Buffalo Wild Wings harrassment

I had a bad experience on my daughters birthday and it has gotten worse since that day. I originally asked for a chair with a back for her birthday since she has a disability, but the server said that wasn't possible, yet they would not relocate us to a table that had a chair with a back. I was told to leave that day with my family prior to eating. Five months later I returned to meet a few friends and eat dinner. The server recognized me a immediately called management to our table. Again, I was asked to leave. What did I do? The manager said I threatened the server yet the five other people at my table suggested to have the server come to the table and resolve the issue. He told me to leave. I am being harrassed.

Your proof is in the comments you are receiving, examples of how people really are. Some of these people are just like your server. It’s unfortunate that things like this happen. However, I wouldn’t worry about it. Things always seem to work out bad for people like these, both mentally and physically.

i also feel that there is some very important missing components to why you were told to leave the first time. with that said and as bad as it may be, any establishment has the right to refuse service to anyone. is it possible that they are refusing service for the initial visit? i would say probably yes. but, we wouldnt know unless you let us in on the remaining portion of the story. but, as i always say, if the remaining portion of that story was told, it would be detrimental to the support of your complaint.

I feel that there are parts of this story missing. It is understandable that if you were kicked out once then they would not welcome you back

Buffalo Wild Wings poor service

My family and I visited Buffalo Wild Wings for the first time on Saturday June 11, 2011. After viewing their commercials and receiving numerous emails, We decided to give it a try. Well as we all know - first impressions are lasting impressions. My first impression and experience was horrible. My husband, kids and myself entered the restaurant and stood at the entrance for a few minutes before walking up to a hostess/waitress (that was just standing near the register with two other waitresses) and asking her if whether or not we are to seat ourselves. The waitress reply was to sit anywhere you like (unusual), so we did. We waited, and waited, AND WAITED, AND WAITED, AND WAITED! There were several waitresses around and no one came over to our table to greet us or offer us drinks. The longer I waited the less impressed I became with BWW. About 10-15 min later a large party arrived and requested the booth adjacent to ours. The booth wasn't clean therefore the waitress had to clean it, which pissed her off. She began to clean the table, while the party stood there waiting, in an angry manner, she even threw a high chair across the floor. The party was not amused and neither was I. I noticed the party was getting a little anxious after sitting awhile. I decided to get up and ask one of the several ladies standing by the register if I could see the manager. One of the ladies pointed him out and I approached him. I told him how we had been waiting a very long time and no one had even acknowledged us. I told him I was very disappointed, with this being my first visit and all, and that we were going to leave. The manager, John, only wanted to know what table we were sitting at, so I walked him over to where we were sitting (my husband and kids had already left out) and showed him the table. There was no apology or encouragement to stay. That was my first and Last time visiting Buffalo Wild Wings.

I ordered some wings and fries to go, I was told that it would be approximately 10 minutes to complete the order. I watched the server (bar tender) take a food order from a different patron, and then I stepped out-side to take a phone call, returning in approximately 5 to 7 minutes later. As I was waiting for my order I noticed the server take another food order, at this time the patrons that had placed their order after my order, where being served their food order. Five minutes later the person how had order 10 minutes after my order was also being served. I questioned the server about my order, and her reply was that they would bring my order when it was ready. A few minute later the other patron was being served. At this time I simply asked for a refund. I felt as if my business was not wanted or appreciated. Again it took approximately 10 minute for the "manager" to address the issue. I explained to the manager what had happened, she then tells me the order had been sitting there for a half hour, and I was welcome to take it. My response was "no thank-you, I simply just take my refund and be on my way." I added “I order Togo so when I got to my destination the food would be at least warm." I felt insulted to offered cold food. I do fully understand that in every business mistakes happen, however there is a right and wrong way to handle this, and the way I was talked to, was the wrong way. I don't think me inquiring about my order should have resulted in me being treated like I was bothering the staff of this establishment.

Regarding BWW - Port Chester, NY: From July 8, 2009
Things have changed for the worse. Recommend that ALL trivia players avoid this location like the plague. Recent new manager 'J' is horrific. Went through about 12 boxes and all were LOW Battery. This had been a problem for a few weeks now and they do nothing about it. Requested waitress to get manager. No one came, so our party got up to leave and the manager 'J' came over and accused us of throwing a box at the waitress and hitting her. It never happened. She was probably pissed cause she brought us 12 boxes and all were bad and now she would have to carry them away from the table. Manager 'J' told us to leave. He had no desire to hear the customer out. The waitress lied. They have cameras and if they bother to review the video they will see she was not touched. Manager 'J' did not care. Manager 'J' made it clear to us in words, and action that customers are not as important as his staff. Manager 'J' said that as far as he was concerned his employees are number 1. This is a good attitude as without customers there would be no need for staff. Then again, maybe he was communicating to us that this BWW needs to close since customer was not required. By the way, manager 'J' made the excuse that the boxes were used at lunch time and that is the reason they were not charged. Only a few problems with manager 'J's' theory, this BWW does very little lunch business, and at no time during the last few weeks when given these low battery boxes did staff or management offer this excuse. Rather, the boxes are not charged cause the staff does not place them back in the charging units the night before, or as one manager told us, they might have problems with the electrical connections. On many occasions we had witnessed the wait staff just place the trivia boxes near the charging stations as it seemed to be too much effort for them to return them appropriately so they could be charged. Manager 'J' must have on his bookcase the classic book called 'The Book of Excuses: Ways to Misinform Customers and They Will Be Gullible.' We had been regulars at this location since they opened a few years ago. This incident takes the cake for poor management, unprofessionalism, indifference, and bias towards the truth. We had just met the new General Manager the night before. He was pleasant, professional, and accommodating. The GM 'M' was informed about the problem with the boxes. One last note about the incident. Another manager 'T' was on duty, he knew us as regulars. When we were speaking, or rather being ignored about what happened by 'J' he came over carrying about 8 boxes. Manager 'T' told us he knew we were coming in and he made sure he had plenty of boxes fully charged for us. By his facial reaction after we were told to leave 'T' clearly knew something was amiss. Waitress and manager 'J' need to realize pushing a box to the end of the table so it can be removed and charged does not, and is not throwing a box at a waitress. Avoid this location... better off going to BWW-West Nyack where things have vastly improved under new GM 'P, ' who had been the prior manager of this BWW- Port Chester. Bring back manager 'P.' Time will tell to see how the franchise owners handle this serious problem.

Follow-up:

Well corporate BWW called and indicated that they retracted the notion that the waitress had a box thrown at her and now any contact was purely accidental. However, nothing ever happened. No contact was ever made. If the waitress had been hit she would have yelled and screamed at the time. Since it never happened she had no reason to respond as such. They have cameras all over this location and if management had commonsense and took the time to review the tape they would learn the truth. Also, there was absolutely no apology from the managers and/owners. But these owners do not seem to be concerned about customers as noted by others recent actions by them. For instance, unlike 99.9999% of the other restaurants in this country they decided to NO longer offer decaf coffee. This means that if you are someone who is on a caffeine restricted diet you have no options regarding hot drinks. And if you are caffeine restricted and on a diet you are totally screwed.

More problematic is there new promotion that reportedly begins on Saturday, July 11th at 7PM and runs for 6 weeks. Women will be able to order alcoholic drinks for One Cent. Yes, thats 1 Penny for each listed drink from 7PM to 10PM. I am sure many of these drinks will work their way into the hands of men. Anyone driving in the area should be concerned when these patrons leave BWW on these nights. BWW management and owners seem to not care how their attempt at a money grabbing promotion will impact the community. But, then again, they are the same management team that is indifferent to customers and are concerned only about their own needs. Corporate narcissism at its worst. MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers was notified about this promotion.

Buffalo Wild Wings discriminating

My son which is 18 yrs old and his girlfriend 16 yrs old. They wanted to go Buffalo Wild Wings to eat and they sat down at one of the booth. A waitress came over and ask to check their ID and told them that they can only order carry out. They can not serve them to eat in the restaurant because of their age policy. They said that because his girlfriend is 16 and she have to be accompany by an adult that is 18 and older. My son told her that he is 18. The waitress then change her answer and said "Ooooo...she have to be accompany by her parent or guardian. The policy posted by the door did not state that, It just said under 18 have to be accompany by an adult.

I can understand that if they were sitting in the bar area but not in the dining area. I got to a BWW all the time and there are always high school kids in the dining room area.

Buffalo Wild Wings harassment and racism

I was interviewed by the Bar Manager and General Manager at the new Buffalo Wild Wings in Ames, Iowa. They originally told me that I would be getting $8.50 plus tips (tip-share) as a part-time greeter/cashier. I took the job, and management told us through orientation that they would discuss tip-share after orientation was over, so I waited. In the meantime, I was harassed by a woman working as a trainer for corporate, she favored the younger (teenage) workers and looked the other way when they refused to do their jobs (mostly sidework.)Three workers (myself included) picked up the slack, cleaning toilets, rolling silverware, mopping the floor) because these girls would lie about doing it, or just not attempt to do it at all.

I was one of about six of older employees, and by the time I left all but two quit. I had regular comments about my age (I'm in my mid-twenties) and I was bullied about being "old" and it caused me quite a bit of stress, especially since the teenage girls (the majority of the employees) refused to work with me. I can understand that there will be some drama, clique behavior and fighting especially considering the environment, but I had so many teenage servers refuse to wait on customers (they would sent them back to the greeter/seater, telling them loudly that "they probably wouldn't tip, give them to someone else!" None of these girls were reprimanded.

The last straw was when I overheard my trainer use several racial slurs referring to asian-americans. My husband is asian, and so are a large portion of my family members. I decided that it wasn't a family environment and made plans to look for another job. However, pay was good - so I kept trying to convince myself to stay, and my husband supported my decision. Later on in the week, a couple of my cousins (of Laotian background) dined at Buffalo Wild Wings and the server jokingly made some off-color jokes about asian customers, and made a poor attempt at speaking mandarin saying gibberish such as "ching a ling a chong". They were offended and told me that the restaurant was horrible, they would never dream of going back.

By the time I was made aware of the treatment of my cousins, I was ready to leave. I got my paycheck and it was less than what I expected, I confronted my trainer about it, and she said that Buffalo Wild Wings never does tip-share because the poor waitresses (teenage girls she loved so much) only make so much money an hour. I know that, and they were aware of that upon hire. I have a lot of friends in the restaurant business. However, I was promised that tip-share would be included in my pay by both the General Manager and the Bar Manager, and nothing was done about it.

Due to all these problems and the amount of stress and unprofessional behavior, I ended up quitting. My friends and family refuse to dine in anymore and instead we opt to eat at home. I tried to get the number of Human Resources or corporate in order to file a proper complaint, but it was never posted anywhere in the restaurant.

Buffalo Wild Wings poor service, hair in food

There was a hair in my celery that came with my wings and the shift lead told me that the celery is complimentary and asked me what do I want to do about the hair. I was taken back at the fact that he told me a part of my meal was complementary then asked me what I wanted to be done with an attitude. I asked what is the company policy for hair found in food served to guest and he told me there is no such policy. He kept walking back and forth between our table and the Manager trying to figure out how to compensate us. I ran out of patience because he told me he would take of 15% of of $50 bill, came back and the discount totaled $47. Simple math, 10% of $50 is $5 which means he didn't even take off 5%. Then he came back and gave us separate receipts and the bill still added up to $47. Finally he came back with the bill and gave us $15 off. After waiting 10 minutes to get service for our drinks, waiting another 20 minutes for our food, then to be served the wrong order and have to wait another 10 minutes to get served a piece of hair on the side and have to jump thru hoops with a shift lead that has no idea how to deal with customers, yea I will NEVER go back to that BWW. I attached our receipts, I'm pretty pissed about the 48 hour cap on BWW's website for customer feedback! That's some BS!

Buffalo Wild Wings ridiculous prices

Let me start out by saying we love BW's. Just went last night to Buffalo Wild Wings in Oldsmar, Fl. First off our beer tasted like soap, obviously the 23 oz. glasses were not rinsed or washed properly. After we mentioned it ton the waitress they were taken off our bill (nice). We ordered 18 wings, split the flavors (nice). While waiting for our food I started calculating prices off of the menu. I was shocked and pissed at what I found. For 6 wings you are paying 88 cents a wing. For 12 wings your are paying 74 cents a wing, for 18 wings you are paying 77 cents per wing. These prices are RIDICULOUS. Can you imagine paying 88, 74, or 77 cents for a SINGLE chicken wing. While looking over the dollars rest of the menu you are hard pressed to find any entree under 8 dollars. We are eliminating Buffalo Wild Wings from our dining choices, simply because we can not justify paying this much to eat out. I will miss BW'S!

Keep in mind that every time you go to a restaraunt, you are paying for the staff wages and ambience as well. There is a reason for the mark-up.

Fine dining has certainly taken a hard hit in this economy. I'll be eating microwaved chicken wings and drinking warm miller cans underneath the freeway from now on.

Buffalo Wild Wings horrible service

I am writing a complaint to all the complaint boards, Buffallo Wilds Wings, Better Business Bureau, etc. I will continue to write until I get a resolution or get bored. I was not feeling well and my husband and I decided to order food in. We haven't had Buffalo Wild Wings in a long time so we decided to call in an order to go. When I called, I had asked for ranch dressing with the order as well as an extra blue cheese. The lady that took my order, Colleen, informed me that the extra blue cheese would cost me an extra $.60. It wasn't the cost that upset me, but the way she said it. It was as if I was going to decline the sauce and could not pay the extra $.60. It was quite demeaning but I shrugged it off and told her that it was no problem. I wanted the extra blue cheese sauce. She said that we could pick it up in 10 min. My husband left to go pick up the order. Eventhough, we live in the next city over from the establishment, it was Sat. night and traffic is horrible around the mall which is where they are located. It took my husband 1 hour to go there and pick up the order and return with it. I was starving having not eaten anything all day because I was sick. Much to my surprise, when I opened the food, the extra blue cheese was not there and they had given my Southwestern Ranch as opposed to the regular ranch. I'm used to restaurants not checking orders and getting them wrong. I'm not oblivious to this at all. I then pulled the receipt and realized that they charged me the extra $.60 for the extra blue cheese sauce. That's when I needed to call the establishment and complain. Mind you, if Colleen did not make it such a big deal when I ordered the sauce, I don't think I would have called them back. I mean, really, what are they going to do for me that is going to help me in eating my food at the moment? Nothing. However, I was so mad at the initial implication that I could not afford to pay the extra $.60 that I really could not stand by and let it go. When I called, Colleen answered the phone. I had told her what had happened and she was so non-challant about it that it drove me nuts. I just wanted her to know that she messsed up and that this was not good for business. She never admitted to anything. Nor did she apologize. Again, not surprised. It was a restaurant and I really don't expect much. What escalated the call was when she blamed my husband for the order being wrong. She actually said that your husband should have checked the order before he left and made sure it was correct. That put my brain in full gear. She had asked me earlier if I wanted to talk to a manager and I declined. However, now, I did want to talk to a manager. That's when I got lovely Lisa on the phone. She claims to be a manager. Again, I use the word manager very loosely. She apologized for Colleen and then in the middle of the conversation said to me again, "we go over the order with the customer before they leave and they initial that everything is correct." I asked my husband and he said that they never took anything out of the bag. They simply pointed to everything and he specifically asked about the sauces and the person, I'm assuming was Colleen, pointed to the box with the sauce and said that it was in the container. Yes, he signed and returned home. She offered me a $10 food credit for the next time that we were there. A $10 credit? I never wanted to go there again. They were rude, insulting and down right abusive. Lisa asked what else she could do for me. I simply stated that it's not about what she can do for me at the moment. I was not about to run out and get sauces so I could eat my food. It was about how they are treating customers. If she was the manager, she should know this. I told her to mail me the $10 credit because I never want to go in that particular location ever. After, about 5 min. of her not responding, I get a "hello" on the other end. It was the owner of the establishment. Now I really need to say something here. I know that you do not have to have any customer service knowledge or appreciate the service industry to own a restaurant. However, this particular individual, refused to give me his name, was the most arrogant, rude, inconsiderate and abusive individual I have ever dealt with in a customer service capacity. He would not let me get a word in and when I asked for his name so I can include it in my letter, he said, "letter, what letter. Who do you think you are going to write a letter to?" When I told him corpoarte and the Better Business Bureau, he laughed and with another arrogant tone said, "I'm it lady. There is no one above me. I am the owner." I replied, "Isn't this a franchise? I can write a letter to corporate." He said, "Yes it's a franchise, but don't bother writing a letter because they are going to send it to me anyway." After a couple of more minutes of his abuse, he finally said the thing that was the last straw for me. He said, "what is it you would like us to do, throw Colleen out in the street so you can run her over with your car?" That was it. I was speechless. I really could not believe how this phone call escalated so badly. I was offended and told him so and he simply said, "This call has lasted long enough." Then all I heard was a click. Wow. I have only written 2 complaint letters in my life. This is the 2nd one. So, you know that this was a horrible experience that I needed to share. After that grueling 15 min. call, my food was cold and I wound up throwing it in the garbage. It was disgusting. I don't know if the food just tasted bad because it was cold by then or if I just couldn't stomach eating it after all that. Nonetheless, I will write a letter to corpoate BWW a week until I get an apology and a credit for the food that was thrown out.

I simply told her to mail me the $10 credit. I didn't want to go back to that location. That's when she gave me the owner who just kept yelling and insulting me. He didn't know the difference in the sauces. Sorry, my husband eats everything plain. He doesn't know the difference between ranch and blue cheese.

This is the most absurd thing I have ever read in my life. I work at this location. Management was willing to give you a $10 credit (for that location only. It's written down in a book. It's not a check for $10 so I'm not sure how she would mail it to you.) This was a $.60 mistake and they were going to give you $10. Not sure what the problem was. And by initialing that everything is correct they technically don't have to do anything for you. so unless you expected the owner to hand you the store I'm not sure what you were looking for. clearly you complained just to complain and they were more than fair with your reimbursement for our mistake.

She did not insult you by informing you there was an extra charge for additional sauces. How in the world did you perceive that this was some kind of implication that you could not pay for it? It is a courtesy to explain charges to a customer so they are not surprised at the total. It actually sounds like you should be sending Colleen and Lisa an apology letter for taking up their time with something so petty. It appears from reading your story that they went above and beyond to attempt to satisfy you but they could not. This is the type of ridiculous situation that makes people who deal with the public jaded very quickly. The owner stepped in when his employees needed him to and you got an earful. Was it really worth all of this for 60 cents? I guess so.

Buffalo Wild Wings awful food and service

Buffalo Wild Wings just opened in Mt. Vernon, I'll and my husband and I decided we would try it on my birthday. It happened to be new years eve so we figured it would be busy. We only had to wait about 20 minutes to be sat, but it took at least 5 minutes before we were greeted by our server, Hannah L. We told her we wanted the appetizer sampler to start then we would order after we got that. It took 15 minutes for us to get our watered down draft beers. During the time we were waiting for our app, our server was sitting in a booth next to us eating off of a customers plate, which was not appropriate! About 20 minutes after ordering, apparently a friend of. Our server came in and sat at a table next to us. They got their food before we got our appetizer. About 45 minutes after ordering, we got our CO
LD appetizer. At that point we had nothing to drink, were missing things off of our app and had no plates to eat off of. 10 minutes later the server came to check on us to get us the rest of our stuff. At this point I told her we needed our check. The total was about $17 nd my husband put down a twenty. Instead of her saying she will be right back with the change, she asked do you need your change back? I'm sorry but you don't ask for a tip!
There were two shift leaders or managers there but I didn't see them stopping at ANY tables checking on customers! I've told everyone I know to not ever go there! This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had or seen. And I served for 4 years so I have seen some bad ones! I will never go to the Mt. Vernon Buffalo Wild Wings again!

Buffalo Wild Wings general manager

I went in with some high school friends after a game. We had been in there a few times this foot ball season. On one other occassion the general manager approached my friend and I who were exiting the bathrrom. He asked us if our service was going well and if there was anything he could do. I said things were fine and we were good. He asked if I were interested in a job and that he would be willing to sit down with me and interview me. I gave him my cell number and he said he would call when he had a time to meet. I got a call from (d) and went to meet him but not at bww. He met me at taco cabana. I left after ten minutes because he came on to me and mentioned nothing about the job and had not application for me - I was intimated and scared. I have not been in there since.

Buffalo Wild Wings inappropriate employees

I was out with my family and I was watching one of the waitresses named Mary talking with some customers. She didn't seem to have the best attitude anyways. So I'm glancing over to see a television, and I see her just drinking some customers beer right there. Now, I work in the restaurant business and I know that employees should never drink on the job. It just seemed inappropiate and not very professional. She also just had a bad attitude with her co-workers. It made me feel really uncomfortable.

Buffalo Wild Wings materialistic owner with less than subpar customer service skills

Do not go, especially not for ufc! The food is tasty, that deserves 1 star, however the management and customer service is horrible, and the owner tries to justify the actions of the (In my opinion) napoleon-complexed manager, lou. We paid $40 for the cover $10/person, and when we asked 3 servers to speak to the manager, he finally came to hear our request. Our table along with neighboring tables were trying to get them to turn on the fight on the big screen on the tv close to us. Where we were seated, a partition block my boyfriend's view, and it was also the area where employees congregate to place orders, fill drinks, etc., and the other tv that was playing it was flooded with sun. When my boyfriend got through 1/2 of stipulating how ridiculous it is to charge someone for fight and not accommodate, the (My opinion) neolithic little man, whom I hope is incapable of procreation, said that he was kicking him out! The boyfriend was not aggressive (Although he's a bigger guy, obviously intimidated because he stood behind a partition and the owner when the boyfriend went to discuss this with the owner). The manager cowered in back at some point to call the police on us, (I did have a few choice words for him by this point) after we paid for a meal that we never got to eat, that's all the owner was concerned about because he had other patrons - not that he's caring about reputation, consideration of those who are the reason he's in business. When this was explained to the officer, he said he couldn't take sides, but "that sounds ridiculous", even one of the employees we spoke with said that the other employees like the manager, but he's a constant issue with customers. We wasted over $100 + to be treated like #, and cherry on the dessert, when I came home and googled buffalo wild wings complaints - across the board are dissatisfied persons pertaining to customer service, it apparently the restaurant you invest in if you are incapable of adequately maintaining quality service. Look at complaint boards, my3cents, and the list goes on! I'm having a # made that says "ask me about my experience with buffalo wild wings, and why I will never go back", and being the social person I am, have every intention of wearing it to each and any event I go to.
Go to wing stop instead, the people are awesome, the wings rock, and you're not taking the chance of paying them to treat you like #.

Just FYI, the photo uploaded is from where we were sitting, can you see the TV that has UFC on it, look right of the big screen! It's the one with a yellowish circle - which is the arena with the blue and red lights... I never got to eat the food he required us to pay for, but he took off the charge for the beer he didn't let us drink either!

Buffalo Wild Wings horrible server

My friends and I always go eat at Buffalo Wild Wings after work and we go there atleast 4 times a week and always have awesome service. We went eat tonight after work our servers name was Bree she was by far the worst server we have ever had. She was unfriendly, never smiled, and was also rude when we arrived to meet our other friends. After she took our drink order she brought us our ticket before our food was even out. She was just horrible from the beginning not to mention my friend & I who were a little late ate our food over dirty trays that she did not pick up off of the table from when our other friends left.

Okay I have had 2 horrible experiences at this particular location. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to this location if you're ever in town, they suck, the whole place is run by stuck up [censored]es and people who can't count to 10! Anyways, first off they always forget to refill my drinks, which is a 1 strike, you're out deal from me giving a single penny for tip. Our waitress that night, refilled my friend's cup and completely ignored mine, even though my cup was clearly empty right there in front of her. I complained that first time and got $40 in gift certificates as an apology from management, which was something more than expected. The waitress gave me a personal (sugarcoated) apology with the manager present. The second time around, we were waiting for our food for 30-40 minutes, which was probably the longest I have ever waited at a restaurant! People who came in after us were getting there large orders first, which was completely f*cked up. The waitress yet again forgot to refill my cup, which meant $0 tip thank you, you blew it completely there ma'am. ^_^ I complained a second time and got some more certificates which was sweet, but I swore I would never EVER go to the location again. I am posting the address and phone number of this location on here to show you how much I hate this location and warn you to NEVER go there! F*ck you BWW, I'm goin to Hooters! PEACE!

Waitressing is tough sometimes. I have friends in that field of work. Lots of memorizing and mistakes do happen. No big deal. But the nightmare that ensued after one waitress' mistake and then lack of intelligence to own up to that mistake cost us a total buzz kill.

My boyfriend and I met up with 4 other couples already at the bar area of Buffaloes. Several drink orders were placed and my boyfriend received the wrong drink. No biggie. The night carried on and another couple joined our group. The couple to our left asked for their tab. They paid and left. Then the rest of us asked for our tabs. Our ticket ended up having an extra beer charge along with the charge for the wrong type of beer. Meaning she messed up the tabs pretty much for everyone. We aren't scene makers so it was no big deal. My boyfriend and I just wanted the one beer taken off. She refused and got management. We spoke with management and he kept asking "are you sure it wasn't yours?". I said it was the couple to our left who left early. Their signed stub was too low because he had more than one beer. The waitress swore he only drank one. It took 30 minutes for the manager to finally give in and remove the false charge. Within the 30 minutes, only one couple stayed behind with my boyfriend and I. We paid and left. As we walked to our car, two different waitresses ran after us asking where the LAST COUPLE to join our party went. Turns out our waitress forgot to make sure they paid because she was too busy fighting over a $7 dollar beer with us. My boyfriend did not know the couple directly and immediately offered to call his friend who knew the couple. He went back inside with the waitresses. I waited in the car. 45 minutes later the couple arrives to pay and my boyfriend returns to the car. Turns out the manager had refused to let him leave. He was demanding MY BOYFRIEND pay the tab of the couple. When my boyfriend refused, the manager demanded he hand over his drivers license for not paying. My boyfriend refused. The manager proceeded to threaten my boyfriend with calling the cops. The only logical explanation is the manager was banging our waitress. Why else would management treat customers like that? We were never rude, upset or trying to get anything free. We even offered to help get the couple back to the store. Looking back I wish I would have called the cops. This happened a year ago and haven't been back since. This is what the company gets for hiring ex-cons and high school dropouts. And yes that's a rude assumption based on their appearance and intelligence. For everyone out there, make sure you politely point out mistakes to a waitress or waiter. They might be related to our dumba** waitress and think they are perfect.

The last one there is the one stuck with the tab. Had the manager called the cops, the cops would have told him the same thing. It is not the waitress fault the couple tried to stick you with their tab. I feel for the waitress here. 4 couples consuming alcohol and when you knew a mistake had been made, you failed to make sure all the checks were right before people started to leave. That makes you partially at fault.

We always keep a written tally of our drinks. Even when we dine alone.

Buffalo Wild Wings horrible work place

I was terminated after a group of high school girls complained that i had rudely asked them to lower their voices. I had five tables walk out becuase of this group of unsupervised kids. The manager never asked them to lower voices in order to keep the other customers happy in a family resteruant enviroment. I have never been late to work. I always worked my days scheduled and even picked up days to help them out. I know of many employees who has had their mother call in for them. Some will walk into work an hour late every scheduled day! For one complaint from a so good luck keeping a job at BDubs group of inconsiderate high school kids I got fired hours after the fact that night. This occured around 8 that night but i was mentioned nothing to until I closed! A write up I could understand it was a first offense I never even had a write up. It was not my place to lower their voices but the manager was not in my opinion doing her job. So for future reference do not work at a Buffalo Wild Wings. The first customer complaint you get you are automaticly fired! No write ups nothing! Everyone isnt going to please all customers so good luck keeping a job at BDUBS!

I agree it's a horrible work place. I'm a 24 year old woman and I'm being harassed by my coworkers (teenage girls!) It's like high-school all over again! TERRIBLE! Sure, it's a fun atmosphere but I believe there's a time and place for everything... especially when there's children present that can overhear everything that's going on around them. I'm quitting and NEVER going back!

Buffalo Wild Wings managment abuse

I am an employee in Buffalo Wild Wings in Goshen, and I want to say that working conditions do to management are dreadful. With unemployment being so low there really aren’t many other options left, but to stay and undergo the abuse from the management. In the Buffalo Wild Wings in Goshen the managers have favorites that get away with anything. This is all do to the fact that the favorite employee is the managers daughter. There are no rules there anymore; it has gone as far as to changing the policies back and forth. For example there is a big group that comes in on Sundays and always goes to counter so they wouldn’t need a waitress, it is big group of 30 to 40 people. On many occasions employees complained about the mess they leave and room they take up resulting in less tip money for the servers working. The same group came in just a week ago and went to counter like always; well the manager’s daughter was serving that night, instead of letting them order at the counter the manager changed the policy for that night telling the people that they do not have the option of ordering at the counter and that they will need a server. Following this with seating them in the section his daughter was working in. This is only one of times the manager has changed things just so his daughter would be happy.
One of the big things in the restaurant are seating people in a specific order to split the number of tables between the servers equally. Anny given time when the manager’s daughter is serving the normal procedure does not work. According to the manager whenever she complains she is right and she should get whatever tables she wants. The most recently there was a new policy that was started, whenever a large group that would take up more than one table would be seated in one servers section, that server would be skipped when seating new customers to equal out the tables. (If one server got people that take up three tables, that server would be skipped two times to give two more tables to other sections) Tonight there was a large group that came in and got seated in the managers’ daughters’ section. They took up four tables and according to our managers’ policy that he came up with we should skip her section three times to equal it out amongst other servers. But he decides that we do not need to skip his daughter, but still follow the procedure of skipping sections on other servers.
Another reason why working in Goshen’s Buffalo Wild Wings is so bad now is how much the same manager abuses his power over employees with scheduling. So far every single person who has tried to talk to him or other management about any problems had a instantaneous decrease in hours and termination within couple of weeks. Even when it is not about a problem asking for anything is a risk. When one of people that work in the kitchen tried requesting some hours on the floor he was ignored the first time, the second time instead of just answering and saying no the management scheduled the employee to work only two days of his average five days. A week after the same employee had no hours at all. A number of times when people have tried asking to become servers they were ignored, when the request was repeated they were removed from the normal schedule and put on serving one day a week to two days, until they ended up quitting do to lack of hours.
If the employees do not follow the ridiculous wants of the manager they will get abuse until they quit, or they will just get fired.

One complaint hardly applies to an entire chain. If the employees were being abused, and I don't argue the validity of this complaint, why didn't they complain at the corporate level? That response would have been a fairly good indicator of how this particular fast food chain is being operated.

try working for a gm that is 22 and all he sees is the money signs.. there is no proper sanitation followed servers eat off of customers trays before taking it to the table. not to mention i never see any waitstaff wash their nasty as hands before doing any food running prepping or nothing. the gm is also sleeping with waitstaff.. he doesn't enforce any of the policies set forth. i work in the kitchen i have had my hrs shaved but i had my printed time tapes that i print out every time i clock out, when i was getting shorted hrs on my check once i started printing out my time slips at clock out it stopped after 2 checks. i still print them out today... and yes the the tip out is unfair. our store the waitstaff have to tip out to the bar... i don't know the % but even if they don't have any tables that order a drink from the bar they have to still give a % to the bar? how is that fair.. and anytime i put an order in the window to be ran for the bar no waitstaff will run it and i don't blame them...

I've been working at BWW for 5 years and they do shave your paychecks. My friends in the kitchen have proof, although it is a franchise store I have worked at corporate stores and they were a lot better. "I" working in the kitchen got kicked out of BWW for having my hood on in the dinning room, and on my day off. and still have my job. I've seen way too much and they do not follow policy.
