Upon getting insurance for both and my wifes' motorcycle, we used the website. Had a few problems, and figured we'd call in, in the event something wasn't recorded correctly. Upon using the site we were never alerted to anything about "accessories" that might be purchased for the bikes, nor when we spoke to a live rep was that mentioned. On 6/9/08, I was in an MV vs MC accident, and my 2006 Suzuki Katana 600-K6 was turned into a total loss. (Looking at the bike photos, I don't it should have been a total loss...)

Anyways, we talked to our rep and was told to submit the receipts for the accessories for the bike (which included a $250 Scorpio IR-500 Alarm System). Total amount spent and submitted was $1, 259.52 including CA sales tax. The adjuster tells me that Geico will pay me $500 for all the items. FIVE HUNDRED? Uhhhhh... the amount was ONE THOUSAND TWO-HUNDRED FIFTY NINE DOLLARS AND FIFTY TWO CENTS. I'm pretty good at math, and I'm thinking Geicos' calculator is busted. To add insult to injury, both my wife and I were QUOTED many times, that I would get the amount I paid for my RX7 Arai helmet. Again, I submitted my proof and was cut a check at one for the amount of $429.00 - the amount of the helmet is $616.21 - again, the math here is a little fuzzy on the part of Geico.

I called a rep on 7/12/08 and explained my frustration. I was very professional and so was he. He sounded sincere in trying to help, but I'm not angry with him (as I told him, before I started talking to him) I just want to be compensated what I and the wife were promised, many times.

And as for the accessories - since this was never mention, I expect FULL compensation. They need to ask the right question when someone is signing up for coverage and fix their website to include the exact "road map" a live rep would take. We'll see what happens before I have to contact our local Consumer Advocate here at our NBC affiliate.

I was hit on my bike and wanted to have my frame checked, the other insured's Co. did not want to due the check, so I called on my insurance Company "GEICO" ! They were I though, on my side. Turns out they refused and told me there was no need just by looking they could see no reason to perform this check...After getting very upset XOXOXOXO I went back to the guy who hit me and got it done. Guess What there was damage... LOW BALLING is not the WORDS I want to Lable GEICO with, lets not get into the add-on. This is a BAD Insurance Co. for Bikers...
