African Bank has to be one of the worst financial institutions in South Africa. If you’re looking to put your financial well-being and credit profile at risk, they certainly won’t let you down. This is now the third missed payment they’ve incorrectly reported on my profile.
I am absolutely furious. How does a bank report a missed payment when the instalment was made on time? This is not a small mistake — it’s gross negligence that directly harms customers’ credit records and destroys trust.
It’s unbelievable that customers have to fight to correct errors caused by the bank itself. If African Bank claims to care about transparency and service, then it’s time they proved it by fixing their systems and taking real accountability.
Let’s talk about their service:
A) Their service desk is practically offline 365 days a year.
B) Their banking app doesn’t work outside of South Africa.
And that’s just the beginning — the list of failures is endless. It’s a constant cycle of poor service, zero support, and unresolved issues. At this point, I’m genuinely considering seeking legal advice to investigate whether their conduct amounts to fraud.
This level of incompetence is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable.
