CarShield did not honor my contract. I paid faithfully for years with the expectation that if my vehicle ever broke down, repairs would be covered. That turned out not to be the case. My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee overheated during extreme Arizona heat. I immediately parked the vehicle and had it towed — it was never driven while overheating. Despite following the contract requirements, CarShield and its administrator, American Auto Shield, denied my claim, blaming me for “neglect.”
They also refused to send an inspector after the vehicle was transferred to another shop, even though the contract specifically provides for inspection. This left me without a fair evaluation of my claim. In addition, CarShield failed to provide a rental vehicle, which the policy clearly states should be provided during repairs.
As a result, I have been without my Jeep for well over a month while still making loan and insurance payments on a car I cannot use. CarShield offered me only a partial settlement that does not come close to covering the repair costs and required me to sign away my rights.
Consumers need to know that CarShield’s promises of “peace of mind” are misleading. They did not honor my contract and left me stranded with no support.
Claimed loss: Shift blaming accusing me when i have solid proof. Over $8000 paid to them over duration of policy. Hours of time and pure frustration that I can’t get back. For me the insult to my character was by far my biggest loss.
Desired outcome: I would like all of the people involved in the the Class Action Lawsuit to have Victory against this fraudulent company,
