BJ's Wholesale Club review: Racial profiling at checkout

I've been going to this BJ for over 10 years. Never had any problems. Never stole anything. I know how they check receipts by the door.

Today, for the first time ever the man checking receipts went through all my items, touching and picking the items up, and counting. Like individually counting each one. Then he says to me. You have 11 items on the receipt, I only counted 10.

I said nothing because I knew what he was doing. Then he proceeded to lift up more items until he found the last item. No more questions asked.

Next guy behind me, and the elderly couple behind him. All white. He just eyeballs their cart and let them pass. No counting. No counting!

The elderly couple behind him had half their cart full of merchandise. Had he checked them the way he checked me, it would have taken more than 5 minutes.

A little sensitive on my part? Perhaps. Racial profiling on his part? Definitely.

If this is how I'm going to be treated from now on at BJ, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
