My mother was transported from a rehab facility on 2/28/07 by American Medical Response to a hospital where she died. My father never received a bill from this company. Today we received a collection agency letter (Bay Area Credit Service). In talking with AMR a bill was sent to the facility and returned. I tried to get info from her insurance comp to see if it was paid or submitted and they could not give me any info because I am not authorized and did not have her card number (we really don't have any info cause it has been so long) I don't know where to turn. I did send a letter of dispute. What should I do? Joan

Called 911 and for a fall at 2:43 pm. Ambulance arrives at 3:10 pm. Now that's pretty long for a emergency. 25 min to arrive

What if it was a heart attack? This lady laid on the floor for 25 min unable to move. I suggest you get your act together in Colo. Sprgs CO before your replaced. This happened on 5/18/23

I spent 40 minutes on the phone with a rep who had no clue whatsoever what i was asking her, simply if a person was transported by their facility to oak hill hospital. She couldn't even transfer me to a supervisor and then disconnected me!

she sounded like she was working from overseas.

Train your staff!

Please disregard previous comment, not sure why it posted. Unfortunately medical providers can send the bill to collections without warning. It sucks but there is nothing to do to stop it. I would suggest sending a death certificate to the agency trying to collect the debt and see if that gets them off of your back.

I suggest you send a letter of complaint immediately to AMR so they do not put others at risk.

If you think thats bad, AMR supervisors in Lexington Kentucky mistreat their employees. One of the supervisors is a sexual predator who has sexually harassed 4 different females and still has a job. This particular supervisor calls the employees names and curses at them for no reason. To top it off, this is the company transporting our veterans. I overheard this case from a lawyers office today and was disgusted.
