AAMCO Transmissions - Free AC Check
Contacted my local AAMCO (4205 Oleander Dr, Wilmington, NC 28403) about the Free AC check and they said that they do participate in the program but it only entails making sure the AC belt is on and connecting it to the diagnostics costs over $200. That is not what the Free AC check online says it includes. Never trust AAMCO for your auto repair. If they lie online, they will lie about repairs.

I have had the regretful and unfortunate experience of dealing with 4 different aamco locations, herricks road garden city (which to no surprise has went out of business) merrick road, lynbrook, ralph ave. brooklyn, herricks road, garden city for a second time, which had recently been acquired by the ralph avenue brooklyn owner, in addition to their corporate headquarters. every experience has been a stressful, costly and aggrivating ordeal. the valid 3 year 300,000 mile nationwide warranty was not honored after the engine they installed was operational for only less than 2 years. there has been no occasion that I have received my vehicle back from any aamco location without multiple other issues that have had to be repaired elsewhwere. they have appauling comunication employees were not only extremely incompetent and unproffessional, but exhibited outright hostility towards me in the form of profanity and hurling insults in response to me asking questions. almost $20,000 including tows and rentals in under 2 years and the vehicle has been rendered uninspectable, unreliable and unusable after the neglegence and incompetence of their attempts at repairs to the vehicle.

I took my vehicle for a FREE courtesy check at 1821 S S Rd 7, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. After two days of getting no updates, I called and spoke to a female by the name of Zee. She informed me that the battery in my vehicle was dead and that they had to charge it, which took the whole day (RED FLAG). She also informed me that to diagnose the problem, it would be about 4 hours at $169 per hour (another RED FLAG); it does not take that long to put a vehicle on the machine to find out the problem. I thought all along that was what was being done. I was told that she would text me some papers to sign to give them permission to do the diagnostic, and I agreed for only 1 hour at $169.
I called back on day 3 for more updates; Zee informed me that my vehicle was still waiting to be diagnosed and that it would not be done until the following Monday because of Thanksgiving and that they are not open on weekends. The shop is open at 7:30 am, and a message was left on my phone at 5:47 am telling me that she had new information on my vehicle (REALLY!). If the shop is open at 7:30 am, how could they have information about my vehicle before that time? (RED FLAG). I called the shop just to be told that I would have to pay $1195.00 for them to diagnose my transmission. At this point, I told Zee that I would be coming for my vehicle. I requested a printout for the diagnostic they claimed was done. I went home and viewed it, only to find out that nothing was done, and they dated the paper for day number 2, even though they initially told me that nothing could have been done until Monday. I called and spoke to Zee, who was very rude and hung up the phone on me. They also deliberately broke my key fob, and now I can open or close the door of my vehicle unless I remove the key from the fob.
I took my vehicle to another shop, and I got the problem fixed for only $125. The problem was just the transmission pressure switch.
I would advise everyone to get a second or even a third opinion. And please be aware of AAMCO. They are not truthful and will lie to you just to get your money.
Aamco
I dropped off my car at 8 am and they closed early and won’t be open till Tuesday, I will be without my car for 4 days. I did not relieve a call or anything regarding the service or lack of service and they were closing early today. I will never recommend this place to anyone. The AAMCO I am referring to is the one in Victorville on Palmdale road.

I had ROGER the owner take a look at my axle that I replaced, and I came to find out I made a mistake, so the part had to be replaced. Roger called me about 4pm to tell me what it would cost, and the problem needed to fix it correctly. Based on this information I verbally agreed by phone to have the repairs done, which was the Right passenger axle and the new seal. Roger stated the new part would be in tomorrow and I said I'd like to examine the new part against the old part, but he hung up on me before he heard me. I called the next morning around 830am to let them know I need to see the new part before they replace it to compare it and see what happened. I get there after the part was received and he told me I have 30 seconds to look at it in a Haughty voice. I was a lil bit taken aback by his customer service engagement with me by him as the OWNER in front of his staff. So, I said OK go ahead and fix it and let me know when its ready. So, they call me later that day, I ordered an Uber to drop me off at their location. I go in and they charged me a CREDIT PROCESSING FEE of $19 on the bill not understanding that I'm paying in cash, Hmmm! I had them take that FEE off and they did. I also requested the old parts and ROGER stated that they threw the brand-new Seal part away that they should've shown me, but they did give me the new Axle I put in and I observed the issue based on my fault. I paid and wrote down PAYING UNDER PROTEST on the bill and ROGER got mad at me for doing so and told me to get THE [censored] out of his business or I'll call the Sheriff. So, I said sir I'll wait until they come so they can see how CRAZY you are with a customer who simply wanted ALL of his old Parts Back. Roger called the police 2 times on me within a span of 10 minutes and manufactured a LIE that I threatened his LIFE, which never happened. I asked ROGER why you have a buzzer on a Public Service Business, and he told me none of my business. I said you must be afraid of something to have that on your door. He told me to GET OUT and I said I'll wait on the police sir. Meanwhile we are going back and forth, and he tells me you are NOT a good Car Tech, and I said sir we all make mistakes and so do your men back there. He went on rant about my Mobile Shop in that he Owns his business and still in business and not like my other business "kangaroo House Subs and More" that went out of business. I said sir I downsized based on the economy and there are many mom-and-Pop places going under sir and furthermore what does that have to do with your Bad attitude and you're badgering me as a customer. I said sir you DO NOT own AAMCO you have a Franchise Contract under their name ONLY! They can snatch your franchise Contract at any time sir. Then ROGER got more upset and slammed his office door on me. I kept talking [censored] to him until 2 Uniformed officers PBSO cops showed up and I let them both in cus they have a buzzer on the door (LMAO). I spoke to the officers and explained the deal and they took me outside and he made them give me a NO TRESSPASSING ORDER for 1 year. I told the Popo he won't never have to worry about me coming back EVER! But I will call Corporate and relay the interaction I had today, along with posting up the Video online of how he treated me, doing a Review all over the Internet, and Calling the Department of Agriculture about my experiences with ROGER. I BELIEVE HE IS A LOWKEY RACIST AND DEALS WITH BP ONLY BECAUSE HE DERIVES MONEY FROM THEM. I MIGHT BE WRONG BUT HE HAS MANY PBSO CUSTOMERS CALL ON HIM OR VICE VERSA over the years he's been under a Franchise Contract with Aamco, SO TO ME HE HAS A HISTORY OF BEING A NASTY SOB.

IF ANYONE HAS HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS LOCATION, PLEASE GET INTOUCH WITH ME @[protected]@YAHOO.COM. I PERSONALLY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AAMCO CORPORATE TAKE HIS FRANCHISE LICENSE BASED ON ALL THE COMPLAINTS THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD WITH THIS PERSON IN GENERAL. I THINK HE HAS A MEDICAL MENTAL ISSUE GOING ON AND DOESNT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK OR RELATE TO HIS CUSTOMER BASE AND IT SEEMS LIKE HE'S DOING SHADY WORK TO ADD TO THE BILLS OF HIS CUSTOMERS. I SEEK TO FILE A CLASSACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST HIM AND AAMCO AT THIS POINT FOR ALL WHO HAVE BEEN TAKEN BY ROGER THE OWNER INFACT.
Recommendation: He needs to have a mental medical evaluation because he's always mad and upset no matter who he deals with. I wouldn't dare deal with this location at all based on the interaction I had with him.
Awful company
There is nothing positive to share here. What an absolutely awful company from the franchisees to corporate there is nothing good about it. They will rip you off as much as they can and essentially tell you how stupid you are. I called corporate to file a complaint and was told that they would investigate and get back to me. Was there ever a follow up with me ? NO! they dont give a [censored] and I'm sure their customer support people are told to just appease the customer but never really try to provide a satisfactory solution. I wish no one would continue to support this business so they will just have to shut down.

I went through the same exact thing as above. It has been endless nonsense for nearly 3 months now. The original first location and a ledged technician tore into my car without first checking on availability of parts. they destroyed the original parts upon removal. sense then the car has continuously broke down and had to be towed back to there shop and never repaired properly. not only that, every time i got the car back their was new damage, unbelievable. management from another location stepped in but their is still serious problems. my car is now destroyed, not to mention I was price gouged $5300! their are many more issues that need to be addressed in a court of law. AAMCO is clearly a rip off organization with true criminal intent. anyone please call me. john G. @ [protected]. anytime.

Repair for sway bar that was not performed, battery replacement.
I took my dodge journey for repair to the AAMCO Laveen location in November 2023, total bill was a little over $3000. I took my car for repairs to Midas for brake repair and they notified me that my sway bar needed repair and my battery was not charging correctly, they provided picture of the sway bar that needed repair. The repair should have been completed by AAMCO. I contacted Better Business Bureau but the store ignored the complaint. I am requesting a refund for services not performed. The BBB also provided me other resources to submit my complaint to, the AZ Attorney General which I plan on doing.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am contacting you, as my personal efforts on 09/02/24 to have a warranty extension payment refunded by AAMCO New Braunfels have been denied.
Case description:
From 07/07 - 08/11/23 (!), I had my 2008 Ford Explorer with AAMCO New Braunfels, ref.: Invoice I124310, 8-11-23, USD 5,997.40! Rebuilt Transmission installed! Additional Rental Car costs $ 2,449.54 (repair shop rate)
As I wanted more warranty, I bought an extended warranty for the amount of USD 500.00 (included in the invoice amount).
Now, in May 2024 my SUV broke down. Suspecting a transmission failure, I had it towed to AAMCO New Braunfels for a warranty repair. The shop, however, denied a warranty repair, claiming “Sadly, the transmission failure is not a workmanship issue nor due to failure of an internal part we provided. It is clearly a failure due to excessive temperature.”
Note: The temperature control was in the normal / operating range.
Because I had used a sealing fluid in the radiator, the shop used this flimsy excuse to deny the warranty repair “.. Br e a k down caused by abuse, misuse, modifications or alterations, including modifications that increase the gross vehicle weight or carrying capacity. For a Br e a k down caused by another mechanical failure of malfunction in the vehicle that damages the covered Component.”
That this sealing product had caused a problem was strongly refuted by the manufacturer’s Tech Support in a detailed report. Despite this disproof, AAMCO New Braunfels held on to their excuse for not honoring the transmission warranty.
As I no longer trusted AAMCO New Braunfels, I had my SUV towed to my repair shop in San Marcos to install a transmission I bought from AutoZone.
Franks Automotive also determined that the Transfer Case installed by AAMCO New Braunfels was detective. Warranty repair done by AAMCO San Marcos.
Invoice I124811 dated 6-10-24
My conclusion: Denied warranty is a voided / cancelled warranty.
The purchased extended warranty cannot be used on a transmission from another company.
Therefore, the extended warranty is no longer available and is to be refunded.
NOTE: The transmission is equipped with an oil temperature sensor.
No code readout provided in the warranty repair denial.
I am looking forward to receive your reply.
Regards,
Johann Weber

I already sent you a letter telling you about the expense of $11,000 for a transmission and a rear and I still have a bad vibration when sitting still in the truck is in gear the manager of the establishment and bear Delaware just told me that I could take it somewhere else or his recommendation would be waiting until something breaks then we’ll fix it. Is this how you guys run your company please at least contact me back and let me know you got this even though you’re probably not gonna do anything about it.

Transmission
Hi staff of AAMCO,
On 11/21/2023, I took my 2013 Toyota Highlander to your location on 18950 SW Shaw St, Aloha, OR 97007. I was told that my entire transmission needed to be rebuilt. After a $6264.82 job on 12/13/2023 and having my vehicle spent at the shop for over 2 weeks, I have been continuing to have issues with the transmission for the next 2 months. Below are the instances that I have brought the vehicle back to AAMCO.
The first instance was on 01/03/24, where my vehicle’s transmission slipped twice in low gear and the car jumps when accelerating. According to AAMCO, I had to bring the vehicle back on 01/10/2024 to have the camshaft position sensor replaced.
The second instance was on 02/02/2024, where I experienced high RPM between shifts. The vehicle then stalled when accelerating before a shift, then loses power. The engine also shut off when foot is taken off the gas. In order for the vehicle to start again, it required the car into neutral. Upon a technician's inspection, the solenoid needed replacement as well.
The past few has been the most stressful moments of my life. I have a vehicle that is practically un-drivable and has left me in the most inconvenient situations.
I have lost multiple days of pay due to the lack of being unable to drive to work. I have continuously attempted to use public transportation when it takes me more than an hour to get to work vs driving 25 minutes with my vehicle. Some days, I am not able to take public transportation because the long duration of the trip which puts a lot of stress on my knees,
At this point, I feel completely unsafe in my own vehicle to drive and cannot trust the vehicle to drive myself and my family. I even feel that the vehicle has gotten worse than the original issue it came to the shop for.
I sincerely hope you understand the situation I am in now. I need my car back in fully operational status so I can safely drive.
I general I brought my car to Aamaco Nov. 21, 2023 for transmission repair after fixing I picked up my car Dec.13, 2023 then Jan, 03, 2024, Jan.10, 2024, Jan, 30, 2024, multiple transmission issues, Feb. 02,2024 I took my car back to Aamaco with worst transmission issue.
I WANT YOU TO HEAR ME OUT WITH THIS IMPROPER FIXING MY TRANSMISSION MY BLOOD PRESURE IS NOT STABLE DUE TO STRESS ABOUT MY CAR.
Sincerely,
Emerlinda Roman

My truck a 2012 dodge Ram bighorn 2500
Hi there I had my truck towed in on November 13, 2023 to see why my truck wouldn’t start. They called me on Wednesday and told me that I needed to replace broken fuel lines replaced a wiring harness repair, and a fuel pump controller connector. they said it wouldn’t get started until the following Wednesday to get the parts in. So agreed to that I also ask them if this was for sure going to fix the problem? They said yes! Well I I got a call saying that they took it for a test drive and it just kept acting like it was going to die. So now they are saying it the Tipm that needs repleaced so they find a tipm to put in and say the truck was going to be ready anytime after 2pm. So I went ready to pick it up the next day which was November 29th I got down there they said the truck was still not ready because the transmission work they they did back in July 2023 the transmission needed fully reprogrammed so they had to sent out a special technician to do that which they said would take 48 hours at the most well didnt hear anything back from them so I called them and they said some how the tipm shorted out and on top of that blew the computer! The ECM! So they said they ordered and new one and they wouldn’t be charging me for the computer because my truck has been down there so long. but they didn’t know when it was going to get here because the dodge manufacture was on strike. well long story short I didn’t get my truck back until the 29th of December and had to bring it back after 2 days because I went to go fuel my tank gas and the gas just came gushing out all over the place my husband was soaked in gasoline! So I called them on Monday and was like what the hell why won’t my truck hold gas in the tank you did all that work and there’s still problems well took it back they ended up finding out the fuel lines came off! Like what really I thought everything was looking over and it was good to go but no more problems! We’ll get back running great and then maybe 5 days after having it back I go out to start the truck and it won’t start! Dead dead battery so I grab my jumper box and try to start it no luck! So I’m like great I need to call the dang shop again. They say okay we will pay the tow to bring it in and found out what’s wrong well they find out that my starter is toast and they he mentions some kind of gaskets that need replaced that are leaking and he calls me 1500 he says I took 100 off so I told him that I need to talk to my husband because he’s not gonna want to pay any more money into this track so I talked to him that next Monday, which is 22 January 2024 I tell him that I’m not gonna pay for the work there. I’ve already put out pretty much 11 grand into that truck at that shop, so I am just going to tow it back home while,he told me that I have to pay for the tow because I’m not getting any work done there and I argued back with him saying why do I have to pay for the tow you said you were gonna pay for the tow. I shouldn’t have to pay for the tow. I just want my truck out of there and back home.
Claimed loss: We had to use a Uber that whole time out truck was in the shop. $1000 in just Ubers alone
Desired outcome: towing my truck back and reimburse me for the gas they stole or used!! Refund for the tipm

Transmission issues
Oct 2022 I paid $5000 for a new transmission. Since then I have had the car back in the shop 5 times and 4 transmissions later. I have a 2019 Ram 2500. I took my truck to Aamco at 638 Medford Ave Patchogue NY. for a transmission issue. The warranty company Car Shield wanted to source it out for a used unit. Frank at Aamco asked me would I be willing to pay extra for a rebuild. I agreed to have my transmission rebuild. I had to bring my truck back twice after being rebuilt. My truck has been in the shop for a total of 3 weeks. Frank keeps giving me the run around blaming the problem on the warranty company. I want all the money sent back to me so I can take my truck somewhere else to be repaired properly. I'm losing money everyday that my truck sits in his shop. The last time I picked up my truck it broke down and had to get towed due to multiple transmission codes and a faulty mystery right front axle problem. I just want my transmission fixed or a refund.

Serious concerns regarding discriminatory and unprofessional conduct, and scamming at aamco transmission
Dear AAMCO Corporate Representative I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and deep distress regarding a recent experience I had at the AAMCO Transmission facility, specifically at the Camp Bowie location in Fort Worth, Texas. The series of events that unfolded during my interaction with a staff member named Reuben are deeply troubling, and I feel compelled to bring them to your immediate attention. To provide some context, I had my vehicle towed to the AAMCO Transmission facility following an accident that necessitated a new transmission. Due to financial constraints, I made consistent efforts to stay informed about the status of my car. I contacted the facility every week to ensure that my vehicle was secure and that there were no outstanding charges due to its presence. Reuben, the individual with whom I interacted during this period, repeatedly assured me that my car was safely stored at the facility and that no repairs would be initiated until I had the necessary funds to proceed. Moreover, I was informed that parking was free, and I took this assurance into account in my decision-making process. However, to my shock and dismay, I later discovered that Reuben, the representative from the Camp Bowie, Fort Worth, TX location, had taken it upon himself to contact my bank. He conveyed to them that I was neglecting my vehicle and, inexplicably, insisted they should repossess it. It is imperative to stress that throughout the time my vehicle was in AAMCO's possession, I never defaulted on my car loan payments and remained consistently up-to-date. The repercussions of Reuben's unwarranted actions have been significant. My vehicle was repossessed as a direct result of his intervention, leading me to accumulate a debt of $13,000. Regrettably, when I sought to address this issue with Reuben, he displayed a complete lack of professionalism. He not only laughed at my concerns but also demonstrated a flagrant disregard for my questions, particularly regarding the specifics of the bank call and the decision-making process. When I requested to speak with a manager to resolve the issue, he shockingly asserted that he was the manager. Furthermore, it is vital to point out that Reuben's conduct throughout this entire ordeal extended beyond simple unprofessionalism; it was characterized by deep disrespect and appeared to be compounded by a gender bias. Repeatedly, he belittled me and even referred to me as "stupid." It became evident that he had a distinct issue in speaking to me because I am a woman. To substantiate this claim, I had multiple male colleagues contact Reuben on my behalf, and he treated them respectfully. In order to irrefutably demonstrate his gender bias and blatant sexism, I also had my mother and a female friend call the facility, and they, too, encountered disrespect. The consequences of this ordeal are extensive. Not only am I burdened with an overwhelming debt, but the repossession of my vehicle has left a lasting mark on my credit history. The presence of a repossession on my credit report has drastically reduced my credit score, rendering me unable to secure a new car and impacting my financial future significantly. I implore you to undertake a thorough investigation of this matter and to take appropriate actions to rectify the situation. It is my sincere hope that AAMCO Transmission will address this matter in a manner that upholds the company's reputation and commitment to customer satisfaction, and takes a firm stand against any form of discrimination. I eagerly await your response and implore a swift resolution to this distressing and disheartening matter. Thank you for your attention to this issue.
Desired outcome: I would like Reuban to be fired. I want an investigation done, and I want a letter from AAMCO helping dispute charges, I also want an apology from Reuban
Rebuilt transmission
I dropped off my 2016 land rover sport, roughly 2 and one-halt moths ago. I kept getting the run around about parts, I get that, then it was a another month of trying to program computer to link up with transmission. I was very patient and optimistic about the work being done. I paid the full balance even though the pricing was not less than the dealership. I did have a rental but it went pass the time frame that my warranty had given me. I did express that I was paying out of pocket for a rental because it had went past the allowed time frame to repair my car. I did express this concern to the manager but was not compensated nor did he seemed to care. The day finally came to pick up my car 10/12/23, I drove it for 3 days before it started giving me the same issue that I brought it for. I am very disappointed in the lack of service which is unacceptable. I am now without a car again and will have to miss work tomorrow. This is unacceptable. I will be reaching out to the better business bureau and my attorney if nothing is done within 24 hours.. My total cost for repairs 11,136.96
Desired outcome: i want my car repaired and i will need transportation that should be paid by AAMCO..
Transmission
In April 2022, I had my Ford Explorer repaired at an independently owned and operated Aamco at 7683 NW Prairie View Rd, Kansas City, MO 64151 in NKC. In October 2023 and less than 25 thousand miles later, my transmission was not working property, so I took it into the original shop and was advised there was a change in ownership, and they could not locate my original paperwork. I am a business owner with employees and their customer communication process is horrible.
After 3 weeks, I presented my original receipt and documentation, and the manager tells me that my documentation is not real. This is fraud. Stay away from this business. On the BBB, they have a grade of "F". Also, I have reached out to the MO Attorney General's Office to file a formal complaint against this business from the Consumer Protection Office.
Aamco has held my commercial vehicle hostage for 4 weeks and their behavior strongly suggests auto repair negligence and breach of contract, which can lead to a civil court case.
It shows that Aamco declined the transmission from ATSI, but documented on my receipt that they received the transmission from ATSI. Also, please review the previous owner's comments regarding the shop business practices. Aamco's business practices at this location lack integrity, it's unethical, it's illegal and fraudulent. So, on October 10, 2023, I hired an attorney to go after these crooks.
Update: As of 10/10/2023 - Aamco has removed their listing with the BBB showing an "F" rating.
Desired outcome: Fix transmission and reimbursement for having to get a rental and to hire an attorney for representation.
