Blossom Flower Delivery review: Flower bouquet

I live in small town Alaska and recently had a surgical procedure. My cousin’s wife (they live in the lower 48) wanted to send me some flowers, so she googled “Flower delivery Soldotna Alaska” and The Blossom was the first one that popped up.

She called my husband to give him a heads up about the flowers, which were supposed to arrive sometime today. He was surprised because we’ve never come across a florist shop in our little town. Soldotna’s population is a mere 4,725. He asked her the name of the shop and she told him The Blossom.

Several hours went by before I decided to look up The Blossom. I wanted to find out where the business was located here in Soldotna. I searched using DuckDuckGo. Sure enough The Blossom was the first “Soldotna” florist shop to pop up. Their website even said “Flower delivery in Soldotna, AK”. However, I was unable to find their physical address on their website, so I decided to call.

The website has an 877 phone number rather than a local Soldotna number. The first thing I asked, when I got a live agent, was “Where, in Soldotna, are you located?”
“We’re located in California.”
“Then why does your website say you’re in Soldotna, Alaska?”
“It says that because we partner with local florists.”
I went on to explain to the agent that my cousin had ordered me a flower arrangement not realizing there were no local florists in Soldotna. I continued with, “Will your company automatically refund my cousin since there are no local florists here for you to partner with or does she need to call you?”
“She will need to call us so we can discuss it with her.”
I took that to mean that they’d have happily kept my cousin’s money if she hadn’t called them to request a refund for a flower arrangement that would never have been delivered.

I’m so glad my cousin told us to be expecting some flowers today! She called the company and thankfully got her refund.

I hate how this company flat out lies on their website claiming that they’re in Soldotna (or whatever town someone happens to be looking for a florist). I also hate how search engines are aiding this company in deceiving people. This isn’t right.
