CARS Protection Plus Denied warranty claims

I wish to file a complaint regarding the above claim. My contract # ACE336267 includes levels 1 through 3. The ABS is not fixed because CARS did not approve the LF axle seal but did approve the RF hub. ABS is stated under level 2 item iv. Therefore, there is still no traction control or ABS breaking which is still making the truck unsafe. The second item that was not approved was the manifold gasket, the oil pan gaskets and engine & transmission cooler lines, along with the replacement oil, which is stated under level 1 item i and item v and fluids under level 2 item vi.

Here is the breakdown of the items that should've been covered that I paid for:

1) Engine oil cooler lines $354.08

2) Transmission oil cooler lines $383.01

3) Oil pan gaskets $492.32

4) Oil replacement $84.47

For a total of $1,313.88 that I have paid to McGrath Chevrolet of Dubuque Iowa. Service phone # 563.514.4868

The LF axle seal has not been replaced yet because it would've cost me $351.89 more than the $2,276.95 that I have already paid. The LF axle seal still needs to be done to completely fix the ABS that should be covered under this expensive warranty that I paid for when I purchased this truck.

Please verify receipt of this complaint.

Desired outcome: I would like an approval to do a warranty repair on the LF axle seal to complete the ABS repair. I would also like reimbursement for the $1,313.88 that I have already had to pay for that should've been covered.

CARS Protection Plus No returned calls to initiate a claim

I filed a claim on line on behalf of a car buyer who's warranty was included with the sale. Initially there was an attempt to file a claim for an axle issue that was never responded to over a three week period. That issue was repaired and there has been an ongoing effort to have it covered but CPP has never responded. Second was a new claim for an engine problem and in two weeks there has been no reply to either the customer or the repair shop. I have placed a minimum of 18 calls to Cars Protection Plus and have not been able to make contact once, including leaving messages with no return call. I have also filed the claims on line and emailed regarding each issue with no reply. Very poor customer service and communication.

Desired outcome: Resolve my customer's issues to their satisfaction.

CARS Protection Plus Cancelled Warranty Refund

I paid $1,300 for a warranty on July 13, 2022 and, after reading bad reviews, I cancelled the warranty on August 6, 2022. This is 25 days after I started the warranty and 5 days past when they give a full refund. They would not disclose the refund amount prior to me completed the cancellation form and receiving the check in the mail. They issued a refund of $1,000 and kept $300. This to me is criminal. They said there was a $50 fee and the rest would be prorated. How do they justify the prorated amount of $250 for a 2 year/30k mile warranty when I only had the warranty for 26 days/142 miles?

Desired outcome: Additional refund amount sent to me. Prorated is 25 days/ 720 days = 0.035 or 3.5%. 3.6% of $1,300 is $45. I should have received a total of $1,205 as a refund if prorated.

CARS Protection Plus aftermarket warranty

C.A. R. S Protection Plus is a scam for money. The people in this company are nothing but rude crooks who will try everything to avoid paying for repairs covered by their plans. The crazy amount of complaints made against them via the Better Business Bureau says it all, I wonder how they can still be in business. My personal experience with them started when I purchased a Subaru Outback in the year range of the well-know Subaru head gasket issue. At the time of the purchase the car had 80k miles, so close to when this head gasket issue is supposed to happen. The seller I bought the car from sold me this C.A. R. S Protection Plus Unlimited Mileage Value Plus warranty insisting head gasket replacement as well as many other parts were fully covered. Long story short, a few extra thousand miles later, the head gasket started to leak. I went to my Subaru dealership and they refused to deal with C.A. R. S mentioning they had troubles with them in the past. That and the fact it took us more than to weeks to find a mechanic willing to deal with them in a 35 miles radius should have been my first clue. The mechanic diagnosed a leak in the head gasket as well as a rack and pinion leak, both covered under my plan. Before starting any repairs, the mechanic followed protocol and contacted C.A. R. S to advise them of the issue and give them an estimate for parts and labour as well as sending them pictures. He was told that in order for the head gasket repair to be authorized he would need to completely tear down the engine, something he said was totally unnecessary as there was a significant and visible leak. When he tried to speak to the C.A. R. S stating it wasn't needed and would add exponential cost to me to what would already be an expensive repair, he was only met with grief and the C.A. R. S representative hung up on him several times. I personally contacted C.A. R. S after speaking with my mechanic only to have someone hang up on me too and when I tried calling back, I was put straight to the voicemail, although they were still supposed to be open for another 25 minutes. I called back the next week and after a long wait, I finally spoke to the receptionist who was clueless and transferred me to George (no last name, he refused to give it) who said he wasn't the one who dealt with this claim (Ed was the one, but again no last name and no one within C.A. R. S was willing to give me his last name). George told me the mechanic gave them no estimate. When I asked why the mechanic told me he told C.A. R. S the repairs would cost $2741 and Ed *no last name* told him C.A. R. S would pay up to $1161 after the $100, he said that was a lie. George was adamant that they would never give any payment estimate without the faults being clearly diagnosed even though they told the mechanic another story and gave him numbers. He said C.A. R. S might cover up to five hours of labour for tear down depending on proof of diagnosis from the mechanic. When I asked what happen if they decide that the tear down does not demonstrate definitive proof of a head gasket leak, I was told that they would cover nothing and I would be responsible for the full cost of tear down and re-assembly. At this point, I ended the call and contacted the mechanic to authorize him to officially open the claim for the rack and pinion repair. The mechanic wasted three days on fruitless talks with C.A. R. S that ended up nowhere as they kept hanging up at him. All this resulted in him no longer willing to deal with them as he lost a lot of time due to all this nonsense. I'm now in a position of needing two significant repairs but cannot find any mechanic willing to deal with this company. I feel like I've been sold a useless product and have wasted my money on a total scam. I have now started a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau! These crooks should be out of business! Do not buy any warranty from them, they will try anything to not honour their part of the contract!

CARS Protection Plus Denying valid claim

I am a 20 yr old woman and student at Clemson University, I live off campus and drive about 30 miles one way to get to class everyday. I drive another 15 miles the opposite way to go to work. So when I found this cute little red convertible VW bug with less than 100k miles on it, I was estatic! Until 3 weeks later when the Valve Body went bad. After filing my claim with CARS Protection Plus with my 3 month/4, 500 mile warranty, I thought for certain they would be true to their warranties. Nope. Do not EVER purchase a warranty through this company. They have denied my claim stating that it was a "pre-existing issue". I test drove the car, my parents test drove the car, and I drove the car for 3 weeks before the valve body went bad, this is ridiculous. Now I will have to pay for a new VW valve body and repair! I am a student, I do not have that kind of money laying around! If I knew this condition existed before I bought the car I clearly would not have bought the car.

CARS Protection Plus Extended warranty

Robert or Ross McCall, you are full of crap and to make 2 comments in row claiming to be 2 different people but yet having the same AWEFUL SPELLING in each one tells me your either a representative for the company or you got a kickback for filing a good comment. Just so you know I have been either an F&I Manager or F&I Director for over 13 years and all over the North East United States and NEVER have I ever seen such VAGUE WORDING when it comes to coverage. If you compare the CARS PROTECTION BROCHURE to a REAL REPUTIBLE EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT Brochure you will see it says either EXCLUSIONARY "bumper to bumper" coverage and that will list only the parts the AREN'T COVERED or a step down from EXCLUSIONARY COVERAGE, let's call it 5 Star Coverage for example and that 5 Star Coverage will list EVERY COMPONENT COVERED Under each separate main component, take for example it will say ENGINE and under that every part that is in the engine which is covered will be listed piece by piece ( IT WON'T SAY "INTERNAL LUBRICATED PARTS OF ENGINE" like CARS PROTECTION PLUS SAYS) that is WAY TO VAGUE AND DOESN'T TELL YOU WHAT THAT COVERS SO IT MAKES IT VERY EASY FOR CARS PROTECTION PLUS TO DENY A CLAIM. This warranty company is a scam in my eyes and VERY VERY SHADY SO PLEASE PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THIS WARRANTY COMPANY THEY WILL NOT BE AROUND MUCH LONGER BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT WILL FINE THEM HEAVILY AND SHUT THEM DOWN. If you have a complaint complain not only to the BBB but COMPLAIN TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL and that will stop them from ripping people off. If anyone has any questions for me I will be happy to help anyone so feel free to contact me. Hope everything works out for you all and make sure next time you research the company the warranty is through and make sure that if your not buying EXCLUSIONARY COVERAGE make sure the parts that are covered are listed INDIVIDUALLY AND SPECIFIC not vague like CARS PROTECTION PLUS DOES. Also most companies have more than one brochure when it comes to the different types of coverages because those warranties only cover LISTED COMPONENTS. Even CARS PROTECTION PLUS' so called "exclusionary warranty" ISN'T EXCLUSIONARY because instead of making a check mark across from a very VAGUE DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPONENT COVERED IT SHOULD SIMPLY SAY "exclusionary coverage" and list only the wear and tear items NOT COVERED because that list will BE MUCH SHORTER THAN THE LIST that list what is covered. So don't get scammed by these guys!

CARS Protection Plus Their products were like rubbish

The company Cars Protection Plus is big scam and all their items were terrible. I have bought from them, but all of them were in terrible condition. I called to the customer services and told that their items were like rubbish, but they told me nothing and stopped to hear my complaints. I decided to share my experience and hoped that it would be useful for other people.

CARS Protection Plus Warranty

For about a month we have had an open claim with CARS. When we initially opened the claim, the adjuster Frank was rude. He told us "don't you think you should just fix the car since you only sold it a month ago." Why on earth would we sell your product as a licensed auto dealer if we should pay for repairs after a vehicle is sold? The car ran perfect when we sold it. The customer took it on a long trip and it began overheating. The root cause is a blown intake gasket. Regardless, we followed Franks instructions. He advised us to have the vehicle ready for inspection. Several days later someone came out to inspect the vehicle. We had the failed parts available for inspection. The inspector did not bring his own jack to view under the vehicle. Ours was being used to support the engine of another vehicle that we were replacing gaskets in. I followed Franks instructions based on the conversation we had. Now CARS wants us to pay $110 to reinspect the vehicle because of this. I have reached out to my sales rep for help an have not yet received a call back with either positive or negative news. If I ran my company like this I would not be in business. I am going to document the entire repair with photos of each step in the repair with the faulty parts so everyone on social media and the internet can see how CARS does business. I will never sell another contract for CARS and will go above and beyond to encourage all the dealers I work with to do the same. We will "eat" the cost as Frank suggested because we actually care about our company's reputation.

CARS Protection Plus Won't Pay

Do not purchase this company's warranty contracts! I have sold lots of their contracts over the past 2 - 3 years and now that they have been out there for a while and customers are starting to make some claims, they are trying to find ways to void the contracts. They will try anything and everything that they possibly can to not have to pay. There is no negotiating with them either. It's their way or the highway and most of the time you won't like their way. I work at a reputable car dealership and they have put us in a tough spot because now they don't want to cough up the cash for repairs on vehicles that they told us were covered. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

A Michigan Court in 2007 ruled against Cars Protection Plus where CARS requires complete engine teardown to point of failure. Unfortunately, the court ruling only applies in Michigan. The BBB lists CARS an A+ company. [redacted]s has so many complaints, it fills pages. I wonder why multiple State Attorney Generals are not following the precedent set in Michigan?

I have the same problem with CARS Protection Plus. They required the mechanic to find the exact cause of the failure (which is a complete guess as no one can say for sure, in most cases, what exactly caused a specific failure) and use this so-called cause to deny any claim. Any, any insured is responsible for all tear down costs to find this so-called cause. For example - if a covered component (their language) fails they will inform the mechanic they cannot pay the claim unless the mechanic can tell them the exact cause of the failure. This always amounts to a mechanic guessing and making statements like (a bolt was loose) or (a gasket was bad) or some other problem existed which caused the "covered component" to fail. As a result of this CARS will say that the bolt or gasket is not a covered component and therefore they have to deny the complaint. There is no negotiating with these people! They have been sued time and time again. The good news about these law suits is they lost every time. See, Tang v. CARS (Wisconsin case No.: 2006AP1540); Matthew Van Eman v. CARS (Michigan Court of Appeals); Adam Whetzel v. CARS, Lake County, Ohio.

CARS Protection Plus Breech Contracts/ Prey on disadvantage people

Company breeches contracts with most clients.
They will not hold up their warrenty agreement! They talk in circles, Lie to you, and try to confuse you.
Their whole operation is more like a scam; they prey on disadvantage people who buy used cars.
The first step they tell you to bring you car to a complineing mechanic'
It is hard to find a local Mechanic that will actually take this insurance because everyone who has dealt with them say their are no good and they either don't take claims or they take for ever to order the parts.
They ruin peoples lives by extra fee's saying they need you to pay so they can further examine car damage. ( I it is a tactic to make low income homes to be discouraged to go threw the next process, of working with their horrible business practices)
After they have you pay around 500 dollars to take your vehicle apart more they will send someone to come look at it! They will not even examine the part that would be initially fualt of the car not working from the auto shop! THEY ONLY EXAMINE PARTS THAT THEY WONT COVER ON YOUR WARRENTY CLAIM!
Then they say they will not cover your vecicle, because they can not determine the real reason what caused something to not work, and what caused the thing to not work the other part. IT IS ALL A SCAM!

I am intrested in a CLASS ACT LAW SUIT AGAINST THEESE PEOPlE IF YOU BEEN A VICTOM TO THEIR LIES!
