Chrysler 2017 Dodge Durango RT

On June 1 2021 I delivered my 2017 Dodge Durango to the Carson City Dodge dealer because of a 'ticking' sound coming from the engine. It turned out to be a leaking head gasket. We purchased the Durango at Reno Dodge in Reno Nevada by ordering it in 2016. It has been one of the best cars we have ever had. The Service department called to say that the RT had a leaking head gasket that had to be replaced. I was surprised so I researched it on line and was surprised to find that the exact same sound and problem was being reported in 2016. We had purchased the Dodge Lifetime Warranty so we weren't too concerned. The service agent said that he had submitted the claim to Dodge which required a Dodge company representative to approve the claim before Carson Dodge could begin work. He also said that he could not locate a head gasket which would prevent the repair and he had no idea when he could get the gasket. We are surprised that we were not notified by Dodge of this problem since it has been reported on the internet as being a problem in 2016. It's been a week and we haven't heard anything and we are getting concerned as we have a vacation planned for the first of July and will need our Durango.

Desired outcome: The desired outcome is for Dodge corp to locate a gasket and get it to the Carson Dodge Dealer in time for our vacation within the next three weeks.

I'm sure no one cares but I still have to say this. I'm a 75 year old senior. I've waited for years to be able to get a keep compass I had a 2019 Buick but it didn't have a tailgate lift and I have a bar in my neck so to difficult for me to reach also the trunk area was way to small for my dogs so I decided to see if I'd qualify for a jeep. Chrysler Chrysler cares department

My 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybird was bought in October 2020 from Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep. In November on my first gas fill up I found my gas tank was faulty (Would not allow gas in. Taken to dealer who ended up replacing my new vehicles gas tank Chrysler care #[protected]. During the gas tank replacement my bumper was damaged. The dealer was to replace the bumper but instead patched the bumper. I went through the dealer and my case manager Paige. Finally the dealer agreed to fix my bumper and the dealer was to put a new bumper on replacing the damaged patched bumper as this vehicle was new when the damage occurred. Months have gone by without the dealer contacting me. I have tried 3 times to call Paige leaving voice mails to get help to no avail. The last call I received from Paige was March 29th. I spoke to Amanda on 5/14/21 to find out the case was closed to my surprise with no contact with me. I asked Amanda for a supervisor to talk to. She said she would forward my compliant to a supervisor to call me. Again I have not heard from anyone. Can someone help I bought a 52000 dollar vehicle and this is the way you treat your customers Chrysler seems not to care period! You can email me at [protected]@verizon.net.

Desired outcome: Have the new Bumper that was promised by the dealer install.

Chrysler Windshield

Purchased a used 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The windshield has 2 small cracks in it. They have been epoxied so they really don't bother me. I do believe though that they were caused by the install because they come from the edge in on both of them and they look like stress cracks. Anyways on to the main problem. The windshield has a wavy look almost all over it. It is very bad in front of the drivers side. I will add photos to show you what I mean. I am wondering if this is the original windshield, and if it is why was it installed? It is bad enough in some spots that sometimes you can't read road signs at a distance. I want to know if this is a factory problem or if it is an insurance problem?

Desired outcome: Windshield needs to be replaced.

Chrysler Lifetime Warranty

On March 22nd our 2007 Chrysler Pacific broke down when traveling between Rock Hill, SC, and Roanoke Virginia. It was towed to a repair shop in Roanoke, VI where they told us the transmission stopped working and that this issue would be covered under the warranty on the vehicle. We contacted Chrysler to inquire what the procedure was to resolve the issue. The Executive Referrals Manager, Mike MacDonald, first told us since we didn't get the ten-year inspection completed on the vehicle the warranty expired.

After proving to him that when we had it inspected at 5 years we were told by the Chrysler dealership that there was nothing further that needed to be done to keep the warranty active. Mr. MacDonald then said if we had the vehicle towed to a dealership they would need to complete the inspection and then he would "reinstate" the warranty. In addition, we were also required to provide him the maintenance work that we had completed on the car thru the years, which we did. At our expense, we had the vehicle towed on April 2nd, 2020 to the dealership. With Mr. MacDonald coordinating with the dealership it took them almost three weeks to complete the inspection. Mr. MacDonald called us on April 22nd after the inspection was completed at the dealership and told us the dealership said the vehicle also had engine damage and due to the price of the repairs outweighing the value he placed on the car that he was not going to reinstate the warranty. The vehicle had a thorough inspection completed by our mechanic in January 2021 and there was no engine damage as well as a second mechanic when the initial problem surfaced who also did not indicate any engine damage. We called the dealership on 4/26/2021 and the repair manager told us he would be unable to tell if there was any engine damage until after the transmission was repaired as the vehicle would not turn on, so the statement of there being engine damage was false. I am confident the "loophole" of stating the repairs outweigh the value of the car does not exist in the warranty that was issued for our year and make model. Furthermore, I can assure you the value to us is higher than the $500 value Mr. MacDonald has placed on the car. The dealership said the cost of the transmission repairs would between $2, 500-2, 900. Mr. MacDonald told me the lifetime warranty on the car did not mean for the lifetime that we owned the vehicle. I told him myself as well as the least sophisticated consumer would understand the word "lifetime" to stand for a lifetime! The following website, Mopar Lifetime Extended Warranty - backed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles(FCA). (chryslerwarrantys.com), clearly states that this warranty was one of the first of its kind when offered on the [protected] models and that lifetime stood for "lifetime" as long as we owned the car and there were no stipulations that the repairs had to be within a certain dollar amount. The frustration with this ordeal is that first, we purchased this vehicle for the lifetime warranty that was advertised, and under no circumstances were we made aware that the guidelines/requirements on the warranty had changed. In addition, Mr. MacDonald's intentions as he expressed were to always reinstate the warranty and have the work completed. His tune changed when he decided that he could escape from responsibility stating the cost outweighed the value. We want and expect our warranty to be valid and for Chrysler to complete the required work under the warranty.

Desired outcome: We want and expect our warranty to be valid and for Chrysler to complete the required work under the warranty plus cover any cost we have inquired for towing and inspection of vehichle.

1 thing about your complaint doesn't set right. You say the mechanic was unable to diagnose engine damage because he could not crank it due to the transmission being damage. There are many types of engine damage that can be diagnosed by simply standing around the engine looking at it. Drain the oil and you will likely see metal pieces fall out if there is any internal damage. I think you misunderstood when he said he'd reinstate the warranty. Usually reinstatement only happen before damage occurs not after when a consumer might have forgotten an inspection but because it was realized before damage occurred they will reinstate the warranty. It sounds like he was willing to reinstate the warranty if the damage was minor and an inspection wouldn't have caught the damage.

Chrysler Initial factory release of vehicle (quality control)

Purchased a 2020 RAM Big Horn in September of 2020. The vehicle has 7800 miles on it currently. Took it to Florida from November 2020 to March 2021. When we returned, we heard a noise coming from the front end when a right or left turn is made at slow speeds. Took it in to the local Dodge dealership where they could not diagnose te problem. They called Chrysler for advice and was told to check the differential for anti-slip fluid. It was determined that this fluid was not present in the rear differential from the factory. They added the fluid which fixed the problem but my concern is the quality control at the factory level for letting it go out with the required fluids.

Chrysler Excessive Charge for removing security lug nuts that came with the 2017 Pacifica Limited I purchased new

Brought my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica in for tire rotation about April 10th. When they tried to remove the security lug nuts from my tires the adaptor "key" was broken in the attempt. They subsequently tried two more of their own and broke both of those in the attempt, although they were able to remove one of the security lug nuts. since they had no more security lug nut keys they asked me return at a later date.

At this point my request was to just remove the security lug nuts all together and replace them with the regular lug nuts that were in the package when I bought the car new. My problem with this is the regular lug nuts come off just fine but the way these security lug nuts were made the "key" gets stripped rather easily.

Now they are drilling out the entire security lug not and bolt to remove it and then replace the bolt and attach the regular lug nut.

My problem is I've been quoted a cost of $770 to remove 3 security lug nuts this way since I have no alternative, I need a car, I'll be paying for it. To in any way describe this as fair, would be difficult, if not impossible. How can it be that the regular lug nuts are removal, but the security lug nuts, even with the proper "Key", are NOT!

I think a charge of $770 to remove these is totally unreasonable. All I want to have is the ability to remove my wheels so they can be rotated, there is no other problem with these except the security lug nuts that came with the car new when I bought it "new" from Anderson Chrysler

Desired outcome: A reasonable charge - which would be under $100

Chrysler Services/repairs

Hi,

I am active duty military and am in the process of moving from North Carolina to Alaska. Prior to moving, I had an oil leak and after consulting with Lee Chrysler in Wilson, NC I decided to have it repaired. They informed me that it was my rear main seal. During repairs I received a call saying that my front seal was also leaking. I informed them to go ahead and fix that as well if it was needed and they did so. I dropped the vehicle off for repairs on Monday 12 April 2021. I picked my truck up the following day (Tuesday). Upon arrival to the dealership I saw my truck was parked in the grass and not in the parking lot fully. I thought that was odd but blew it off. I took my truck home and imediately, within 30 seconds of parking in my driveway, noticed the truck was leaking more than ever before. I called Lee Chrysler and informed them of this. The soonest I could get back in to them was Thursday 15 April 2021 because we had an appointment the following day to drop my wife's car off in Virginia in order to have it shipped to Alaska. I dropped the truck off Thursday morning at 0800 hrs. They provided a rental so we could run errands and get our kids to/from school while they inspected the leak. After four hours I received a call stating that the repairs they had performed were "bone dry" and the leak was now coming from my oil pan. They also said the reason it appeared to be leaking more than before was because fixing the two leaks increased the pressure on the third leak but I wasn't actually losing any more oil than before. They informed me that they did not have the part to fix the new leak and they knew I was leaving town the next morning to drive to Alaska. I told them there is nothing I can do because there was no time to fix the oil pan leak. They informed me that I should just keep and eye on the oil level and have the oil pan gasket replaced when I get to Alaska. I trusted them and left.

The next morning my family and I hit the road. When we stopped for fuel approximately 400 miles down the road I noticed that my entire truck and trailer were covered in oil. I then checked my oil level to find that there was absolutely no oil on the dipstick! I added 1.5 gallons to get it back in the safe mark. I then had to stop every 100 miles in order to add oil so I could limp our way through the night and get to a dealership in Texas somewhat close to my parent's house. We drove straight through the night very slowly and went straight to Glenn Polk Chrysler in Gainesville, TX.

I was greeted and helped by Randy. He was in shock at how much oil I was loosing. Him and the tech stayed late on a Saturday to help me figure out what was going on. I told them it was the oil pan because that is what Lee Chrysler told me. Within 30 seconds of looking at the vehicle I was told that it in fact was not my oil pan at all but instead was my front timing cover. When I called Lee Chrysler about the issue they denied everything and said it was good when I left their shop. I had no choice but to schedule repairs with Glenn Polk so that I could get back on the road ASAP. They said they would move some vehicles around and get me in. The tech at Glenn Polk said there was no way for him to say for certain what caused the front timing cover to be leaking but that the repairs that Lee Chrysler performed 100% could have disturbed that gasket because the bolts go through both parts.
I brought the truck in to Glenn Polk to be repaired on Monday 19 April 2021 for repairs. At end of day Tuesday 20 April I was called and told that the repairs were complete however, there was another huge leak coming from the rear main. They asked me what repairs had been done by the NC dealership. I told them and they informed me that the part was leaking extremely bad and in order to do that repair it requires my transmission and starter be removed. They took my starter off by hand because the bolts were extremely loose. They also informed me that my oil pan was not leaking and appeared to be solid. They informed me that the rear main was being covered by warranty and I would not incurr any further costs beyond the front cover repairs performed on Tuesday. The dealership in NC was informed of this and is still saying it is not their fault and that is sounds "fishy" to them.
This morning I received a call from Glenn Pold informing me of all the problems they are finding during repairs. So far they have found 2 loose bolts and 1 missing bolt on my starter, 3 loose nuts on my transfer case and the rear main seal was not installed correctly at all. They also said my heater hose was leaking and it didn't make sense why Lee Chrysler did not inform me of that while they were already in there making repairs beside the hose. I am being told it is the absolute worst workmanship they have ever seen! Randy told me they have never seen so many missing/ loose parts on any one vehicle ever.
I can not begin to describe how mad I am over this as you can understand. The very same day that Lee Chrysler finished my repairs I informed them that it was leaking much worse than before. Then I was told that their repairs were bone dry and that my oil pan was now leaking due to them repairing the other leaks. All of this being said with them knowing I was leaving town the next morning to drive all the way to ALASKA! Now I am being told by another dealership that NONE of that is true at all and my oil pan is not leaking at all! How is this acceptable? How can they do that to a customer and send them on their way and then say its not their fault and it was good when they looked at it? It clearly shows they were lying to cover up their mistakes! And now I am stranded with my family for and extra 4 days and having to pay an extra $2300 in repairs due to their mistakes!

I truely hope this gets resolved and anybody can see that Lee Chrysler messed up big time and tried to cover it up which has caused me extreme hardships!

Chrysler DIAGNOSE NO FUEL PUMP- work not performed

On the 6th of April i sent my 2005 Durango to the Waynesbore CDJR in Waynesboro, Ga. Explained that it had an intermittent start no start. On the 7th i called and was told they left a message, when inquired they had called a wrong number, i corrected the number and was told they need 3 more hours of diagnosing time. I called on the 9th and was told the left message again to wrong number they stated it was a broken ground wire and it had been repaired and that the were loose connection to the fuel pump relay. I had my daughter go pay for the bill and pick up key. My daughter went to start the car, it was dead.. i returned on the 11th drove my car on the 12th, 13th and on the 14th only 2 and a half days of driving the no start condition was back, i called the service center, they stated to bring it in, in mean time i called to get it towed the person that came to help asked if heard fuel pump, he slid under car said he did not hear pump, as he slid out he asked if i had looked un my car he then proceeded to show me a wire coming from the top of my fuel tank that had been stripped and wrapped around a bolt on my frame without a terminal end.. i brought it to the dealer to which i was told that wasn't done by their tech, asked to speak to GM he stated he was.. below you will see the fuel tank wire wrapped on the bolt and the bottom of the relay wire, none of which were fixed. Very shoddy service. i work at a local shop we do a lot of custom work on jeeps, engine swaps, restorations, custom fab work, transmission rebuild, I will be posting my experience on our Facebook page and with all the jeep groups locally that i deal with so they can avoid this same situation...this is a shame as our jeep group was asked to attend the open house and the company im at built RTI ramp for the festivities that day/

Complained several times about a leak in the windshield fluid tank, since the day we bought it and was always told no leak. Chrysler automatic transmissions without dipstick!!!!!!!

not putting a dipstick on automatic transmissions istotally unethical in my opinion. theycall these newer units "sealed", which is fine for new owners, but anything leaks after enough time. and for owners of older vehicles, it's a total ripoff to have to go to a dealer just to check a fluid that should be able to be checked by the user. I understand chrysler is not the only manufacturer to do this, and it really ticks me off, and should bug the hell out of anyone who owns older vehicles. cars have had easy access to fluid level checks forever, and to now design without one is really just another consumer ripoff. 70 to 100 dollars just to check a fluid! ripoff

Desired outcome: put the sticks back and try not so hard to stick it to car owners

Chrysler 2013 Town and Country minivan

On March 31, 2021, I put my car in park and was readying myself to get out and enter a store. I leaned over to put on my masks and was alarmed to find that my vehicle had moved forward into the rear of another vehicle. I didn't really feel it moving, so I had no idea until it had rolled into the car in front of me. Earlier this week, I heard a squeeky noise while driving for a short period of time, but then it disappeared. I have had other problems with the electrical, passenger headrest deploying, exterior trim blowing off and rear gate failing to open. A couple of times, the gear did not seem to properly shift, but this is the first time that it has moved on its own. The damage to my vehicle and the other vehicle was slight since the car was not moving at a great speed and was stopped before traveling a great distance, but a car suddenly taking off on its own is quite dangerous. I have less than 50, 000 miles on my vehicle.

Sounds like the brake pads are shot. Most brake pads only last for 40 000 miles. That squeaking sound was likely the metal scrapper on the pads scrapping against the rotor. The metal scrapper is there for just that purpose so that when you start hearing the squeaking you know that you only have a little time to get them replaced.

Chrysler 2021 RAM 3500

I ordered a new 2021 RAM 3500 on September 11, 2020. Here it is March 24, 2021 and I still don't have the vehicle that I ordered. I was thinking of replacing my 2012 Dodge Durango R/T in 2023 with a new luxury SUV. With this experience with Chrysler, I may look elsewhere for a new vehicle. My complaint is not against the dealership. My complaint is against Chrysler.

Desired outcome: Where's the vehicle that I ordered over 6 months ago?

Chrysler 2018 chrysler pacifica mini van

I have owned a 2016 and 2018 Pacifica. About to take delivery of a 2021. My 2018 has been in the shop three times due to "electrical" problems. Car features will randomly stop working, you can not start car or put in any gear. Sometimes you can not get car to turn off. Battery was replaced and still doing it. Went to shop yesterday as car would not start. After 30 minutes it started. Side doors will randomly open. Check engine light comes on. Radio acts up. I have read of numerous electrical issues with the 2016-2018 Pacifica's. Some just stop running on the highway and power steering is lost. I am about to drive from Houston to Dallas by myself and I am afraid to drive my Pacifica. That's if it is out of shop in time!

I am not convinced that Gillman Chrysler dealer in Houston knows how to fix this issue. I suspect they will put in a new battery and send me on my way. Since I have read 100's of the same compliant, what is the fix? Can you tell my dealer where car is currently? I feel the car in general is unsafe to drive. I forced the dealer to give me a loaner car this time. Last time I had to pay to rent a car.

Chrysler Ram 1500 Limited 2019

Non disclosure of Ram unresolved issue with steering noise when turning right at low speeds. Asked dealer before taking it in. They indicated that there wasn't any Ram reported issue. Set an appointment and rented a car for March 8th. Had an extended warranty with LDS for 85, 000 mile valid until 2026. I was informed by Bergeron that I would be responsibe for a $135 check out fee if it was found that the issue wasn't under warranty. Altogether between Bergeron charging $202.50 and car rental of more than $200 to find that Ram hasn't been able to resolve the issue and that i would have to pay for the services and car rental. This is unacceptable to me and if Ram is unable to resolve this I am going to engage the BBB.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement of expenses and resolve the issue with my steering column noise.

Chrysler 2014 dodge charger left front cylinder 2 misfire

So we recently noticed we were getting a check engine light on our car 4 months ago, so we took it into a dealer and they changed the spark plugs and told us it was all good, engine warning light was gone (148000km). 3 weeks ago the warning engine light has since come back so we took the car back to a shop with same issue again. Misfire on cylinder 2 once again. So the shop did a quick test by switching the 1, 2 coil packs around to see if it would follow. It however did not, still cylinder 2 miss fire. So that is as far as the shop got to checking this problem out. The cost of labor to preform a leak down test was too much and changing out the cylinder, if that is the problem was going to be a $4000 expence. The shop told us that this is a very systemic problem with earlier models and that it could be affecting ours as well. From all the reading I have done I have come to conclude this is a design flaw with that cylinder and a proper recall should have been made. I am a very proud owner of this car but I think this was a problem from day one with this 3.6 lt engine that was ignored. I can tell you I am not very happy.

Desired outcome: There was a extended warranty, recall on this part that extended to 150000km that should have been on all the 3.6 lt engines and not just the [protected]

Chrysler Warping door panels

Leased a Chrysler 300S AWD in Sept. 2017 for 39 month/49000. The sales rep. at Lafontaine Chrylser, Jeremy Becklehamer, suggested I purchase an extended warranty to cover the vehicle after the manufacturer (36 month/36000) warranty expired so I did MOPAR maximum care. Mid-summer 2020 I noticed my door panels were warping and rising up, like the glue holding the top edge had failed. This happened to both the front passenger and rear passenger side doors. I didn't think too much about it because the vehicle was being turned in in a few months and I'd just have it taken care of then.

I returned the vehicle a week early to have this addressed. A few days later my sales rep called and told me this is a cosmetic problem and is not covered under my extended warranty. I was furious! This isn't as much cosmetic as it's a defective material/design...I started looking online and guess what? 1000's of customers are, or have had the same problem. FCA-US has been selling 3 models of vehicles with this design flaw since 2015. I called MOPAR to ask about coverage, a 'RUDE' individual at MOPAR, accused me of doing this. He said "I have friends that own the same vehicle and this hasn't happened to their cars" and he's never heard of this problem.

After getting UPSET with my sales rep. for selling me a warranty that doesn't cover the vehicle like he said, I got a call from the dealerships Service Manager, Derek Smith, He went to the lot and inspected the vehicle and told me the leasing company won't even notice "don't worry about it". Well, they did notice and now US bank is charging me almost $800 to fix this door panel. I'm also going to report US BANK for price gouging... an issue with the other door has a chip out of a plastic trim piece (OEM part cost $73) and they say it costs $965 for a markup roughly of 864%. WOW!

My overall experience= POOR from all. NOT buying/leasing a Chrysler (or any FCA) cars again; This was my 4th and last purchase from LaFontaine Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM in Fenton, Michigan; I will never use US BANK for any of my financial needs. After doing more research I've found a Class action lawsuit filed Sept 10, 2020 against FCA-US for this, over 30 pages of people with the same problem.

Desired outcome: Chrysler replace the door panels
