Our experience with CarJet in Antalya was one of the worst travel experiences we have ever had.
My husband booked and paid in advance for a 7-day rental car through CarJet. Around 1:00 AM, a CarJet representative picked us up from Antalya Airport to take us to collect the vehicle. We were traveling with three small children.
Instead of taking us to a normal rental office, he drove us to a remote, dark and isolated area of the city. There, at around 2:00 AM, we were suddenly told that we could only receive the car if we provided a €500 deposit on a credit card.
We explained that we had cash and multiple debit cards, but we do not own a credit card. We offered to pay the deposit in cash or with debit cards, but the employee refused every option.
The most shocking part: he then refused to drive us back to the airport or help us in any way.
So we were left in the middle of the night, in an unfamiliar and dark part of Antalya, with three small children and no transportation. This was extremely frightening and irresponsible.
We had no choice but to take a taxi to Avsallar, which cost us €100.
The employee assured us that our prepaid rental would be refunded since we could not take the car. However, when we contacted CarJet customer support later, they refused to refund our money, claiming we requested it too late.
So the result of booking through CarJet was:
We lost the full amount we prepaid for a 7-day rental
We were abandoned at 2 AM with three small children
We had to pay €100 for a taxi
We received zero help and zero refund
This experience was stressful, unsafe and completely unacceptable. No responsible company should treat a family with children this way.
We have rented cars many times directly from small local companies in the past and never had a single problem. CarJet was by far the worst and most unprofessional experience we have ever had.
We are seriously considering reporting this company to the relevant consumer protection authorities in Turkey.
Avoid CarJet if you want a safe and reliable rental experience.
