I need a supervisor?'

'Send 'em to me.' "Hello, this is XXX. I understand you're having a problem with your billing and I'd like to apologie, blah, blah, blah."

Customer calms down, thinks they finally have a resolution and the WHAM! MORE CHARGES! YES!

These people are worse than carnies people.

It's a painful lesson that your bank, your government and corporations can't help you and make you responsible for the crimes of others.

BUYER BEWARE! Celebrity faces and 'guarantees' are worthless.

These people have designed a system to hook people and milk them out of their money, swiftly, ruthlessly, and make it your fault.

    Murad, Meaningful Beauty, Proactive etc.

They are all the same scam.

The supposed secret ingredient is just salicylic acid that can be bought full strength in wart remover and diluted with water as a final rinse after using an exfolient.

    It's not rocket science.

I had a terrible experience with Meaningful Beauty, too. The skin on my eyelids became red and irritated pretty quickly and only worsened, even after I quit using the products. My lids literally peeled away like a lizard, and all I could do was promise God that if he fixed my face back to the imperfect but not peeling way it had been before, I'd never complain about my face again. The peeling eventually improved (took about 3 weeks), and I found a "secret" phone number on the net to cancel. I was super sweet to the rep on the phone and ultimately got him to cancel. Beware, and be careful, folks. (Sorry, I no longer have the secret phone number.)

Total rip-off. Cindy Crawford should have her head examined for putting her name to this product.

Do not buy anything from these people! I originally bought a trial kit from them and when I ordered my Custom Kit it apparently upped the price which I was not aware of. Called them to resolve this and was told to return that kit by their customer service rep. What I was not told was that the return would deactivate my account! I had to restart with a trial kit in order to get my custom kit again. This I did, but when my first Custom Kit came I was charged the whole amount and not the monthly payments I had been paying. Called again to the customer service department and spoke with "Rachel" yet again, who was to return the overcharge, instead she reurned the whole amount. Called in and spoke with another Gentleman the next month, when I was not charged my monthly payment. He told me everything was fine with my account and not to worry about the free kit I had received, and that my next shippment was on schedule to go out in July. Went to check my account in July to find out when my shippment was going out, only to find out that my account was yet again deactivated. This was due to the return of monies on my account, which the company made as showing that I returned yet another kit. Of course the only way to activate my account was to start the trial yet again! These people are such rip offs. DON"T BUY FROM THEM!!!

I ordered Meaningful Beauty and loved the product! I was charged for the next 3 months and no product was delivered to my home. When I called each time I was told product was shipped to me and returned, but no tracking a number was ever made available. I was told it was sent to me twice and returned twice so I was no longer allowed to order or have the product shipped to my address. Because they wouldn't provide me with a tracking number I do not believe it was ever mailed out.

Careful customers, once you order the complete anti-aging kit for $39.99, then MB withdraws a monthly amount of $$$ from your credit card. Did you really agree to that, no not really.!!! Read carefully the terms and conditions. Is that a scam or what?
    Shame on Meaningful Beauty!
I called Customer Service, the guy was rude and said there was nothing to be done so I asked to talk to the supervisor and... after many arguments on the phone they agreed to cancel the Credit Card withdrawals. I'm still waiting from an email confirming the cancellation and if I don't have it this week, I'm going to call again and again.

I bought the product in December2012, it only arrived in Feb2013. I called in Feb to cancel cos I was going to get billed again for another lot. When the product finally arrived I started using it and WOW what a HORRIBLE product. Its supposed to reduce pores etc, I had no open pores but after using this product for 2 days i had ugly open pores., my face started to wrinkle and i started getting bags under my eyes. I called to complain and even though they have a 60 day money back guarantee I did not get my money back. I am young and had good skin and wanted to preserve it. Now i have had to spend so much money to restore my skin from the damage meaningful beauty caused. Please do not buy the product, save yourselves.

I ordered, it was shipped, I've used some of it, but because of the very slight scent I could not continue (headaches) and gave some away. Then, surprise, surprise, I see a charge on my credit card... and then a package came. I took it to the post office and paid about double to send it back the way they said to... and they did refund the amount, minus what they say is shipping and handling... another $15.00. I did not know that they would send more than the initial order and sure did not give them the right to use my credit card again. This is the scam... once they have your card you are stuck... I sure didn't know I was being scammed... don't do it. If you must have this stuff, go to ebay and buy it... much better price... too bad about the scam... I think some of the product may be good...

Dirty Business First of when you order products from Guthy Renker they don't tell you that comes from 3 different companies. When I had to call to cancel I had to call dozens of different numbers, was ridiculous. Customer service was super rude and unhelpful. The first shipment was not received and I called to cancel the whole thing. They did not cancel and continuously kept charging me. The second packaged arrived and I returned back. The third never came. I called several... SEVERAL times discussing the matter and nothing was done. I had to dispute the transactions with my credit card. After that Guthy Renker mail me collections letter, I keep trying to call to resolve the issue and it's impossible I had to pay for some items I never received so it didn't go to collections, now they are sending me more bills for things I have no idea what it is and I keep trying to call them and nothing is ever resolved!!
