We recently switched over to AT&T Uverse from Time Warner because of all the "special promotions" they were offering. We were supposed to get $275 back in rebates. We met all of the requirements for the rebates but have not received anything. I contacted their promotions department get our rebates and they supposedly took care of everything. 2 days later, I get an email that says our rebate request was denied. WTF? I have hard copies of the fine print of the rebates which clearly shows that we have met all the requirements and I can't seem to get a dime out of them. Now I will have to spend another hour on the phone with them to get our rebates. If they do not honor them, it is completely false advertising and unethical. They use the promotions to lure you over and then do not come through on their promises. I had customer service issues with AT&T a long time ago and vowed never to use them again. I should have learned my lesson.

Why doesn't everyone just simply stop paying? If we all start not paying a bill don't have to do something

Here it is 2017 and we are still trying to get our rebate from 2016! It makes you so mad. We were supposed to get 400 dollars for getting uverse, my mother in her 90's spends her time trying to get her dued rebates and they keep giving her the run around. Doesn't AT&T realize that some people make the switch not for the extra money in a rebate but that it adds up to a savings! Especially for someone on a fixed income.

The ATT Uverse rebate process constitutes an unfair and deceptive business practice. Never was informed that my $300 rebate was available until after it expired.

This is exactly why they require a valid credit card and not a _debit card_! AT&T is a very shady company.

Me and 2 of my neighbors just recently filed a grievance with the Better Business Bureau over their tactics, bait & switch mechanics, and outright false advertising.

I feel all of your pain! There is so much I would like to add to all of these comments, however I am unable to organize everything I have gone through in my head. After a gazillion phone calls and hours upon hours on hold, being transferred and never getting positive results, I simply stopped paying my bills. Initially, I was to receive a $200 rebate, which never happened! I took off 3 different days of work only to be told 3 times that the techs (installers) were running behind and I would have to be rescheduled! On the 3rd day, I had a tech at my home at 9PM because there was no way, I was rescheduling and loosing another day at work! I then waited 2 months for my phone to be hooked up properly although I was being billed for it each month and would spend hours on hold trying to get my service connected. Once the phone service was finally connected I received a $149.00 Service Fee the following month..still no sign of the rebate! This story is certainly more in depth, however I still can't even begin to think about how I should organize my complaints. What I would like to know is where the hell to send my equipment back. I know I should take it to UPS, but to what address do I send it. I just want it out of my house and from there I will begin writing my letters because I'll be damned if they are going to take anymore of my time on the telephone! This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced! No one is on the same page and everyone has a piss poor attitude! I just want a physical address. Can anyone give me a physical address? Anyone?

lol, ... make that col :( ... this is so typical of AT&T and the Telcom industry in general aka former Bell Companies. I worked at Cingular/AT&T Wireless for three months, of living hell. After having suffered horrible indignity, the *attitude* you get from these ### that work at AT&T then makes sense. Basically, the people that work there do NOT like one another to say the least. There is absolutely NO cooperation between groups and employees for absolutely no concept for working together on anything even between one another within in their own groups. Calling it a hostel work environment puts it mildly. Civil War, minus the civil more appropriately describes the environment in which these people operate and thrive. If you think being a customer sucks, be glad you've never worked there. I loved the way the place the most obnoxious militant losers hired in security positions in order to fill EOE quotas. These ###s wield their new found power and live to harass everyone on their way in to their jobs by treating everyone other than *their friends* as terrorists. Think ghetto homeless meets airport security worker and you'll understand how a typical day begins at the Telcos. These ###s are then promoted, again to fill EOE quotas, to their infamous positions as customer dis-service aggravationists. AT&T deserves NO CUSTOMERS!
