Leon's Furniture Delivery problems

I would never go back again at leons this company was full of bull... I purchased an accent table and I was being told by the idiot sales rep that I was supposed to get the furniture between 4-6 weeks and its been six weeks I called the customer service and I was told that my item was delayed for another 2-3 weeks. This company never care at all. If I known it would take this long I could have purchase something else. I have spent almost 4 thousand from this store and they don't even care at all... Never again coming back and I will tell my family and friends about this issue.

I agree with the original complaint, as I too am going through the problem of delivery for a simple fireplace that at this moment is sitting in Calgary AB, The sale was made in Red Deer a great expanse of 120km! I was promised delivery at the latest on Oct. 24th. I live in Olds right between the 2 places mentioned(approx. 70km north of Calgary. I am still waiting and was told it cannot be delivered until the 16th of Nov. as their truck leaving today is full(lol). shouldn't I be near the top of the list or is everyone waiting endlessly for their items. I did receive some of my furniture last week but this item was not on the truck. All I can say is they didn't wait for me to pay for everything ! Oh by the way if the truck leaves Calgary today it won't deliver in Olds for 3 days, must be using horse and carraige.

Ok, it's clear then the delivery date indicated on Leon's invoice (in my case) was not true. It's just for the sake of transaction process or say formality. Based on my experience, i had waited for 18 weeks before I cancelled my pre-paid order. Now I know, buying something from Leon's Calgary, 4-6 weeks delivery means indeterminate. This was what I gained by giving them my 100% trust and of course 100% money down. I was at their mercy to wait for the delivery. BTW, the customer service personnel who attended my cancellation of order was a machine gun constantly firing at a very high altitude (I was just a water gun). She could only speak and hear or I doubt if she could even hear. I was just asking anyway why my order could not be delivered after 18 months (I am a soft-spoken person). Charge to experience, spreading a very important lesson, never again will my family, friends, friends' friends and I will buy at Leon's Calgary. Thanks for your time and input, Mr. StealthPilot.

Special delivery reason doesn't excuse them in the fundamental contract (the invoice, stating the delivery date), otherwise they should have informed me that the item was considered special and the delivery date is indefinite, infinity or what ever you call.

One thing is, why they couldn't tell me if the delay will take 2 months or three months or 4 months or one year, so that at least I knew until should I wait.

YESSSSSSSS! When you buy something at Leon's (in my case, in calgary), the delivery date indicated in the invoice is a BIG BIG BIG BIG lie. They are not really really committed with the delivery date. I bought a furniture to be delivered within 6 weeks. Came 6 weeks they called me up, telling I should wait for another 2 weeks. I waited for that 2 weeks but no delivery was made. Thereafter, I had been calling them each week for 3 months. They could not even give even the approximate date of delivery - blaming it all to their supplier. They could not tell me when, even the approximate date of delivery, say, ok Mr. your purchase will be delivered after 3 months and please wait for it. But no, according to them, they didn'nt know when the item will be delivered, that was of course, after the fact that I had already paid for my purchase. Too much for 5 months to wait for the delivery, finally, I cancelled my order. Another thing, the customer service personnel who attended my order cancellation was very rude. With all my tolerance for the delay, she was not even apologetic, she had more guts trying to defend and defend leon's side. Anyway, my experience with Leon's gave me a lesson that never ever I, my family, friends and friends of my friends, will never buy again at LEON's CALGARY.

Ohh please! Feel honoured we have such wonderful stores to shop at?! I wish! The only store I have dealt with that has been great is Arrow Furniture. They have actually accomodated me and my times along with constant updates as to when they were coming to deliver my furniture.

What about making the customer feel appreciated? What about customer 'service'? it is a service after all and they should treat you as well as the next person not ignore your calls and requests or questions as if they really don't care. Which I have experienced from Leon's.
I am with the first person on this issue. Leon's should have a more flexible schedule, especially when it comes to customers in the downtown area. For such a big chain of stores - and having one located RIGHT downtown by the CN tower, you mean to tell me you only deliver a few days a week? and only 8-5? when most people are working? And then if you take the time off of work to receive your delivery, then you find out that not all your pieces are being delivered because 1 of them was damaged...So, what I am seeing here is that Leon's only has 1 piece of furniture on hand at any given time...hmmm that is very interesting. Piece of crap if you ask me. If there is any change in a customer's order, such a big company as this - being in the business for over 100 years - should know to notify the customer first, this should be a priority, and if something is wrong with your merchandise, then fix it asap! Don't leave it to the customer to go and chase your representatives - which sound annoyed most of the time when you call and then call you back the next day or 2 days after that to ask again what your problem is! I am FED UP! It is totally unacceptable - and no the world doesn't revolve around me, it's just that I am a customer and it's called customer service. - get it right!

I just find people get a little rediculous when it comes to expectations of what they get for their dollar(both for quality and service). As much as I would like to snap my fingers and have your product avalible when you order it there's and then there's serveral differrent scheduals we have to work around.

For starters there's the distrubution center to worry about(what if you order something but don't need it for a month...don't you think that because you put on such a delay that maybe JUST MAYBE it could be sold out by the time you need it? So you'll be caught in that inevitable Post Order wait peroid), then the day the truck comes from the distrubution center with all the orders made my other customers(What if your order get missed?), then the delivery zone you are in for said purchase(what if you want the order on a tuesday but they only delivery to your area of fridays?).

It's not so black and white and I wish that customers would wake up and smell the coffee(the world doesn't revolve around you). You should feel honoured to have such fabulous stores to shop at with nation wide pricing standards(and yes they have them). Otherwise it would be like back in the day with 60% mark up where the consumer just got gouged over and over and over...at these local ma and pa stores where they bought they're product right out and you never really had a clue if you were getting a good deal...where you thought asking for a better price three times in a row was the way you'd get the best deal. It doesn't work like that anymore..sales price is the best price..period.

Try acting a little more humaine to your sales consultant..they're people too. How would you like them to come to your place of buisness and treat you like a peice of garbage? Think about it.

I'm totally with Cassandra on this one. I find to many people expect perfection nowadays. I'm sure everyone on here that makes these complaints works at a job where they hear the exact same things they are saying now. I'm also sure at any given time they have also thought those people are unreasonable for making the complaint.

Pat on the back for everyone who feels that the world should revolve around them.

Leon's Furniture Fake prices!

Leons advertised a Panasonic 32 inch TV on it's web-site for $479. I thought this was a fantastic deal so I went to the nearest Leons store to pick one up. I saw the TV with the $479 price tag on it and another customer speaking to a salesperson about it. The salesperson called the manager who claimed it was a mistake and would not honor the price even though it was on the national web site and clearly marked on the TV. The manager's excuse was that they have a disclaimer on everything so the price you see isn't necessarily the price you will pay. There was no attempt whatsoever to give us the TV at that price or even offer some kind of compensation for the "error".

LEONS SUCKS! Do not trust them for anything. Our complaints to head office about the issue also fell on deaf ears.

I purchased a couch and tv from Leons in Edmonton a few months ago. The sales person followed me and my boyfriend around in the store, adding absolutely no information about the products. He kept following us until we got to the counter to pay after my boyfriend gave me more help than the salesperson did.

The man working there rushed to get behind the computer and put his name on what I can only assume was comission. I decided to use their financing plan. Everything seemed fine until a few weeks later when the furniture was supposed to be delivered to my home.

First, they were late in delivering my couch and tv but no one contacted me to let me know. So, I took a day off work to be there when the furniture was delivered and no one at leons even tried contacting me to let me know the furniture wouldnt be coming that day as it was planned. I had to call them and finally after being put on hold for almost an hour and being transferred several times to different departents they told me they would have to get it on the trucks and deliver it all next week.

At that point I wasnt upset. I understood mistakes can be made. A week later, when the couch and tv were delivered the two men carrying the furniture scraped the walls and the furniture on the way into the house. And then, when I had to take the wrap off the couch and tv I noticed that Leons failed to put the stain guard on my couch. It was worth a few hundred dollars and I wanted to get the product that payed for. Leons wasted my time and ripped me off so I called their North Edmonton office to set things right.

Everyone on the phone was extremely rude. They either had no idea what they were talking about or transfered me to someone else before they even took the time to hear what was wrong. Some of the representatives actually told me they couldnt help me because they said that the account was under my boyfriends name! They put my boyfriends name instead of mine making it so that half the representatives were too incompetent to understand that it was my account. So, I asked to speak to one persons supervisor after another until I could speak to someone who could help me fix this problem. Finally I talked to the manager of the north edmonton leons and she was not only unsympathetic but completely rude. She told me it shouldnt matter that there was no stain guard on my couch, that my account was somehow put under my boyfriends name, or that I took another day off work just to get what I paid for and had already been on hold at that point for over 2 hours.

She even started arguing with me that I should have no problem with a couch that wasnt stain guarded (something they charged me about $200 to have on my couch) I explained to her that because it was not stain guarded it was not the couch I ordered and I wanted it to be sent back. The manager refused to help. She didnt seem to understand that not giving a customer what they paid for was wrong. She laughed at me told me I was being unreasonable and completely refused to be accountable or make any steps to correct their mistake. After talking with her for half an hour I suggested that I just keep the couch because I couldnt afford to take another day off work to deal with Leons mistakes and that she refund me the amount I paid for the stain guard. She refused and instead offered to take $10 off of my order.

Purchasing from Leons was a BIG mistake. Every level of staff I dealt with were completely incompetent. No one had any idea how to do their jobs and when they were approached after the mistake they were only rude and impossible to deal with. For anyone out there looking to make a future furniture purchase save yourself the stress and time and purchase your furniture elsewhere.

I agree that the service at Leon's is mediocre at best. I bought a bedroom set from there where a technician was sent to assemble it; 7 months of uncomfortable sleeping later, my husband and I took the mattress off to reveal that they sent us a broken headboard/frame (it was put back together using scrap pieces of wood) and one side of the frame was screwed in 4 inches lower than the other side. When I call and asked why I was sent a broken frame and had a technician who didn't know what he was doing, they said that I should have called and gotten it fixed earlier instead of calling them later. No apology, no nothing. Then they said that the delivery of a new frame and techinician to put it together would take 2-3 days and there was nothing that could be done.

I will never shop there again. Just another example of a big box store not caring about their shoddy merchandise because some other poor gullible person will go on their 100 years of service (just service, not QUALITY service). To Jojo Chinto above, I have NEVER heard of Leon's calling and telling that something went on sale. That is clearly an exception, not the rule.

JJ, we're only human... people make mistakes... I'm sure you have made many...
I bought a 50' panasonic from leon's at 2199.00, later in that day the sales associate that sold it to me called me to say the price has dropped and it's now 1999.00...
Leon's is fabulous, they've been here for over 100 years, how many retailers in Canada can you think of that have been here that long? Do you honestly think they've made it this far by scamming people all these years? It's a good thing you were the first to catch on to this conspiracy, I'm willing to bet you're a proud owner of CSI's DVD set... lol... Build a bridge and get over it already...

I recently purchased a 32" RCA TV/DVD combo from Leons. I am at a very busy work period & didn't have a lot of time to look for a new TV. Mine had been on the blink for at least a week and I was getting desperate. On the web it was listed as $1100 but when I called I was told they had one left at $899. I made a $50 deposit on the phone & dropped by after work to see it before making up my mind. The salesman was very pushy and discouraged me from looking at anything else they had. I quickly regretted going along with him as once I had it home, I found it was probably the highest price I could have paid anywhere. Not only that, but all sales are final with Leon's - where does it say that? On the back of the paperwork you're handed once it's bought, of course. NEVER, NEVER again - even though I realize I am also to blame for not doing my research and allowing myself to be pushed.

Although it is a sad sorry truth that some people are as pathetic as to actually plan a "con" against simple retail stores, i have to agree that if the price said 479 on the actualy t.v itself AND on the website then that was no simple error. Think about it, a huge multi-million dollar chain of stores such as leon's definetly doesn't have the same person that was in that exact store ticketing t.vs and radios, working on their national website. so it only stands to reason that if the website also said 479.00 they either have the only team of people in the world that are all simultaneously lacking a "1" button on ALL of their technology OR more logically they simply, Did. Not. Mark. The. Right. Price. in which case, yes it is a blow to the company to sell a 1500 dollar peice of technology for less then half, but, that is where good managment comes in and schedules a staff meeting to make sure the mistake DOESNT happen again. LEARN from mistakes becuase everyone makes them i seriously doubt that this paticular store will learn until they actually do some constructive critisizing! Honestley people let's try and remember that everyone is not "out to get you"

The anonymous sender must be a salesperson at Leons. I've received many things that were offered at the wrong price. Sorry, but if the price is advertised for all to see, it must be honored until it's corrected for all to see. When gas prices on pumps are set incorrectly (lower) by the employee operating the gas bar, of course customers are going to get gas at a lower price until it's corrected. The mistake no matter how big, is something that the retailer/service provider has to absorb. Too bad, so sad for them.

To the person who posted the concern with the Fake Prices. I must say that when someone makes an Error they should be held responsible or have to provide compensation..

1) Did you take a look at the website later that day. I've come across many lucrative prices most recently being from Future Shop this past Friday. They were advertising a 58" 1080P Plasma TV with a $1000 saving. A quick email to their Web People and Guess what within an Hour the price had been changed to a $200 Savings.

2) No honest reality such as Leon's would want to advertise something as such knowing they wouldn't make any money. They made an Honest mistake. Buddy you honestly thought you had found a way to beat the system.

3) Do your homework. No Retail is prepared to give anything away. follow what the market pricing is... This would give you an Idea on what you should be paying.

4) i'm sure the Manager quickly changed the price the right retail of $1479. Honest mistake Buddy they missed inputing a 1.

Good luck in the Future Trying to scam someone.

The above comment is a perfect example of why Leon's should NOT be (have been) permitted by the City of Toronto Culture Department to occupy the historically and culturally significant Roundhouse in Toronto. Big Box retail has its place - just not in my back yard. I like Leon's but haggling over nationally advertised Plasma TV prices is hardly a way to revitalize an ailing historic railway site in Toronto. I applaud Leon's initiative - it would certainly be a coup - but at too high an opportunity cost to Toronto.

I would like to send a comment about the New Leon's Store that is going to open in the downtown Toronto Store in the area of The Steam Whistle. A good gimmack on this property would be to sell Antique Reproduction Furniture. People love the look of Antique Furniture and I think this would be a success and serve this new venture well?

Leon's Furniture Buyer beware with leons!

I will never again purchase from the Darmtouth store of Leons. I bought a washer/dryer and pedstals. The washer wasn't working properly from day one. I called the idiot sales rep who said that they don't take back washers, I had to go directly to Whirpool to have it repaired! IMAGINE, not even one day of having it working and I, the VALUED customer had to get repair service! It still isn't working properly and they wont take it back. I am lodging a complaint with consumer affairs on the issue. Doesn't seem fair to me that a new appliance cannot be returned and of course, Leons DOES NOT STATE THAT ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Trust me, they are so BUYER BEWARE.

The pedestals arrived a week late and the delivery chaps wouldn't install them. Said that the sales rep should have informed me of this during the purchase, which he did not. Imagine having to lift a 150lb washer to install pedstals? How does Leons expect a single mother to accomplish that?

BUYER BEWARE WITH LEONS! What a scam they are running.

I purchased a 55'' LG Smart tv from Leons as a part of a larger order. I picked the tv up and for some reason I had to wait (I found out the reason why after) anyways while I was waiting I wanted to show a friend the model of tv that I had bought and noticed the floor model television was not there, my friend laughed and said that was the one I was probably getting. I asked the salesperson if they were in fact giving me the floor model, she said, "no, someone else came in and got that earlier." I told her again that I did not want the floor model and she assured me again that I was getting a "brand new from the manufacturer tv." So I ended up getting it home and when I opened the box I noticed half of the packaging from the top of the box was gone, all the bags for the remote and other hardware were opened and not even taped up, half of it was at the bottom of the box in a mess, the surfaces for everything was smudged with finger prints and scratches. I called the saleswoman back, the same one who had assured me that it wasn't the floor model who promptly placed the blame on someone else and pretty much choked on her words for 5 minutes making excuses ... I'm fine with someone passing blame, BUT the fact that she worked in the store and had full knowledge of them giving me a floor model and then lying to my face, that's not very good, and even worse didn't even apologize once. So now here I am waiting again. They deliver the rest of the 3 thousand dollar order 3 days from now, but I'm on the verge of cancelling if I don't get some satisfaction out of this.

I Recently took delivery of a $11, 568.62 order and everything, and I mean EVERYTHING came damaged, even the appliances were dented up, furniture was dented, scratched, peeled. Everything looked old and used, some of the boxes looked opened and beaten up. The drivers trampled mud all inside my house and damaged my wood floor by dragging a huge stainless steele fridge across without anything under to prevent damage. When I called customer service, they sounded uninterested and told me that they will have to send a tech out to look and confirm the damage. Then they said after the tech confirms the damage they will give me 10% off to keep as is. I refused because I wanted my brand new furniture for my new home not damaged old furniture. They then aggressivley told me that then they will exchange it and that is the only thing else they can do. I was angry with how I talked to by a customer servicde rep named Sonia and so I asked to speak with the manager named Ashleigh and she said that she is on the phone and she will back, hours passed and no call back. I called back finally and apparently Ashleigh has a pefect schedule and leaves 5:00 on the dot. So the next day my husband went in and spoke with the manager and told her that he wants everything picked up and refunded, and she said that it was not an option and that we have to reselect or exchange and by her expression she could care less about our problem. I asked if I could look at it before they deliver and she said not we don't do that and that they are perfectly capable of doing it themselves. After having to take this problem to the General Manager they are willing to take it all back and refunding me and the Manager Ravi could not understand why the customer serviced manager created all this aggervasion when it was so simple to solve. The manager in the customer service is too young for this responsibility and can not take care of customer satisfaction, i have talked to many many people at work that have dealt with Leon's everywhere and 6 people agreed that the Brampton Leon's Customer Service is awful and the managers do not know what they are doing, I shopped there in the past when there were different managers and supervisors and did not have such problems, Leon's need to hire more capable customer service associates! Never Going to Be Shopping at BRampton Leon's AGAIN! I have told many many people not to go to that store. One person has ruined it for the entire store!

Im writing to agree 100% with your decision of returning all your merchandise. I had a similar situation where I bought two night stands one of which was damage. It took them almost 5 months to order a replacement and when the replacement came to their store it was still damage. Now, they will be attempting to try deliver another replacement(fingers crossed) hope its not damaged.

On another note, I purchased a writing desk from them and have asked the manager if they can unboxed and inspect it prior to deliver. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and sure enough the desk is damaged. I then reached out to the manager who assured me that they'll take care of everything. Few hours later, a supervisor called me and wanted to arranged an exchange. From my frustation I requested they arrange a pick-up of the desk and demanded my money back. The supervisor in turn informed me that they cannot do that at point I'm already stress out from the back and forth and demanded that the manager calls me back promptly. Few minutes later, the supervisor calls and say they will give me a full refund only after they pick-up the desk.

My point to all this is, PLEASE do not buy anything from this store again. They do not take care of their clients. They will wait until you're fully stress and aggrevated until they cave. Unfortunate, that business like this still exist... so sad

Leon Furniture and Customer Service SUCK BIG TIME .
LEON FURNITURE IS VERY POOR QUALITY ! I spent over $7, 000 in a dinning set to have it received with numerous manufacturing defects. Not only that, when I sat on my expensive dinning chair, one leg broke in half, good thing by bones didn't.
After chasing them with phone calls, the customer service called back to tell me they are getting quotes from overseas to replace the broken chair and it will take 4- 6 weeks to replace the dinning table (the table has many white spots), in the meantime I can eat on the floor.
Leons are bunch of ###s, this is not the first time their product and customer service is below zero.
Once they convince you to spend your money, they simply don't care about YOU.
Message to LEoN's PRESIDENT: I hope you will go bankrupt very soon, you do not deserve to cash people's hard working dollars. We purchased a Samsung double door with the Water and Ice dispenser fridge 2 years ago with the extended warranty. All the plastic pieces inside are cracking or breaking apart. This model has the extra deep door shelves, all cracking. The top narrow shelf that supports one bag of milk, cracked too! I've removed each door shelf as they begin to crack, we are down to two. The main plastic shelf in the fridge that supports eggs, yogurt, and cheese is also cracked. The glass shelves however are all fine. We have a 2nd fridge that is 8 years old where we keep all our heavy bottles (sauces, ketchup, mustard, pickles, dressings, Milk, fruits, etc), no cracks or problems with that fridge. We called Leons today to get replacements, they advised they do no cover plastic. They said things do not just crack and there must be something we are doing (Yes, stocking food on them!). They told us to check the fine print on our extended warranty certificate, which we never, ever, received. They told us they would mail it out to us. And told that they cannot help us and that Samsung would not be able to help us. So we have a $3000 fridge but cannot really store food in 50% of it... such poor customer service, terrible product, no customer satisfaction, will never shop there again and will deter all friends and family from shopping there. Thank goodness for facebook and social networking! Buyers Beware!

People who buy things from Leons expect the products they bought are indestructible. Remember all things sold are man made, maybe some of us made it. Also, if you have a complaint be courteous and polite to the people you're talking to, they are just doing their job and sometimes they are like us have some situations in our life. Yes, they are in busines but they are human beings to. State your complaint nicely and for sure they will do their most effort to help you. I have bought so many things from Leons for the last 5 years, sometimes I have problem and they are there to resolve it right away, because I always say 'please' and 'thank you'. These 3 words goes a long way... Try it and you will never be sorry.

We purchased a (supposted to be genuine leather) couch and reclining chair. Along with purchasing the premium leather kit for $210.
Its now not even 4 years later and our 100% leather furniture is peeling off its backing. A100% leather would not do this. So now we have a couch and chair that aint worth a ###. Calling the store they sent a rep out to look at it and he said its not repairable as it is BONDED LEATHER. NOT REAL LEATHER that would last for years. After contacting leons there bull ### story ac complished nothing, telling me to contact the leather care people. Once again a song and dance with no satisfaction, lets pass the buck. Why purchase a complete care package with a 4 year warranty, when they dont cover jack ###. This company is nothing but a money grap and a load of crap.
NEVER AGAIN WILL I DEAL WITH LEONS AND ITS AFFLIATED THIEFS.
PISSED OFF AND FUSTRATED AS HELL.

I can see Samsung having poor customer service on their fridges, seems as though they have had tat exact same issue with them since they got into the appliance market - I know a Samsung fridge repairman who is way busier than he should be.

That being said, I just bought a washing machine from the welland store and it arrived today with a giant dent right above the main dial - as if something very heavy fell on top of it (my guess is that the load on the truck was not secure. They are delivering a replacement on friday, we will see how this plays out.

Leon's Furniture Never again will I deal with leon's!

This is a copy of the response from "customer Care" at Leon's. Beware!

Excuse me? I have been in contact with Leons in Nanaimo regarding the delivery time and as the email states, I have not received any response from them. This is the reason this email was sent to "Customer Care". I expected this complaint to be forwarded to your head office, not back to the very people that are the reason I am complaining! Leons does not seem to take much interest in customer satisfaction at all. I have spent $ 4652.27 Canadian dollars at Leons store, if you believe this is a small account and I can be shunned off then Leons should adjust its Customer Satisfaction policy while you still have customers left.

This quote by Terrance Leon surely is not being followed ""combining Leon's rich tradition of offering high quality merchandise and superior customer service with the unprecedented convenience"

By the way, it is now Feb 14 and I have not been contacted by the Manager as you stated below.

Regards

Timothy Hurt

Comments: Order 12226NAXXX expected delivery was 12/26/06 As of today. 02/12/07, I still have not received the Sofa ([protected]) or chair ([protected]) The customer service has been no help, the only time I have been contacted is when I complained. They never called to explain why it is taking such a long time for a mass market sofa and chair. If I was informed at the time of purchase the delivery was going to be so long I would have purchased another model. This delivery time is way out of line. Remember, one satisfied customer will tell 10 friends, one dis-satisfied customer will complain to anyone that will listen... Never again will I deal with Leon's.

Purchased items on Feb 5, no furniture delivered as of Feb 20 as item was in the Niagara branch. I was told on the previous Sat that the item was in Niagara, no call back so I called on the Thursday following and was told the same thing and continuously transferred on the phone to no one.

I wouldn't buy mattress from Leon's because of ugly cat commercial. I am repulsed by cat.
Have an adorable baby on mattress or something cute and attractive. I wasn't even interested in mattress at all because of ugly cat distraction. Do you want to gain customers or lose customers? Just the thought of that ugly cat makes me throw up 🤢

This commercial is beyond annoying! Can you please stop using it and come up with something a little easier on the eyes and ears? I honestly can not hit the mute button quick enough, turning the channel seems a better option!
