Bassett Furniture Industries Sectional

We have gone through 3 sectionals from Bassett and each one after a few months has started creaking from the back. The first two sectionals were inspected and repaired and we were told that if this happened again we could get a refund and return the couch. Now we are being told that our THIRD sectional needs to be inspected and repaired first. We are extremely unhappy. This has been a complete headache and has taken up way too much of our time. We are so disappointed that Damla Ari is going back on her word and making us go through this again.

Desired outcome: We want what we were told we could get if this happened again. A refund and return of couch. Nothing else will be okay for us.

Bassett Furniture Industries Dinning table that I purchased from Bassett Furniture in Woodland Hills

I purchased a dinning table and chairs from Bessett furniture in Woodland Hills July 2021. Few months after I purchased my dinning set, the wooden weave on a chair broke off but they replaced the chair. Few months after that, my son cleaned off the table with a Clorox wipe and the coloring of the table came off. I contacted them and told them this and they said that they are not responsible for the damage since I didn’t get extended warranty on the furniture. What kind of horrible quality of furniture this is if I can’t use Clorox wipes on it. This furniture wasn’t cheap and I had a table before that which was cheaper, lasted me 10 years and I didn’t need to purchase extended warranty and I used Clorox wipes to clean the table. I am frustrated that the table isn’t even one year old and it’s already damaged. Their quality is poor and very expensive.

Desired outcome: Replacement of the table

Bassett Furniture Industries $2,000.00 rug

I ordered an area rug from Bassett San Jose. 1st rug was ruined by the delivery driving company the replacement rug was delivered and returned on the spot. The rug appeared to have a completely different color almost like bleach spots and the ends of the rug looked beyond dirty. COVID hit so my issue went unresolved until today. I was told a couple of weeks ago that my account would be credited which didn't happen. Today I got a call from the manager Laura who said nothing is wrong with the rug that is how it is made. They will do nothing my only choice is to pay 15% re-stocking fee or they will deliver the ugly rug on the 23 rd. I have had nothing but issues with the products I have purchased my dining room table and chairs however there is not enough room to write it out. I would appreciate a phone call from someone at a higher level that can make this right after they hear the full story.

Bassett Furniture Industries swivel rocking chairs

We bought 2 swivel rocking chairs that we liked and after they were delivered they started to wear strangely. Then water spilled on one of the chairs. We wiped it with a cloth and the color came off. We thought that was very strange and cheap looking especially for the cost. We complained and they played email and phone tag with us for months. Also they sent out a technician out to repair the chair for damage that was done at delivery. He said oh it's like jeans the dye just rubs off. We couldn't believe it. So finally the store manager writes an email that they will replace the parts and we will have to pay for the techs labor. We called and he arrogantly addressed the issue. He acted like we were lucky and he was doing us a favor. I didn't appreciate his tone at all. If you don't want to be in customer service then don't seek employment in the field. I was completely disgusted by the experience. He was unable to talk about anything as he would say I will need to speak to his regional manager. We've been customers of Bassett since the early 2000s and have spent a significant amount of money there. This is completely unacceptable. I'd tell anyone that will listen to never buy Bassett ever.

Bassett Furniture Industries sofa and loveseat

I ordered a sofa and loveseat in mid oct 2017. Delivered thanksgiving week and before christmas I was emailing raleigh nc store that my couch and loveseat were both "peeling" terribly. The only comment I received was "yes, that can happen" and "here's a link to the"shaver"we use at the store. What?!? I just bought new furniture and I have to"shave"it?!? Well I have"shaved"the furniture numerous times and it is a joke! Rough to sit on, ugly to look at the cushions which certainly look older than 6 months. I even purchased the extended fabric warranty and store said" doesn't cover peeling. $8000.00 and I have crap! I will tell anyone that listens bassett is a joke!

Bassett Furniture Industries dishonest, deceptive, rude and useless

If you go to Bassett do not talk to the salesman because they will lie to you about costs, shipping costs and delivery timeline. after you pay they will give you a second contract to sign:. this contract will say that they are not bound by anything they have promised you.. you will then have the option of suing them in small claims court or being stuck with the wrong furniture?. they will not care because they have your money and no one ever sues them?.

My entire experience can by summarized in the email I received from the general manager: From: michael annese [protected]@gmail/.com "I hope you will learn in life that being a condescending, and arrogant person is not helpful to you at all, . You are not as bright or quick witted as you think you are". Thank you, Michael Annese General Manager Bassett Furniture Cincinnati Ohio"!

Bassett Furniture Industries did not deliver!

We purchased furniture in July, and were promised delivery within 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, we called every day and were brushed off. Then, after 9 weeks, the store calls and says: "Our delivery company decided they cannot deliver to your location." That was the ONLY reason we bought the furniture to begin with! We sat on lawn chairs for a month for no reason! Then, we rented a Uhaul to pick up the furniture, and they wouldn't even help us load it! THEN they wouldn't refund the delivery fee. This store has no clue about customer service! I hate to even look at the furniture I spent three grand on!

Bassett Furniture Industries fraud

Bassett furniture is a fraud. I purchased a $3, 400 sectional from this company and the leather has started to peel. I got an expert to take a look at the damages and he let me know that they sold me furniture that was not real leather. They hard sold my the furniture with the idea that it is of extremly better quality than just about any other store in my city. For the price that I paid this is fraud. They have discontinued this line. I also purchased a warrenty and they will also not fix the damages or provide a replacement. Never purchased anything from this company!

Bassett Furniture Industries refuse to replace

We purchased a Bassett couch and love seat which looked dirty upon delivery. When a representative came out to clean it, we were informed that it was just the "nature of the fabric." Not only is its nature to look dirty but also to look worn and to "travel" (making pulling and tugging of the fabric to align it one of my new daily chores). We had stressed to the sales rep that we wanted a fabric that would require no fuss, that would take the daily wear-and-tear of a family room and look great for years to come. One week later our brand new Bassett couches looked older and more worn than the 10-year-old Bob's Furniture couches they were replacing. Bassett's response has been, "your problem, not ours."

Bassett Furniture Industries poor quality desktop finish

Within 1 year of purchase from Basset Furniture, the desktop finish gets large flaws when in contact by wires or other rubber products, such as computer and telephone wires and feet. The finish indents and raises around the rubber becoming very unsightly. The store sent a person to view and take pictures of the desk. He said this has been a problem with their desks. Since I did not buy their extended warranty, they will not consider anything other than sell me another desk. Fool me once, shame on you. Thus, poor quality products and a company that will not stand behind its product.

Bassett Furniture Industries poor quality furniture, huge delays, crap customer service

I recently ordered $6, 400 worth of furniture at Basset Furniture. It is a dining table with eight matching chairs, and a shelving wall unit. The salesperson seemed reasonably knowledgeable and I patiently waited the six weeks for the furniture to arrive.

When it did, I was shocked. The stain on the dining chairs was darker on the tops than the rest of the chair. The entire set was a darker finish than I ordered. The poor quality craftsmanship showed on the underside of the table. But the biggest problem was that the shelves had come in the completely wrong color. The delivery guys called the store and ended up taking away the shelving. I had taken a day of vacation for the furniture delivery. I was furious.

The store manager was dismissive and aloof. He interupted me, was evasive on when he would get back to me, and blamed me for the mistake. He called the next day to report the salesman said I had wanted the two different colors - pieces that are in the exact same room. It was a blatant lie, but one that I had no paperwork to refute. They refused to do a refund or even apologize. Their "solution"? Take another day of my vacation to come in and argue with the salesperson, then order the shelves in the darker finish I originally asked for. I will have to wait another 6 weeks. That is three months from the time I ordered that I actually get my furniture.

Bassett Furniture is a rip off for the quality, has terrible customer service, and the customer has no recourse when the store personnel make a mistake. My next step after posting this is to contact consumer reports.

We ordered or furniture in early Oct. 2007. We new the date we closed on our new home and new the estimated time for delivery and coordinated it so. Well Upon receiving the furniture in mid Nov. we noticed that almost every piece was damaged or missing pieces. On top of that some of the items ordered were never even placed. Upon speaking with the store manager about items being the wrong color and damaged they agreed to rush us new furniture. Well Christmas came and went with family sitting of folding chairs, still no word. Finally got in touch with them in mid January about the damaged furniture and missing chairs. They told us that the replacement foot board was still in the approval stage and that our furniture was scheduled for delivery on Friday. I assume we would have never received a call about delivery if we had not in fact called them. We are still waiting on replacement parts for damaged furniture and will never shop at another Basset furniture again. Thank God that when we went to purchase our new sectional sofa we went to Haverty's instead. Hopefully our experience will be a better one then the horrible experience we have had with Basset.

Bassett Furniture Industries horrible customer service

I am very happy with the quality my new Bassett furniture. I was only slightly frustrated when an upholstered chair was broken during transport and when my dining room table and chairs were ordered incorrectly. What angered me the most was the horrible customer service I received afterwards. The sales person would never call me back and then claimed she tried but didn't reach my voicemail. Didn't even have the brains to call me and tell me that my replacement furniture was ordered. I had to find out that on my own. Then when I finally got ahold of my sales person I explained how frustrated I was and wanted a partial refund for my troubles, she promised to call me back in 30 minutes and never called me again. I'm now dealing with corporate customer service.

Bassett Furniture Industries customer service and refund policy

5/10/09 – Purchased table and six chairs. Informed the purchase would be delivered in 30-45 days.

6/10/09 – Called store to inquire about the status of our order. Was informed by Cherel Cairns that Dee Mangulins would call me back with this information.

6/12/09 – By 4:00pm no return call. I called and spoke to Ms. Mangulins and she tells me that the order is at the dock and should be shipped to their warehouse on 6/16/09 and that delivery would be within the next few days after that.

6/18/09 – Called to inquire about status of delivery. Was told by Ms. Mangulins that she would check into it and call me back.

6/19/09 – By 4:00pm no return call. Spoke to Ms. Mangulins and was informed that the table was at the dock, but the chairs were not. She informed me that the chairs should be at the dock by 6/23/09 and that delivery would be within the next few days after that.

6/24/09 – Called to inquire about status of delivery. Was told by Ms. Mangulins that she would send an email to get the status of order and call me back with the results.

6/25/09 – By 4:00pm no return call. Spoke to Ms. Mangulins again and was told that she did not make in on the shipment for 6/23/09, but would definitely be on the truck for 6/29/09 and delivery that week. I informed her that this was now the third time a delivery was promised and if it was not delivered by 7/3/09 that I would be very upset and would demand satisfaction.

7/2/09 – By 2:00pm no call in regards to a delivery. Called to speak to Ms. Mangulins and was told that she had the day off. I spoke to Cherel Cairns to inquire about my order and the anticipated delivery. I was placed on hold for a short time. Tanya Newland came on the phone to inquire about my call. I told her I wanted to know when my order would be delivered. I was told by Ms. Newland that the only information that she had was that the factory did not have any of the chairs in stock at the time of my order was placed. That the factory had received the supply and that my order was now in production. However she could not make contact with the factory because they were shut down due the holiday. I informed her that I was very upset at this news and why had this information not been conveyed to me in earlier conversations. She tells me that I had not talked to her. I told her she was correct, however Ms. Mangulins or Ms Cairns could have given me this information over the last several weeks to keep me informed. At this point I told her I wanted to speak to the owner. She told me she would have him call me at my home number by 6:00pm. At 4:30pm a Mary Pieper called my wife’s cell phone and left a voice mail to call her back by 5:00pm, as she would be out of the office until 7/4/09. I tried to reach Ms. Pieper at 5:15pm, but was not able to make contact. At 6:15pm I again called Ms. Mangulins and told her that I would cancel the order for failure to deliver on time and to issue a full refund to may Bassett Credit Account. She told me that she was not authorized to issue refund and that I would have to speak to Ms. Pieper. At this point I am extremely upset and angry with the customer service that I have received and no longer want to conduct business with Bassett.

7/4/09 – Called to speak with Ms. Pieper at 11:00am and was informed that she was not feeling well and would not be in for the day.

7/6/09 – Called to speak with Ms. Pieper at 10:00am. I informed her of my dissatisfaction with delivery and that I wanted to cancel my order and a full refund issued to my Bassett Credit Account. She told my under no circumstances would she issue a refund or cancel the order. I informed her at that that time that I would like to speak to the owner of the company. She told me that she would not give me his name and that I could look it up myself on the internet. I told her that I would contact the Ohio Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, GE Money, and Bassett Corporation to lodge a complaint. She told me I could do what ever I wanted to do.
At this point I decided that it was best to no longer have any direct contact with Bassett Furniture Direct in Columbus or Louisville.

7/6/09 – Filed complaint with Ohio Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, and the GE Money. Wrote a letter to Robert H. Spilman, President and CEO of Bassett asking for his assistance.

Bassett Furniture Industries horrible customer service

I bought an entire living room set from the Melbourne, FL store in January 2009). When I was ordering chairs in February 2009 the salesman (who was only there for a month) suggested this area rug to go with the living room set. He brought out a sample which was brown with gold hilights. The rug came in many weeks after the stated delivery date and what came was a "yellow" rug with brown highlights. It looked horrible with the furniture.

I immediately faxed Tricia who I had been working with after the salesman left. No response. I called and got the manager's name and faxed him the next day (no response). I tried again the third day and no response. They obviously have caller ID because they will not take my calls.

What is worse than the yellow rug is them ducking my calls and attempts to resolve this. In my fax I suggested a store credit would be fine. I was not even trying to get my money back.

I have no idea what to do next - I am so frustrated. I faxed them and asked if I could return the carpet and work out details later (guess what - no response).

Bassett Furniture Industries damaged furniture

I purchased a dining room table and chairs at Bassett Furniture in Ft. Lauderdale in February 2009. After about 2 months of shopping for the furniture, I was so happy that my wife and I found something that we both loved. We took advantage of the 6 months same as cash and made the purchase.

We were told by the salesperson that it would take about 2-3 weeks to take delivery of the furniture. The furniture did not arrive at the Bassett Furniture warehouse in West Palm Beach until about 5 weeks after we made the purchase. It then took one week to have the furniture delivered from the West Palm Beach warehouse to Hollywood (2/18/09). When the furniture arrived, I noticed several problems as the delivery men were moving the furniture into my dining room:

• One of chairs had a fractured leg.
• One end of the table top had deep dents running along the entire edge.
• There were brush hairs dried into the varnish on one of the chairs.
• The finish on the table top was extremely blotchy on one side of the table.
• There were many extremely sharp burred edges on the table…some edges were smooth while the same edges on the opposite side of the table were very sharp. One of the reasons that we liked this table so much in the showroom was because the table was kid friendly, as all of the edges were rounded and smooth.

The delivery men encouraged me to take delivery of the furniture and said that Bassett would send out a technician to make the repairs. The technician was scheduled to come to my house 9 days after delivery. When I inquired as to scheduling an earlier date, Bassett said that it was not possible. I was told that the technician would call the day before in order to schedule a time window (technician should have called me on Thursday 2/26/09). Well I was at my son’s school for a holiday performance on Friday, 2/27/09, when I received the call from the technician. He was standing on my front door step waiting for me to answer the door and I told him that I was not currently available. I asked if he could stop by later in the day. He said that he would have to reschedule for the following week.

The way I saw this playing out was that the technician would show up the following week, he would determine that 2 of the chairs and the table top would have to re-fabricated (4 weeks), the new parts would have to be shipped to the WPB warehouse, one week for delivery from WPB to Hollywood, and then one week to schedule a visit from the technician. I was not willing to wait the additional 7 weeks to resolve the problem.

I finally called Bassett Furniture to request a full return and refund. Bassett informed me that there would be a 30% restocking fee. After debating this issue, they finally agreed to waive the restocking fee but they insisted on still charging me for delivery. I disputed the delivery charge of $136.74 and the credit company sided with Bassett Furniture. I do not understand why I have to pay the delivery charge if I did not buy anything from Bassett Furniture.

Bassett Furniture Industries damaged goods/horrible service

I purchased a credenza and cocktail ottomon over memorial day weekend (today is August 18th). I called 3 times to check on the status of my order to be told that one piece was still missing at the factory. The last time I called & complained someone finally called me back to schedule delivery for tomorrow the 19th between 2 & 6pm.
This morning, I get a call from Lara? saying that my credenza is damaged and they have to try to repair it or order a new one. They also stated that the upper portion of my cocktail table had not arrived at their facility. I had been reading lots of negative posts on sites like this about bassett so I was not going to mess around with them. I told them I was just going to cancel the order.
So, i called bassett & spoke to the woman, Tanya, who sold me my furniture. She informs me that any furniture ordered from the factory is NON-REFUNDABLE! what? I paid in full! what a crock of crap!

After expressing my frustration, Tanya offered to let me "borrow" her credenza and cocktail ottoman off of her floor, she would deliver it today. I asked her to double check to make sure they were in good condition...she just called back to inform me that the factory DID in fact have the entire cocktail table and it will be here tomorrow. The credenza will be delivered today...we'll see what kind of condition they are in when they get here...who knows what will come on the truck tomorrow...or when I will get my actual furniture...

Bassett Furniture Industries you may never get your furniture

I am still waiting on an item ordered March 1, it is now June 7. After an amazing amount of delay and grief I finally got a partial order. This time they said they received the wrong item for one of my beds. That was early May, still waiting to hear when the correct one will arrive. Also a couch was stained when delivered, although the delivery company took photos and logged the stain, I have not heard a word from Basset about a cleaning or repair. Do not buy furniture from these people. A call to Bassett HQ informed me that some stores are franchised so even they can do nothing to insure customer satisfaction.

Bassett Furniture Industries incredibly poor customer service!

[My letter to the Executive VP of Operations, Keith Sanders is attached below for ease - our complaints are clearly marked. We purchased this furniture New Years' weekend, 2006.]

Dear Mr. Sanders:

On or about August 31st we mailed the attached letter to your CEO Robert Spilman, Jr. in which we outlined several complaints which arose through the extraordinarily poor service we have received from the Polaris Basset location. These complaints, clearly stated in that letter, included the following:

1) Our order was not complete over eight months after placing and paying for it (a custom two piece sectional sofa, chair, three end tables and a credenza).

2) We were not notified of the status of our order despite repeated phone calls inquiring into why our delivery was far past the outer limits of the delivery range promised to us.

3) 1 ½ months after our furniture was promised to us, we received a damaged credenza.

4) We were not contacted in regard to how the credenza would be replaced. Only after numerous calls was a repairman sent out – despite our pleas that repair would not be possible.

5) After the repairman’s instantaneous declaration that the damage could not be replaced, we again received no contact from Bassett. Again, we had to waste our time to simply get non-damaged furniture. Again, we had to wait six more weeks, and again, we were not notified of the status of our order.

6) We feel that the “pilling” of the chaise fabric is excessive, and it took numerous calls and trips to the Polaris location to get a replacement.

7) The rear pillow of the chaise is crushed.

8) We received the wrong replacement materials from customer service manager Carmen Griffin at the Polaris store, indicating her lack of attention and concern for our complaints, and requiring yet another trip to the Polaris location.

9) Upon my wife’s final trip to Polaris to pick up the replacement chaise cover, she was rudely ignored by salesperson Alicia Kuhn, and Carmen flat-out lied and said she had never heard of our complaint about the chaise pillows.

10) We still do not have a replacement chaise pillow, we fully expect our furniture to fall apart further, and our experience with Bassett has been a nightmare all around.

In your letter of September 20th, 2007 you asked us to “advise if you are not completely satisfied with the results”. It would be obvious to you if you had read our original letter that simply receiving a replacement chaise cover would not make us “completely satisfied”. We have received poor service all around, and still do not have quality furniture.

We have sent a copy of this correspondence to all parties involved. We are tired of working harder than Bassett does in order to receive what we have paid for. We have not received anywhere near what we have paid for, and we deserve financial compensation for receiving poor product and being put through this ordeal. If Bassett cares about the level of service provided to customers, we expect that this letter will be read thoroughly this time, and a thoughtful response and offer will be forthcoming within two weeks of this date.

[Several weeks later we received a letter from Mr. Sanders stating that he understood the problems to be resolved because new pillows were ordered for us. None of our other complaints or dissatisfaction was addressed in any fashion by anyone from Bassett, and over 1 year after the purchase, we still do not have a satisfactory set of furniture. Proceed with caution.]

Thanks for the warning. I also purchased some items, was overcharged, but felt better about purchasing because I talked them down b/c it was the last day of the year and they were trying to move inventory. However, it took forever to get my items, they were supposed to be new in the box, but they came off the floor (store display). I didn't make a big deal about it because I didn't find out about it until about 2 weeks later (my husband was the one at home when they delivered and he didn't mention that they weren't packaged). I also decided not to make a big deal out of it because I had cancelled a office cabinet that they sold me. It took so long for my order to come, that I did some more research on the office cabinet that I thought was nice in the store, and found out it was originally a china cabinet that they were trying to convert into a computer cabinet. Rechecked the measurements and found out my computer tower wouldn't fit. so I evaded that nightmare, but I was still looking for another computer cabinet with them. Think I will look elsewhere now. Didn't know so many people had problems with them. Glad I found this site.

They are horrible! Their delivery service would only provide us a two hour window (when I am at work--Wednesday afternoon) and don't deliver after 6pm!

The sales person said they would be flexible! HA! and we can't cancel our order because it is "custom"--but EVERYTHING is custom there! Go elsewhere!

I was seriously considering shopping here for a living room sofa, I will not go there now. Thankyou for posting this and other complaints. Shame on them,

Totally agree! We bought the Custom Dining furniture from Bassett Direct in August of 07 and we are still trying to get it right and furniture is almost paid for. We got the ebony finish, they must have a filthy paint booth/factory or something. There are air bubbles in paint, and runs, not to mention other things and we are on round two with the product. We bought ours from Klopfenstein Homerooms. The customer service rep we are now dealing with is horrible! The one we started with is no longer there and she was nice, probabaly why she is no longer there? I keep passing the complaint around between the furniture store locally and Bassett furniture in Virginia. They will make you jump through hoops like circus monkeys, it's not worth it. Go somewhere else. Ethan Allen sales reps can explain the tota making of their furniture. From start to finish. I wish we would have started there!

Bassett Furniture Industries overcharged!

We paid for upgraded filling and our furniture is so hard it hurts our behinds when we sit on it. It is incredibly uncomfortable. They promised us they would 'make it right' and told us new filling was ordered. We called about 6 weeks later to check status. Filling was never ordered. They went back on their word. They actually suggested it was just 'firm' because 'it was new.' They said someone would come to the house to see if they thought it was too firm - a month after they agreed it was too firm! Next time I will get everything in writing - live and learn. I did not think I needed to do that with a reputable company like Bassett. However, we found out after our purchase it is NOT a corporate store, it is a franchise (like 7-11!). Buyer Beware - stay away from Bassett Furniture in Henderson. I am hoping the corporate headquarters will intervene on my behalf. I am waiting for them to contact me at this time. I will update this entry with any new developments 9positive or negative).

I placed a $7,000 order for new furniture at the Bassett Henderson, Nevada store. The order was placed in September 2007. I was told delivery take 4 to 6 weeks. Our table and chairs, delivered just before Thanksgiving, arrived with the wrong fabric on the seat cushions--the quality of the set was fine. (The table and chairs had already arrived at the warehouse and I begged to have them delivered for Thanksgiving before the rest of the furniture was received. ) After lots of going back and forth with the store manager and customer service in California, the new seat cushions with the correct fabric were received finally on Jan. 25, 2008. With regard to the bedroom furniture, we'll be on our third round of furniture delivery since December 2007. Each piece delivered has been damaged (cracks, scratches, dents, uneven doors). Since we'd ordered an armoire, we've had to connect and disconnect the TV, DVR box, etc. After the last failed delivery, we just gave up and just plugged the TV in. We are so disappointed with the quality of the furniture--I thought Bassett was a high-end furniture store, not a used furniture store. It irks me that the Bassett store's attitude with the exception of our sales person (I insisted that either the store manager or sales person be present for delivery), thinks that the furniture doesn't have to be perfect. We were told when we signed the contract that the furniture would be perfect, as it should be for the prices Bassett charges. The store is trying to work things out with us and we're keeping our fingers crossed that this last furniture delivery will be successful. If not, all the furniture goes back and I'm demanding a full refund. Buyer beware of Bassett!

Bassett Furniture Industries undelivered furniture, poor communication

I only wish I had found this web site and read other complaints before I ordered my furniture.
Ordered furniture on 6/25/07- took picture of the sofa I wanted into the sales rep ([picture was taken from the Bassett website). Paid at that time.
9/4/07- I called sales rep to see why the furniture had not yet been ordered, was told they were "going to call me" to let me know the fabric had been discontinued.
9/8/07- reordered fabric.
10/9/07- furniture delivered- was not anywhere close to what the picture I showed the sales rep was like. I wanted a curved sectional- this was a very long straight sofa.
11/3/07- spoke with a store manager since I had not heard about delivery. He referred the call to the original sales rep who said he "would look into it"
11/13/07- had not heard from the sales rep. I called him- he stated "I was just getting ready to call you"- the sofa arms had been discontinued and would not match the loveseat arms (that was the only part of the order that had been correct when the furniture was orginally delivered). Had to reorder the loveseat and sofa with different arms so they would match.

Had I not already painted the living room to match the furniture, I would cancel the order. I will never deal with this company again.

I gave my wife $800.00 to buy a dinnette. She spent $1300.00 at Bassett on Aug. 23rd 2017. It is now Nov. 9th 2017, and I'm still eating standing at my kitchen counter.
The manager had tried to explain that there are no cancellations on the order. That is unacceptable in my book. As a man growing up in Boston there is no excuse for time line delays of 3 months. She then told me she'd work a discount for me due to the wait (all this over a month of phone calls of me demanding my money back). I told her to come with something serious, and specifically said don't call me with some piddly $100 bucks. So she called with 113.86... Are you SERIOUS?!? This has gone on long enough, and they don't know when to accept there losses. Never use this company as they are just bad business. They survive by getting over on people like my wife who apparently lack the street smarts to know they're getting ripped. I'll be going in today to get my cash or take it from someone's back side!

Bassett Furniture, Louisville, Kentucky
Purchased Elway Leather Reclining Sofa & Love Seat on 7-4-09, received it on 8-1-09. It is the biggest mess I have ever seen. I had ordered a dark burgandy & between the sections, it is lined with a bright white fabric. REALLY shows up on the dark leather. Each piece to the sofa & love seat will not stay together. Finally men came out on 9-9-09 to hook it all back together & it now has all come apart again. On the back of the end of the sofa, the leather has been pulled too tight & there is a big hole you see in the back of the sofa. REALLY is ugly. I wish I had never bought it. I called the Manager & asked for my money back, he said NO. I asked if they would take this back & we would come into his store & pick out something that would be the same amout on money, he said NO. Now he said that a repair man would come out to fix the bright white that shows & put the furniture back together but he will have to charge us a service charge. NO WAY-- He said it would only be about $30.00. Well, I thought maybe if he can get the white covered with black & the furniture put back together, maybe $30.00 would be OK. Well, the man called & told me it would be a $65.00 charge for the first hour. I told him NO WAY. It is now October 2nd, & I still have not heard from anyone. My home is new & open & now this ugly, really bad furniture is sitting in my beautiful great room & it is very ashamed for anyone to come in my home & see this furniture. Basset of Louisville does not stand behind there furniture. They take your money & leave you very unhappy. This is the worst place I have ever dealt with. They really don't care what your furniture looks like or how bad it is made. Just get your money & end of story. I would never go back in Bassett & would tell anyone I know how they do business.
Please help me get my money back. I really want to get this furniture out of my house. I can remember the good old days, where a furniture store wanted the customer to be happy & the furniture store would take pride in what they sell. Well, not anymore. This furniture looks like it came from a flee market & Bassett has not heard the end of this from me. I will keep on trying or get a lawyer.

I hope this is printed so people that live in Louisville, Kentucky knows how bad Bassett Furniture is here also.
