Citibank credit refund policy

When my mother passed away I had her name removed from my parents' credit card account leaving my father as the primary account holder. As he is in a nursing home I have been handling all of his finances. I contacted Citibank to close the account and to get a balance due on the credit card. After submitting my power of atty. for my father, I was given a balance which matched the statement that I had rec'd. I sent a check immediately and then received a statement showing that he now had a credit balance for the amount I had paid. It turns out that 3 weeks prior to receiving the "balance" a credit had been put through on the account and there was no balance due. When I called customer service I was told that a check would be cut automatically at the end of 3 billing cycles unless the primary account holder requested a check be sent. It was suggested that I have my name added to the CLOSED account so that I could request the refund, which I did, but I still cannot do so as I am not the primary. I then rec'd a letter from G Stevens VP asking that I contact them to "discuss your situation and explore alternatives that would be agreeable to both of us". However when I called and talked to 2 different people at the number in the letter I was still told that I had to wait 3 billing cycles even though they created the situation. Lots of pretty words from Citibank, but NO ACTION!

Citibank release $100 fund for emergency and my medication in dubai

Customer service. Mananger Kimberly.
I stay in Dubai I have a medical emergency and my mother deposit in US $1, 300 and usually released $200 immediately and explain to her I need to get my medication I need $100 release from my account and she didn't do it. This is really BAD. If something happens to me as as far as medical I would take Citibank responsible

Citibank student loan (now serviced by firstmark)

I am submitting this complaint as we have tried to work with Firstmark directly. In early July I sent an direct “request for help” to Firstmark letting them know I am having trouble making payment and that their billing and dates of billing was confusing. I had just made payment a month earlier but was still getting phone call when I know I made payment. When I look at the Student Loan account (xxxx0701) online I saw I made payment, also I noticed some of the prior payment only a small amount was applied to the Loan Balance. I am struggling to make payment then only approx. $50 was applied to the Loan Balance. That was difficult and depressing.

My daughter is the primary loan holder, I am the cosigner. She just had a baby and does not have a job. She moved in with me and I am having difficulty making payment. We called Firstmark a few weeks later. The said the can offer a 2 month forbearance but we needed more time. The operator suggested we can call Citibank to work something out but that was all they could do.

I’ve been getting phone call so with my daughter we took a call to day to try to work this out. We were told by Firstmark we have to make payment. At this time we cannot. My next pay check I am in the hole for 300 dollar. I just cannot pay. Ashley does not have any money to pay. The operator said there is nothing he can do. We tried to call Citibank directly and was told they do not have the information on the Loan and that it is not their Loan and they cannot work with us which contradict what Firstmark told us. We called Firstmark back and they said there is nothing they can do.

I feel like we are trying. Not saying we won’t pay, just cannot pay right now. Need time to get funding situated. Ashley is looking for a job. I just retired so I can watch the baby. (need to add my pay will decrease) I feel Firstmark would let us to default on this loan and all that will do is make matters worst. Need help. Need for your guys to please work with us during this time.

Citibank cash offer for opening a checking account

InJune I received an offer from Citibank to receive an amount of cash (amount determined by type of Checking account opened) if a particular type of Checking account was opened and certain requirements were met. I met those requirements and now they have come up with 2 different excuses why they won't pay. The first excuse I called them on and asked them for specifics. Instead of providing those specifics they came back with an entirely different reason why they wouldn't pay. They now say the offer wasn't made to me. I still have the original offer clearly addressed to me.

I opened a Citi Priority account on June 19 and would have to make a bill payment for two consecutive months and make $750 in debit card transactions within 60 days. Both bill pays are posted on my account and I have all the debit card receipts totaling more than $750.

Citibank unfair banking practices by citibank credit cards

Hi,

This is to bring to your kind attention of some unfair banking practices that I am being subjected to by Citibank. I have been holding a savings account with Citibank for the past 18 years and unfortunately this is the first time I am experiencing this kind of a service.

Two months back, one fine morning, I realized my account was hacked and a number of unauthorized transactions were being made on my credit card. I immediately reported the problem and blocked the card. I was told that the old card was blocked and I would be sent a new card in place of that. I also got the new card as promised. However, the unauthorized transactions didn't stop. Even today I am getting notifications for some transactions being made on the old card despite having reported it two months back and blocking the card. I understand they might be allowing the hacker to do this to catch him but what I don't understand is that if they are doing it for a reason that should be at their own risk and cost and not mine. I am charged for all these transactions and I have got a statement for Rs. 5, 80, 967.83 this month. Most of the transactions are unauthorized. Going another step ahead, they have charged me an interest of Rs. 25, 236.36. What is this for? I informed on call and on email multiple times that I would pay the full amount as soon as this issue is resolved. Moreover, I have given a standing instruction to debit full statement amount every month. They didn't debit the full statement amount last month. They deducted only the minimum amount to be paid. I was hoping that at least by this month the issues would be resolved so I could pay the real outstanding from my side. They went ahead and debited all the amount available in my savings account, i.e. Rs. 2, 81, 237.7, which is wrong and fraudulent. I am okay with that because my outstanding is more than that. But this month's statement includes all unauthorized transactions that were done even after my request to block the card and the confirmation of the same from their side. I have lost all trust with Citibank after this. I requested them to close all my relationships with them right away and let me know the final amount to be settled by me after reversing all the unauthorized transactions. I will pay it immediately and close the accounts. But looks like they will only have to pay me because they have deducted more than due. Also, please note that when they are doing reversals they shouldn't credit a lesser amount than the transaction amount, which is what they have done in case of all reversals done so far. It's unethical and unfair by any standard. I emailed this to their head of customer care and copied Banking Ombudsman for further action. I will write to Banking Ombudsman separately with more details.

Also, please note that the bank has also authorized some third party agencies to follow up with me for payment. They have been charging me for transactions not made by me despite multiple reminders and have now started using agencies to harass me to make a payment, which is not really due from my side fully. This is harassment and criminal offence. I am looking for advise on possible legal actions that I could initiate against the bank. I have requested Banking Ombudsman to order an immediate inquiry into this case from their side as well so that the bank realizes what they are doing. I have generally had a good experience in the past whenever I approached them. I hope it happens this time as well. I would appreciate any help that you can provide on this. Thanks in advance.

Citibank costco credit card

Citi doesn't know how to function adequately. Firstly, what is posted on the website account summary, does not coincide with the reality of your account. The website will indicate that a payment has posted and credit is available when in fact they are locking your account until the payment clears. Secondly, if you accidentally mess up on a payment, they wait for the payment to clear, then, once the payment is indicated as processed on your online activity, they still hold your available credit for some arbitrary amount of days. This escapes my compacity to reason, as it is ludicrous to hold the available credit when the payment has already been received. Representatives are great, but have to place you on hold to talk to the processing department and then apologize for their insanity. Peace to all and please Costco, can these guys.

Citibank 1995 prowler camping trailer paid off by 2003

In 1996 we purchased a 1995..27ft Prowler 5th wheel camping trailer from The Trailer Hitch in Pismo Beach Ca ...We paid 176.51 per month to Cit Group in Oklahoma City for acc't number12492104... It was paid off by 2003..I have been trying for a year now to resolve this and keep being sent somewhere else...We need title for this trailer...CIT is still on registration...CIT needs to sign off as lien holder...We've been paying updated license on this trailer...This trailer sets in outside storage and needs to be recycled...It is in bad shape and we are paying storage...No company will remove it without us showing title...Please help..Thank you for your kind consideration...Michael J Mello & Carole Mello...2228 W Dinuba Ave, FresnoCa93706...(same address for 42 yrs)

Citibank duplicate charge on my credit card that has not been refunded

I have been in communication with Citibank dispute department since July 2, 2016. The same day that said duplicate charge was made. I have emailed proof from Amazon and USPS, confirming only one item was sent and delivered to me. I have mailed the documents to Citibank dispute department twice. Citibank has confirmed receipt of these documents, yet they closed the dispute in October 2016 due to not having received documents in a timely manner! I have be calling them regarding the dispute ever since on a regular basis. On February 14, 2016, I called and was told since the dispute was over 6 months I had to send the documents by mail to the dispute department. I sent the documents yet again; they received and processed them in April.
Today they're saying they can't credit me the $ 884.94 because they can't collect the charge from the merchant. Now why is this my problem when I have been communicating with Citibank dispute department since the day this erroneous change was made!

As an executive of a company, you should verify all the information before sending such mail. Indeed, as I was traveling to Europe on June 21st 2017, I paid the July amount due on June 20th 2017. I paid $150.00. And you have the nerve to call me a crook. And the lack of respect continued when I call the bank to explain what happened. The interlocutor let me know that I have to pay immediately $ 89.66 + late fee of 27.00.It is extraordinary, paying in advance or late, you cover late fee. This is really a good business.

You said that you may suspend the privileges I have to be client of City. I am sorry because you are totally wrong because you are lucky to have serious clients like me. For me it is not a privilege to be your client. A client must be treated with courtesy and intelligence. This is not the case here. In order to cancel the late fee, I had to pay “an amount due of $89.66”. This is ridiculous.

As I am a very good client of Costco, I will report this unfortunate incident immediately.

Citibank access checking account closure

Good Day,
My name is Shirley A. Queen and my acct. no. [protected]. On July 17, 2017, I opened a Citibank Access Account and deposited $12, 000 in your bank at 1900 Sunset Blvd. LA, CA 90026 that I received in a settlement with McDonald's Restaurants of California, Inc. I was told to return the next day for any withdrawal of funds. However, when I did return July 18, 2017, I was told by your fraud dept that the check was fraudulent and altered and that my account was blocked from use. I have been in litigation since November 18, 2017, as a self-representative plaintiff, against McDonald's Restaurants of California, Inc via Attorneys Brian Moss and Justin S. Shergill, located in Irvine California. They are attorneys of Manning, Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trester, LLP. Law firm. These were trusted and licensed lawyers that the check came from. And, the insurers' issuer's of the check, Gallagher, and Bassett, are regular Citibank clients.
My issue is that my account is at risk for closure due to the company's fraudulent check. However, when I spoke to Peter of the Delaware office of Citibank TFS on July 21, 2017, he said that branch officers should have followed a certain protocol before depositing the check. It is not my fault that the check was bad. There was no way for me to have known that. I was told by the banker Ms. Gloria Tamayo, Los Angeles, that I could return the next day of July 18, 2017, to withdraw funds. I spent over one hr. at the bank, that day, and it seemed that the check was cleared.
The bank manager, Mr. Sergio Lopez, stated that my account will be closed and that I am at fault because I signed the check in good faith. Yes, I did sign in good faith because I trusted the McDonald's attorneys and the check issuers Gallagher and Bassett. Had the banking officers followed the correct protocol and not deposit the check, but instead just returned it to me, I could have made the necessary steps of contacting the lawyers to let them know about the check problem before it came to this. This is not a letter of complaint about Ms. Tamayo and Mr. Lopez; I like them both and perhaps some check verification process went unnoticed. I simply wish to clear my name with Citibank.
This is not my fault. I am an innocent victim here and I am not part of any kind of collusion whatsoever concerning that check and I wish I had never seen it. Citibank offers many diversified products and is located around the world. As I am rebuilding my credit I would like to take advantage of some of the offers. I am requesting that I be allowed to keep a Citibank account, perhaps to open up a totally new and different one, so that my social security checks can be directly deposited in there. I am a disabled female who lives a solitary and quiet life. I did not seek this kind of ill fate and I wish to remain a Citibank customer. Thank you for your consideration.

Citibank application for employment

Being a perfect candidate for the job, (which was posted Citi career .com) application I believe it was not taken into consideration after submitting it timly with a resume. I feel that I was treated bias-ly. Age descrimnation as well as race and sex, the application was first held then rejected. I am very sad by this and hope it does not reoccur in the future.

Citibank customer service not professional and lack of knowledge

I called customer service on 7/28/17 and told him that it was about business account.
my business account was being charged double transaction for 2 checks which was already debited since august 2016. Why on earth it was debit from my account again in july 2017? Customer service named "Fedrico" asked me all info. and i had been on the phone for half an hour. Finally, he told me that he could not do anything, only business department can done. I told you since the beginning, why just realized now. CITIBANK needs to train their staffs professionally; otherwise; small business owner better transfer to another bank.

Citibank customer service and misinformation

A customer of Citi Bank for many years. I have direct deposit and a check I wrote to the Government came in on the 22nd of June 2017 and my account was short by $100 and Citibank sent my check back the following morning even though I made a deposit before noon that day. Horrible and inconsiderate individuals and organization. In previous years, other banks especially
Bank of America and Wells Fargo had paid my checks n charged me a fee but Citibank treats the working class like crap. The rep whom I spoke to did not properly inform me to make the deposit with a teller and not the ATM, so they refused to force pay it despite my begging and pleading . Each rep including the supervisors and managers I appealed to all gave me different and misleading information on every occasion I called. From one saying my check will be honored to another saying it would be returned. And they absolutely disregard the reps notes regarding calls and does not refer to it.
The scorn and derision I feel is unmentionable, worst customer service imaginable and will definitely take my business elsewhere.

Citibank credit card

My Garuda credit card has not been sent even though it had been approved on 5 May 2017. However, the other 2 cards (rewards and ready credit) already sent and received by my colleague since 9 May 2017. I already complaint about this 5 times, but none of my complaints were taken seriously, until now there is no action from Citibank. They said the card need to be received by myself and cannot be represented (then how come my other 2 card received?) and also that I am not around when the card came. On that day I am on the office full day and I don't receive any notification that a messenger was looking for me. I am very disappointed about this since my cash back program is on the Garuda card and it has a time limit, while I have already fulfill the requirements and eligible to get the cash back.

Citibank citibank deleted my account from their system

I opened citi gold account with citibank n. a, la-rancho park 10680 w pico blvd los angeles, ca 90064 on december 11, 2010 and assigned ms. rosa shadsirat to assist. citi bank couldnt provide me with my debit card during my stay in los angeles and I had to returned back to my country. when I contacted them about my card they always told me the card is sent or they are sending me a new card but I never got the card. finally on december 13th 2016 they told me that my account doesn't exist and asked me to contact unclaimed. org and sco. ca. gov both these office doesn't have any details of my fund or account. again I contacted citibank and they told me to write to 100 citi bank drive san antonio, tx 78245 which I did and posted on january 4th 2017. today march 7th 2017 I tried all means to contact citibank and all failed. I would appreciate if someone could get back to me because I m not living in usa but in bhutan, calling usa is very expensive and does not get connected to the right person. I had attached 7 documents as evidence and my contact details are in the document.

Citibank nri, nro account

Had Citibank NRI/NRO account for many years. Last year I got letter that the bank was closing the local branch and gave me the option to use another branch or close the account. Long story short, my account was closed and I was sent demand draft checks to USA. As it turns out, there is no way of getting these cashed in USA. All attempts at getting hold of a living being at Citibank in India have failed. Was able to get someone on live chat and person left after leaving a number which again is automated and can't get in without entering account number which I don't have anymore. Demand draft is valid only for a limited time.

Citibank customer service

The company refused to reply to an email that I sent regarding poor customer service regarding my account. I will never do business with Citibank again. Costco deserves better service as does the consumer. I paid my account on time and Citibank said they didn't receive it. I sent the check to a Citibank address I had on file in my online banking. They refused to contact their subsidiary and insisted that I make a copy of my bank statement and fax it to them. I am a long term Costco member and have never had a negative experience with American Express. Thank you, Margaret Breen

Citibank personal account

Disappointed with the service. Few employees this location, I never encounter such a rude banker in citibank in this location I was there today and big lines they have 2 employee in the counter and a 1 banker in the left booth that I approach him because theres no one in check in register checklist normally someone there to assist u when u get in the bank in the entrance I was there to gather some information for mortgage and opening checking account although I have saving account already because no one in the check in list assigned he give me sharp look and tell me in a rude way high tone' that he told me in sarcastic way, he said me in break I can not help you with that. Really if he is in break why he's in his desk if he is in break. Why not talk in professional manner and tell me to wait. Like he want me to go away.. Well fine I walk out they are not only the bank. No wonder why lots of client walk away this location my friend told me same story now I prove it.. Because of rude bankers out there.

Citibank citi bank not honoring account settlement agreement

On sept 20 2016. I called cit bank to make a one time settlement payment because I lost my job and got behind on my account, we settled for a sum of 566.72. Citibank sent me a letter to verify the agreement, a bank check was sent out for that amount. I called cit bank oct.11 2016, told account was sold to portfolio recovery. I called portfolio recovery they don't want to honor my agreement, i'm stuck in the middle. I just got a letter in the mail today oct 26 2016 from port folio that there looking to get the total amount of 1259.06. I can not afford this. I would like this to be settled as agreed in good faith. I keep my end of the deal. I keep getting the run around from both company's. I hope to get some help. I have called both company's a number of times

Was the check cashed is the question. If it was cashed by Citi, ad you have the letter agreeing to the settlement, you have them by the balls.
