Sun Room was started in Nov 2024 and sat, unfinished, until Apr 2025. The original install team, including the lead and supervisor, failed at every level. The deck was not square, 4 inches off, was not level — from 1 inch to 1 3/4 inches off on the ledger horizontally. The deck was also more than 1 5/8 reverse flow, towards the house, East to West. The flooring was put in parallel to the joists. The walls were not square, were not level or plumb, which caused the windows to not be square. The roof was not sealed, there was a 2 inch gap, caused by a failure to attach sun room roof to house. They cut the trusses and bearing wall gussets. There was damage, dents, scratches, missing screws, damage to the frames and no treated wood on the bottom. The joists, all but two, on a 11x20 room, were more than 1/2 inch, on both sides of the joist, not in the hanger. The nails used were interior nails and had rusted by the time of the raising of the sun room. The new crew, corrected all the problems, had to sister the trusses and squared the room... all in all they did a good job (however, neither job was completed under the contract). Now, a month after the room was complete, a heavy rain and I had a stream flowing through the sun room — the entire South portion of the roof, around the chimney was leaking, the exterior wall was also leaking in the H rails — the water was running down the electrical conduit into/on to the outlet box. It has been a complete nightmare with Champion — they have been paid in full and I have a leaking roof. Which means, the water could also be leaking into the interior walls. The water damage the new floor I put in and I have to deal with Champion, once again, due to their failure of an install. Having to deal with this horrid company is like having a continual nightmare you cannot wake from. The only effective way to correct these issues is to sue them for breach of contract, both of them, failure of proper installation, damage to home and damages for all the stress they have caused. Site does not allow pictures and I have 8 gigs worth.
