Bank of America customer service

Hello,
After being on the phone with multiple people from Bank of America I am completely displeased with my experience. I am requesting a refund of $70.00 from the late fees the corporation has placed on my account. I have been banking with Bank of America for 3 or more years now. Today I called because my account was overdrawn like it has been before. My issue today is that my account was overdrawn and has two late fees from processing that happened overnight. The company should have a better policy to meet the needs of their customer. The customer service I have received is low! These late fees should be waived simply because they were processed in the middle of the night. If the charges would have left my account negative but not have had any late fees until later that day at 8 pm I would have been better satisfied. I don't understand how it's ethical to have the authority to bill me late fees on money that hit my account in the middle of the night. I normally have no problem paying my fees that I may have accumulated. In this instance, the charges shouldn't have been placed on my account. I have spoken with a Skyler in California at the Bank of America. I also spoke with her supervisor Daisy. They both were unable to grant me my money back. The level of customer service I received is not what I would expect from a big branch bank like Bank of America. The Warren Buffet Shareholders should be informed of their company's lack of customer service as I can expect they lose business every day from it. I will be sharing my dissatisfaction about this bank to all the people I know.

Bank of America lack of progress and inefficiency on large fraud claim

I logged a fraud claim # [protected] with Bank of America on 20 March 2019 when in NY and discovered for first time that there had been fraud on my checking account and CDs. I indicated at the time that the amount was upwards of USD 100000.00. I then had to depart for SA where I reside and have been trying to follow up by telephone but am frustrated with the lack of progress and errors made by staff. I am left with the impression that there is no investigation under way, my questions are not being answered and I have no indication of when I can expect to be refunded for what I perceive to be a bank error as a debit card was issued to someone without the knowledge of either my son or I (joint account holders).

Errors made:

1. I learnt on the first call that the fraud claim was initially logged for only about USD 2000.00 when I clearly stipulated the amount was over USD 100 000.00

2. I asked for details of dates on which my CDs were closed and where the funds were deposited. I was assured that the relevant documents would be mailed to me at my address in SA as well as to a USA address that I provided. When the documents did not arrive, I called back and learnt that the documents has been mailed to an address in Atlanta which I had informed the bank was a fraudulent address.

3. I asked again for the relevant documents to be mailed to a USA address. These arrived yesterday but are totally unrelated to the request that I had made and provide no information on the fraud.

4. I requested details of the authorization process followed by the bank to issue a debit card in my son's name and send it to a fraudulent address. To date I have received no information.

5. I requested details on the authorization process followed to close the CDs and where the funds went. To date I have received no details.

I need a contact investigator with whom I can engage to discuss this matter and to learn what steps I need to take to recover these funds.

I can be contacted on [protected]@ukzn.ac.za

Bank of America Mobile banking check deposit

Per the mobile app, when you e deposit a check you are to receive 200 that day and the remaining amount the next business day once it is reviewed and processed. I was never told that there would be a two-day hold put on a check deposited this way, and in fact was told by the teller at a branch that if I wanted to access my funds same day I would be better off using the mobile deposit or an ATM. So that being said it is extremely frustrating that I have a 2 day hold on a mobile deposit that also ironically is a check printed buy an established company known as Liberty Mutual and guess who they bank with that's right Bank of America. So I do not understand why you guys cannot access your own system to verify an account within your own network and give me my money. There's no logical explanation especially considering that I have previously deposited checks this way that were written and have no issues. I've always had reservations against bank of America considering the shady history and well not to mention the fact that yall needed to be bailed out of your financial troubles before but this move makes me highly question if yall are in trouble again based on the ridiculous explanations offered like, "we need to verify that we will be able to get our money from that account holder" UM WHAT?

Bank of America tellers cannot apply late fees accordingly on home equity lines of credit

i received noticed that I owed $300+ in late fees in March 2019.
When I inquired at the branch i had been making the payments at, it was noted by a teller, assistant manager and branch manager that the drop down button on that screen wouldn't allow them to put any payment on late fee. I contacted the Consumer Financial Protection bureau for assistance as the phone reps were not much help. Kevin merscher from Bank of America contacted me and said he was working on it. Kevin called me today to inform me that I needed to pay $116 for the late fees for October, November and December of 2018 and January 2019 by Sunday April 7 to be current and not incur additional fees. Keep in mind the payment statement says $*** payment, $31.57 late fee and gives the option for additional principal amount. So, the months i was late i added the payment, late payment and whatever extra to make an even amount and thought I was paying my bill. Obviously I was wrong. As Kevin told me, make the payment by calling this 800 number. Well I did and the woman told me I was current and owed no late fees. Freaking out after Kevin's threat, I ran to the branch where again I was told they couldn't apply to late fees, I customer late fees and the manager tried to call kevin. She did take me money and gave me a receipt for the $116. I went home, called bank of America again..I spoke to Rebecca and keericka who both told me that my account did not show any late fees not did it show the $116 payment posted to my account yet. I even pulled up Kevin's instructions on his response to the Consumer Financial Protection bureau complaint and they again told me I was current before the $116 payment. So if I'm going to be a few days late with a payment, how are you able to include paying the payment and late fee? So confusing, feels like a scam and I'm sure I'm not the only victim to having been threatened to pay late fees the just to satisfy bank of America greed and poor customer relationships. I will be more than willing to show the receipt s that prove the computer is not the teller or the customers friend

Bank of America promised refund of fees

I have a student account for my son, he became overdrawn about $200 (4 separate charges from royal farms). He was overdrawn $1192. I called the bank to see if they could reduce some fees because 90% of the negative balance was from fees. I was told yes the best they could do was around $450 but first the account had to be payed then the would refund the fees. I thought that was good. The account is paid so I called today to see about my refund and I got a song and dance about how they can't give it to me now that I paid the account in full only if I set up a payment arrangement they would refund those fees we spoke about. So now they will not refund any fees.

Bank of America lack of tellers

6people on line, one teller working, other service managers sitting in their cubicles and branch manager wasting time greeting incoming customers. Manager should get behind counter and help customers.

Another time there were people on line waiting for service, someone walks in does not get on line, and one bank representative goes over, takes a bill from person, interrupts the one teller to break the bill, while teller in the middle of a transaction. Teller is forced to go in the back room, get change which is given to the customer who then leaves. No identification was asked of this individual who never got on line. All the rest of us were looking on thinking... Why we don't get special treatment even though we go to this branch multiple times a week. Some people obviously get preferred treatment.
Shame on that branch!

Bank of America deposit of check with 7 day hold

Deposited Irvine Bank check from legal settlement fund, a check for about $146, 000 on 03/02/2019 and was told the it would be on hold for seven days. Tried talking to bank manager and say corporation policy would not let release funds even if the other bank check cleared and proven to be good. So its B of A using the money to loan out to other banks to bounce there accounts and make money on its customers. Retiring and had no idea the this would take on a State of California bank to bank transfer and made a ten day deposit on retirement motorhome of our dreams. I have been with Ventura, California for 31 years, Barstow, Ca for three years and as a kid in San Bernardino, California since 1972. Its not like I ask for a hold to removed in 40 plus years and have verified B of A has the funds from the Irvine bank.
1. Verify check has cleared.
2. Please release hold on funds of a least $110, 000 so we can get a B of A cashers check issued in Everett, Washington tomorrow. We fly tomorrow LAX to Seattle, Washington and dealer to pick us up and drive to dealership.
3. The ten day hold on the retirement dream ends tomorrow.

Thank You for your time in advance,

Bank of America Interest charges after paying the card off in full

I recently paid off my very large credit card balance, that my x-husband charged up. Over the years I have paid Bank of America thousands in interest payments. I never asked for a financial intervention to reduce the balance. I am now getting a bill for $9.47 for interest payments. I would like Bank of America to waive this interest fee. I have been a good customer since 1996, I did the right thing and paid off the entire debt. This complaint is about principle-I paid the entire amount and now you are charging me again-don't you think you made enough money off of me? I would like to think that you have some integrity and perhaps change your policy about adding the interest fee if someone pays the balance in full. I have called 2x today, Katrina up-state New York wanted to help but couldn't. The 1st girl Crystal from West Virgina-sterile and not approachable. I need to mail off the payment by 03/01/19. Please return e-mail me at [protected]@yahoo.com. Thank you for your consideration.

Bank of America transaction claim on checking account, debit card

I was fraud by a company called "uniship cargo". They charge me $950+$975+$1000+$1200 from feb 9-11, promised me $8000 refund after killing my cat during shipping. Then they cut off my contact, vanished with money. I called bank of america immediately for revoke these four transactions, providing my invoice, refund paper, payment detail and email evidence. However boa denied my case on feb 22, saying the receipt of merchandise / service should be solved by me and merchant. But like I said I can't connect uniship cargo now, they don't reply my call or email and they're in another state. It's irresponsible for boa to let customer solve scam with scammer. Plus based on cfpb transaction claim includes the reason "item never arrived" "the merchandise was faulty or not as described". Thus boa's reason is invalid and must reopen the case. Since I provide them a refund statement signed by uniship cargo my revoke should be guaranteed.

Bank of America closed my account

Bank of America closed my credit card account. The only thing I can think of is I had gotten a call where the guy told me he needed to update my information and I was reluctant thinking it was a scam and he wanted me to give my current place of employment. I don't know why seen as I opened this credit card many years ago, maybe about 15 years ago. And I've been working at the same place of employment for over 19 years. I'm have made my oayments on time all these years and have awesome credit.
They lost a good customer and this casted a not so desirable look for them to me.

I just received an email from them telling me my account has been closed. After calling (30 minute hold time) and speaking with very nice person I was told my account was closed for non-usage and when we tried to reopen it I was told the terms and conditions had changed so I would have to re-apply. Very curious as to why it was REALLY closed. I paid it off less that 1 year ago.

Bank of America money missing from checking accounts after flawed zelle transfers

I have $156 missing from my checking account, after 3, triply-made transfers of $78 each! I made a $78 transfer on-line through Zelle and Bank of America, only for Zelle to put my request in 3 times! I called BOA, only to get put on hold. So I then asked my daughter to please, just transfer my $156 back to me, through one Zelle transfer. Well, she got a BOA e-mail "confirming" she sent me $156 through Zelle. And yeah, she had $156 zapped from her BOA checking account. But...where WAS the $156? It did not go back into my account. My account still shows 3 $78 transfers, of a total $234 withdrawn! No returned $156 is there. And no live BOA rep. could tell me during my phone call yesterday evening, exactly where that $156 went! He said I must talk to Zelle. And he transferred me to Zelle - a robot with which there is no possible, real interaction! I got robo information, the first being that, Zelle is not to be blamed for anything. I must instead speak with my bank! And BOA was of course gone for the day, as the Zelle robot talked on and on, to no avail!
I now must spend tomorrow morning demanding that BOA quickly get that $156 back into my checking account!

Bank of America boa closed the account & froze the funds

I have been a customer of BoA for several years, and I had checking account and a credit card with them. My parents are visiting me for a few months every year, and they are from a third world country. While they are here, they work at McDonalds and using BoA checking account for direct deposit. When they opened the account, the offer was that if in the next three months they get curtain amount from direct deposits, they will receive $300 bonus. Three months later my parents go to the grocery store to buy milk and bread, and neither of their debit cards work. I was in another city planning and having a funeral for my mother in law who recently died, and I was unable to help them. My parents speak very limited English; however, after spending two hours on the phone, BoA was able to find someone who speaks the same language (which was a great thing). The response was: "BoA chose to close their account and they will EVENTUALLY receive the cashier check after everything is over. There is no actual time frame and they cannot answer why the bank made such decision. Also, they will not be able to open another account either."
The next morning I spent about an hour on the phone with the BoA customer service, being bounced among 5 different representatives that could not answer me why the account is closed and why my parents cannot get their funds? Finally Norma from the closure department answered: "It was the bank's decision, and at some point after the investigation they will be getting the cashier check"...sounds familiar, huh?...The only problem is, my parents are travelling back home and these are the only funds they are counting on to survive over there! My husband could not listen to this BS anymore and yelled back "What is there to invastigate? Several deposits from McDonalds and less than two grands?" We asked for Norma's supervisor, and that was a hassle! Finally she spoke to her supervisor, Ashley, herself and they ALLOWED us to withdraw all their funds the NEXT day ONLY! ...and so I did, as well as I chose to close my other accounts and credit card with them, as I don't know at what other most tragic and inconvenient moment this bank will "chose" to screw me over.

Bank of America b of a prepaid edd card

To whom it may concern:

Good evening, I recently had unauthorized charges on my card and had to have my card replaced. Here's the problem that occurred. I had no idea about the ensuing nightmare I was about to experience. When I canceled my card on Thursday, I had no idea I would not get a new card until Monday. I also didn't know there was no way I could access my account or pull out money from my account without a card. Which meant I had to pay $15 through Western Union services or go the whole weekend without any money. Here's the problem I have, you would think the representative I was speaking with, would've exercised some common courtesy and told me about the impending nightmare I was about to face. Could've simply said, "if you need money go take out what you need to get you by until you get your new card on Monday". That's what we call good customer service. Unfortunately, your representative didn't tell me anything. So the next day I had to waste my money to pull out my money through Western Union. I called in at 1 PM and the representative told me 3 to 5 hours. I called at 4 pm and 5 pm. After waiting 4 hours, I was then told it's going to take 5 to 7 hours. I explained to the representative that I needed this money by 7:30 pm to cover funds for my other account. If not, I will be charge insufficient fund fees. She proceeded to just hang the phone up in my face. I was not using foul language nor was I yelling. I was definitely upset, but I was not disrespectful in anyway. I don't know who thought of this program, but it appears that the person was trying to make it as inconvenient and difficult to deal with as possible. The way you guys handle deactivating cards, has to be one of the worst procedures I've seen in a long time. An absolute disgrace!

Bank of America checking and savings accounts

So apparently I'm the next victim of a closed Bank of America account. 25 yrs - 10 accts, mixed between business & personal, checking and savings. 1st sign of trouble, someone claiming to be from B of A called me asking me for personal information on my account. When I asked which one she wouldn't give me any specific information but wanted me to give her all my personal info (SSN, Tax ID, acct numbers) when I refused she said "you'll be getting a letter from us". Next thing I know I get a letter saying in 21 days your accts will all be closed. Actually by the time you get the letter it's only 2 weeks. Over 10 calls, 3 visits to my branch where all the employees know me and the branch manager has known me for over a decade. "Nothing we can do, we can't get any information". Unbelievable that a banking institution can act in this manner, it's bad enough that they can just close your accounts but not to give you any information at all and to only give you two weeks to get all of your affairs in order is completely irresponsible and unprofessional.

Bank of America credit card

We've been loyal customers for almost 20 years. Due to a life change, we decided to pay off our credit card balance and close our card. We called the company, got a pay off balance, and let them know when to expect our payment.in spite of our diligence, the company chose to report to the credit agency that we were over our credit limit. We've been over the limit many, many times, and had never received a bad credit report. Not coincidently, the day we cancelled our card, is the day they reported us. This sounds like retaliation against good, loyal customers to me. Although they acknowledge that we did in fact call and communicate our payment plans, and we completely paid off the balance in full as we said we would, they will not remove the bad credit report, which is affecting us terribly. I will never do business with BOA again, and will tell as many people as I possibly can to avoid them as well. They act spitefully to good loyal customers when they choose to close their card.

Bank of America funds on hold for 10 days!!!

We deposited a payroll ck and ba holding my funds for 10 day, 10 days! And this ck is buy groceries for our kids, pay mortgage, utilities and plus. We spoke to everyone we can think of at ba requesting by going to bank talked to managers I two diff banks they gave us a number to call and the # was not for customer to call they will not allow to talk to customers so we call customer services and they gave us ironic, illegal excesses because. They blame the bank were the ck is coming from. We confirmed with the bank where the ck is from and they confirmed us the funds were released within the next day of my deposit to ba. We confronted ba customer services staff and they gave me another excuse plus another excuse. When asked to speak to a cfo or a manager we were told they don't have one. Ironic the cfo name is paul m donofriois all over the internet. I contact them via twitter to and some one did call us a marty! She was in charge of twitter website, that is who they have to answer all your need with your personal bank account. We are defenatly taking action, this banks cannot keep our money and release it when they want too. Plus they have incompetent people as employees. Bank of America bank causing high overdrawn account & unnecessary fees

Filing a complaint and want to file a claim against what ever department has left me with such a huge financial mess, taking my entire income for the month of january 2019 after charging my account 2temporary credit reversal of $400&$40, which was posted to my account as a positive credit of $400&$40, appeared on my bank statement for december 2018. I have several charges in overdraft fees that should not be charging me. Than the 200$ chime bank account deposit from boa to chime I have proof that there was plenty of money in my account at boa to make that happen. I got paid the 29th of november 2018 and the deposit to chime bank account went in the same time. My account had more than enough. The dates on all the statements from boa are not dated correctly. Than paying several boa overdraft charges of. $35 on top of not telling the truth about the dates and than saying I didnt have enough funds to cover any of it
I want to file two seperate claims against b oa - first one is for the overdrafted charge's for years that I have banked with them I want to be reimbursed for all the charges on my account, the overdraft charges, the charging me $2.50 for simply checking my balance at an atm that never said I would have too pay that added fee ontop of the $3.50 for the fee to take the money off my boa account and than ontop of that fee the $2.50 fee. Which both fees should be reimbursed to my account for every time I paid one for all the time i've banked there. Boa doesn't honor their part in protection for my account not do they aknowledge any responsibility for what damage they have caused me to have overall.. Part of which is, my phone bill was shut off on the 5th of january, 2019, I had to beg my phone company to give me an extension til the 9th of the month of january, I made them aware of boa causing my account to be this badly in the negatives. That I am contacting my ßocial security office tomorrow morning to let them know about what this bank has done to my account, leaving me with no phone as of the 9th being my last extension day to pay my phone bill that I have no moneu to pay, thanks to bank of america taking all $751 of my social security disability benefits check that came in direct deposit to my bank of america account. I have no money to pay my storage bill, no money for food, no money for any other bills due, or any hygiene products I need, or too take care of myself. On top of this all my bank of america bank account is still over drafted by $174 that racked on by more fees and charges.
Thank you
