I am writing (since I have had no response to my phone call to customer service on 7/30/2026) to get a resolution from AMR. A letter from a collection agency was forwarded to my home by someone who had been receiving bills, etc. from AMR. The address that they were sending the bills to is not and has not ever been our address. They took my husband on 12/3/25 from the hospital to a rehab facility and there is a balance due. Anyway, they have been sending this information to another address (not even sure where they got the address). The persons eventually sent us the collection letter and a few of the bills they received from AMR - which had been opened by the other party. This is a HIPAA violation in addition to sending bills to incorrect persons. When I called I asked where the company got this address and they said they didn't know, they thought it was from the hospital. I told them that that address was never on my husband's file and the hospital had no problem billing us. They told me that they would escalate the issue to "Higher Level" and would get back to me. To date, I have received no email, no phone call and no regular mail response. I am very upset to think that this happened and not sure what other information they may have sent incorrectly. It looks like we don't pay our bills and this was not our issue! I want this corrected but I am sure that I will be waiting a long time to get this cleared up.
I am looking to get some type of response as to where they got the address from, what other information was sent to this address as well as any other address for my husband and what is going to be done about this.
Desired outcome: I want someone to contact me re: this violation of our personal information as well as clearing up the collection charge.
