ChristianaCare Hospital Admission Through Emergency Nightmares !!!

An absolute nightmare to deal with entry through the Emergency Room. Thirteen hours of a hall bed where private demographic information, test results and doctor discussions are said openly within the hallway for all to hear. What a flagrant violation of patient privacy HIPAA laws!

From a hall bed when emergency got even busier to what they call a Z Bed. The Z Bed consisted of five hours in a public hallway on the fourth floor with no monitoring, facilities or care. To use a bathroom consisted of a 200 foot walk being held up by an attendant with a waist strap for a patient who could not walk on their own.

The level of care provided was deplorable. Never again will Chrisitana Care be used! They should lose their license to operate.

Desired outcome: Inform the public of the lack of proper care offered by this hospital

I completely agree, however we all need to take it to the next level. They will never fall below the standard of care because their standard is so low. It is owned by a corporation that is for profit. They nurses are arrogant and lazy. I am taking mine to the ceo@Christianacare.org, also The joint commission in OakbrookTerrace, Ill. and Delaware Office of Health Facilities and licensing and ceritification. The patient relations office is useless, they are paid by Christiana Care so they are there to protect them. they could care less about how you were treated.

ChristianaCare Doctor rudeness

To whom It May Concern,

I am writing this complaint in reference to a message left on the patient portal by Dr. Bhanot (Pulmonologist) on 8/22/2023. I left a message for Dr. Bhanot requesting additional allergy testing that wasn’t covered in my first allergy test dated March 26,2023 ordered by Dr. Bhanot. Dr. Bhanot left a message for me stating” I don’t care about that, I have never ordered that. Done by allergist.” Please see attached Labcorp report for proof Dr. Bhanot ordered an IgE testing for me last year. Attached is also a copy of the transcript from the portal. I have been a patient of Dr. Bhanot’s for over two years and I am very taken back by her recent rudeness to a request for additional allergy testing. If the doctor didn’t want to order a script for the additional test, there was a better way of stating that to me as her patient. Needless to say, ordering additional allergy test for me would not have been any big deal. This was a way for me to continue to be proactive in identifying possible allergens to improve my asthma condition. I will not be seeing Dr. Bhanot any longer and I certainly hope that your company will review with her having a good respectful repour with patients goes along way if you want to have a sustainable future in medicine. If I can answer any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call me at [protected]. p.s. The portal conversation and the lab corp results will not save on this site since they are in PDF. I can send to a company email if needed.

To Whom it may concern,

I am the spokesperson for Derrick E Lightfoot Dob 5/3/1950 was in room 5E15B and then moved to 5E16 private room, was a patient October 13th until October 30th? We were very disappointed with the care given during his stay. Derrick was a patient for a week without any personal hygiene care until I requested, and I ended to giving him his wash up. UNACCEPTABLE. There were several nurses and CNA that were great Lauren, Lawrence and Krystle went above and beyond. Derrick had a bowel issue and needed to be clean on several occasions. One male Nurse asks him didn't he know when he had to go, I made the comment he does and pushing the call button and no one comes? Hopefully this will be address would you want your love ones treated that way. Nurses, doctors etc. should be a patient for a few days.

ChristianaCare Back in 2015, I was hospitalized and I had just turned 18

Back in 2015, I was hospitalized and I had just turned 18. I did not have health insurance and I was hit with a very large medical bill ($8000+) that I thought my parents had paid. I did not realize it wasn't paid and I haven't lived at the house where the bill was sent for many years. It's suddenly on my credit report, knocking my score by over 100 points. I have no idea what to do. If I were able to pay this, it still doesn't repair the terrible damage to my credit that won't let me buy a house. Please help.

ChristianaCare 7/27 I had a medical procedure done at the Christiana Hospital

7/27 I had a medical procedure done at the Christiana Hospital. I received a bill dated 9/27 with a balance of $1491.94 which I owed to Christiana. So I called them to find out why I was receiving this bill more than a year later. The billing staff told me that the United Healthcare my insurance company took a long time to pay the their part of the bill. When I called the insurance company they said that they paid Christiana hospital on 8/15. I have HCSA (health care savings acct) and I also get MRA (medical reimbursement account) from my company so I use that to pay all my medical bills. Since this bill was a year ago I obviously may not be able to use these accounts to pay for my balance. In the meantime I also paid Christiana hospital $600 towards the bill. I was also told by a manager of the billing department that if I can show them the HCSA statement from 9, they may close the account and disregard the bill. I sent them an email with a copy of my statement and also responded to their question they had regarding the statement. Christiana hospital wanted to see that I had the money in my HCSA and MRA account to pay for the bill if I received it in 2018. As of now they never responded to me but send me another bill. I could not use my HCSA/MRA to pay the balance off because of the time frame. I need ComplaintsBoard.com's help to get to the bottom of this issue and have Christiana hospital adjust the balance to $0 and close my account. I do not have the money to pay from my own pocket. I also want to make sure there is no negative impact on my credit. I can also provide you with evidence you require.
