I investigated a belt problem on my car. A belt was off the tracks where it should have been. It can be seen with open hood. I booked it in, and let them know I don't have a huge budget right now, but I need the car to work. Explained the issue. Mechanic himself told me it's the law in Ontario to charge me 60 something dollars for an inspection. Even though the car was already looked at and the issue was already told to him. It wasn't the steering or alternator belt. The car drove fine.
Claimed loss: Inspection costs, as it was inspected before bringing it in and was told by Mechanic himself that it's the law in the OHSA that he does an inspection and charges me for that.
Desired outcome: Waived inspection fee and corporate monitoring this vehicle in the system to see if anything else was sabotaged by this person out of spite.
