Aurora Homes

Hired Aurora Homes to build our custom home in 2019. They promised to finish the remaining work within 10-30 business days after we settled, but it's been a year and we're still waiting. They stopped responding to us a few months ago, despite our repeated attempts to contact them. Apparently, it's hard to find good workers in this area, so they're at the mercy of the contractors. We've had so many incompetent workers that we had to redo things ourselves. We've expressed our concerns to Aurora Homes multiple times. We had to buy and install exterior shutters ourselves because they never delivered them. The kitchen contractor they were working with quit, so our kitchen was left unfinished. The nail holes in the trim around the cabinets were never filled in or painted. The kitchen contractor gave us the name of the paint and the supplier, but the supplier didn't have that color. We've tried reaching out to Aurora Homes for the correct paint information, but they never responded. They promised to send us a check for the shutters, but it's been months and we haven't received anything. We asked for $1,000 to fix the remaining issues ourselves, but they haven't responded. Aurora Homes seems to take the money and run, without completing the contracted work. Our brand new home has unfinished and shoddy work. We've reported small holes in our screened porch screens and incorrect installation of lattice, but they haven't fixed them. The contractors also messed up the expensive front door by putting in plugs backwards and painting over them. We've informed Aurora Homes about this, but they haven't addressed it. Some work has been completed after constant calling, but we're frustrated with the remaining issues. We no longer want to deal with Aurora Homes and believe a refund is a reasonable request to cover the cost of finishing the work ourselves.
