District Mgr for Commerce, TX BANS ME [a Disabled Elderly] For LIFE because I lovingly stopped by in a Happy mood and ordered my dying mobility impaired brother a #12 Burger at the Drive Thru (since he can't drive) and she accused me of yelling. I went inside to explain I was not yelling so there would be no misunderstanding, as my elderly brother ('Born Agin Ken') is Loved by the crew there (which few have not left or been fired) and the Chef knows me vouches I am a nice person, a good customer. Seems this petite little young Mgr. likes to act VERY BIG and got Visibly incensed when I suggested there might be something wrong with the speaker box at the Drive-Thru, but Noooo, she doubled-down so I then pointed out elderly people may have a hard time hearing and could speak louder and as such a reasonable understanding under the Americans with Disabilities Act might be considered, She WENT NUCLEAR (past 'Going Postal) and shpute4d "GET OUT OF HERE, YOU'RE BANNED, I'M GOING TO CALL THE POLICE" all the while I had immediately turned my back and started walking out while she was ON MY HEELS, raining more of the same. and weirdly following me out while raining her Karen-like orders 'Get out' when I strode forward yet warily watching her thrusting arms, finally outside, with her hand raised up in a striking pose, by now she is eyesight of my brother (who is stricken in FEAR as he is looking out from my truck in the Handicapped space) who is stricken with fear looking at this mad woman raging. He considers calling the police but he sees me get near the truck and she finally stopped in the driving aisle short of me bit I see her start to film me and I told her to stop but I quickly think, No, she can use it to show I did nothing wrong. I'm just an old lady being taunted by a very young person who has little people skills and if a liability to Braums if she violates others ADA concerns! Good Luck Braums, you have a nightmare employee in my opinion. You destroyed an old man's love for your restaurant; the Crew misses him I hear! He's dying from Leukemia, and he was happily wanted to get his regular, $3.29 #12 Burger with no pickles and no onions, plus fries, He Got sick instead without eating the food! I've twice called the District Mgr. and have been unsuccessful, Today, after 4 months I called Customer Service again, who had no record of my complaint and did not even get a perfunctory apology! No wonder, as the ADA does not seem to mean anything to the Corporation as I don't see any mention online for ADA "Accessibility" policies.
Recommendation: DONT USE THE DRIVE-THRU AT COMMERCE TEXAS STORE LOCATION
That is unfathomably outrageous. It feels like they didn’t just miss the mark; they smashed it to pieces. You weren’t being aggressive; you were advocating. Instead of appreciation, you got a public meltdown from someone intoxicated by power. They have ignored you for months while knowing full well how little consideration they actually provide demonstrates how minimal care they have. Don’t give up. Charge forward, especially regarding the lack of ADA compliance.
With their blatant disregard for disablity rights and their treatment of vulnerable customers as threats, someone needs to be held responsible. Keep pushing for widespread systemic change — not just for an apology.
