I’ve been with Brinks since 2024. Fast forward to March 2026, when I needed a new panel. During that call, I was asked if I wanted to extend my contract for another two years. I specifically asked if my monthly bill would stay the same at $43.00. I asked more than once, and each time I was assured that it would not change.
However, when I received my bill, it had jumped to $125.00. When I called to question it, I was told the increase was due to late fees that had accumulated since 2024. Apparently, there were months where I was short by as little as $0.40 or $1.00, and each time they charged a $5.00 late fee. You honestly can’t make this up.
Today, I paid $176.00, which included May’s payment and additional late fees. The irony is, the payment was late because I was trying to get them to correct an issue on their end. It feels like their representatives are trained to talk in circles instead of resolving the problem.
My monthly bill is now $48.83, even though I was clearly told it wouldn’t increase. Going forward, I plan to record all conversations with them. And if a class action lawsuit ever comes up, I’ll definitely be ready.
