Bay Ridge Nissan (Brooklyn, NY) advertised a 2008 Nissan Murano on Auto Trader for a very reasonable price, I called the dealership to verify the car was still available and they said it was, they made an appointment that morning for me to come see the car. When I arrived and met with the salesman he informed me they had sold the car 20 minutes before I arrived, when I asked if I could see the car they said it wasn't there, the lady who bought it had driven it home. The funny thing is I had called 25 minutes before I arrived to tell the salesman I was running a little late due to traffic and he never mentioned anything about the car having a buyer and I thought it was amazing that all of the paperwork (loan, insurance, temporary tags etc) could be completed so fast, I have bought several cars and not once was the deal finalized that quick. They tried to sell me some other cars that were well above my price range but I wasn’t interested I had only gone there for this particular vehicle. They never apologized for wasting my gas, money for tolls or the inconvenience of a 2 hour round trip for nothing. The whole situation seemed so flaky on the way home I had a friend call Bay Ridge Nissan and inquire on the same vehicle, they told him it was still available and set up an appointment with him to come look at it, of course he never showed up but he confirmed that this dealership is running a scam. So beware of Bay Ridge Nissans internet ads, do a search on Google for Bay Ridge Nissan scams and you will find lot’s of other complaints. Take the time to do some research on any car dealership you are considering doing business with, I can’t guarantee you wont have problems but it might help you avoid a dealer that lacks honesty and integrity.
