Associates Underwriting Service contract

On May 25, 2023 we decided to sign up with this company (AUL) for a service contract. The next day we found that our previous contract could be transferred to our new vehicle. We contacted AUL to cancel the contract. We then went to our dealership and they filled out a form for a refund of our $2800! Today, June 13, I received an email stating they needed another cancellation form signed. That they are unable to refund customers directly! I paid directly by credit card and they won't refund it to my credit card. I'm thinking I may have to file a fraud complaint with my credit card bank.

Desired outcome: I want my money refunded back to my credit card!

Associates Underwriting Warranty

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how a business named AUL Extended Warranty Company, does business by ripping consumers off. I am hoping you can help me, or at least point me in the right direction.

In October 2021 I purchased a used 2017 Chrysler Pacifica from Dodge Jeep Ram on Naglee Road, Tracy, Ca. At the time of purchase, the dealership talked us into buying an extended Powertrain Lifetime warranty and service contract from AUL Corp.

By May the vehicle started having issues with hard/rough shifting. We took the car in and the dealership did a transmission software update. This helped for a few months, but then the car started again with the transmission rough/hard shifting. Some of the times, the car felt like it was rear ended. That is how hard the car was shifting into gears. My wife and two kids were in the vehicle and that spooked them a bit. This is a major safety concern!

One morning in Feb 2023, I started up the car and it began to shake, and I could hear swishing sounds near the passenger side. Right away the engine light turned on. We took the car to the dealership, and they found an error code “P0305 Cyl 5 Misfire” No codes regarding a hot engine, or overheating engine were found. They also found the coolant bottle low and found coolant in Cyl 5. They concluded that the right cyl head was warped. After further investigation the engine block was cracked or warped and advised us that the car needed a new engine.

The dealership service team contacted AUL and Protective Asset and described their findings. AUL immediately denied our claim over the phone, without any inspection of the vehicle. We complained further and AUL finally sent over and inspector. And of course, after the inspection AUL denied the claim, saying that it was caused by us driving the vehicle while it was overheating. This is false! We never drove the car while it was overheating. There were no indications of a hot overheating engine. No error code for a hot engine. No engine light indication an overheating engine. The only time I saw the engine light turned on was that morning in Feb 2023. We asked Aul for a copy of the inspection report and they denied us a copy of the report. Why would they deny a report of the inspection? Are they hiding something? Was this inspection performed by a certified mechanic/technician? Are these inspectors contracted out or are they employed by AUL. So many questions have been unanswered, and we are stuck with a $13,000 estimate for a new engine. We have also spent over $2000 on a rental car, since our family needs two cars for work, school, activities This is ridiculous and unfair. How do these types of businesses get away with theft? AUL Corp and Protective Asset do not honor their end of the deal. In my opinion, they are fraud and a scam. Buyers beware of these warranty companies, they take your money and run!

Desired outcome: Accept our claim and reimburse for car rentals. AUL and Protective Asset should cover the $13,000 bill for the new engine and $2000+ for car rentals.

Associates Underwriting Auto extended warranty

I am a customer of Sentinel and this warranty was sold to me by Kemba Credit Union. Apparently this warranty is supreme plus and covers everything as per the warranty coverage page. I had a engine light on and Repair Facility Found out Oil Pressure Sensor is not working for some reason. I always serviced my vehicle on time and changed oil. Now my repair facility which is Platinum Plus Auto Repair in 7805 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23294 tried to call them for 2 days. Claims department does not pick up. then I somehow get a hold of them and whatever part number they were mentioning in the call, all are not covered. Means when you say engine is covered, the parts (In my case oil pressure sensor) which becomes faulty are not covered. This Warranty company is a joke. They only cover those parts which does not get faulty. All my money is wasted. I want my money back as this warranty is not working at all. I don't want this warranty as It was never used and I will not be able to use it. in some way or other they will deny any claim. I talked to many service companies. Sentinel or AUL does not even allow to raise a claim saying 'all these are not covered' to keep their claim reimbursement percentage high.

Desired outcome: Refund and Cancel the Warranty

Associates Underwriting AUL Car Warranty

I paid $2, 600.00 for this warranty because they said it would cover my engine. FOUR times I called them and FOUR times they told me my engine was covered. Each time I had service to be done, they told the Service people my engine was NOT covered. My check engine light came on and was diagnosed as having misfires, requiring the piston rings to be re-ringed : DENIED. EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS IN MY PAPERWORK, THAT MY ENGINE WAS COVERED. THERE IS NO EXCLUSION FOR MY ENGINE. AUL Warranties are a JOKE. MY vehicle is still not fixed. I am so far past disgusted it is NOT FUNNY. I WANT MY ENGINE REPAIRED or REPLACED (Which would be the cheapest thing to do). I WANT AUL TO HONOR THE WARRANTY THAT I PAID FOR. (SILVER). These are the companies that would have fixed my car, if AUL hadn't told them my Engine was NOT COVERED.

Associates Underwriting Reserve Warranty NON - Coverage

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Murano Crosscabriolet with 39, 000 miles 04/2018. I paid for the "Reserve" coverage. Before buying the car, I spoke to the dealer about the convertible top being possibly problematic in this vehicle. They told me they have an awesome warranty company that will cover it so not to be concerned. I bought the car. Before I purchased it, I noticed it said that convertible tops are not covered. The dealer got the insurance rep on the line to assure me it was covered and they checked off under optional coverage "Seals & Gaskets" which included the convertible top. SURPRISE! 02/2020, I am having a hole wear through on each side of the rear window of the fabric. It is because of a design flaw. Nissan told me it would be covered under their warranty if it still was under the factory warranty. I took photos, reached out to AUL and was told oh well, in your contract it states no convertible top coverage and to call my dealer. Crickets from everyone. Dealership wants $8, 000.00 to replace the top not including labor. This is insanity.

Associates Underwriting refusal auto warranty — non payments

Has anyone of these many complaints including mine, started a class action suit against AUL? There seems to be plenty of fraud and theft in this companies' actions, on top of looking like there might have been some hidden kickbacks to sell these supposed warranties. Please post on this site if so. October 4th, 2019 We sold our house in Lebanon, Mo and were moving to Virginia in June, 2019. When we got to West Virginia we had to use the turnpike, about just exiting the second toll booth, or car quit running. My wife had just had a recent stroke and here we sit at the right side of the road. After calling aul for towing service, we waited and waited till the State police said no tow companies but theirs could come on the toll road. so we waited some more, thank heaven their tow truck came and he and a fellow who was following him got us to the FORD dealer MOUNTAINEER FORD in Beckley WV Final story, we are not only out $1500 for the purchase of the warranty, but also over $800 for repairs, hotel and rental car. Lets close this con game.

Associates Underwriting aulcorp vehicle powertrain warranty

You will verify your contact until you are blue in the face with zero results. We bought a 2011 Chevy Impala and the warranty is with AULcorp. 5 months later the engine and transmission completely fail. I had to have my car insurance company tow the vehicle because AUL would not accept the warranty despite giving them all the correct info. They asked for verification and we send it. Next day asked for more verification and we send it. 1 week later they agree to tow the car to another place where it will get repairs. The repair place says the engine and transmission are a complete loss. Guess who all of a sudden needs more verification of the warranty that we've been making payments on. Their name is all over our warranty paperwork. Now they need verification from the dealership that we bought the car from. Basically, we went back up to the dealership so they can make copies of the paperwork we've already given AUL. Our contact also says we were supposed to get a rental car. So much for that! We've been 3 weeks without our car and without a rental car. This sounds like it will be going the lawsuit route very quickly. Avoid this company. It's nothing but a headache and you are paying for a contract that you will never be able to verify with them no matter how much of the original paperwork you have.

Associates Underwriting Vehicle repair warranty

I bought a AUL warranty from a good car dealership in Castle Rock, Colorado. I paid about $1600 for the warranty. I had the car a year and put about 1500 miles on it. I don't dive the car very much. I had a cylinder head failure on the right side. I took it in to the dealership I bought the car from and they started the work on the vehicle. They contacted AUL and it took over Two Weeks for them to approve the repair. AUL said that the warranty had a $3000 max, but nowhere in the contract it stated that. They finely agreed to pay the bill and the vehicle was repaired. Almost three weeks later I got my car back. Two days later I found oil on my driveway and took my car back to the dealership. They said that when the waive spring came apart it cracked the valve cover and that's where the oil leak was coming from. The dealership contacted AUL for authorization for that repair and they said it was caused by the cylinder head coming apart the valve cover was not covered under their warranty. I spoke to a supervised at AUL and he said that it was not listed as a warranty part on the contract it would not be covered. I asked him if a bolt is not listed on the warranty and it was damaged and unusable due to the engine failure would that be covered. He said no. Only the parts listed. I bought a powertrain warranty and I asked him is the valve cover part of the engine and is the engine part of the powertrain? He would not answer me. I asked him several times and he still would not respond. He told me that I was being unreasonable and rude and I was treating him and his company because I was thinking about contacting a lawyer and he ended the call. I have to pay $350 to get my car back because this company will not honor their contract!

Associates Underwriting Warranty

I've only had this car for 8 months. I brought the Estate Warranty. I had problems with it withing two weeks. I took it to the shop to get fix and they realized that the timing was bad alone with other stuff with the engine. The auto shop had to go around and around with them. They told them it need a new engine in it, but they refuse to to do it and only changed the timing on it. They auto shop told AUL it was going to come back and bite them. Well come December I have it back at the auto shop and I need a need engine and they are refusing to fix it. I'm in the process of taking them to small claims court.

Associates Underwriting They refused my claim

I was completely denied my claim, after having bought a 2003 VW Jetta, and having the fuse block go out on it. Didn't notice anything really dramatically different, until March 2015. That's right less than two months of having the vehicle. until the vehicles thermostat went out and caused a hose to leak. When I took it to a mechanic in Morrison Colorado, AUL Insurance flat out denied my claim and told me NO, that they wouldn't fix the problem that it was caused by the electrical problem and that wasn't covered by their insurance. I agreed to pay for the fuse block and asked them to pay for the thermostat and hose which was over $900.00 to fix. They refused! Why in the heck did I pay $1700.00 for that "Special" insurance when they wouldn't even try to pay for such damage? VERY UNHAPPY!

Associates Underwriting Fraud

We purchased a used car in March 2015. By April 2015, the engine blew. The dealer, whom we are suing, made us take out an extended warranty with AUL warranty company. They were to cover the $2000 for a used motor to be installed. After bring the car to three mechanics, the insurance company denied the claim, claiming that we drove around without oil. Not one mechanic stated that, and in fact all three wrote me receipts stating that the rod inside the engine went bad. Nothing to do with lack of oil. AUL refuses to honor the warranty coverage. This is fraud

Associates Underwriting Rip off company

RE: AUL Service Contracts
1250 Main St
Suite 300
Napa, CA. 94559
Claim # X3727013
http://www.aulcorp.com/

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how a business named AUL Extended Warranty Company, does business by ripping consumers off. I am hoping you can help me, or at least point me in the right direction.

I am writing to EVERY major portal I can find and will let them know of my experience with this shady company.

In March of 2015 I purchased a car from Spanky and Frankys Auto Sales in Media PA, (our court date with them is July 18, 2015), for our son who turned 18 and had saved enough to purchase a vehicle at $3990. At the time of purchase we also bought an extended warranty with AUL that Spankys talked us into. It supposedly covered 18 months, or 6000 miles.

By April of 2015, my sons car needed a new motor. Spankys told us not to panic, that we are covered. After three mechanics looked at the car, AUL was contacted and was told that the motor would need to be replaced. Aul in turn told the mechanic that he would have to rip the motor apart and they could send someone out to inspect it.

THIS IN ITSELF IS RIDICULOUS! Not one of the three mechanics have EVER heard of this.

On June 2, 2015 my mechanic called and stated they denied the claim because there was no oil in the motor. Well the fact is, three mechanics are willing to testify in court that there is NO WAY this could have been the case and that there was in fact oil in the motor. The mechanic that broke the motor down stated that he told the AUL Representative at his shop that the thing had sludge in the motor and there is no way he can say what AUL is stating. We have also taken many pictures.

AUL Warranty took our money and when we needed them they lied. This is NOT the way an insurance company is supposed to work, nor is it legal for them to deny a claim when three mechanics (from three different shops) have all looked at this car and stated the same thing.

I have also found many complaints against this company for the same exact reasons and different ones. http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco/business-reviews/extended-warranty-contract-service-companies/aul-corporation-in-napa-ca-13815/complaints

Here is a list of many other complaints against AUL Warranty.

Associates Underwriting Not honoring warranty

In 2012 I cosigned with my daughter on a 2004 Volkswagon Beetle and due to the age of the car we were urged to purchase AUL under the hood warranty. On 12/05/14 the antifreeze light came on and immediately the engine started smoking. It was towed to Dolan Toyota-Scion where the car and warranty were purchased and we discovered the antifreeze hose was cracked and blew the entire motor. AUL would not honor any of this! They said the hose that caused it was not covered! Talk about a nasty loophole! This company is a rip-off and I am taking it to the BBB immediately. We are stuck with a blown engine, car payment, and a dealershilying about the warranty!

Associates Underwriting Refused repair coverage

Bought a 2007 Mini Cooper that now has to have engine work due to a timing chain tensioner failed. Vehicle is at the Mini dealer and their techs have shown the rep the faulty part, however because I am an able bodied human male that can change his own oil at the required times they refuse to cover a part that failed that has nothing to do with oil. This warranty IS NOT worth the paper it's printed on. DO NOT buy a warranty from this company they will find every reason not to cover repairs!

Associates Underwriting Warranty Does NOT Cover Drive train

I bought a used RV and was sold a Drivetrain Warranty. I bought the warranty for $1, 500.00. My RV broke down in another state, stranding my entire family. We had to get a hotel, rent a car and leave the RV at a dealership for repair, ending our vacation.

The warranty specifically excludes the broken part of the drivetrain from coverage. Therefore, the warranty does not cover the drivetrain. It is not a Drivetrain warranty if it does not cover the entire drive train. BEWARE, THIS IS A BAIT AND SWITCH WHERE THE TITLE OF THE WARRANTY SAYS ONE THING, "DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY" AND THE ACTUAL COVERAGE EXCLUDES ESSENTIAL PARTS OF THE "DRIVETRAIN."

I call in on 07 / 08 / 2014 and spoke to a customer service rep from aul. I completely gave them the diagnosis of my car and the parts description and part number. So i paid him out of my pocket and he call the claim in and now they are staying the parts are not covered. They are the wrost and i promise they will not get away with this. All scott louis do is avoid calls from the customers. If you need a extended warranty please consumers dont buy one from aul.
